but really RB for the sound, 2j for everything else

I love the Rb but The 2jz is the better engine. JZ doesn't not have the oil issues theh Rb does plus it is a 3L while the Rb is a 2.6L stock.

I think the LS is a godmachine too, but come on now

Dubs of truth. 2JZ was discontinued way before the 1JZ.

That's debatable. The 1JZ VVTi is a smooth engine with a boatload of torque considering the displacement of it, but the factory turbocharger doesn't flow well, and more to the point... it's missing half a litre. For a long time they've been the "cheap" option compared to the 2JZ, and for good reason, mainly in that they don't tend to hold power as well.

Anyway, for big power builds focused on a 1JZ you are better off using the earlier generation twin turbo engine. The internals are a little stronger, and the stock turbochargers flow better.

Will admit, they sound excellent though.

No idea how complex 2JZ are. But holy fuck the RB26 is in another league for complex design. It's basically from the 80's and there's vacuum lines and shit all throughout. Not to mention the AWD system through the sump.

My nigga

That low end torque is king especially paired with a nice single, and that redline
>>
>>19422041

2JZGTE non-VVTI. RB26DETT are good engines but suffer oil issues if you mod them at all, have to upgrade the oil pump etc

>>19422307

oh cool, the fad that was and is gayer than stance. lets slap a pushrod V8 into a small car so some idiot 20 year old kid can rip around with a nose-heavy car without a proper chassis for the power

welcome to 70s-early 90s Nissans, albeit i had a RB20DET Skyline and it wasnt that bad

i had a Datsun pickup with the Z24 engine, you want vacuum lines look at those things.
