Even Democrats at The Washington Post think President Trump will win reelection in 2020. What kind of meltdown would the Left have if he did, after years of their incessant Resistance and tantrums?

You have Alex Jones in office and when he leaves it he's free to start an Internet show to expose the Illuminati. He's gonna be a major figure as an ex-President.

The majority of Americans agree with Dems on most of the issues. The problem is that we need better representatives of those issues. Blatant hypocrisy is why we've been losing. We can't expect to win when we have the Clintons, the Weiners, and the Weinsteins as our social-justice representatives. I dislike Bernie too for other reasons. I wasn't at all thrilled with our 2016 bench.

If the economy is doing OK, Trump wins. If we're in the middle of a war, Trump wins. Doesn't matter who runs against him.

Lol biden will be way too old, and all the creepy kid stuff will come out full force if he runs. The best chance the dems have is Kamala Harris, and they will use her in 2024 and roll over in 2020. That being said, 8 years of Trump may permanently reverse the demographic trend and make the dems a regional party since they have railroaded themselves into identity politics. Time will tell.

Yeah well no shit. Even though the Republicuck Congress has done jackshit, Trump himself has done a substantial amount through executive order. And his approval ratings still average around 40%. If the Congress actually passes tax reform, Obamacare repeal, infrastructure and immigration reform, its not hard to see these numbers rising to 50, more than enough for reelection
>>
The Dems like the Republicans are in the midst of a low key civil war. The DNC is gambling that Trump will have a major scandal in office probably connected with Russia, so they can pull a complete establishment candidate, "lesser-evilism" is the only thing they got and will have going.

If the Russia investigation does not result in Trumps impeachment, then the Dems are in complete freefall. They are also not going to win any major mid-term seats they way it looks like. After that the only way to win the presidency is to put some complete charismatic outsider that is not a complete corporate stooge.

Trump winning another four years is the best thing that could happen to Democrats. It gives them time to get the party under control for the 2022 midterms and retool the image into something worth voting for, not this ridiculous mishmash of special interests disguised as a "party."

After the destruction of Mitt Romney at the polls, and after the shutdowns in government that cost Americans billions, people predicted a schism in the Republican party that would permanently shatter it. Some believe that it has occurred with the selection of Trump as the GOP's candidate and with his successful election. While the schism might be cracks in the Republican party, they've got nothing on the impact crater that has shattered the Democratic Party. You have people within the party openly calling for racial discrimination for the first time since 1964. You have the old guard Democrats wrestling with the millennials for control over the candidate selection, and when they couldn't stop the momentum of the millennials they literally RIGGED THE GAME to deny them their franchise. The limousine liberals are butting heads with champagne socialists over the concept of free speech, an issue that should have been decided decades ago after the farcical PMRC (led by Tipper Gore) crashed and burned in front of Congress. The "Liberal Media," once a conspiracy theory laughed at by the rank-and-file Democrats, has been exposed by the very journos themselves through their irrational hatred of Donald Trump and their desire to see the man hanged for a crime, any crime, real or imagined. We now have Democrats openly espousing Socialist philosophies on Twitter and setting aside the old "Logic and Reason" so they can virtue signal to their base (See this most recent example of the Democrat in California who fought to make intentionally infecting unwitting sexual partners with HIV a crime because the law was "homophobic").
>>
>>144376128
If the Democratic cockroaches are snuffed out as a result I am willing to deal with Trump a second term.
>>
>>144384996
Here is something that needs to be repeated to people who mention polls. Context matters.

Trump has approval rating in 30s so thats bad right? Heres the thing, on average politicians in general have bad ratings. Macrons rating is only in the 40s. May is 34. Hell even Merkel who everyone is supposed to love only got 59 at one point. In the us, Congress has like 19% or even less approval.

We are in an age where despite being in a better state than ever, we hate politicians more than ever.

So even if many disapprove of him, it's not like other politicians are doing much better especially in the us where most have even worse ratings.

Even if trump ratings suck, if the others can't be any better then he's still gonna win by default.

This is true

After Romney lost, republicans between 2012-2015 just got really quiet. They had some low-energy tea party rallies and all that shit, but it never meant anything and nobody cared. They just kinda chilled out.

Dems have not done this. They cranked all of their bullshit up to 11. They are tripling down on all the things that are not working for them, and being as loud about it as humanly possible.

I am sure they will re-group somehow...but I don't know

All of this behavior has alienated the very base the Democrats relied on for years to maintain their hold on houses across the nation: Working class moderates. Their bread-and-butter voters used to be the Unions, and when the Unions started to fall apart the voters never went away, they remained loyal to the idea of the party. The working class is a hard lot, they understand that people make mistakes, the party that spoke to their interests the most was often the one that expressed an interest in alleviating their suffering. That party is now gone. Their suffering wasn't even a campaign issue for the Democrats, who focused their time and attention on shitting on Trump rather than campaigning in the Rust Belt. These working class voters saw the direction the party wanted to go: More immigrants, more globalism. For a working class person, all they see there are lost jobs. Then Trump shows up, tells them they're not bad people for being white or working class. Tells them they're the backbone of America. Tells them their needs and desires matter. Tells them their jobs matter. Tells them their way of life matters. And what does Hillary come back with?

"I'm with her."

It might as well be "Get in line."
>>
>>144386121
they are already essentially done as a party, the chickens just havent had time to come home to roost.

the whole DNC debacle with bernie sanders, the corruption and collusion in order to lift a seriously flawed HRC who is publically seen to be corrupt by a large block of swing voters, the email scandal, the emerging anwan scandal, it goes on and on and on.

The DNC is finished. And Trump (or Bannon rather) is working on exterminating the last living RINOS, so the GOP as we know it is also on its last legs.

Good for America. Good for the world. Trump 2016 is the best thing to happen politically for decades.

I am not doubting that Trump was a politically good change and a wake up call. All I am saying is that the stakes for 2024 are significantly higher. The dems are not even facing a charismatic leader like Reagan that oversaw a great geopolitical victory for America. US does not have enemies like Soviet Union to rally against, so if the dems really hollow out by 2024 then really a third major party will be a reality and you might even have coalition governments like in Europe.

So now the Democrats have a real opportunity to take control of their party by ousting the identity politics from the party. They can maintain their appeal with minorities by addressing their concerns at the local level while campaigning nationally for changes that would help alleviate the suffering of these groups IF they had a sincere desire to help themselves (i.e. Welfare for working families, tax breaks for minority businesses in impoverished areas). They need to root out these racists that pretend to be anything other than Barry Goldwater in blackface. They're a disease who's only function is to swallow resources and spit out more problems. The party needs to shore up support for new blood entering the main stage by finding people that appeal to average Americans and not people who look good on a IdPol checklist. They need to forget Kamala Kahn and Corey Booker, they're shit candidates (Booker took big pharma money and denied Americans cheaper prescription drugs, Kahn kept a man in prison in spite of a Federal order of release because territorial pissing). They need to focus on war vets and governors, and they might as well start with Tulsi Gabbard and Roy Cooper. They need to stop pushing for open borders and instead push for total assimilation of our nation's existing population of illegals and ghettoized minority groups before we start seeing problems from second generation migrant children like Europe has today.

And the Democrats need to get behind better border security. Just build the fucking wall, already. If nothing else, it's a giant Federal project that'll inject billions into the economy of the border states. A better jobs program you will not find in this day and age.

The demographic trend means jack shit, latinos apart from cubans were not going to vote republican anyway. Trump knows the winning strategy is to get the mid-west and the east coast rust belt states. He looks absolutely DESTROYED when he adresses the nation with bad news. He DOES like the attention he gets and he always liked negotiating. I guess we'll see in 3 years.

There is no constitutional backdrop for coalition (parliamentary) governments like in europe, in the USA. Either they are on the same ticket during the elections, or they are opposition. And once the winner is declared, that party has total power (disregarding constitutional checks on power) to make executive decisions. USA is winner take all.

Sure, you could set up some kind of cooperative agreement behind the scenes, but without the legilation to enforce it, lets just wait and see how long any such agreement would actually last in cut-throat american politics, yeah?

I can't fucking stand Trump - I agree with him on some things, not on others, but for fucks sake he's a sitting president getting into Twitter beefs with NBA stars. He's an embarrassment.

With that said, he IS going to win another 4 years for one simple reason - producers of work and wealth (majority white) are absolutely fed the fuck up with being told they're racists and chauvinists anytime they disagree with a barista leech with dreadlocks, or a welfare queen, or an empty nightly news anchor, etc. They're fucking tired of it from the coal miners of West Virginia to the farms in Iowa to every blue collar laborer coast to coast. And the more they vomit this shit on the American people because they think it'll play well on Twitter, the more they ensure their irrelevancy for decades to come.

The surest path to a two term Trump is to keep virtue signaling about race and gender. Because we've reach the point where most Americans will pull the lever for the Fuck You candidate just to shut it up for a day.

>low black turnout, less solid due to low black unemployment
>NC, OH, IA solidly red for now
>Cuban pandering for Florida
>less regulation leads to more jobs for blue collar workers in the rustbelt
He got this.

The election of Donald Trump is a gift for the Democrats. It puts a wildly unpopular president that is at odds with his own party in the White House. The only way you could contain him any further would be by literally locking him in a metal box. Sure, he's crass and says stupid shit, but if that's the only problem he causes to the United States, it's a godsend. If the country votes him in for a second term, so much the better. The Democrats can't make the changes they need overnight, that would cause a very real splintering into what would probably be the most hilariously dysfunctional third party in history, but it is a problem the Democrats will want to avoid. In the meantime, you can bet your ass the Republican party is trying to find a way to prevent another Trump from hijacking their party again, which is the mistake the Democrats made when deliberately torpedoing the Sanders campaign. No, Sanders would not have likely beaten Clinton or Trump, but the loss would have been the natural course of Democracy, which is the promise made by that founding document we keep under bulletproof glass.

The Democrats must unfuck their party for their bread and butter voter base to come back. They're not doing it by constantly frothing at the mouth whenever Trump shows his face on camera. It's going to take time, reason, logical thought, deliberate maneuvering, and more than a little old fashioned campaigning.

Also: Get rid of the Clintons. If I see Chelsea Clinton standing next to Oprah and the Rock during a campaign fundraiser in 2018, I'll vote to re-elect Trump out of spite. I don't care what he does.

I agree, but I do believe that the change in the democratic party will come quicker than that. 2018 is around the corner and they will have plenty of time and money to centralize their powers in the party.

That's retarded, though. If he actually survives re-election, it would mean he isn't as bad as you faggots thought he was.

never underestimate liberals during an election campaign, especially when they still dominate the media

Listened to NPR on the way home from work Friday morning. Lower ranking Democrats are grumbling that the Boomers won't let go of power.
>>
>>144379835
That's what the Dems were saying about the Republicans in 2008. Never underestimate the enemy.

If they were going to kill him, I think it would have happened by now. We're beyond the threshold now, and nothing the deep state can do will restore the previous status quo.

Thanks for the update frenchbro. My point exactly. He was supposed to be the more progressive one and yet his rating is no better than trump. The fact is we have all the info now. We know politicians are full of shit and don't expect them to help. Historical averages don't mean. Much since they didn't have twitter or YouTube to expose them.

I bet any posters from other countries can post their politician and chances are their approval ratings aren't good either.
>>
>>144387165
That's because there's actually three parties.
Democrats, Republicans, and the invisible Monoparty.
The actual Republicans don't outnumber the Democrats+Monoparty, so they can't do anything they want.
>>
>>144388232
I see a actual problem of the Dems is that they completely split their voter base into so many faction that are completely incompatible with each other.
>idpol
>classic european liberalism
>social democracy leaning at parts hard into socialism
>economy vs ecology
>science is our religion at the same time go hard after science and scientific work as it's "dangerous" and loving to present actual pseudo science as the ultimate truth
>no actual model for the ghettos that exist, throwing money in the form of welfare at it won't help, neither will housing "ghetto dweller" in a middle class neighborhood...
>the entire pro/anti military people
>pretending to represent everyday joe while the entire party front is pretty made up of upper middle/upper class born people that never worked a single day in their life

It's pretty much a wonder that they're not openly fighting with each other on a daily base. We saw the party split at the DNC "Bernie Walkout" and since then nothing to heal that happened or could actually work.

Hillary's still attacking Bernie voters. Dems have no hope at 2020.

>upper class
There's technically no upper class in this country; and this is a major, endless source of problems, lad
>>
>>144390322
I agree and I see no hope for them atm. All that holds the dems together today is
>hurrr Drump is ebil n literally hitler
they have no other common ground

>>144390480
I would rather say there's no real middle class left anymore. There's a clear upper and lower class and all the rest is fluid between the two. They have more then enough but are one bad event short of falling back into the rock bottom lower class and one very good event short of becoming part of the 10% that can live from passive income for generations.
>>
>>144390912
No, there is a middle class, and they're the source of the problems. It's always "muh freedumbs" with those people, and they're always destabilising society because their wives want excitement...

If somebody tells the middle class that sexual perversity is a "freedumb" they'll never stop trying to get it until they have it, not that such a thing is actually good for them.

>silent majority

Hillary had more votes. Not saying I'm not glad he won but we aren't the majority here.
Maybe they are changing tactics, instead of brainwashing everyone with Hillary's certain win, they write about Trumps certain reelection to lure all the lefties out to vote.
