Honda related, but I found out my Civic (2009 Ex-L sedan) uses McPherson struts up front and miulti-link rear suspension. Honestly would have figured they'd cheap out and go with torsion beam like other manufacturers were doing at the time my car was made.

Yeah though those welds are pretty damn nice and it comes with the test pipe as well. A Skunk2 4-2-1 header costs around $430 alone so it's not a bad deal in comparison.

I mean, technically, he could clear coat it afterwards to give it some gloss. It'll probably still look shabby but hey, to each his own.

The last time I got a car sprayed it cost me ~$500 and that included light body work so it's not exactly out of this world expensive to get it done professionally.

it's not a "build", it's an '84 CRX that was going to be sent to the wrecking yard before I bought it for a couple hundred. I'm failing to see how this is a bad thing; it's either this, or getting ripped to shreds by mexicans at Pick n Pull. Also, for the price of this car, and the fact that it's a salvage title... this *is* the paint that it deserves. It's a piece of shit.

went to start my project car and nothing. I left the battery hooked up which is a Odyssey PC925. I never checked but the PO installed the stereo wrong and had a parasitic drain. Odyssey or EnerSys doesn't warranty overdischarged batteries. FML. Silver lining is since I'm not limited by the stock battery location anymore I'm going to put an xboxhueg battery in it.

Damn that's some serious drain to kill an Odyssey. My PC680 has been the best so far. It helped my engine run for several miles when my crank pulley came off. Was able to get it to my buddy's place to fix it.
>>
>>18670308
they even claim that it can take several more full drains than conventional batteries and has 8 year warranty. I tried charging it all night with my desulfication (?spelling) battery restoring charger and nothing. it's toast.

>As interesting and appealing it seems to go D2-D3-D4 to copy MT, do not start with D2 as that literally starts you in second gear and you will lug the car since NoTork(tm).
>As with most AT, when you feel an upshift is necessary; hold throttle for desired acceleration, ease off the throttle a little but still hold it, the transmission will believe the lighter load means the car is up to speed and shift. Afterwards, apply normal throttle. On a flat plane this is the difference between 2.5K and 3K upshifting.
>D3 is useful for engine braking.
>When shifting from D3 to D4, you can technically be on throttle, but it may be best to let go of throttle when shifting. The transmission you have may shift after you change the shifter so learn the tempo for smoothest shifting.
>Remember to check your oil tonight or your car will die in the middle of your street.
>Only change into gear when stopped and at idle.
>Neutral to reverse has a mechanical lockout requiring brake and shifter button to be depressed. Neutral to D4 has no lock. D4 to neutral has no lock. Exercise caution accidental changing of gears does not occur.
>If your car vibrates excessively in gear, but not in neutral or park, chances are your engine/transmission mount rubbers are old and brittle.
>When at highways speeds in fourth gear, if you feel a "shift" followed by a drop in rpm, some Honda ATs are equipped with some kind of secondary clutch. This is not a fifth gear. Most noticeable when laying off throttle and going back on.

here's the culprit. broken oil cooler gasket. The cooler and oil filter are both mounted to the block using a single bolt. I know during the last oil change I had tough time getting the filter off. I'm guessing as I twisted the filter off it also backed out the bolt slightly from the block. then it just gradually came loose until the oil was able to get past the gasket

That's nothing, people here behind you will be peeved if you don't utilize the yellow to turn left, so I sometimes chirp around the corner on red.

If that thing is still sitting there when my tax return shows up, or if I sell the Corolla, I'm probably picking it up. I can sell from the rear end that the crash bar is pointing down so who knows how bad it is under there. I'd love to see it in person.

Just made a turn onto a main road and I was focused on switching lanes, and I blew past the light not even realizing it.

That combined with the fact that it was done by a qualified professional mechanic probably means you're right.

Interesting choice, that's a system I've never had my hands on. Not 100% on the pumps location, I would wager the black canister down around the steering rack has something to do with it. I'm just not going to touch that ever

Maybe one day I could get him to part with it, or finally convince him to let me help him free of charge. Stubborn bastard.

How is it I've never hit the curb with my tires yet he keeps doing it. Like I get not being able to tell the front in this as around the finders might as well be a blind spot on all tires but he curbed the civic when it was his as well. Also I can't get this Mazda 3 into garage. Pls tell me newer cars aren't also this hard to park.

Got about 37 when I filled up today. Feels gud man.

Heading to Baton Rouge tomorrow afternoon to pick up the LS Mesh wheels painted black with good tires for $150. He also has a black hood for $25 so I'm leaving my old hood at my buddy's place and driving over without one.

Good chance to see how worn out my rear and transmission mounts have gotten. kek

Hope I don't get pulled over. I'm sure it will be fine since I'll be driving to go buy a replacement hood.
>>
>>18689937
>Worn mounts
I think my CM5 has worn out mounts somewhere in the front too, it's really lurchy sometimes, and it makes a clunk noise when I let off the brake and reverse in the morning.
>>
>>18689966
Yeah sometimes when I let go of the throttle in second or third gear my shifter will jerk and I can hear it in the bay. Same for when I start moving the car in reverse. I'll probably knock that out soon.
>>
>>18689986
Damn, mine is exactly the same, when I'm hooning in D3 on the high way, it will shduder like a mofo when I get back on the gas again, I though my torque converter was the problem so i'm glad if it is mounts, damn car's nearly 15 years of age.
>>
>>18689990
Yeah luckily it's fairly simple for these. The rear mount by the firewall has apparently been bad for a long ass time, and it ended up taking the transmission mount with it. I actually replaced that one once before so I gotta replace it again.
>>
>>18690023
>tfw mount replacement labor is probably a bitch on a K24
Kek, maybe me banging the rev limiter so much is hurting the mounts a little.
>>
>>18690036
I honestly don't even notice it while I'm actually driving the car. If I stop being lazy, I'll get those and my tie rods swapped out.

It sucks for me because I had a CM with perfect mounts when the frame rails got sectioned, my new CM with that perfect untouched front end is really showing it's age. with those 14yo mounts, my old one looked like a bag of shit but it was perfect.
>>
>>18690100
That's what I hate the most about replacing a car. It's got a whole new set of little issues to deal with.

I think I'm gonna sleep early for once. inb4 I wake at like 8am.

Yeah that pisses me off too, I had over a decade of maintenance receipts in the glove box, and made a whole schedule I was gonna keep, I don't even know when my CM needs a battery now, but at least it runs good.
>>
>>18689622
Not sure, somewhere around 25 in my 2000 prelude depending on terrain. I live by a city in the mountains so my fuel economy is drastically different depending on where I've been driving.
Also noticed that the fucking original fuel filter was still on the car so I replaced it recently.
Before, the gauge would read empty and I would still have a solid 5 gallons left in the tank.
About to fill up for the first time since and my mileage seems oddly low for being "on empty". Guess I'll find out how low I really am in a couple days.
>>
>>18690126
Tbh I hate it but I'm gonna have to deal with it.
At least I know I won't have to deal with drum brakes again. Newer car will probably have less problems since I'll be looking at it instead of just my dad.
>>
>>18690100
Pretty much every cm around me is really showing their age.
>>18690140
Just plan a rough estimate for change if it looks worn enough. Battery is easy to change on Honda's. Way easier than GM's I've delt with.
You at least have some idea of it's maintenance records from the VIN?
