In a SHTF/post apocalypse situation, what valuable skills would you bring in addition to bushcraft?

Can you fix electronics? Do surgery? Grow food? Synthesize chemicals from nature? Smith weapons? Build houses?
>>
>>997257
I just keep loads of pdfs covering any skills and situations I need. When I need a skill I'll learn it through trial an error. Thats how I learned to stitch myself up as a kid
>>
I'm focused on emergency medicine, suturing and the likes. I've been an EMT and studied wilderness medicine. I also have some background in gunsmithing, welding and mechanical repair. It's good to have one strong focus and diversify from there.
I also like pina coladas and getting caught in the rain.
>>
>>997257
i went to trade school to weld, i can sew, self taught auto mechanic with engine building experience, can cook and hunt, and do a bunch of other lil shit all pretty decent. Maybe its just a superiority complex but i feel like i would be fine post apocalypse assuming niggers dont shoot me in my sleep first. I dont even have a hoard or BOB or any of that prepperfag shit. Just a handgun and a rifle, with a couple hundred rounds for each, enough food in my house for 2-3 weeks and i keep my gas tank topped off
>>
>>997267
And how are you accessing these PDF files in a situation without a functioning electric grid?
>>
>>997257
I know how to grow crops, spin and knit fibre, I'm a pretty awesome shot despite not being a gun nut, have a pretty expansive foraging knowledge, including botanical medicine... I'd probably be useful in the first few years of reestablishment but end up back in obscurity once things stabilized.
>>
>>997288
Checkmate
>>
>>997312
This, plus a good bank of batteries and a phone works. I could easily rig up a generator in an apocalypse scenario
>>
>>997288
lmao just cause the grid goes down doesnt mean electricity ceases to exist
>>
>>997282
>i keep my gas tank topped off

as if waterways arent polluted enough as is
>>
I'm a pretty good storyteller so I'd probably be either a wandering bard providing entertainment, or a herald for some conquering warlord.
>>
I've got a pretty broad range of practical skills, but I'm not a specialist or expert at anything. I think my most valuable skills are my learning skills. I self-teach pretty effectively and pick stuff up quickly when I've got the opportunity to learn from someone else.

I've also been told I have good leadership skills, which I guess is true but I haven't spent much time cultivating them because it's a role I'm a bit uncomfortable in.
>>
>>997257
Jack of all trades here.
Guess I would be the bard in this adventure.
>>
>>997339
this makes no sense to me what are you implying?
>>
>>997257
if SHTF I'm going to conquer Cascadia and create a great Islamic republic allahu akbar

>ill save all these electronic engineering pdfs so i can restore power to my devices
>>

I am a qualified master tailor. I can make any item of mens or womens clothing from underwear through to leather vests and Arctic cold weather stuff. I can sew nylon and make molle stuff as well. Get me a pattern, a decent sewing machine and canvas and I can sew a tent if you want.
>>
>>997756
This should do the trick anon

All of the above. It seems the older you are the more skills you acquire. It is much like an MMORPG. Although, picking up shitposting as a skill I'm sure has replaced some skills I would be normally learning now and degrading already learned skills.

I know everything there is to know about every battery chemistry that has ever existed. I would be able to set up solar/battery systems for power using any cells the group could scavenge and make them last as long as possible. I could also restore "dead" batteries to a useful capacity a few times.
>>
A bit of mechanical. Firearm use. First-aid. Some blacksmithing. Woodworking. Gardening/farming. K9 SAR.

I think I would be pretty useful.

here's a good reading OP

I've thought for a while now that if an apocalypse does happen, the library would actually be a good place to hole up for at least a few days since most Americans don't even remember libraries and would be too busy shooting each other over bottled water in Walmart.
>>
>>997847
Can you do it by hand though? Or are you rusty from using machines all the time?
>>
>>997847

Keep in mind a lot of materials won't be available.
>>
I am in the process of learning how to smelt steel from ore using natural materials, did it once and it failed because I used cement chimney blocks instead of clay and several other small reasons.

>>
>>997844

>>
>>997859
lol, no shit. but when you master it then it becomes just as useful as any other skill. look at the memelords getting that ad revenue.

i mean fuck, i trolled a bitch so hard i'm getting sued. i have like 80 people a day check my snapchat that i don't even know.

it's allowed me to see the darker side in everyone and see that i'm not alone in being a depressed and sad peice of shit
>>
>>997875

Automated grow systems and communications are nice. Most of us would like to olay our favorite games still in our down time.

Plus youre making a mess and wasting a bullet.

Unless we have resorted to eating each other please no kys
>>
>>1001129
You'd still be useful, if we had to restart society, we'd at least have some level of computing power, it's not like we'd go so far back as to bashing shit with rocks.
>>
>>1001167
I imagine like the 80s with a quick rebuild assuming a government that didnt suck dicks rose from the ashes and we could concentrate on fixing our shit
