Do burr hangs actually work? Can't burrs climb trees?

I would never walk 200ft to a cooking area or my bear bag.
Mostly because i would be drunk.
200ft is excessive.

No. Its pretty damn simple.
Keep your shit in a cooler
Keep cooler in back of truck/trunk of car
>>
>>1079292
Oh, car.
>>
>>1079295
If you hike in. Take only sealed, single serving food, and make sure you can burn packages that are empty

Get /out/

Whether or not they work depends on a number of factors. The two main factors as to whether or not a bag works are the competence of whoever set up the bag and the craftiness of the local bears.

Its nearly impossible to render your food storage bear completely proof but a properly set up bear bag can provide decent protection against lazy/stupid bears.

Solution (if you're a real man)

Square off
Go toe to toe
Bear gets dropped like a punk

they work and not adjlt beard cant get on the limbs you hang them but the cubs are sent to retrive it. also some bears learned to undo the rope.
>>
Why is everyone on this board so fucking scared of bears?
>>
>>1080054
murricans lot's of them
gigantic pussies generally
>>
>>1080082
Yeah
What the fuck just bang your frying pan against a tree every hour or so or some shit and that faggot bear wont come close at all
>>
>>1080083
the only bigger pussy than the murrican is the aussie as it turns out.
>>
>>1079298
This. If they can't smell it it, they have no reason to get into it.

Repackaging things like rice, flour and sugar into soda bottles is enough to keep the mice and bears out of it and also waterproofs it.

>car camping
>burning trash
>being afraid of animals
>>
>>1079292
>hurr durr everyone goes camping with their fucking car
>>
>repackage food in to ziplocks
>store all ziplocks in a thick drybag
>hoist drybag some way up a tree
literally why even worry? It's a few minutes work. The main thing is your food being where you are not, in case there *is* a bear.

Been to both countries, can confirm
>>
>>1079260
Yes, they can climb trees.

However, they cannot levitate the 6 feet away from the trunk to where your hanging food bag is.
Are you really that dumb?

Bears can climb trees but the whole point is to get them to go towards the bag and break the limb, causing them to fall and get dead

Only if they're level 18+, bonus racial feat. They also can cast Otto's Irresistible Dance once per day as a free action at level 18, but they usually save that for daily farming pic-a-nic baskets.
