1) Where's this obsession a retiring legend needs to put over a young guy coming from?
- Ric Flair: Final opponent Shawn Micheals, made man and top star.
- Undertaker: AJ Styles, legend in own right.
- Edge: Sheamus, another future legend in his own right.
- Sting: Won his last match.

And to top it all off, LA Knight isn't even young. The dudes 43. Gunther is younger at 38.

2) They've tried using Cena to put over young guys. They've tried already with Austin Theory and Solo Sikoa and both times failed miserably. The young guys will find their way. Instead of worrying about them, let Cena go out on a high note. Cena has done enough jobs to earn going out on a a good match instead of another attempt to get someone over

He can have a good match with Gunther

The cube

>>19430579
it comes from a time when the top guy in a territory not putting someone over when they go was going to kill your business for a long while
>>
>>19430579
Smarks got it into their heads that every single match has to be about putting a young guy over

Alright brother I'm confused here because Edge is still active. I thought you were making a joke about how his AEW run doesn't count, but Sting lost his final match in WWE and you're acknowledging that he won his retirement match. Sting also lost his final match in TNA but you're not counting Flair's run after 2008 so I'm assuming TNA isn't canon here. What I'm gathering is that you're saying Sting retired in 2001 when he beat Flair on the final Nitro episode? Please respond I have autism

the retirement is a work

Not brock squashing him

That part

well in this case the final opponent is mega dimes with an actual bright future ahead and deserves the win, I don't really care tho either one winning is fine for me

>Flair
WCW guy & not his retirement match

>Mean Mark (Undertaker)
WCW guy

>Damon Striker (Edge)
WCW guy

>Sting
Need i say more? Look at the adjective, OP: retire. WCW guys knew that they carry their own torch into the fog, not hand it off.
Watch only WCW reruns.

This. Obviously you need to grow new talent, but matches with two well established stars who have nothing to prove are always good.

It's the same retards who think Nash beating Goldberg, or Brock beating Taker was bad. There was a thread about Goldberg's streak ending a few days ago which put it very well: they're MARKS!
>>

That was my point when I made this thread, and I forgot I even made it.

People that think they should "give the rub" to a guy like Carmelo or LA Knight seem to miss that this is the JOHN CENA retirement that should be about him, not trying to use it to give a push to a guy just because he needs it. Does LA Knight need a push? Yes, but this isn't it

I'd like to think for Cena it's from the guilt of killing Nexus and being super-Cena overall , burying talent along the way so now the only viable options that he can give back to are pushing 40 and have half the years to push make their name and push the next gen on.
Ultimately, working with the younger talent is the real giving back, win or lose.

These tards think they understand the wrestling business better than Triple H.
>>
>>19430579
I'm 100% sure Cena wants to have a professional match as his final to pay respect to the sport.
He will definitely wipe his boots (sneakers) before getting inside and people will call the match boring but it will go down as a tribute.

Or he will spam the 5 moves of doom and finishers who really knows.
>>
>>19430579
Cena getting retired by a generic looking guy with a generic fucking name will be so fucking funny
>>
>>19432444
Considering everything WWE has done in 2025 I think they do

Sign multibillion dollar deals and pack 46,000 people into a baseball stadium to watch Survivor Series?
