Current name:
>Kuroba Quattropace

>1986

Trims:
>Poverty base (L) – RWD, 1.8L SOHC 4 Banger (borrowed from another manufacturer to reduce cost on cheapest model) developing 110 bhp

>ECO (FEX) – RWD, base 1.8l with a low pressure turbo developing around 130 bhp

>Base 6 (GL, GLE) – RWD, featuring the Company's in-house 2.0l straight 6 with a rev limit of 8k, develops nearly 200 bhp

>TURBO I – RWD, Turbo charged 2.0L I6 230bhp
>TURBO II – AWD, Twin Turbo 2.0L I6 270bhp

Special versions
>Group B like rally spec
>DTM or similar
>WAT racing development M.E.M.E machine ( not eligible for participation in any official racing )

>A car designed by a bunch of autists, so what? What can I do with it?
It will be simplified and put into Assetto Corsa and Rfactor ( other games might be possible too, i.e. GTA 4 and BeamNG, but that's too much to promise atm).
ALSO, there will be some animations featuring the car, a commercial set in the period and something like Initial D.
>Have you seen another anon working on the Touge racing game?
Yes, we have talked, this has a strong chance of making it in that game, if not guaranteed.

can do this if its even possible as I have mentioned all I really know are how to do specs and shit

Can't wait to take votes on the next car style.

I'm voting for mid 2000s hot hatch specifically because I've never liked any hatchback designs that came out of the 2000s besides the Swift. I want to help design something that I would buy.
1.8l I4 RWD hatchback is my goal.
>>
>>18314227
Man the 80s and 90s of car design were a wild time, it was like the 60s all over again.

That said, a lot of 80s/90s sports cars are way more practical than anyone would give them credit for. My DD is an R33 and its shocking spacious in the rear seat (you can actually fit two full sized humans in there) and the boot is bigger than you'd expect. Sports cars back in the day were designed on a weird set of rules, namely that they were fun performance cars, but they were still primarily cars and thus needed things like boot space, and reasonably headspace etc.

I mean shit, you can maybe fit one child in the back seat of the Toyobaru and that's with them laying down.

This is what I don't get. You manage to increase the number of cylinders by 50% but displacement by only 11%

There were tons of 6 cylinder engines that were much larger in displacement. Nissan iirc already had a 3.5l right? So did Chevy and Ford. Their 6cylinder engines were based on a 4 cylinder engine. So you increased the cylinders but your actual piston volume dropped significantly from 450cc/cylinder to 333. This is a pretty significant increase in weight for a displacement that probably does make less power than the 4 cylinder purely because of the friction and crankshaft loss. You probably lose a lot of torque because your stroke is so small and because of that power is also very small.
>>
>>18322037
That Nissan z or what ever
>>
>>18322064
So I just Googled it and Nissan had a 3.0l v6 engine around the time your car would be released and these engines actually did touch 300hp with turbos, dohc and vvt
>>
>>18322064
And after doing a little more calculating. It looks like your cylinder bore is really fucking small. You only have 333cc to work with per cylinder which means if you want to have a good optimal cylinder dimensions. Your cylinder can be anywhere reasonably from 8cm height with 3.64cm radius to as fat as 4cm height (really really short stroke) with a 5.14cm radius.

This engine just seems unoptimal and extremely inefficient. Technology of the time was better imo

The I6 does need to be fixed. However, if you read the OP, you’d know that the I6 isn’t based off of the I4, it’s an unrelated engine.
>>
>>18322361
>However, if you read the OP, you’d know that the I6 isn’t based off of the I4, it’s an unrelated engine
Yea I saw this but this might actually be the problem. The fact that your i6 isn't based off your i4 has presented this issue. If your i6 was based on your i4 the i6 displacement should be 2.7l
>>
>>18322469
And even if the i6 isn't based on the i4 the i6 could be a lot better. The only other maker that made engines like this was Honda motorcycle engines and BMW car engines but those are all decades and decades old and were dropped for larger displacement solutions.

The i6 just has to make sense

2.0l i6s werent exactly common VS higher displacement 6 cylinder engines
>>
>>18322511
Rb20 and 1G were extremely common back in the day in Japan
>>
>>18322511
Japanese cars have displacement taxation. The 2.0L turbo I6 makes sense and there are several examples of that configuration in cars from the era, as people will probably show you.
>>
>>18322513
I hate to agree with this faggot, but he is right.
>>
>>18322514
Then how did Honda and Nissan get away with 2.7 and 3.0 and 3.2l 6 cylinder engines? Especially when the Nissan z was one of the most popular sports enthusiasts cars at the time?
>>
>>18322520
The taxes on those cars are higher so they are for wealthier people.
Duh.
>>
>>18322520
Because they are in a higher taxation segment. Just like Europe (at least some of it). If your car is under 101 bhp, you pay significantly less taxes than the cars with higher output. That's why the 1.6 Engine in the Golf is exactly 101 hp. There are still cars that have higher outputs.
>>
>>18322530
>>18322528
Then why limit yourselves? The turbo I and turbo II options appear to be marketed towards the sports enthusiasts, give them something that sports enthusiasts loved during the Era.

If you take a look at Wikipedia you'll find that many of those cars with those higher displacement engines were also available with a 2.0L engine. The 280ZX in particular was available with a 2.0L, turbocharged inline six.
>>
>>18322532
They are homologation specials, that need to fit in a category, read up on the Group B rules. Although I think it would be a great idea to bore it to ~2.1 liters to fit the Audi Quattro segment.
>>
>>18322532
Also I would drop the turbo II awd for the rwd instead, larger displacement engine with the better turbo option.

That way you have a 1.8l, a 2.0l, a 2.0l turbo and a 3.0l turbo

Im sure enthusiasts loved cars like pic related when it came it with a 2.0 turbo 6

>>
>>18322553
I'm sure people loved the Nissan z when it came with a twin turbo 3.0l 6cyl seeing as how validly popular it was at the time

I'm just saying. Don't limit yourselves to group b stuff. You can have tons of different options for the same car that Nissan and Honda apparently did.
>>
>>18322532
That's exactly what a 2 liter turbo I6 is. It fits the car in a low cost enthusiast segment that's cheaper to own (for the hypothetical original market, anyway).

it's a car designed by weeaboos, what do you expect?
>>
>>18322559
The 300ZX is a completely different class of car.
>>
>>18322560
Designed by weebs who seem to ignore the plethora of more famous cars but are arbitrarily limiting themselves to some sort of price point and not a technology threshold of the time. The car already has an economic variant why not go above and beyond with what was available
>>
>>18322559
its not really limited it was decided on

the 2.0 is for the revs more than anything and this car isnt in the same class as the Z31

in Japan the Z31 used a whole lot more 2.0s than it did 3.0s anyway
>>
>>18322572
I still think the car should be available in a bigger faster fastest option just because it did exist then even if it was less popular as a result of price. I'd rather have the option to touch the upper echelons of the performance of the Era than stave from it because another was more popular

Honda and Nissan did it why can't we?
>>
>>18308488

the biggest thing Honda had at this time was a 2.7 V6 for a mid size luxury car and the Supra is a completely different class of car

this is more of a Silvia kind of car which used 1.8s and 2.0s at the time )except for USA where it got a 3.0 V6 because fuck youre turbos)

not sure how to word this but:

are the individual parts of the model removable/selectable in blender?
i downloaded a car model for asseto corsa and when i load it into blender, i can select certain parts and delete them
just want to know if i can do that if i can get a hold of a copy of the 4p file
