DDP beating Goldberg in 98 is the equivalent of Kane beating Brock Lesnar in 2002.

DDP headlined BATB 98, Road Wild 98, Fall Brawl 98, Halloween Havoc 98, World War 3 98... & the PPV buyrates weren't special besides the first two because of the celebrity involvement. Where is the logic in having a 43 year old main event support act in Diamond Dallas Page, ending your 33 year old new face of the company franchise babyface & future of the company in Bill Goldberg's streak?
DDP?Goldberg headlined Halloween Havoc 1998 with support from Hogan/Warrior & the PPV buyrate BOMBED.

Kevin Nash was a younger, more over, bigger drawing option that DDP hence why Starrcade 1998 drew the 3rd best PPV buyrate in WCW history WITHOUT Hogan on the card.

Nash was the right choice to end the streak. YOU ARE A MARK if you think otherwise.

Nash never drew a dime.

Neither Nash,DDP or Goldberg could wrestle. 90s fans were just as retarded as the modern fans.

at least 90s fans actually got some actual entertaining shows out of it. modern fans missed out on an era when wrestling was once a part of the culture in mainstream society.

they missed out on a time when everybody (be it family and friends) used to host actual wrestling watch parties (WWF and/or WCW) in the form of barbecues and even order PPV events too.

unfortunately, modern fans are further contributing to wrestling remaining a stigma because wrestling has already become a parody of itself for the past 15 years.

Nash ending was stupid and unnecessary. Obviously it had to end but at least get some heat out of it. DDP ending it is dumb also. Jericho would have actually made sense but they never would have and he was always going to leave. Really it should have been Scotty Steiner. They should have extended the streak or moved up the timeline for Steiner’s push and had him end the streak and created an actual rivalry.

He drew a lot of black semen

>goldberg holds the belt for a little longer
>nash and hogan actually have their match
>goldberg-hogan II ends up with hogan winning after nwo gets back together
>goldberg runs through nwo and beats hogan in the rubber match
>goldberg holds the belt until people get tired of him and there's some face people desperately want to beat him

There, fixed it.

Should of been tank abbot

Tank was a wild boy. I vividly remember a multi man tag match where Tank came out with 3 count vs the Jung Dragons and he had his nipples cut out of his shirt. They never mentioned it once. Just had his nips out.

Bit esoteric, no?

The one time Vince Russo was right

The reason DDP beating Goldberg makes sense is that it means you don't need to do the rematch straight away (you never do for face vs face matches), so it stops Goldberg losing two PPVs in a row. If you put the title on Steiner, then you either a) have Goldberg lose in the rematch or b) have Goldberg "injured" for a few months and run the risk of that pissing fans off.

I think it should have been Steiner but it was months too early for his push. He was just solidifying his character and hadn’t even started his feud with DDP yet for another month or two and hadn’t turned on Buff yet. Just keep it on Goldberg for another few months and put the rocket on Steiner as he was getting mega over and was one of the most entertaining things every week. I even like the idea of him beating him twice. Goldberg has beaten 200 people or whatever but there’s this one guy he just can’t beat and creates a real feud.
