No astrophotography thread so I'll start here is a picture of Jupiter I took March 20th 2017 after 2am est using my cellphone mounted over the eyepiece telescope is a Celestron nextstar 5se eyepiece was a 10mm eyepiece. Sadly I can't figure out how to get the bands and the moon's at the same time so..

I assume Peltier thermal regulated. How do you stop condensation and icing on the sensor?

Yeah It's peltier but neither icing nor condensation builds up on the sensor, don't ask me why because I don't know. I have only problems with condensation on my telescope mirror and my filters during moist nights. Mostly on the filters but never on the sensor itself.

Does this thread welcome landscape astro shots?
Since the galactic center is finally appearing near me I ventured out to get a few shots. My area seriously lacks good places w/o light pollution.

This is awesome. I've never gone any farther than holding a camera to the eyepiece and snapping photos of the moon so I can't say whether or not it would be worth the cost/effort, but a lot of the best pictures I've seen of the planets were taken with a webcam. You take a short video of the planet and then use software called Registax to stack the individual frames together and bring out the more subtle details. (I'm assuming you're not the guy with the CCD a few posts down; sorry if you already know all of this.)

I'm a little jealous. I live too far north, by the time the galactic core is supposed to appear in my sky there is no darkness left. T-T Took this last night around 3am though.

This is my very first star trail shot. This was made using only half the pictures I took but it got a weird affect using all of them so I scaled it back to here.

a star. idk which one

That shot is about 40 miles SW of NYC, the galactic core barely gets above horizon, but the entirety of it will show through the night during the summer. I'm eventually going to learn how to shoot landscapes with it in a longer focal length, maybe around 50mm. I want to combine this with portrait photography and bring models to shoot with the galactic core as a background. I'm envious of the low light pollution you get, I have to drive 50 miles before I can even get a decent shot of it. The people up north get the Aurora, I never seen that with my own eyes, so it's not all bad for you.

New Jersey clearly has an agenda against people using their public grounds after sunset, since about 90% of all those places have no parking access after sunset.

Yeah, I live in Alaska, This shot was taken about 5 miles north of a tiny hole in the ground called Willow which is about 80 Miles north of Anchorage AK. It will only get to Astronomical twilight for another month or so, and even then only for an hour-ish. Then I get about 3 months where astro shots are impossible. And it happens to be the best months for galactic core.

No I used StarStax, to blend the images, that one is a stack of about 50 pictures. 20 second exposures taken 4 seconds apart.
