The Grand Line, the ocean of dreams. It is here the World Goverment's throne of power is seated and it is here the Yonkou roam, pirate lords who spit in the face of all who would restrict their rampages.

In this frenzy you are a ant in a storm, a single drop in a bucket of giants and legends that floats adrift in the ocean of the World Goverment's 400 year reign.

But this is YOUR story, not theirs.

Time to tell it.

But what kinda story is it?

>The Age of Gold: Thirty years before a man named Luffy sailed off on his boat, when Roger was just a rookie still content to roam east blue and the Navy was lead by Fleet Admiral Kong.

>A Homebrew: All the cursed fruits and setting elements are still there, but none of the characters, fight different pirates, different marines.

(Yup I said I wanted to try something different and here it is! I can't do the "You are in the same time and place as Luffy is" because there is too many secrets left in the story.

Hex Maniac Quest will still continue, if this does well i'll alternate between the two.)

Rest assured either way the dice throw, you'll still fight Original Character.

The difference is if you pick age of gold atleast 2 of the yonkous are already set.

This is a tale about a different age.

Gol Roger? Who's that. The Will of the /d/ belongs on a different board amirite. Haha... bad jokes.

The world is in disarray, the Yonkou Bloodsoaked Sicillia, with bloodstained claws and a bloodstained heart, climbed the red line to Mariejois and, in a single night went on a horrific rampage leading to the death of ten of the world's holiest nobles.

This act of blatant mockery, and her flagrant continued existence, can not be suffered, and under the banner of Admiral Wujing several warships have been set out for the new world for a bloody war against the pirate lord.

All this means to you is opportunity... but what.

>Promotion! As a marine if a bulk of the forces are out to fight a yonkou that means headquaters will need more new blood to defend against casual pirates. New blood like... you!

>Money! A war between a admiral and a yonkou means that security be low accross the world! You can do all sorts of things without getting attacked by someone! Maybe you can even reach the end of the grand line, no one did before which means... COMPLETELY UNCLAIMED PROPERTY! It probbably will make a great summer home right?
>>

That's right this is a great time to... MAKE MONEY!

Who cares if some smelly old nobles got tossed off a cliff, you can pretty much gurantee they deserved it.

What's more important is that if all the big tough marines are chasing the sea hag that means no ones guarded the sweet loot.

Loot that can be used to buy food! Food, rum, wenches, and cannons to get more loot to get more rum and wenches.

This will be the age of...

Um... er...

Who... who are you?

For the record no matter what you pick, you are bisexual because your character is very explicitly not mine.

So whatever the anons vote is what kinda person you are.

Of course you are a Man's Man. The manliest person on your island (So you say). Look at those bulging biceps, that chisled chin.

Clearly you are the greatest, and once you get a crew going the whole world will know... hopefully.

Not only are you manly you are talented, in fact you are...

You hate to brag but you ARE amazing.

Look at this chiseled biceps, your perfectly sculpted deltoids. Can this be done by any mere mortal?

Of course! The Path to Pectorals is one anyone can walk, so long as they have GUSTO AND PASSIONE!

But walk it you have!

Your apprenticeship in the Monastary of Might was strenuous, for to achieve physical enlightenment one must be strong in mind.

For much of your childhood you learned the ways of the Burly Lumbermen, carving the stout and hardest of trees, for to achieve a flawless self you must be able to create and destroy.

Once your Trials of Craft were complete and you personally felled the tallest tree in your monastary's forest you began the path of Thought, delving in the ancient Books of Brawn for the secret of the ultimate muscle. A strong mind means a stronger will and a stronger body and EVEN STRONGER FLEXS.

Then, once your hands were calloused with wood carving and brain soaked in steeped lore of dietary intake and the art of the Perfect Pushup, you were ready for your Voyage.

You, with your hand made boat, shall drift across the seas to achieve enlightenman. For true manliness can't be found in a temple...

But in your heart!

The journy shall be dangerous but you shall not fret for you have

>A chainsaw. Your dearest companion since your childhood, it was gifted to you by your master Saint Jackson, its TECHNICALLY one of the 21 O Wazamono great swords but you don't think it's crafter would be happy with how it ended up.

Also, Paramecia, Zoan, or Logia?

Paramecia is always fun, Zoan seems limited a lot of the time but might be good if we get a good pick, since we are a going to be a brawler. Logia is just OP, we probably won't shouldn't get it.

The Path to Pecs involves becoming superhuman and few deserve that title more then devil fruit users.

Unfortunately you don't exactly know WHAT A fruit does till you eat it but fortune favors the bold.

Which fruit did you eat.

>Some pink banna thing
>A Orange strawberry the size of your head
>A red orb with a stem... you dont know what fruit it was
>Some prickly swirly monstrosity
>A blue pear
>A black pinnapple with white swirls

You ate the Hebi Hebi Fruit and became a Weighted Man.

To be specific you found you can very easy slip the pounds right off you.

Litterally, you can physically remove mass from your body to produce metal rings of a equal weight, and reabsorb them to regain your bulk.

Perhaps in time you can produce a greater "Creation to loss" ratio or change the weights shapes but for now you have to admit it's quite fortunate.

You can benchpress YOURSELF.

You are ready for your quest, you hope by the end of this to return to this monastary a enlightened man, a perfect specimen of the human form that can guide a new generation of hopeful muscles.

For you are captain....

Shit. What was it?

"Now Maximillion" Your sensei, Master Jackson smiled, the burly giant looming over you even from his sitting position. "Remember that, though you are powerful, you are still only a journeyman Monk of Muscle. Their are many monsters here in West Blue and the Grand Line even moreso. Do not be swallowed by their ambition."

You bow, a small grin on your face. "Master your concern humbles me, I will heed your warnings."

The giant waves a hand, dismissing the praise as he curled his arm. The massive metal doors behind you flinging off it's hinges from the sheer force of the giant's flex.

You buckle to your knees under the force of the blow, one day, one day you too will learn such power.

Your ship bobs outside, the Last Rep a massive caravel of dark wood painted with bright red fire, to the sides of it are two massive oars.

It looks rather empty, you hope to fill it up eventually.

But first you need a crew, where should you look?

>Ohara, Archeologists are nerdy right? Nerds love adventure!

You sit on the deck of the ship, a large sheet of glass letting you see outside even from your confines indoor.

You crack your knuckles as you grab the oars, with a grunt you manage to lift the oars in the air, pushing then into the water and sending the boat forward in a mighty tug.

Your sail lowers, a pure black parchment befit of any logo besides the Temple of Muscle's blue T. As your deeds become worthy of recognition you will bother putting a elaborate sign up.

But for now, all you are just a man.

The Last Retort rows through the ocean, your sail being adusted through some peddles at your feet as you row on. Boy this sure is exhausting.

You can't wait till you get a spotter.

The towns nears your view, the massive tree of knowledge of such majesty that it even makes Master Jackson look small.

You keep the sails up, rowing up to Port and hoisting anchor. You nod to the piermaster, handing him his fee as you walk down without any trouble.

You suppose they don't have much incidents with pirates. After all who is going to rob a history book, it's not this place has a museum...

Huh they do... the History of the World Goverment... huh maybe it has stuff on your temple.

You look at the other ships, mostly science vessels, you don't see any traders....

You eyes glare involuntarily, a baby blue ship floating in the pear, a large pool carved out in the deck.

It's sail has been lowered but you recognize this ship. Your rival in the Dogymjo.

You head up to the tree, ignoring the presence of Sister Belle, hopefully she'll not be a big concern.

With each step the tree looks all the more looming, you step inside the visitor entrance, a soft bell tinkering as you open the door.

A massive library surronds you, books of all shapes and thickness surrond a single globe of the world, small patches of it remain uncarved where humanity has yet to reach and return to tel the tale of, the most noticeable spot at the far end of the new world.

The Lost Land, a unknown area of legend, who knows what treasures lie there... and even if there aren't any how exciting would it be anyway?

A man looks down at you from the second row, a unlit cigarette in his lips and a seaking leather cowboy hat on his head.

Proffessor Ford tips his hat, pondering your options.

"Well to be honest we actually have a whole contract thing for blokes like you." The man says grabbing a book off his shelf and yanking it towards him.

The man smiles before the book crashes into his face binder first, the hefty tome cluttering to the ground as the proffessor straightens his nose.

"You swee" The man says, his damaged nose messing his voice up. "Knowedge is wope... I mean hope. So long as you keep that hope adive... alive, then who are we to deny you?"

The proffessor grabs the book from the floor, one hand clutching his bleeding nose as the blood stained book is flung open.

Turns out it wasn't really a book, rather a binder, filled with blank contracts.

"This is the hack of operation... pact of cooperation. If you sign this you have access to our sea charts and one of our archeoligists will come with you to chart new waters and keep contact with forgotten history. As a stipend however we get a 10% claim on all treasures you may uncover. If you find a old piece it is important we can place it in our museum and study it you pee...see. "

The man wipes his nose with his bandanna, the blood clearing up. "Granted the deal is void if none of our archeologists are willing to help you in the first place."

You nod noticing a tome labled "Atlas of Treasure." You point at it. "Is that a collection of treasure maps? Can I have it?"

The Proffessor follows your finger and looks at the atlas. "Oh, yeah. Sure, bear in mind if we have a map it's most likely been cleaned out by now. But it still has interesting details on the pirates who put the treasure there and not ALL the maps have been confirmed to be cleaned out."

Well there is that.

You scratch your head. "Aren't you guys about knowledge? Why are you so keen on treasure?"

The man shrugs. "To put it plainly they are both the same." He opens the atlas, pointing to one of the treasure maps. "You see this? The dread pirate Bob's hidden cache was worth a billion berri, but more then that it contained craft pieces dating back centuries ago. Even though it is gold, it is still a valuable historical relic."

The man flips through the pages, "Same with most of these. Ancient artifacts carry their own 'value' that needs no goverment backing. But if we don't have a contract like this then we can't just go "Sure you found a jewelled saber worth a small island but we want you to give it away out of the goodness of your black heart. Can we."

You scratch your head. "Why would I want a sword? I can't do curls with it can I?"

"Well depending on its weight...Why do you even want to work out with a sword?" The man asks, unlit cigarette dropping from his mouth in shock.

You shrug. Money can't really buy you MUCH... well it CAN but you don't really care. Plus if you keep your crew small a tenth share isnt even that big.

"Alright that's fair." You nod, picking up the contract, doing your best to sign it despite how small the pen is in your fingers.

Ford nods. "Very good, let us go pick out the recruits. You," he points to one of the archeoligsts sitting in the library. "Prepare this man his seacharts."

The man nods, face flushed as he runs off.

"Alright what kindof person are you hoping for?" Ford asks as you head into the employee only section of the tree.

You hear a clatter as the door flings open, a girl half your height staring up at you.

"Um... Proffessor what is this... shaved gorrilla doing here?" She asks, pointing at you worriedly.

Hey that... that kinda hurts. You peek into her room, a huge stack of books replacing most of the furniture (You even see that rather then a bed she just placed her matress on the side of the book pile and made a indent to use as a desk.

Sitting in the corner is a large wrapped up pole thing. So she probbably is a weapon user but... you can't really tell if its a gun, or a spear or what.

The proffessor chuckles. "I assure you this is not a furless ape Miyuki, your glasses have slipped, if you look closely you'll see he is just." The man adjust his hat. "A shirtless pervert."

You frown. "I'm not a pervert, I just have pride in my muscles." You flex. "You know how hard I had to work in the Temple of might. If you are going to be like that should I call you miss Nerd?"

Miyuki's eyes water. "H-how cruel!" She said her glasses slipping from her forhead. "Calling me Miss and rubbing in the fact that I am still single." She sniffs.

Tha... that was what she has a problem with?

"How cruel!" Proffessor Ford stares at you in shock, patting the sobbing Miyuki on her head. "It's okay Miyuki, Mr Pervert here didn't mean to call you single."

You sigh, why are these archeologists a bunch of weirdos, you pull out a handmirror, grinning into your reflection, your sport jersey flapping behind you like a cape and a hefty belt buckle with the word "GUTS" adorning your waist.

Why can't people be sensible like you outside the temple.

You guess they can't help it, they don't have the muscles to store their common sense.

You raise your hand. "Please, I apologise, I'll just call you Nerd girl then okay?" The woman nods, apperantly her age isn't that much of a concern with her.

"The point is I am looking for a crew, Proffessor here suggested you."

"A...a CREW?" Miyuki's eyes sparkle. "Like with a ship and cannons and stuff? That means you will be going to the ocean right? I always wanted to see what the other islands are like..." She sighs wistfully. "I've heard some of them have giant rocks the size of the tree called mountains. And even these things called castles."

Well... now you know where the enthusiasm comes in.

>Hold up, I still don't know anything about you. Convince me.

You scratch your head. "Hold on Nerdgirl, I don't know anything about you. Why do you even want to go on a ship and why should I?"

"..." The woman stares at you... her glasses resting on the tip of her nose as she squints. "Proffessor... where did Mr Pervert go? All that's here is a talking rock!"

"Miyuki." Ford sighs placing the glasses back on the girl's head. "Your glasses slipped down again."

She gasp, startled. "M-mr Pervert you can turn into a rock?"

"...Sure." You ARE chiseled it's close enough.

"...Hmmm I see, so this is the fabled cursed fruit power I've heard about." Miyuki mutters.

"Well you see I've lived in this island all my life, and it is great but... I'm not being that helpful." She blushes somewhat ashamed. "If you think about it, you can't really find new history in a library, you have to go out to the field. I want to uncover new lands, finally finish the World Globe in the center of the tree."

You nod, remembering the big globe. That does seem like a daring project.

"Yes it has always been my dream to find the unknown, just like my dear teacher..." The girl clapses her eyes and you can see the room start to shimmer.

"Hold on hold on, I don't need your past right now I haven't even agreed to have you on board, flashback later." You say, the shimmering stopping as the woman looks down dissappointed.

"Anyway, I'm good at games. I even win the local contests. " You do see a trophy sticking out somewhere in the book pile. "I also know a whole bunch! I can help navigate! And um... tell stories!"

You pint at the covered pillar. "Interesting... anyway what is that?"

She brightens up. "I'm glad you asked. You see it's a-"

The ground shakes, the Proffessor frowning. "Someone is attacking the tree!"

Of course.

You run outside with the others, Miyuki briefly stopping to pick up her bundle.

You feel the heat before you see it the front of the tree ablaze as the Proffessor glares at a line of marines. "You bastard."

The one in the center sneered, a aging man clutching a book, drapped in white robes with the logo of Absolute Justice emblazoned on his back. It probbably is a jacket too long of him.

"Let me be clear Proffessor, your tree has been suspected of assisting with known criminals, the black sails flying in port leading credence to the claim. Depending on your answer my men will be more then happy to extinguish this blaze."

The proffessor spits, whip unfurled on the floor. "You won't get away with this Captain Von Damn."

"Oh?" The man raised his eyebrow. "All I did was ask a question, do I look like a arsonist?"

The captain shrugs. "Of course if you are assisting pirates or attack me you are revoking your protection by the world goverment and we will be forced to reinstate justice in this island... But of course you wouldn't do that right? All you have to do is correct me and we will be more then happy to help you reinstate authority. We'll even liberate all those archeologists that have been kidnapped. After all." The man lowers his eyes. "You know where they are."

Is DIPLOMUSCLE an option?

"If you would please allow the interruption, this is a very sorry misunderstanding. You see I am a journeyman from the Temple of Might about to start a world spanning quest with the goal of completing the Globe that hangs within this tree. I am here to pick up a crew of knowledgeable mapmakers to help with this goal. When leaving the Temple that is the sail the provided me with and as you can see the symbol of the Temple is clearly displayed. I am no Pirate and they are not assisting them.

I have to go to the gym and stuff, Maximillion can't be the only one with muscles.

I'm calling off the rolls though, so 95 it is.

But here is a important part of combat.

Since One piece is such a insane fighting manga so many styles are relevant.

So indifferent of your roll, you have to decide on HOW You attack, so far you have your

"Turn weight into metal rings" and strong physical bulk.

If you want to use wrestle moves, toss the rings, use them as iron knuckles, even engage in "Combative Crossfit" that is your choice. With your ideas and fighting moves a style will begin to establish itself.

This is one piece, where you can set your foot afire and inflate your arms. If you can't think of anything I'll default to something.

Dope. I suggest we grab one bicep, begin to pull along to create a chain, ending with our fist. Swing it to get him with a long ranged punch.
>>

Using our weight rings as iron knuckles seems fun, but the chain punch also seems cool.
Also, might be a bit late for this, but the word "professor" has one "f" not two.

>>

You nod tossing your jersey cloak. "Hey, nerdgirl, hold this for me."

She nods. "Um okay... what are you going to do."

"Make a mess." You say with a grin and a thumbs up.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_vKFr9vOZfs

"Hey Captain whatever." You yell pointing at the weird priest marine. "You are in the way of Captain Strongarm of the Strongarm pirates..."

The man sneers. "Oh so there are pirates here after all. And what do you plan to do?"

You grin flexing your arms, large grey rings popping off your biceps and landing in your hands.

"This." You spin, ganing momentum before you throw. "HEBI HEBI..." You let the weights fly. "Chest Fly!"

The weights spin in the area, a lethal frisbee that slams into the marines and sends them flying to the ground. The weights clattering with a dust cloud. You guess even ten kilograms hurts a lot when you throw it as hard as you can. You took out atleast four with just that opening attack and the remaining ten are either knocked on the floor or strongly considering a strategic retreat right now.

"I'll have you know that I am stealing this places seacharts!" You yell pointing at the priest. "Stop making things difficult by burning them."

You hear Ford run off, probably to help douse the place.

"Fool." The marine spits drawing out a telescopic lance. "I'll strike you down myself."

You scoff grabbing the weighs off the floor.

"You? Captain who cares? Look at you, you are all skin and bones. You dried up washed out wrinkley liverspotted limpwristed backachin spineless old sod. Look at this." You flex, your biceps bulging.

"Do you see a raggedy old prune? Nah the body of a Journeyman monk of the Temple of Might is as chiseled as stone, and harder then any titanium alloy you sods up in Maineford ever came up with."

You flex, your pecs bouncing as you advance, the marines backing up in fear as you spit. "Strike me down? I've had celery with more brawn then you, I've flossed with more muscular men." You leap into the air, foot outstretched as you floated well over twenty feet above the marine couple.

"HEBI HEBI..." You stick your foot out, your body bulging as rings form around your leg, thicker and blacker then the others until a full 100 kg of weight wrapped around your scrawny left foot. "DEADLIFT"

You slam into the ground with the force of a small masculine metorite, the street colapsing inder your foot as you reabsorb the weight. Marines lie around you in various states of unconcious and distress, you can tell you atleast broke a few of the judge dude's ribs.

Amateurs.

You lift the marines.

"Wha... what are you doing." Miyuki stated as you put a finger on your lips, hefting the bodies with one hand.

"Marines like this would just report your island a traitor for my actions and mark me for death. But these are dangerous waters, if a ship goes missing... well casualties of the ocean."

She gasps. "You are going to kill them?"

You shake your head. "Of course not." You point to that fire. "The fire, which they selflessly risked their lives to put out, will do them in. "

She blinks. "But... they didn't...oh."

You nod, "Oh indeed small nerd. You may want to take your glasses off. This isn't pretty."

She shakes her head. "No... if this is going to be the kinda stuff you need to do in the seas, I can't pretend I'm not involved."

You smile. "Smart." You shake the pile, the Captain sliding to the floor. "Toss him in for me, he's light so he's a good beginner exercise for scrawny girl like you."

You'll give the marines this. Scum they may have been but their bodies are very flame retardant, thanks to their contributions and the rest of the sprawling archeologists much more real efforts, the fire is put down, the World Globe singed but still spinning.

Ford holds his hand out. "I can't thank you enough for your help Captain. " He looks at the collection of urns in the corner. "I'll ship those back to their families. Better to let whatever family they had think them heroes then know what really happened, for all our sakes."

You nod. "Appreciate that."

The door knocks. "Hey! What is with all the smoke? Ain't that bad for a tree?" A woman walks into the room, twig in her mouth, the amazon clopping in on wooden sandals and sitting in a flame burnt chair.

"So what the fuck did I miss." The woman proclaimed as you glare at her.

"Pyramids are history asshole, just like you're going to be." The woman lunges at you before being yanked to the floor, Ford's whip round her ankle.

Barbara sniffs. "Can... can she be cute?"

"...No." You say. "Besides first I have to give my nerd here her first test."

You carry Miyuki into a field, picking up her pole thing on the way. moving some of the trees around. "See these, they are target field. Try to take them down the best way you can."

Miyuki nods unwrapping her pile it's...

A large gleaming rifle is uncurled. or rather a large collection of black and grey blocks connected into a rifle.

"I call them Battle Bricks. The individual pieces are strengthened with dials and can arrange into different shapes depending on what is needed." Miyuki lifts up the rifle, pointing it at a tree.

The barrel glows for a bit before a laser blast spits out of it blasting the tree straight into apair if them, crashing three in the shoot and leaving the shot one a burning wreck.

"Where... where did the forest go?" Miyuki looked around , glasses slipped off her face.

"Could it be... I am so incredible I destroyed the whole forest in one shot?" She whispered.

I love her. You've got great taste for characters.
>>
I'm back, really tired.

Here is a question for future refence, how do you want to do flashbacks?

I HAVE to have them, they are a time honored and beloved part of one piece, but you cant exactly make a past multiple choice and let you guys pick what tragic events happened.

What happens if you roll well and a crew member goes "Huh, actually my life was perfectly fine... not sure why I was so angsty about fishman."

So do you want me to do backstory in thread in some text dump or you do want it to be nestled in pastebin where you dont need to see it till you want to?
>>
>>1293642
Either works for me
>>
>>1293642

Pastebin, unless its super important to whats going on.
>>
>>1293642
Pastebin would be nice
>>
>>1293642
I'd go with pastebin.
>>
Alright looks like people aren't entirely concerend with Miyuki's history.

I'm going to go make the pastebin now. I'll be back soon.

Hoo boy backstories take a long ass time, I know why you guys wanted it in a pastebin now.

You clap Miyuki on the back. "Well done miss, a marvelous shot." You place her glasses back up as she witnessed her work. "With that kindof performance ship combat will be much simpler. I can't man the cannons and the oars at the same time and your modular weapon gives us quite the pinch."

Miyuki nods smiling smugly. "Well thanks! I made them myself, I got the idea when I realized how similar in compositon many of the dial weapons are."

She undoes the legos, rebuilding it into a blade in only a few seconds. "See the impact dials I used to push the bullets flame and make my burning air bullet can also be put on the back of the sword blade to make the swings harder." You nod as she pushes a button, the sword catching fire. "Also it can do that."

You back up. "Its a combination flame sword AND rifle?" You touch the bricks. "This is almost like the fabled Morphiblades of the Riders!"

"The... riders?" Miyuki tilts her head staring at you as you flex.

"Long ago our Temple of muscle was founded by five heroes so mighty they sailed one men ships effortlessly. Each one had every tool and skill they'd need at their disposable but found together they were invincible and founded our temple." You look up to the heavens. "We all strive to live by their example."

You think back to Barbara and the many times she woke you up in the dead of night to complain about her latest spurned romance. "Well... most of us."

Speaking of Barbara you need to find her a crewmember. You said you would and your word is harder then your abs. And that is a big deal.

You decide to head to the tavern taking Miyuki with you. "But... but boss pervert," your nerd wimpers. "I am not old enough to drink yet."

You ignore her, continuing to drag her to the bar. "To bad, you are a pirate now, we break rules."

You know with the way she digs her heels in this works as a great subsitute for the tire drag. You think you yourself as you head to the tavern.

You KNEW you picked a good crew member.

You let Miyuki go when you reach the Bar, a seedy ramshackle place with whatever name it had fadded out a few years ago. You guess no one goes to these places for atmosphere... or rather, not a pleasent one.

The music stops as you walk in, beedy eyes staring at you as Miyuki gulps.

You ignore them, you just threw a officer of the law into a bonfire, a barfight is child's play. Besides your deltoids are the most dangerous weapon here.

You look around, trash trash... oh hey the old man at the bar hasn't bothered to try a petty intimidation tactic, maybe they actually hold promise.

The man hiccups, or maybe he didn't notice you were here.

You sigh, sitting down next to the man, well at the very least you can get some grub.

"Oi, bartender, protein shake, banana and bowl of jerky and..." You look at Miyuki, what do nerds eat again? ... "and a ..." Whats neither manly nor tough? "...Cake for the nerd."

Miyuki pouts. "Wait I don't need cake I'll get fat, just get me bread." The man nods as you sigh, poor Nerdgirl, so much to learn.

The man hands you a mug of thick yellow liquid and a bowl of meat, you thank the bartender as Miyuki nibbles on her bread.

"So..." You ask the man next to you, the old geezer drinking beer. "Do you mind a pirate asking who he is talking to?"

"Me?" The man giggles. "I'm Mr Hope, I run the stills here after I got to old for the fishing business. " Hope grumbles. "You can't help haul in a seaking if you have to worry about your back."

You nod. "So you got sailing experience then."

The man snorts into his beer. "Sonny given your face I have more everything experience then you."

You nod, giving your seat to Miyuki. "Nerdgirl, you know a lot about the sea, quiz him on his sailor knowlege, see if he's all he says."

Miyuki nods flipping open a book. "Which way is port and starboard, what is the best knot for tying a mast?"

Hope gapes before beginning his answers. His ideas on ideal attire seems off but he technically knows more about the sea then you do. He'll probbably make a good navigator at the least from the whole "Old dog" thing. Probbably can feel storms in his bones or something cliche like that.

You don't KNOW how good he fights but you know how good Barbara fights and Hope won't need to carry the crew through fighting.

Either he is useless and we're maximun trolling without guilt, or he's a secret badass (you did use Master Roshi for his face) and finding it out later will be more comedic.
>>
>>1294701
If she dies for being weak and feeble then we must embark on an even epicer quest to bring her back at the end of the world! Or turn her into a robot.
>>
>>1294708
I never said she was weak or feeble.

A trick i do is a persons skills are always based on their initial rolls, that way you arent some weirdo who an effortlessly beat admiral Tallie but later get subdued by 15 guards by poor rolls on your escape.

So right now you are infact a CRAZY tough fighter, and Miyuki can either be your Zorro or your Nami based on how well she rolls.
>>
>>1294725
>Our Nami or Zorro

I can't tell whose more worthless.
>>
>>1294741
Nami. Zorro becomes a huge badass only limited by his low intelligence.
>>
>>1294741
Nami is the only one on the ship that actually can sail the whole adventure would have ended in a tpk without her like five minutes after they doodled on laboon.

But you know what i mean. I've already guaranteed Miyuki won't be useless, how tough she is still to be determined.
>>
>>1294669
>>Just take him to Barbara and rub in how helpless she is without you.
>>
>>1294741

>>
>>1294766
>outside of a fight Zorro is completely useless.
So, he's a high level fighter with a weird and needlessly elaborate crit-fishing build (more swords means more rolls means more 20s).

You nod to Mr Hope. "Well you seem like your up to the task but it's not my ship. It's time to take you up to see Barbara."

The man nods, downing his beer as he follows you, you tossing a few berries to pay for your food. Your a pirate not a thief... or atleast not a petty dine and dasher. Your quest is about self discovery not base profits like the common rabble.

You lead Miyuki and Mr Hope up the hill to the tree. Unfortunately Miyuki is too compliant for you to do the tire drag with her so you compromised by walking up the hill in a handstand.

"Hey Mr Beefy." Hope chuckles. "You don't need to show off to impress the ladies with a bod like that, you can just walk."

Oh yeah you never told him your name, looks like you might wrack up a lot of nicknames. You snort "Only person I'm trying to impress right now is myself."

You reach the top of the hill, the tree charled but smoke no longer drifting up.

Come to think of it, whose to say Barbara didn't get a crew member while you were looking? This could have been pointless.

You open the door, hearing the sound of clinking glasses, Barbara partying with the rest of the Archeologists with a large gourd of sake in the center, the pirate herself doing the cancan with Ford.

"Heeeeey!" Barbara slurred. "What are you being are glum for! The tree was saved! That causes for celebration! Party with us!"

>...boop her for wasting your time.
>Fuck it, party you are serious not a stick in the mud.
>Cough loudly and politely introduce her to her new... fuck he joined the party already.
>>
>>1295020
Zorro's actually one of the more sensible ones whose needed to reel luffy in, as shown with a lot of his interactions with the crew and accurate guesswork of future traitors.

The issue is that Zorro has a navigational sense in the negatives. Anything he intends to do that involves going by himself is subject to the whims of coincidence, because he's never getting there on his own.

He litterally fucked up a numbered map system.

You cough, classic Barbara. You manage to get her attention, drunk or not her senses are sharp.

"Excuse me Barbara but let me recommend you my suggestion Mr..." You turn around the aging sailor missing. "Where did he go?"

"Yarharhar!" Mr Hope said, standing atop a library table, pencils shoved in his mouth to distort his face. "It's my demon throwing out laundry act!" The man said waving a book in his hands like his dumping out dirty water.

...You inhale. You know what, whatever, you aren't getting anything done today anyway.

You grab a mug, pouring yourself some beer out of the tankard near the sake gourd (Barbara really is burning her Beri's for this party she must really like these guys.) You need to pack the pounds for Hebi hebi anyway, your limited by your own weight.

You join the party, making sure Miyuki doesn't drink anything because she's underaged. You have standards, even if she seems mad at you about it.

The crowd cheers as you flex atop a table, veins pulsing over your biceps as you curl them.

"Heeeey." Barbara points at you. "Mr toughy tough. I challenge you... to a wrestle!"

"Now sow... now." Professor Ford said, wiping the blood of his nose from when his mug crashed into his face. "No need for violence in a party."

"Hmmmm... I challenge to to a ARM Wrestle!" The woman points at you, tossing her jacket to the floor to show you how serious she is.

You have a point but i got some explanations.

You ARE responsible (Relatively), but you are dragging her along because at the moment you are "things have to be done in one group" and nerves are things you need to work out of.

As for Miyuki's pouting its not so much she WANTS to drink but the fact that as the only one who isn't she feels left out. You know the tom sawyer effect where even if you dont want to do something if everyone else is having fun doing it you feel like you are missing out somehow?

That.

(Decided to just go without)

You grab Barbara's hand, the two of your elbows touching the table the professor rings the bell.

"Do... do your best!" Miyuki cheers you on as you stare down your rival, your muscles tensing as you push with all you can.

You have to admit, as idiotic as her training regiment is, farm life did her favors, she is not yielding.

You eventually manage to whittle her endurance down, the hand slowly tilting down as you feel the hand get thicker in your grasp, your fingertips prying apart as Barbara grows, her skin darkening with brown fur, her formerly full head of hair staying the same size as her scalp grows, the wild hair now hanging like a limp mohawk behind her left ear as tusks grow from her mouth.

"Buta buta, model boar." Barbara rasps before slamming your fist into the table, the pig girl giving a woop in victory.

>That... that's cheating! You didn't say we could use fruits.

Speaking it is late.

Tomorrow i have no appointment, just the gym agaiin so we can definetly put some hours in and i have a few ideas set already before day one is packaged all neatly.

As a aside I know im not the only person who wants to do a one piece quest and it feels unfair for me to have the name "One Piece Quest" as it makes me sound like the end all be all. So I was considering naming future quests something a little more specific.

Thoughts?

One Piece Flexman Pirates Quest

You smile. "Well you showed me, that zoan fruit of yours is rather useful."

"Yea....HEY!" Barbara yelled. "I'm not a pig! I'm a boar BOAR. Boars are tough look I got tusks and stuff."

"I think you look fine either way." Hope smiles giving his presumed captain a thumbs up, a blush on his face.

"Thanks... who are you again?" Barbara says, shrinking back down to her human form.

"Why I'm Mr Hope, a retired fisherman who was told you needed a old sailor." Hope says, hand outstretched.

Barbara clasps it. "Well you know how to party, and sailing and partying are the only two requirements to be a member of the Spa Pirates in my book, welcome aboard."

She turns to you grinning. "Look at that, I didn't need your help after all."

You inhale slowly. Anger is the drug of the weak according to your master. Your voyage is meant to be a trial but you are being sorely tested rather early.

You close your eyes, taking a deep breath, no need to lose your cool Barbara doesnt know you are the one who found her. She's just a childish idiot who slept with pigs or whatever farmers do while you were chopping trees and making ships. You can't her for Master Joey's weird teaching style.

You concentrate, Barbara is just a idiot kid, even if she is your age. "You open your eyes, picturing Barbara as the ten year old brat you met her as, snot dribbling from her nose and insisting on wearing a jacket too big for her. "I gotta hand it to you Barbara, you did it all by yourself." You nod to Hope. "I found him in the bar and invited him up but you asked him to join your crew all on your own. I'm glad you two get along as well as I hoped you would."

Barbara blinks, "Um... is this true Hope?" She turns to the old man.

The sailor shrugs. "He did say you were lookin and did give me a way of hopin."

Barbara raised a eyebrow. "Really? Weird to think of Mr grumpy complimenting me, what did he say?" She leans over the old man, the guy giggling.

"Well... he just told me about your... personallity. That's it, he said you were very perky and you know a old man like me has to do his part of the younger generation..." The man scratches his bald scalp blushin. "Plus I gotta say I admire your temples commitment to its rules."

You have to admit, you don't know if he is strong but he definitely is a great liar. Barbara beams grabbing the old man and pushing him close, the mans nose oozin red as Barbara's... fighting spirit pressed against his head. "Aw shucks geezer you don't gotta make me blush like that... hey you are okay."

Mr Hope slinks to the ground giving a thumbs up. "Oh I'm perfect, in fact I've never been better."

Your ship bobs outside, the Last Rep a massive caravel of dark wood painted with bright red fire, to the sides of it are two massive oars.

You head off to your ship, showing Miyuki her quaters as you head to your hammock upstairs.

You will show her the rest of the ship once you actually plan to sail, right now its been a long day.

You sleep and since you dont have prophetic dreams or anything you wake up.

You nod as Miyuki stumbles up to the deck, sipping your breakfast drink of raw blended eggs. You give her a bit to rub the sleep from your eyes as you head to the museum.

Its a rather large building, three stories tall and taking up the same amount as a city block.

You walk inside, ship figureheads hosted by wires and people mill about all sorts of props, Miyuki's eyes sparkle as she walks around the area.

It looks like they have a exhibit on the 3 powers, a traveling exhibit on devil fruits and there is the old exhibit on ships and history.

Oh hey look your temple is here too.

>Master Jackson never talks about himself, go visit the temple exhibit
>Visit the megapowers exhibit, know your enemy and all that. You can't say you will fight a warlord or a admiral but you can't say you WON'T
>You know what would be hillarious, if they actually had a devil fruit in the exhibit. But of course they won't right? Right?
>Just do pushups as Miyuki has her field day, its weird how her eyes can sparkle when they are all white like that. It's like pearls. (Switch characters)

You decide to check out the Devil fruit exhibit, it looks promising. Sure would be crazy if they actually had a devil fruit but placing something so valuable in a exhibit is asking for trouble so there is no way...

You read the sign at the hallway Special limited exhibit. The Yami Yami no Mi, to be offered to Vice-Admiral Hemmrich Jawsplit for his services in the Kuja Dispute.[/b]

You... um...

You don't have words, no witty repritore. It's a logia, a honest to goodness logia encased in glass in public view.

Holy toldeo.

>...You ARE a pirate and it IS in front of you.
>Just enjoy the exhibit, as valuable as the prize is its not worth it.

Who IS this Jawsplit guy anyway? It doesn't sound like a friendly name.

Fortunately the yami yami display has details on the guy, a small picture displaying the man next to a plaque.

Born in the kingdom of Alabasta to desert bandits, Skullsplitter was adopted by Marine commander Ursula Skullsplitter after a sting operation resulted in the death of the bandit parents.

The kid followed in his parents footsteps, joining the marines upon graduated military academy. During his ten year tour he is renowned for successfully subduing 413 pirates without a single fatality, accumulating a total wealth of 2.4 billion beris on bounties alone, all of which was donated to his home kingdom to support efforts on well development.

He was recently rewarded the coveted Blessing of the Dragon medal for his work in the Kuja Dispute. When the source of the kuja raiding parties was discovered to be a island in the calm belt, a military force was sent, with permission to perform a buster call if necessary.

Rather then do so, Vice Admiral Skullsplitter spent five whole days negotiating, managing to successfully draw terms for the Kuja islands absorption to the world goverment without bloodshed. He is to be rewarded this Fruit alongside this medal upon his recovery from injuries inflicted upon him by the Kuja's during their initial encounter.

Huh, that's a bit... gushy. Well I guess given the exhibit is in his honor they would lay it on a little thick.

He must be pretty tough though to get that rank. The marines don't believe in "Desk Jobs".

Could we just take the whole display?

413 pirates subdued with no fatalities to them, that takes a lot of extra effort. besides nabbing a logia fruit with the word for Darkness in its name doesn't seem likely

Yes you can lift the box, even if its nailed down.

>>1297804
I can assure you that if you guys roll well i am perfectly willing to burn my notes and start over.

My other quest my players crit failed to hell and crit successed their way in getting satan on their side.

You cant EAT the yami yami because you are a weighted man but if you steal it its yours, then marines will chase you once they find out who took it and you can try to sell it on the black market or ransom it or whatever you want.

still doesn't seem worth the trouble, especially since we can't use it to counteract the manhunt the marines would go on unless we gave it to miyuki and had her use it to keep them away/deal with them, but then they'd just toss more powerful people at us.

still nice to know it is actually an option to take it, but imo it isn't worth the hassle

You shrug, ignoring the display you aren't going to try to steal something that belongs to a vice admiral, those people are a lot tougher then some bozo in a dress. Besides you don't think Miyuki is much of a "dark woman".

You decide to just enjoy the rest of the displays. Hmmm... it appears that paramecias like yours are the most common, followed by zoan and logias and finally mythic zoans.

Most of the later two have been catalogued due to how highly sought after they are, the world govermient even tries to keep a stockpile of them when able in order to gurantee the strength of their admirals.

Sounds ominous but it is nifty to know that even if you dont need it, that a fruit would still buff your coffers quite a bit.

Apperantly you can get items that can absorb fruits as well,

All of this and no one STILL knows why fruits can spontanously turn magical. So weird.

You leave, Miyuki carrying a bundle of souvenirs, your crewmate huumming happily. "I never got to go to the museum before, I'm glad we got to visit it before we leave."

"Wait..." You hold up your hand. "You've never gone to the museum before? Why, its in the same island."

Miyuki shrugs, the pile of bags rustling from the motion. "I had a lot of reading to catch up on, I hadn't gotten to go to school as a kid."

You guess thats fair enough, you head to the port, taking a quick detour to the empty marine ship bobbing nearby. Since Van Damn isn't useing it anymore you doubt anyone will mind you borrowing some supplies. It is the world goverment's job to help the people after all.

After refilling your supplies you show Miyuki around, including the oar room, the gym, kitchen and sick bay.

You lead her to the wheel. "Okay Miyuki as the navigator it's your job to steer."

"Really?" Miyuki asked blinking her eyes as her glasses slipped. "But... steer with what."

You sigh, pushing her glasses up as she blinked. "Oh."

"Also one other thing." You begin lifting up a cycling seat from the gym downstairs. "If you are going to be apart of the Strongarm pirates you have to put some muscle under that skin. We'll start you off small peddle on here until we reach the next island. The better you navigate and faster we get there the sooner you get to stop."

Miyuki frowned. "Aww..."

> And that is the end of this thread. You successfully completed the "Ohara" arc and murdered your equivalent of Axehand Morgan. Good show all around. I'll stick around for Q &A and thread 2 will start on Sunday.

Just a general question, what is your favorite Devil Fruit power seen so far? Also thanks for running.
>>
>>1298036
In canon? Wapols.

I REALLY like food but more then that i like the idea of the munchmunch factory and synthesizing things.

Custom ones? I ripped a bunch of my fruit designs from Bobobo and my favorite power is Patchbo's Fusion abbility.

Ceaser's is my least because he controls ALL gas, its not a substance anymore its a state and that quite frankly blows all the other fruits out of the water by a large margin. If he wasn't a complete idiot he could clean house.
>>
>>1298057
Worth noting that Ceaser modified the Gasu Gasu No Mi before consuming it. It probably wasn't nearly as bullshit before that.
>>
>>1298057
I like Kizaru's devil fruit a lot personally. It would be interesting to see a devil fruit based off fusing.
>>
>>1298057
Mines gotta be blackbeards
>>
>>1298085
Gravity is a nifty idea on how to make a yami yami actually work, since light is normally the absence of light, its very thematic though.

>>1298071
Kizaru is just a likable guy, he hasnt shown much initiative but he has style.
>>
>>1298096
You mentioned Franky earlier, do you like his design more pre or post time skip?
>>
>>1298096
>Kizaru is just a likable guy

Make no mistake, the guy is just as deep into Black Justice as Akainu.

Since everyone's listing off their favorite devil fruits though, Goro Goro no Mi for sure.
>>
>>1298096
Thematic or not, I enjoyed it. Hell you would't even need to worry about water with it. Make the gravity too heavy and it'll sink into the soil for X-amount of time.
>>
>>1298164
Kizaru hasnt ever done anything that sketchy he just has worked as a hit man and beat the shit out of anyone pointed at.

>>1298175
Its gravity powers arent so obscure though it has to use that black gunk and water will cancel that out.
>>
>>1298201
Make a shaft, tunnel it out and inject it into the soil, Boom.
>>
>>1298208
Oh yeah your immune to water if you have a mining team and several days advanced notice.
>>
>>1298232
Is there a limit to the amount of Black gunk he can put out? Cause if not, set up shop somewhere and start pumping it out or hell make a bridge above the water with it.
>>
>>1298240
The shadow stuff isnt SOLID its a shadow cause darkness.

Blackbeards range is based on what the spooky dark stuff touches, which doesnt work in water.

There is a reason flight is such a big deal in one piece.
>>
>>1298254
Well, since we're in Q&A, gives us what our character knows about the three powers. Not what the museum would tell us since we skipped that opportunity, but you mentioned we're not dumb so we know a little already.

Alright.

The admirals are all codenamed after journey to the west, lead by Fleet Admiral Xuanzang.

Due to the inherent bigotry in the system, all of them are base human.

Admiral Wukong is a former convict of Impel down, having been released under the World Military Draft. He's aid has a button that will cause his collars, which have a seastone core, to detonate or expose him to the stone. He has a mythic zoan fruit known as the Uma Uma model Slephnir

Admiral Zhu Baijie is, unfortunately for her, a woman and the only Admiral who has no fruit. What she does have however is seastone toed boots and a kick that can, through the sheer force of the blow, scramble peoples sense of balance. She's happily married and her daughter is a captain somewhere in west blue. Before she was a Admiral she was Vice Admiral Tallie.

Admiral Wujing is considered the main fighting force of the group and has consumed the logia Hai Hai. He can turn into ash. He is currently out trying to fight Sicillia.

Of the Yonkou two keep to themselves, one doesn't even have a announced presence its just a large swept of new world territory has organized itself under a millitary force that seems to be organized because those who follow the weird notes that pop up are rewarded. Those who dont tend to be found dead the next day atop a belltower.

Another is the famed Bloodless Mary. She isn't even technically a pirate she simply is so insanely powerful that all attempts to put her down hasn't worked. She doesnt seem to have any big plans she just steals stuff, the only reason she has the yonkou title is because of a incident where a noble died during a ship hijacking and the pursuing admiral died. Her fruit is unknown but it apears to make things fly, but the specifics arent certain cause she never bothered bragging about it.

The more noisy two include the fishwoman pirate lord Sicillia and her army of seakings and "Mementos" Morgan who's castle is a bloody museum of past victories.

Of the Warlords their numbers tend to flucuate but two are members of the temple. It is said when they work together they are invincible.

Pic related.

There is also those who claim the Underworld has a singular black market kingpin who's sway on the balance of powers is no lesser then any of the other 14 but thats depends on who you ask.
