Anyone else starting to like Trump simply because of liberals repeatedly overreacting over the way he words things?

It's really fucking annoying to the point that I'm starting to take sides with him.

>Haiti is a shithole
Yes, he could have been diplomatic and rephrased it. No, it's not racist. Is saying Ohio is a shithole racist? Exactly.

They're also focusing on single sentences. Like when he referred to Mexicans as "criminals and rapists", he was talking about the ones that come here illegally, that makes them criminals by default, and they rape too.

The absolute state of political discourse in this country. Everything related to politics is a joke: the media, the people, the voters.

I only voted for Trump because the other candidate was a woman. I only continue to support Trump because he can say a single word and the entire world gets upset.
>>
>>42458521
I know reacting like that is probably hardwired in your brain by now since you're the kind of person that instantly thinks racist when someone says they're a conservative, but I've always been mostly apolitical.

My argument is that if spend more time talking about what words Trump use ("lol he said bigly, so stupid") rather than the economic effect of his policies, your opinion isn't of much value.

No because people hating something for stupid reasons doesn't mean there's no valid ones.
>>

No surprises here.
>>
It's been a joke for a while, anon.
24 hour television news is a race to the bottom.
Here's a small example: do you know of a man named William Binney? To make it short he's a surveillance whistleblower, but I turned on CNN one morning at the gym and he's "prominent conspiracy theorist." Which is laughable, he's not, but who gives a fuck if it makes the president look bad, he allowed his CIA chief to meet with "a prominent conspiracy theorist".
And, I'm /tech/, I'm just going to say that the whole email hacking stuff being "Russia" was based on a political infosec group whose findings have been called into question.

I'm rambling but fuck me. I could go on and on about the joke. I don't particularly care about Trump, but like you it does make me laugh. These people are so fucking stupid, and 24 hour news and partisanship has fueled this.

The US needs some sort of third party, and for all of these news stations to be fucking bombed.
>>
>>42458690
Why don't they focus on the valid reasons? As I have said, if you're nitpicking phrasing instead of arguing actual politics, then your opinion is worthless.

Do you think professors of economics are talking about whether Trump said bigly or big league, or do you think they're trying to figure out whether there will be another crash or not?
>>
>>42458685
Yeah, he did. He also deported more mexicans than George W. Bush.
>>
>>42458756
OP here. Also in tech. I understand most people aren't computer literate enough to understand the stuff, but what you said about the media is right. Edward Snowden is still classed as a terrorist.

Most people's opinions are on the same level as media's, which is why I don't take part in politics.

It's funny because Trump really hasn't done much, good or bad. He's pretty much a standard president in his actions. But his words... well...
>>

yeah and obamas policies never really deviated much from bush's. it's almost like there are people in power besides the president.

>>
>>42458465

Its really interesting how he just talks like a regular chad at a frat party despite being president of the united states. How has he resisted all the social forces that inevitably turn high level politicians into walking statues? How has he managed to just be essentially some guy despite all the pressure that must be on him to act like some sort of model statesman? There have been presidents who failed at being statesmanly before, bush for example, but their failures were just that: failures. With trump you get the sense that he doesnt care at all
>>

when i am told i am a horrible person for being a white straight male by people at my university it makes me support trump.

It's nothing new. Berlusconi did the exact same thing. Swore, made racist and sexist comments, felt up a 15 year old girl, I could go on. All the while laughing about it and getting away with this. This has not been the case before or after.

This is why American politics has degraded to its current state. When every action and reaction is based solely on "muh liberal tears" or "muh bash the fash" people willingly go along with any retarded decision the people upstairs come up with.
>>

The valid reasons are like all ACTUAL political and social matters, too complex and not profitable enough to talk about. Parroting back at other parrots doesn't make you not a parrot

Yeah everyone is conservative until shit hits the fan and your quality of life is affected.

The only people supporting this guy are those secure in their livelihood and voting against 'those people' but you guys are too stupid to see that the overall quality of life is worse when you draw lines instead of forming bonds.

When you hate draft politics you shoot yourself in the foot. These people you fuck over don't go away. They end up running your backbone and infastructure. They'll be the ones half assing the water you drink and the roads you drive because you shoved them in the corner and said 'figure it out'.
>>
>>42458465
calling Haiti or any other place a shithole isn't the exact problem I had with his comment but it definitely isn't how a fucking president should carry himself.

>"why are we having all these people from shithole countries come here?"

why the fuck does it matter where a person comes from? Shouldn't you be accepting them based on their merits and what they can bring to your country?

Being reactionary by liking someone just because the people you disagree with hold the oppposite belief doesn't make any sense. Think for yourself and all the stupid shit hes said and done and decide for yourself if you still think hes likable.
>>
I didn't even vote for president. I did vote for governor and state/national representatives & senators, but both of the choices were so terrible that I couldn't do it. Neither majority party gives a damn about their constituents' wellbeing, only their campaign contributors'.

My problem with Trump is that he doesn't help the cause of those of us who prefer to say things as they are, and want to get rid of the fucking feminist left liberals who are so pent up on semantics and bullshit to miss out on the fucking obvious as a rule.

Trump says things plainly and directly, yes. And I like that. But in addition to doing that, he is ALSO a fucking idiot, and goes out of his way to drive that point home every chance he gets. His actions on the paris climate agreement, tax changes and immigration policies aren't "honest talk", they are fucking harmful. Harmful on a scale that extends across the whole goddamn globe.

We here in Europe for the first time in a long time, have real cause to be fucking worried for our safety and the future of our children because of that one fucking reality star idiot not knowing better than to step the fuck down and let someone who's a professional instead of a TV-star run the most powerful seat of power on this planet.

Trumps legacy will not be a world where people can do real talk again. It's one where NOBODY dares to do the real talk anymore. And that's the opposite of what I want, because it's only going to make things even worse in the long run.
>>
>>42461294
What is harmful about his immigration policies?
>>
i will bet money that, despite pretending otherwise, you spend too much time on heavily skewed echo chambers and that is where your entire perception of liberals and sjws even comes from in the first place.

this is the same shit that they do at fox news. you form your opinions based on what skewed information is fed to you, it seems reasonable because you dont know anything else. You see this kinda shit on /v/. this "all liberals are pink haired sjws trying to cut your dick off" nonsense is your entire world, because thats all /pol/ talks about, trying to push their agenda. take a break from the internet meme politics and the shit that trump does starts to seem more and more unreasonable when you look at it from literally any other perspective.

As a European I find the whole thing to be hilarious. Your two choices for president were Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. Two of the possible worst choices for your country. The majority of your country is so stupid.

To be fair, if the heads of my country said as much stupid shit as Donald Trump I'd be angry as well.
>>
I've never liked him but how i see it, he's our President for the next 4-8 years. So you might as well get used to him because he's gonna be here for quite a while. Besides, he's been getting rid of our debt and that's always good.
>>
>>42461557
No it's mostly about immigration restriction and economic protectionism. US media just happens to hate those things so naturally Trump and the media bitch at each other all the time.
>>
>>42461406
>i will bet money that, despite pretending otherwise, you spend too much time on heavily skewed echo chambers
Well someone's been reading James Damore's memo.

You are right of course. But the root of the problem is that right now the whole western world is so fucking incredibly divided. There is the extreme left, and then there's the extreme right. There's literally nothing else. No-one, anywhere, speaks about or even in terms of moderation.

If you're not an extremist, then you just make an enemy of everyone, and a supporter of no-one. And that's what's so unbelievably fucked up. Because in all things throughout human history, the truth, best way, all that, was always in the range of moderation. Extremist thinking has NEVER led to anything good.

And that is what really worries me about where we are, and where our future is clearly headed.
