Weird photo, almost looks like it's rolling the wrong way
>>
My friend took the shocks out of his shitbox land yacht 79 Lincoln and scared me shitless it felt like it would roll over in any turn and when he gassed it the rear would scrape and cruising down the road the thing would rock like a row boat in a busy harbor. The thing was a blast

yes, bmw had it in the 7 series since like 2005ish and i believe audi has also used a similar system. the jeep wrangler trailhawks or whatever offroad spec have a gearbox in the middle that can completely disconnect the sway bar for better articulation
>>
>>19275007
>>19277001
pic for reference. this is how bmw does it, it's hydraulically actuated and uses power steering pressure if i remember correctly. is normally a relatively loose connection and gets stiffer as hydraulic pressure is applied

>busted suspension
t. doesn't know how 2CV suspension works
Performance driving was absolutely the last thing on their minds while designing it. They set out to make a car that a farmer could drive across a freshly plowed field while carrying eggs without damaging them, and they did so with flying colors.

There's a big cylinder with springs connecting the front and rear suspension that loads the opposite end suspension when it hits a bump, so the body of the car stays level with minimal effect on the ride quality.

Glad I'm not the only person who's begun to think this. It makes sense most of the time to keep the car from floating, and the rest of the modern setups seem to settle much more quickly than older cars, but then every so often things just get completely goofy over simple issues like a big pot hole or coming off a speed bump.

I'm getting one of these as a project soon.

Quick rundown
>Triumph based front suspension - double wishbone with NO sway bar
>Live rear axle with leaf springs, again NO sway bar
>600kg weight
>Fibreglass body
>Tiny low HP engine

It's basically a British trabant

How do I get more body roll in my mk4 jetta?
>>
I'm thinking about reassembling my front suspension with out the swaybar attached how stupid is this?

(I had to use an angle grinder to remove the swaybar linkages and now I'm waiting for parts but I want to use the car...)
>>
>>19283046
It's less stupid than you might think. As long as it's off you might as well go out and see how far you can lean around the corners for keks.
>>
>>19282951
Put softer springs in it or take the shocks out.

Or both.

Put stiff sway bars on my Miata. Amazing handling on perfect roads. Bouncy handling on average roads. Guess what kind of surface is more common, especially on interesting roads? Took the sway bars off and saved them for the track.

I envy you and your old car. Old crappy cars are way more fun than new cars.
