Gunther is already established, giving LA Knight the win over Cena would have finally got him over the line
LET ME TAP TO YA
He’s too old to push to the top now
>people think goonther is the best choice that can create the “i will make u tap!!” drama in cena’s match simply because he pulled a new move out of his ass for thisThis is so stupid. LA is also too old so this tournament was all stupid.
>>19427235Cena is not gonna have his last match with a gay porn star
>>19427403
>>19427389They set up a story to work the match around in advance? That's a really good sign.
July 2025>Gunther retires GoldbergDecember 2025>Gunther retires CenaYou are here.July 2026>Gunther retires AJDecember 2026>Gunther retires ReyJuly 2027>Gunther retires OrtonDecember 2027>Gunther retires ZigglerJuly 2028>Gunther retires DrewDecember 2028>Gunther retires BrockJuly 2029>Gunther retires RomanDecember 2029>Gunther retires CodyJuly 2030>Gunther retires TheoryDecember 2030>Gunther retires Dom
>>19427434He still won't be over
>>19427500Then we'll have to up it to 3 or 4 retirements a year.
>>19427412>a factual statement was posted againDuh
>>19427235Could it be that perhaps the world doesn't revolve around LA Knight?
>>19427235Going over Cena in his retirement match isn't going to be viewed as much of an accomplishment after the odd Brock squash at Wrestlepalooza and the loss to Dom. Neither Knight nor Gunther would be elevated much by the win. The booking of this Farewell Tour has been inexcusably bad, and anyone involved with Creative right know who later tries to defend it will be exposed as a retard for making the attempt. Once Cena inexplicably turned face again before dropping the belt back to Cody at Summerslam, he's been a sideshow act.Knight can potentially rebound from this decisive stomping with a few good midcard programs where he can shine on the mic, but his biggest obstacle appears to be that some important people backstage (I don't know who) seem to be opposed to elevating him to main event status.I'm with that group of fans who will be disappointed if they book Gunther to win by tapout. It will be a disgraceful way to end Cena's career and, again, it won't elevate Gunther any higher than he stands now. This match should be an exception to the "time-honored tradition" where the retiring legend "does the honors" and "gives back to the business." Unnecessarily shitting on the legacy of Mr. "Never Give Up" by having him tap out in his last match just because he never has will be a disappointment to many and a benefit to none. They ought to have Gunther play up his obsession with being the only man to make Cena tap and let this be the cause of his downfall, sending Cena off with a victory. We'll see how it goes.
>>19429487We all know it doesn't, but we also know it should.
>>19429935His biggest obstacle is that he can't cut a promo without stammering and pausing to think of what to say next.
>>19429961I gotta admit that his worsening CTE is on the list obstacles he has to try to overcome, but he's good enough on the mic to get over more than most. We know this because he actually is more over than most and his mic work is the reason why.
>>19427235What was wrong with your name?Drake
>>19427235>giving LA Knight the win over Cena would have finally got him over the lineWhat line? Knight is a shitter. He is in way deeper than he should be let's not kid ourselves. He doesn't have the physicality to back up his smack talk.
>>19429935>They ought to have Gunther play up his obsession with being the only man to make Cena tap and let this be the cause of his downfall, sending Cena off with a victory.Damn thats a great idea, they should do that
>>19427235I'm unironically kind of worried that LA Knight will be the next Benoit. There seems to be something off about him
>>19427235i hate wrestling being spoken about purely in terms of "what the booking will do" for someone like you're playing a fantasy booking game and everyone has an "overness" stat you have to managehow about whether the story told within the match or the action within the match will be good? how about the quality of the shit that's actually going to happen on the screen instead of hypotheticals about what it's going to lead to or how it may theoretically look in a legacy retrospective down the line (before the match even happens)?
>>19430313Don't call yourself chris
>>19427235give me a break. Eli Drake will never be the guy.
>>19430488Still better than always goon
>>19430481stop being gay
>>19427235Retiring Cena isn't as much of a push as you'd think, especially after Brock squashed him. It's more about what will make the better match here, and John expressed before he wants Gunther
>>19427235>48 year old veteran putting over 43 year old in his last matchThat would be absolutely retarded.
>>19431570They'd be putting each other over
LA Knight never needs a push. He's a natural born superstar. TNA couldn't make him into a jobber (and god did they try). NWA couldn't make him into a jobber (and god did they try). WWE can't make him a jobber (and god are they trying). But LA Knight is too great to be harmed by booking. 10 years time he'll still be a superstar.
>>19427434April 2031>Gunther does a 450° Shooting Star Press off the top of the Wrestlemania stage and retires himself
>>19427294goonter is 40
>>19427434you forgot Jericho 2026
>>19429987Gunther is boring despite the whole "he has a nazi gimmick" projecting that some dweebs do
>>19430502we don't talk to ourselves here
>>19431691which is why the post being replied to is clearly marked you asspained pickle sniffer
>>19430481They hate you because you’re right
>>19427235man respectfully anyone who thought LA Knight is going to be Cenas last opponent over Gunther is simply fucking retarded as shit, everyone knew the outcome fucking smarks just wanting to cry over something online again
>>19427235No one "needs the push" or "the rub" or whatever, Cena has been enough of a company man and put over these young guys enough that he deserves to just go out on a good match
I find it very strange Cena is having his last match at SNME in December. Of course it's the fiscal year end, but the WWF annual calendar always ends and starts with Wrestlemania. Which makes me believe he won't be finished yet.
>>19432076It could be as simple as scheduling because he needs to go film movies.
>>19427294>Too oldGunther is old as fuck too. Nobody is saying to make LA knight the top guy for the next 20 years but the dude has worked his ass off to get over at least give him a run. Hell even Rick Flair was 51 in his last title reign.
>>19431690Because he's billed as *technical* he's like the modern day William Regal.
>>19432084Yeah you're right. I still have a weird feeling about this. The match isn't even on a major PPV.
>>19431715I bet you typed this on a computer sitting at a desk
>>19432111Aren't they quarterly specials? Those shows have always been loaded
>>19432111I always assumed this is on Saturday Night's main event because it was part of an agreement to leave the PLEs off Peacock early without breaching contract. I am pretty sure there is some violation the WWE did when they just quickly invented new PPVs to get out of the deal quicker
>>19432112What's the alternative?
>>19432142lmao what a sad nerd sitting at a computer all day on the internet in his lil chair at his lil desk leaning in over a lil keyboard
