Aye /p/ anyone else shooting vintage lenses?

Report in here and share your work.
Please tell what you are using and why.

Poorfag as I am I didn't want to spend 500 bucks on the Sony 18 105 / 18 135 and instead got a Minolta MD 35 105

Boy is it fun. It is obviously not the best lens for quick snapshits due to the manual but I found that if you have time on your hands it's nice to focus manually and play around with the thing.

I miss the OSS quite a bit but 105 is manageable when it comes to handshake I think.

Critique very welcome

I shoot exclusively with vintage Nikon glass because of how cheap it is, and it giving me the ability to use the same lenses on my FA and F4 as I use on my D750. My favorite's been my 50 1.4, and this one was taken with my 35 2.

I've always been a sucker for old Pentax lenses, pic related is the older Pentax SMC 50/1.4

I actually like it more than the pentax-m or a lenses due to it's build, it's like a tank
>>
Great contribution.

I don't get why people spend thousands of dollars on lenses. I mean, image stabilization and such is nice to have, but not hundreds of dollars nice.

Folks around here keep saying old lenses are crap will hopefully have a look.

A lot of primes, mostly 50mm. Very few zoom, that I use rarely anyway. I use them more than my Canon EF one because I have a knack for their handling and renders.

Also have a SMC Pentax-A 28mm f/2.8, not a great lens but the nicest feeling focus ring I've ever felt. Had a 135mm f/2.5 (can't remember if it was M or A) which also wasn't great but I made a good profit on it. Replaced it with a CZJ 135mm f/3.5 which is sharper wide open than the Pentax was stopped down even slower.

This is ridiculously sharp

I am pretty poor, I found an old analog 20€-eBay-camera-type Ricoh with a 50mm kit lens in my basement and decided to just use it, since I never had the time to actually pick one cheap camera that I want to buy.

I limited myself to 25€ for each piece of equipment. Never had problems finding something - I got a teleconverter, a tele lens, reverse ring, extension tubes, all vintage, all working fine and looking good. This is why I shoot film in the first place, equipment is readily available, cheap, and stuff is just compatible. Newer cameras all have electronics in the lenses, so adapters/rings/lenses in general aren't always compatible without annoying workarounds, often involving cutting off pins, tape etc.
