I'm planning on writing my first user script for 4chan, and I'd like some guidance. Should I be targeting Greasemonkey or some other extension? What does most of the userbase use?
>>
Everyone who's cool uses 4chanX, thus they use Greasemonkey. What do you want your script to do?

I'm planning on writing a script that will automatically generate the links whenever someone uses an @ or something equally cheeky to reply to a post. It adds unnecessary difficulty to thread navigation, so I figured I might as well put in the 15 minutes since I browse more than that anyway. Someone else has probably encountered this issue before though, so I'll see what's in the 4chan X repos first. Still, I like the idea of practicing though, so I'll likely write it regardless. Thank you for the info.

Please make it so I can automatically hide frogposters

I wouldn't mind hashing it out, but the design could be a bit tricky. One method would be filtering images that have a large portion of "pepe green", but then you'd miss stuff like diamond pepe. Another would be matching against a collection of known pepe images, but that would require a pepe barneyfag to keep it updated. Filtering posts that people have replied "dumb frogposter" or something to could fill in some gaps. The final product would probably incorporate a number of algorithms. This would be a good place to brainstorm for it though. Anything I'm overlooking?

Train a neural network to identify Pepe.

Brilliant! Now to secure a $10M grant from the NSF. Maybe we could have pepe captchas.

Does it make much of a difference if you do it for grease or for tamper?

Unless your script uses stuff specific to one or the other, it should work in both.

Any progress?

That sounds like a stupid plan.

Reddit.com/r/DeepDream has a bunch of links about neural networks.
