But I thought this was a board for making paper hats and paper boats? But seriously you guys have no tutorials or nothing for introduction threads for people to get started. Not even paper airplanes. Sad!

It's said that if you fold a paper crane 1000 times, you'll have 1000 paper cranes
>>
>>554180
>It literally means "Chinese Letters"
Yes, but some kanji used in Japan are different from the Chinese ones.

For instance. the character for "paper" is:
纸 in Chinese;
紙 in Japanese.
That second one is a Japanese kanji when the first one is a Chinese kanji.

Kanji = chinese letter, no such thing as a japanese kanji.

First one is simplified so it's easier to write, bottom one is the old version Japan copied.

What about the characters made in Japan but still in the kanji list(s)?
Like 働, 俤, 畑, 颪, etc.
>>
>>555405

Yeah I admit that they did adapt some kanji to make it their own throughout the years. I guess some "Japanese Kanji" do exist.

Even besides
>>555405
the nips use kanji differently to the chinks. They may share the characters but they dont all have the exact same meaning.

>>
>>555418
Some of the PRC Simplified glyphs were actually copied from the "shinjitai" Japanese simplified kanji. The only totally unsimplified scripts are Taiwan/HK traditional and Korean Hanja, the latter of which is dead and unloved.
