Those opening 20 minute heel promos are almost always boring. Vince himself basically was the originator of them in ‘98 and they were interesting for maybe half a year to a year at the most. Then WWF/E basically never stopped doing them. Maybe they don’t do it as often now, I haven’t been a regular viewer in a long time. I will say that whether the brand split was happening or not, these promos were less ubiquitous on Smackdown which is why I always preferred it to Raw, even if it was usually obviously the B show.
