you guys say that corvettes are affordible supercars but the based model zr1 is over a hundred grand. that's gtr/porsche/etc money. the car is great but where is this affordability meme coming from?
>>
>>19565831
Depreciation. That thing costs 20k in a few years and the Porsche appreciated lol.
>>
>>19565841
but that's still not even true. most C6s are still in the sixty thousand dollar range. you can definetly get 911s at that price, which i'd argue is about the performance level the c6 was meant to compete against right? this car isn't known for anything but performance but if it loses out on that against a porsche it really makes it hard to justify. the only thing one could say is that it's easier to maintain.
>>
>>19565831
The z06 is better anyway and costs around 80k, and that is the top trim, the top trim for a car like the gtr which is the nismo starts at 150k, and the other cars are even more.
>>
>>19565831
They said Sportscar not supercar
>>
>>19565831
The performance you get with it is the value.
>>
>>19565831
Because a Corvette only costs 55k retard
>>
>>19566575
Do people compare these ring lap times because it takes so long that the difference in times is more exaggerated? On any normal track it would be milliseconds.
>>
>>19566614
Well, yeah it's all just sad benchracing, but I was trying to glean whether it was a useful metric once upon a time or if it was just a tradition thing that some reviewers liked to throw down times there.
>>
>>19566629
So I'm right. Got it.
>>
>>19566638
No I don't care what car does what. I just wanted to know why the ring was the defacto standard for lap time comparison.
>>
>>19565930
how is the z06 top trim when zr1 is the top trim ?

>base GTR is 99k
>carrera is 100k with a few options
where is this affordability meme coming from?
>>
You can't get a 2.9 0-60 in a $120k Porsche.
>>
>>19566651
Base 911 is onions and doesn't even have an lsd
Base gtr is a Sentra with turbos
>>
>>19565831
Other supercars start at multiple hundreds of thousands

Depends on what you want. A grand sport is arguably one of the greatest recent sports cars that fits the bill for everything and it only costs 70k.
A comparable Porsche will cost about double.
Is it better? Again, it could be argued. Porsche has a better finish and build quality. But it depends on who you ask and who cares if an extra 70k is worth it.
>>
>>19565831
Because it competes with cars above 200k. Also, the base models start at 60-70k
>>
>>19565862
Are you retarded?
