Remember when you decided to fight a man three times the size of you in a fair fight? Well, of course you do -You’re living through the consequences right now! The pain going through your body is a ceaseless sensation that reminds you of the error of your ways! You want payback, but you are unable to do anything right now.
Sleeping wasn’t an easy task this time, moving a bit started to rankle your wounds! Holy shit, it was obnoxious, but somehow you put it up with it and now it’s Tuesday morning!

You don’t have to go to school after being manhandled by that freak… Every part of your body that doesn’t ache feels heavy. Going outside your apartment feels like an impossible task, going to school sounds not only impossible but almost deadly.

What do you do?

>If you learned something about making bad decisions is that you haven’t done enough of them! Let’s get to school.
>Put ice on your face and try to go back to sleep. There is nothing you can do until Amelia gets here.
>Making breakfast would be nice and watching the news would be a decent pastime too. Let’s do both.

How the Dice works in this quest:

I use the average (the mean) of all rolls minus the smallest rolled number (if there are more than 2 rolls) and success will depend on the difficulty I specify for the action or prompt.
Above 45 is a success in a normal roll. Above 65 is a success in a hard roll. The hardest rolls I won’t specify because I find it more fun if I don’t.
Please Roll Immediately when required.

Hey, didn't that cult leader refer to Wildfire as President? Is our dictator actually a crimefighting superhero, or is the cult leader just that insane as to think so?

While keeping your normal schedule is impossible, maintaining some kind of activity is going to help you to not devolve into negative thoughts from your recent catastrophic failure. So let’s eat some breakfast!
Cheap and quickly made food: a combination that’s boring to make and eat, but enough to tolerate daily life. Your breakfast is a cheap cup of coffee that really needs more sugar, and a sad combination of ingredients with bread you pretend to call a "sandwich".

Let’s see what the news has in store for us:

-A new gloomy cult with an [a]apocalyptic[/a] message is on the rise! The cultists have managed to gain a large number of followers lately with their touchy message about "the end of the world". The news station seems appalled with their ideas and has no clue how they gained their surprisingly large following. Something to keep an eye on for later.
-A peaceful protest is going to take place in the central district of Pokyo Lokyo this Friday, the organizers seem extremely displeased with the curfew that’s going on lately and want the government to remove it. Sometimes its easy to forget we live in a dictatorship. It seems the opposing party of the government is backing this one up. The religious politician Elicarto Llodyington is on the news backing it up.
-Great progress has been made to dissolve more and more terrorist activities! A lot of pictures of police officers apprehending random-ass people appear on the screen. Feels weird that so much progress has been made in so little time. Almost feels fabricated…
-A lot of people are leaving the city in hopes of escaping the terrorist attacks. Wise decision.
Mhm, that was probably worth your time...

Slowly but surely you’re getting used to the pain going through your body. You think you’re able to do something to entertain yourself in the meantime, but how well you can do it in your state is something to be seen...

>Study! Time to get smarter while your body is smarting from the pain.
>Read about fashion trends on the internet! Time to get so handsome, even your broken face can charm women!

You know, after the disaster that happened on your face, it would be a good idea to at least try getting more handsome. Time to read about fashion trends on the internet, and maybe find some tips for you to learn…! You wonder where you can find such knowledge in the vast archives of the world-wide web. Oh well, an extra hard task has never dissuaded you of giving your all.
Navigating between some of the vapidest and condescending pieces of advice you ever read in your life, kinda made you feel stupider, but you took the most important wisdom out of it!
You gain some points of Handsomeness! Not enough for leveling up, but you feel you’re getting close. Maybe with someone’s help, you can make the jump to become one cool looking mother fucker!

You hear someone knocking on the door, but it couldn’t be Amelia, right? It’s not like you spend hours just doing research...! Or could it be? Oh shit, it’s almost 5 pm! What the hell happened?! You even forgot to eat lunch! Amelia is not going to be pleased to know her wounded brother isn’t taking care of himself properly.
She’s calling your phone, probably wants you to let her in…

What do you do?

>Pretend you just woke up and open the door. We need the sleep after the shit we went through, don't we?
>Go open the door; you don’t need to give her any explanation. No problem here!
>Don’t answer and leave her outside. Maybe we're just too tired to get up?

You’ll pretend you just woke up and open the door. Time to perform with your best acting skills to fool your naïve little sister. You slowly open the door…

“…J-Johnny?” Amelia stares at your wounded face as she slowly gets inside. She’s completely out of words; she has never seen you in this state ever.
“I’m fine now, Amelia. And sorry about that, I just woke up.” You fake yawing.
“This is terrible! Just terrible! What happened?” She gets closer to you to examine your bandages like she knows anything about treating wounds.
“I already told you what happened.” But you get why she'd react like this, especially after what you saw of yourself.
“I want to hear from you right now! I—” Your stomach interrupts her with its growling, and you scratch the back of your head a little, embarrassed. “...First, you should eat, leave it to me! Go to bed!” She skips decisively to the kitchen. You have a bad feeling about this, Amelia is not a great cook. “If you’re worried about me not being a great cook, I have to say I learned a thing or two! You will be amazed!” The bad feeling intensifies.
“I…” You try to say something, but you know any argument is going to be futile to your sister.
“I don’t hear you going to bed! Come on!” She sounded like mom for a second.
“I’ll go…” You slowly walk towards your room, the thought going to the back of your mind.

After patiently waiting a few minutes, Amelia appears with your lunch… It’s soup.

“Soup? Why soup? I don’t have a cold, someone beat me up...” You stare at the tray in front of you.
“You don’t like soup?” She looks disheartened.
“…I’ll eat it, don’t worry.” You try to not look like an asshole. The soup has noodles, a potato, carrots and good feelings; but at the end of the day, the ingredients don’t matter but the taste does... “Thanks for the food.” You try gulping down the hot soup - it’s not awful, in fact, its completely edible… It isn’t great, but you need what little energy you can get.
“So you like it?” Amelia sits beside you as you keep enjoying the food.
“Could be worse.” You answer nonchalantly; maybe if it had some chicken this could be better.
“That’s the best thing you have ever said about my food! Not counting my sandwiches that is.” Amelia smiles. “But you know what could have been worse? The beating you received! What happened?” She gets all serious, her face pouting a little.

“…” You keep eating, evading the question.
“I want to know why… A-again you put yourself in danger!" Oh god, she’s going to start crying again. "Y-you promised me you wouldn’t get hurt! But you didn’t use your partner! You wanted to get hurt! You’re stupid! A stupid liar! I trusted you!” And NOW she’s crying.

I didn’t want to use my Partner on someone who didn’t have one. That’s a road I don’t want to go down on unless I absolutely have to.” You tell her the truth about your principles! No good man can use this overwhelming power on the weak!
“…M-miscalculation? This is not a miscalculation! This is just being stupid!” She grabs your wounded arm. It hurts! “S-sorry…! But that’s my point! You're not telling me the truth! You just got so badly hurt you went unconscious! Tell me, how in the world isn't that an appropriate situation to use your Partner in?!” She stands up and quickly moves away from you, she simply doesn’t buy it.
“Amelia. We’re trying to save the world and all the people in it. If we go using our powers on those without it, we would be no better than those who have real evil in their hearts.”
“Yeah, that’s why you had a fight with a bully for no reason, instead of running away? H-how is that not putting yourself in danger?! You promised me to never do that again!” She stutters a bit, between her tears and broken voice you can hear her anger. She’s not calming down; you’ve never seen her like this…
“…Amelia. Calm down…” You’re not convincing her one bit with this track.
“You broke your promise, then you try to act like you didn’t have a choice, but you totally did! You’re just a stinky liar! Saraswati was right; you’re just a reckless dummy who is going to get himself killed sooner or later!”
“Johnny, you need to calm her down, I have a bad feeling about this…” Philonune whispers. This can’t be a good sign.

Amelia is not buying anything you’re saying. And she’s partially right; you could have handled the situation a lot differently.
How do you respond? Think and choose carefully...

>”I’m sorry; it’s not going to happen again.” Apologize again on top of the previous ones?

…Is saying something even remotely close to being a good choice? No, what Amelia needs aren’t words, what she needs is a hug. You move the tray away and stand up next to your sister; you open up your arms and give her a heartfelt hug.

“It’s not fair… You can’t do this… Bwah… Bwah… Bwaaaaaaaah!” She buries her face in your shoulder and hugs you like she did when your mother’s coffin was slowly descending into her grave. A sensation you never thought you were going to experience again, you remember promising to yourself to never make Amelia feel as sad as she did that day… Guess you failed at that too. You’ll have to make up for it for sure this time. “…I-I just d-don’t want you to die. Is that too much to ask…?”

You two keep silently hugging each other for what you feel is an eternity. It hurts a bit because of your wounds, but holding your little sister and taking in that sadness like a big brother should, makes it worth enduring.

“The ominous atmosphere is gone, Johnny. Good job.” Philonune whispers, though he’s ruining the moment for you somewhat. It wasn’t the danger the reason you were worried abo, no, it was seeing your naïve dumb sister being so worried about a dumbass like you… But it really feels like you defused an atomic bomb or something. A pretty nice feeling after all that.

…The hug finally stops; Amelia grabs your hands and looks down.

“…I want to trust you, but I can’t anymore. Please let me trust you again...”

“Sorry for being a bad brother.”
“…You’re not a bad brother.” She shakes her head. “You’re a stupid brother. My stupid brother.” She looks at you trying her best to smile. You’ll try your best to not wipe that smile ever again. “Okay, I need to leave after I make you dinner! The police are going out in an hour or two. I didn’t ask my dad on time so he only let me come for the day! But from tomorrow on I’ll stay with you until you recover.”
“Thanks.” You reply.
“You’re welcome, hehehe.” She gave you a quiet laugh, not like her usual at all.

You spend the rest of the evening with your sister doing nothing in particular, from watching TV, eating together, changing some of your bandages and torturing you with her display of skill in video games, etc. Eventually, she left. That’s the tensest visit from her, period. Now you feel pretty tired, before getting to bed, you feel like your body isn't aching as badly as it was in the morning, the inflammation in your face is almost completely gone, but your body still feels heavy. Tomorrow, you could push things a little…

If you want to make sure you’re going to recover properly you should stay home, no more unnecessary risks. You turn the lights off and slowly fall asleep.
It’s May 3! Another peaceful Wednesday morning, and we’re almost a month away from the countdown to end. You decided to stay home today because you want your injuries to quickly heal up, a wise decision. Today you had the exact same breakfast as yesterday, though you hope this doesn’t become routine - you have plenty of other food you could make yourself, you know?
You watched the news, most of them are a repeat from yesterday and anything else is either mundane or uninteresting. Except for three:

-A weird disease is affecting people in the country! Nobody knows the exact cause, but people’s skin turns paler and basically leaves them in some kind of vegetable state. The doctors have no idea what’s wrong with the affected, as their body's condition is completely fine otherwise, also it’s not contagious.
-There is a dog in a chef outfit that says ‘mama’. It’s kind of funny in an absurd, creepy way.
-The city’s stadium is closed for the whole week due to some "malfunctions’. They didn’t specify what exactly is malfunctioning, but refunds are going to be given for the canceled events that were going to take place this week.

That’s all for the news, the dog was the best part by far. No doubt.

You feel okay; Calamity’s medication has been of great help overall, plus no side effects! Sudden movements still make you somewhat dizzy, but that’s to be expected after the beating you got.

What do you want to do now?

>Search the internet for leads! A lot of events have happened lately and it would be a good idea if anything was related to our little war.

Time to look through the internet for leads! You know people have the urge to tell everyone about the weird shit that happens. You have a lot of subjects you can look into, like Wildfire's complete disappearance, what happened in the stadium reunion you were going to take part in, this strange disease that just appeared, the weird cult people, and more!
Where do you start? Mmhm… This is complicated, so much that you lost track of what you were you doing! Stop shitposting! It’s not the time for that!

Ehem… What do you want to look into? Any subject could take a while to research, so choose carefully.

>Wildflame’s disappearance after the terrorist attack. You have to save this hero of justice, if he needs saving!
>The terrorist app from the other day. There is still something fishy about how persistent it is.
>About the doomsday cult. Maybe they are related to all of this - even Chernobog could be involved!

Obviously of all the things that have happened lately the most likely to be correlated with the inter-dimensional war is the talking dog you just saw today in the fluff section of the news today! Impeccable thinking!

“It was a stretch that the dog said mama, it was more like wahwah. Anyway, I don’t understand why you humans find it appealing or why it has to do with anything we’re doing.” Philonune says, doubting your reasoning for the first time ever.
“You’ll see.” Time to find information about this demon dog.

From the news site you find a link to the dog’s website. Yes, he has a website. In it, there is information about the dog, a bunch of links to the dog’s merchandise and his social media pages. His name is Chewirton and is the most talented black dachshund to have ever lived! He’s almost 2 years old and already is the most famous dog in the country.
You start scrolling down on his YouTube page and every video at least one million views! One even has 15 million…! That can’t be right. The video is titled ‘Chewy’s supernatural talent!’ and is one week old… Maybe you’re right, maybe this is a lead!

“How is this animal this famous?” Philonune is perplexed.
“I mean he’s cute.”
“…” Philonune doesn’t get it at all.

You click on the strange video and in it, his owner – the same girl from TV - is talking about this seriously super incredible ability Chewy has! She says to everyone she didn’t edit the video and it’s all real!

“I hate this type of clickbait bullshit.” You say, already expecting where this is gonna go.
“Clickbait…?” Philonune is completely lost.
His owner tells Chewy to do his trick, and he closes his eyes like he’s concentrating! Magically one stack of papers starts floating around. What the fuck?!

“It’s not only that!” The enthusiastic girl says. “Look!”
She starts floating in the air while Chewy keeps his eyes closed. Then more objects start spinning around her. The owner tells Chewy to stop and everything slowly goes back to place.

“Chewy is amazing, right?!” She smiles as she slowly descends backs to her chair. The video abruptly ends after that. No other video has anything to do with Chewy’s ability.

“…Do you think a dog can have a Partner?” You ask Philonune.
“I don’t think that’s possible…” But by his tone, you think he’s doubting himself.
“Well, there is a greater chance the video was doctored anyway.” You try to not jump to conclusions either, but even so it's hard to doubt what you just saw.

You keep searching for more information about the dog, and noticed that he has small free weekly fan gatherings on Thursdays…

“We’re going to visit that dog tomorrow. Just to make sure it’s not all a ruse.” You stand up and go to the kitchen. You’re going to eat what Amelia prepared and left for you.
“You seem oddly enthusiastic about it.” Philonune doesn’t like the idea one bit, and likes the fact you're going for this even less.
“What? No… It’s something we have to do.” With your lunch ready, you start eating it.

Almost an hour has passed since you ate your lunch, you watched TV and received texts from Uccelli, Terry and Osgood. All three wanted to know how you were faring, and you said you were fine. After a little while, Amelia arrived at your apartment.

“Hi, Johnny!” She says as she sneaks into your apartment in plain sight. “You know, I saw a hobo girl outside the building.”
“Uhm… Okay? Do you want me to get rid of her? I know I already beat a hobo but I’m still injured.”
“I could take care of her myself!” She replies... proudly? You wonder if she wants beating hobos to become a family tradition after what you did. “But really, I felt bad for her; she looks way too young for living in the streets.”
“She probably already left.” You shrug. There is nothing you can do.
“In better news, I’m here to stay!” Her bag is completely filled with what you expect are one quarter books and games, and the rest of it essentials.
“That sounds great… Anyway, tomorrow we need to go to a dog fan gathering.” You reply to her.
“…a what?” Your sister is confused about what you just said so abruptly.
You explain what you found about Chewirton and his supernatural talent.
“I really doubt it’s going to be dangerous, so okay, let’s do it! I’ll tell the rest of the team about it, just in case we need even more back up.” Amelia takes her mobile out and starts typing furiously, her eyebrows knitted in concentration and with a tongue sticking out of her mouth.
“It’s really not a big deal.” You say while shrugging.
“Like the bully?” Amelia replies with a snarky comment. “So what do you want to do first? We have the rest of the day for ourselves!” She’s treating this as the slumber party she wanted to have all this weekend.

Your sister has the best of intentions to pass a good time with you, since you made her cry yesterday - so this is your moment to atone for your mistakes.

>”Let’s talk.” Still some things to talk about after all. Like that bear of hers?

“Now that I think about it, we should investigate this hobo girl. Maybe she’s a spy or something.”
“B-but we were supposed to have fun!” She doesn’t care about the hobo at all! What a liar.
“We will watch some terrible movies and mock the hell out of them later. Okay? It’s not going to take long.” You reply.
“…Okay, but give me a minute I wanna change clothes.” She quickly goes to the bathroom with her giant bag.

You two go down the stairs in search of this enigmatic hobo girl, and it doesn’t take you long to find her – She’s spacing out while looking upwards near the entrance of the apartment building; she doesn’t have a sign or anything. You both stare at her without her noticing…

You should say something.

“Are you okay?” Maybe she’s one of those soul-sucked vegetable people… She doesn’t look as pale as the news said the victims do.
“W-what?” She robotically moves her head from one side to another without being even close enough to see any of you two.
“I asked you if you’re okay.” You say somewhay deadpan.
“Am I okay?” She wonders as she stops moving her head, she still is looking up.
“T-that’s something you should know.” Amelia stutters.
“But I don’t know anything. I don’t know how the cloud moves, I don’t know why I’m here – I don’t know anything.” She replies, as rapidly starts opening and shutting her mouth for no reason.
“…I think she’s crazy.” Amelia whispers as she hides behind you.

You feel bad for her for other reasons than her just being a homeless person. Amelia is getting scared of her. You don’t know if the hobo even understands you. But you feel like whatever her deal is, its not simple homelessness.

>”Are you hungry? I have some food to spare.” She might need it, especially these nights with the curfew and all.
>”Please look at us when you’re talking.” You can say this in a polite voice, and hope that works?
>”I’ll call the police if you don’t leave right now.” You're well within your rights to do this, but still...

“Are you hungry? I have some food to spare.” She might need it, especially these nights with the curfew and all.
“…Food?” She’s still staring at the cloud, mesmerized.
“I can prepare you something to eat.” You say, telling the truth. Last time you checked your fridge still has stuff to cook with, not to mention Amelia's leftovers.
“Why?” She says in an empty voice.
“Because you’re probably having a bad time with the curfew.”
“Am I? I’m always having a bad time.” She responds bluntly, still not looking at you.
“I don’t think she understands you…” Amelia doesn’t even bother to whisper now.
“Maybe she’ll react better if I give her some food.”
“…O-okay.” Amelia responds.

You two go back to your apartment and cook some stir-fry for three; you put some on a plastic plate and go back where the hobo girl is.

“…” She hasn’t moved since you left like ten minutes ago.
“Here, I cooked you something for you to eat.” She finally turns around at this, having smelled the food and started turning before you spoke.
She walks slowly up and takes the food gently, as she keeps looking at you unblinking. “Is this what you prepared?”
“…Yes.” You nervously nod. “Please eat it.”
“Alright.” She shoves her face in the plate and devours the food. That was fast. The hobo girl suddenly starts crying. “…T-this is delicious! Thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you THANK YOU!
“Okay, we get it!” Amelia interrupts. She takes her fingers out of her ears.
“Please give me more.” The hobo girl says, hey eyes lit up from within, with what you assume is extremely suppressed joy.

>”I’ll feed you once a day, does that sounds good for you?” Reasonable enough for you too, since you have the money.
>”Now that you’re making some sense, are you okay? Do you need some help?” Does she have anything else immediate that she needs?

“I’ll feed you once a day, does that sounds good for you? Same time tomorrow, just don’t get picked up after curfew, okay?”
“Yes, yes, yes, YES! I'll come back!” She robotically nods rapidly, like her life depends on it. “What’s your name?!” She asks. “We can’t do this if I don’t know your name!”
“Ehm… Johnny? What's yours?” You reply.
“Johnny! Okay, Johnny! Thanks, Johnny! Thank you too, girl! I’ll see you tomorrow, Johnny!” She runs away ignoring your question, you thought about stopping her but decided not to..
This encounter was strange to say the least, maybe next time you can help her even more than today, perhaps getting her a job. You hope she comes back safe tomorrow.

“I somehow feel responsible for this… She’s a little insane, but seeing her crying like that made me feel terrible.” Amelia says.
“Let’s pray she finds her way here tomorrow.” You try to relieve Amelia’s guilt.
“Yup!” Amelia nods.

You and Amelia went back to your apartment and spend the rest of the day watching bad movies and playing games.
Before going to sleep you read the messages on your phone, Uccelli mentioned she was going to be near the gathering, she’s visiting a friend’s house tomorrow - so she’s available if things go south with the dogs. Osgood highly doubted anything bad would happen and asked why you were watching dog videos on the internet, you told him why and about your suspicion. He didn’t really buy it. Well, time to sleep!
It’s a beautiful Thursday morning! Amelia waked you up so you two can eat breakfast together. You briefly suggested the idea of you going to school today, but Amelia quickly shot that down. She wants you to stop taking unnecessary risks even though you almost feel completely fine, at least enough for going to school.

As your sister leaves the apartment to go to classes, you ponder what you should do next.

>>

. . . To ask Ucelli if she has old stuff to give away? Did you think we were going to dress the girl in our clothes?

> We're poor

We live alone in the house our dad pays for including all of our bills. We sure as he'll aren't poor. Not like, say, to the level of being homeless.

But it's always someone else's responsibility right? Well maybe IRL buy that's why you aren't a hero there.

Honestly looking into shelters / rehabilitation programs for an hour or so to help get the girl set up to recover is pretty much the least we can do since we already decided to get involved.

Hell of a lot easier than feeding her once a day for . . . How long? Until she disappears? Until we get bored? Let's not half ass this.
>>
>>1947229
Probably a better idea. Give them a fish and they live for a day and all that
>>
>>1947237
What?

Nobody said we had to stop feeding her. But if we have old stuff we don't use lying around might as well let her use it. Also if she has no memory she might not be aware of what options there are to get a job, get a place etc.

Not like we're poor at all. We just work for extra spending money.

Heck we could probably set her up with our old job and easily find a better one. A clinic isn't a bad place for a person who needs help to work at.

Ultimately it's just a story so I kind of want to take the plot hook.
>>
>>1947262
Geez Calm down man. I never said stop feeding her or trying to offend you in any ways quiet the opposite in fact I think your idea is great.

Basically, I agree with what you said to find a permanent solution to her problem not to completely cut her off of food. I apologize if I was too vague but I was really tired at that time that I could barely keep my eyes open.

You decided to stay home for today until Amelia comes back. Still, you’re feeling proactive today; maybe you should text Uccelli about what assignments she gave everyone for homework so you don’t fall too far behind with the rest of the group.
Uccelli quickly responds! Showing interest in school is a big plus for her. She writes you about what you should be studying and that she’s going to visit this Friday to see how you are doing. You cut her off asking if she has any old clothes, blankets, camping gear, etc. for the hobo girl, then you explained the situation. Uccelli says she’ll try to find something and will pay you a short visit to deliver them later today.
Just for the sake of it, you decided to look if anyone texted you something important:

-Lise mentions Constance’s change of facility has been successful! She’s back in Calamity’s clinic, and whenever she's not sleeping she's cheerful about being back.
-Terry asks you again if everything is fine, you reply that you're fine.
-Matilda somehow found out your number and sends you a text about doing more with you. You wonder if you’re one of the few people that actually paid the price for her services, even with haggling her down.
-Osgood mentions he has a new girlfriend and sends you a selfie with her; he implores you to send the picture to Scarlet. For some reason, he’s too scared to do it himself. For some reason, deep down, so are you.

Well, that’s it! With everything settled, it’s time to relax…!
What fine relaxing hours those were! Now Amelia is going to come back home any minute now… Someone gently knocks the door, it’s Amelia! She briefly mentions your favorite hobo is not outside today. Your little sister prepares to go out to visit the country’s most famous dog, but is it really your intention today? You aren't in a rough shape anymore, but you still have some bandages on.
What do you do?

>Go to Chewy’s fan gathering. There is a small chance you can take too long and don’t see the hobo girl, maybe you should make sure to do this as fast as possible.

You pack some leftovers from lunch to deliver to the hobo girl. You tell Amelia about your intentions to leave it to you landlord Craig just in case. He’s a nice guy, he will probably do it. Amelia, somewhat confused by the situation, agrees anyway. You two leave in search of him.
You knock on Craig’s door, he opens up:

“Oh, hey kid. How's it going? I know you have been skipping some cla—” He finally gives you a good look and sees all your bandages. “What happened to ya…?” He’s concerned just like you expected him to be.
“I had an accident near school, and I have a medical prescription from a doctor so I can get better.” It’s true! Calamity gave you one just in case.
“Oh dang, I almost act like an asshat for no reason. Who’s the girl?” He wonders as he touches the tip of his beard.
“I’m Amelia! I’m Johnny’s sister, nice to meet you.” Amelia responds very politely, playing up the charm.
“D’aww, aren’t you adorable? I’m Craig, the landlord here. So what are you two up to?” Looks like the charm worked.
“I need a favor, a hobo girl will come here later and I need you to give her this food when she does, please.” You hand him the meal and explain the situation further. He doesn’t seem to be too pleased at this.
“Listen kid, I don’t want to sound like an asshole, but there are homeless shelters you can donate to instead of feeding homeless people in front of my property.” He’s trying his best to sound nice, but you're feeling the pressure there.
“I’ll take responsibility if anything happens.” You reply as Amelia nods furiously behind you like she’s the one doing the promise.
“That doesn’t mean much coming from an unemployed kid, ya know…? But alright, since you’re a funny kid I’ll do it, only this one time, okay? I don’t want her prowling around these parts in the future! The other tenants will start complaining about a hobo living outside here, and I don't need that, do you understand?”
“Loud and clear.” You reply nodding. Great, now you have to plan how to deal with this hobo.
“Is that all?” Craig asks.
“Yes! Thank you.” Amelia responds.
“Before you leave, remember we still hold poker nights here every Saturday, if you want to come by again.” His eyes light up as he says this. Looks like he respects you in that regard.
“I’ll think about it. Exams start next week.” You say. You can’t leave your studies behind, not after the shit you went through.
“That’s tough, good luck kid.” Craig closes the door with the food in one hand.

You and Amelia took the bus to the Majestic Red Park of Pokyo Lokyo, where the gathering is – you’re supposed to bring your dog along, but neither of you have one. There are no more than 50 people here at the ‘event’, and only some of them with their dogs, so it’s not really a big deal that you don’t have one. In the crowd you see someone - a familiar face - walking around, and it’s Scarlet! You wonder if she’s a fan of Chewy… After hearing about her past from Terry, you can imagine why she'd be here.

“Hey a friend of mine is here, let’s walk up to her.” You decided to say hi to Scarlet, because that’s what friends do!
“Okay…” Amelia replies distantly, mesmerized by all the dogs walking around.

“Hey, fancy meeting you here!” You say to Scarlet, walking up with a slight swagger.
“J-Johnny?!” She puts her hand to her mouth, caught off guard. “What happened to you?!” Scarlet looks at your bandages wide-eyed.
“I had a little accident, but I’m fine.” You reply casually.
“…I-I didn’t know, sorry. I would have called you otherwise!” Scarlet is all surprise. Seeing you like this made her completely forget about being somewhat mad at you. “What brings you here…?”
“My sister Amelia wanted to meet Chewy.” You partially lie - Amelia does like dogs, but she's not the one who wanted to meet Chewy.
“Sister?” She finally figures out the girl next to you is your sister.
“Hi! I’m Amelia, nice to meet you.” Amelia says as politely as before.
“Hi! I’m Scarlet, I’m your brother’s classmate! Very nice to meet you too!” Scarlet smiles. Wow, your sister is good at this.
“Are you the Scarlet?” Amelia asks.
“W-what do you mean?” Scarlet is embarrassed.
“The one who is in love with Osgood! I heard all about it! I’m rooting for you!” Amelia smiles without a care. Yeah, uh, about that…
“Thanks! You’re very kind! It seems like it runs in the family!” She didn’t expect Amelia to be so supportive. “So you came here to see Chewy?”
“Yup! He’s so cute! I don’t have a dog of my own, so…"
“I don’t have one anymore.” Scarlet expression goes blank for a second and her eyes space out; Amelia is taken a bit aback. “But I’m getting a new one soon!” Scarlet goes back to smiling like she wasn't just seeing the past again.

Those two keep talking; maybe Amelia was a closet Chewy fan? Who knows? You’ll have to ask her later. Eventually, you hear an uproar from the crowd! It seems Chewirton has finally arrived! But you can’t see him from where you are…

What do you do?

“Sorry for interrupting your conversation; but how usually these gatherings go, Scarlet?”
“Uhm well, usually Yukika let’s Chewy run around with the others dogs and we have a fun time talking with her while we watch dogs being dumb. It’s super chill.” Scarlet replies.
“Who’s Yukika?” You ask.
“That’s Chewy’s owner.” Amelia says. She IS a closet fan. Who would have thought?
“I see, so we’re here just to have fun.” Honestly, you expected something more from the most famous dog in the country.
“Yeah, Yukika is super relaxed and friendly. We do have to wait until Chewy starts running around to talk to her though.” Scarlet says. The perks of being famous, I guess.

“Philo, can you look over the crowd from where we are? To see what’s going on.” You said to your partner since invocations are visible to flame users you prefer Philonune flying up in his flame state. He flies as high as he can, which it really isn’t much. From his position, he talks about what’s happening.
“I see the dog in question, but I don’t see any flames.” Philonune says.
“No? Can you see him clearly?”
“Let me have a good look. Negative, no flames on the dog.”
“Well, that’s a bumm— Wait, what do you mean not on the dog?!“
“Her master has one on her elbow.”
“What the hell?!” You reply, you signal you found a flame with thumb up.
“Eh…?!” Amelia couldn’t contain her surprise.
“W-what’s going on?” Scarlet seems confused with Amelia’s reaction.
“…N-nothing!” Amelia tries to pretend nothing happened.

You found your target, but you need to find now how to approach it! For all you know this girl is completely harmless, but you don’t know how she will react if she feels threatened.

>Wait for her to let go of Chewy and talk to her when people are busy watching their dogs doing dumb shit.
>Get near and attack! It’s time to go back to bad decision making!
>Go immediately where she is and ask her if you could talk with her privately.
>Write In.

Why would we attack? That's a black flame

Because Black Flames, while unaligned with the creator, were also on the guys who were trying to kidnap Constance.

Basically, you don't know what their deal is unless they tell you up front and personally or stab you in the back.

You wait for the moment Yukika lets Chewirton do his thing with the rest of the dogs! They gallop around like dumb horses in a playground too big for them; it’s actually adorable and somewhat hypnotic… Anyway, most people are filming what they feel is a once in a lifetime event for them. Yukika sits alone on a bench laughing at the sight of these canines jumping around and playing.

“I want to talk to her.” You say to the group.
“Don’t tell me you like her?” A playful Scarlet asks.
“It’s not like that… Yet.” You respond while raising your eyebrow.
“Haha! I like your confidence… Well, this is the best time for it that Chewy is running around.” Scarlet clarifies.
“…I-I wonder if I can pet him” Amelia can’t contain herself anymore.
“Go ahead!” Somehow Yukika hears Amelia from where she is. “Just be cautious, they are way too friendly!”

Amelia tries to get near Chewy, he pats his head for a few seconds, the dog seems to enjoy it. Out of nowhere, a wave of dogs jumps on her and they start liking her! They are a truly friendly bunch! Poor Amelia is laughing while being trap in this fluffy mess!

“…Is she going to be okay?” You ask Scarlet as you approach Yukika.
“Yeah, it happened to me too. The only real downside is you get all icky.” Scarlet smiles.
“I see…” That’s reassuring to hear, anyway – to today’s mission!

“Hey! Scarlet, No dog yet?” Yukika talks to Scarlet.
“Nope!” Scarlet shrugs.
“That’s no bummer! Do you want to sit with me? We can chat.”
“Yeah, oh, by the way this is my friend Johnny!” An energetic Scarlet presents you.
“Nice to meet you, Yukika.” You try to copy Amelia’s politeness.
“…Johnny, have I met you before?” She asks with a blank face. You somehow wiped the smile out of her face. “I swear I’ve seen you before.”
“Uh? I don’t think so…”
“That’s strange… Well, what do you two want to talk about?” She goes back to smiling again.

Sadly this conversation will be concluded next time! This is all we have for this thread. Thanks for playing and see you next time!

Here’s a pic of Lise as a secretary of sorts. I’m working in the Halloween pic by the way.

>tfw she's hobo girl.

Checked.

Also how long do you plan this quest to be?
>>
>>1952096
As long as it needs to be. All I know is we are going way slower than I anticipated.

If this serves you as any indication I originally (and foolishly) planned this to be between 10 to 15 threads long. Maybe if you guys get Johnny killed soon my prediction will be right.

At least let us get the girl first

If everything goes as planned you'll get one.

Why only one though?
>>

Because you'll end up breaking hearts and maybe getting yourself killed.
