The smark internet wrestling pundits (such as Jim Cornette) have many lies. I have posted other threads addressing them (entitled THE SMARKS AND THEIR LIES)

Lets address another lie being promoted atm, which is that Vince Russos success was conditional upon ''having a filter'' (this is being pushed by people afraid hel revive the attitude format atm).

Here the argument is thoroughly refuted (as are some other myths such as the claim that he failed in WCW - when in fact 90% of his material was blocked by executives in WCW as stated by Kevin Nash)

The truth is that Russos success was conditional upon him having full creative control, and virtually no filter.

vince was indeed the filter. wanna know how i know? because the WCW in 2000 is what happens when there is no filter.
>>
>>19412115

did you not see Kevin Nash saying in the interview that 90% of Russos material was blocked by execs in WCW ?
>>
>>19412133
So what you're saying is Russo in WCW needed to be filtered even harder than 90%
>>
>>19412138
Russo needs 99% of his ideas filtered and he's great.
>>
>>19412138

WCW thought hes stuff was too edgy, and the standards and practices officer blocked most of it, according to Kevin Nash

yeah wcw beat wwf by presenting realism and wwf up'd the ante with the crash tv style, but wcw was never allowed to respond. would have been interesting if they moved wcw to a later time slot, like 11pm after Raw went off the air and let them do their version. what could have been

based

Lmao no wonder he can't help but destroy a company he's always stoned
>>
>>19412718
Back then execs would have wanted them moved to HBO before letting them do harder stuff
>>
>I totally could have gotten huge ratings they just needed to let me do every single thing I wanted to do with no oversight and it would have worked great.
Vic Venom thinks he a fucking auteur or something? He was running a blockbuster video in sheepshead bay 4 years before that and he thinks Time Warner should just give him 5 hours of prime time cable programming to do whatever he wants without running it by anyone? The nuts on this gavone I tell ya.
>>
>>19412115
if vince was such a great filter then why was everything so ass after 2000
>>
>>19411941
It's always funny to me how Russotards can never admit the guy is ever at fault for anything, it's always entirely someone else, despite the fact he went to work for 2 other major promotions and sank them under the ground when he was given full creative control.
>>
>>19413516
a very good point, once mcmahon got full control of the industry he proceeded to tank it.
>>

these same execs had no problem with david arquette as world champion so clearly their judgement was trash. besides, everyone knows WCW died by corporate merger. putting the blame on Russo for WCW dying is kinda silly because once that merger happened they were fucked regardless.

>company goes limp and stale with 0 competition
a tale that predates wrestling and is old as time

If you're going to talk to yourself at least make it less obvious

A reminder that if Vince McMahon hadn't been filtering Russo during the Attitude Era, Jeff Jarrett would've been WWF Champion.
>>
>>19411941
can this unc die already
>>
>>19414839
>Jeff Jarrett would've been WWF Champion.
true. goddamn, imagine that fucking nightmare. WCW probably would regain their ratings lead.
