When Trump was shot and every leftist in the America celebrated, I thought, maybe it's only powerful politicians they want to die.

Then when Charlie Kirk was murdered and every leftist in America celebrated, I thought, maybe they only want prominent conservative voices to die.

Then today, I see that an elderly man in San Diego who was a big Trump supporter who had American flags and Trump flags decorating the front of his house was savagely beaten by an attacker, and will probably not survive. This is how Reddit is reacting. It's not just Trump, it's not just Charlie. Leftists genuinely want to kill every conservative in America.

I am no longer convinced that leftism should be considered free speech. I think for the safety of all peaceful people, expressing leftist beliefs should be illegal.
>>

How did you react when Trump celebrated the deaths of Rob Reiner and Mueller?
>>

Yeah. Popper's paradox of tolerance. A free society can't afford to give free speech to people who want you dead, in this case liberals who want half the country dead.

It's not really a leftist problem, it's a people problem. This is base human behavior. You other and dehumanize the enemy tribe. Yes they view you as their enemy. Yes they want to kill you. No they're not joking.
Stop pretending that by being American, everyone is in your tribe. Universal American identity has been dead for decades. Diversity was never a strength.
Know what people are. Know what people are capable of and act accordingly. People didn't fundamentally change because the boomers enjoyed a peaceful era.

Yes, but evil people on the right are individual people who do acts of evil and are condemned. You won't find massive Reddit threads of conservatives celebrating this, and that's when the victim was an actual politician. If someone went around murdering random democratic voters, you wouldn't be able to find bloodthirsty psychopaths celebrating like this, although if the left keeps acting like this, that might change, and that's when things get really scary.
>>
>>84625482

You didn't say that, I am asking.
Do you think that the people who tried to kill Trump were actually MAGA/Conservative?
>>
It's crazy because I genuinely believe there is no political solution and violence is inevitable is this country.
But I don't celebrate the deaths of people just for talking.
If Hasan Piker or Cenk Uyghur died, it wouldn't make me happy. Even though I find both of them obnoxious.
Hasan maybe I'd feel less bad because he actually shocks his dog to the point of abuse, but still.
My friends all celebrated Charlie Kirk dying.
And all I could think was
>damn, if you knew my true beliefs, you'd want me dead, too
That was a very sobering realization that has followed me ever since.

I desperately want to avoid violence, but the problem is that leftists simply do not. Leftism is an inherently violent ideology. If it's non-violent, it's not leftism. The only peaceful solution is to separate from them entirely.

When Charlie said that, he was obviously saying it tongue in cheek, making fun of leftists for how they supported bailing out violent criminals during the George Floyd riots. You can go down the list, right or left, of crazed reactions. Some white lady was given $700k for call a black baby a nigger. Getting beaten is in no way comparable to getting called a slur, but it shows the collective mind set people are in. It's not about pointing fingers are politics, which is what they want you to do. It's really just normies taking the internet as gospel and are unwilling to disconnect their minds from the reality it projects onto their weak minds.

It's funny really. Some 20 years ago, you could go on /b/ make stupid racist memes, and go about your day. Once a while a few losers would chime in, actually believing those memes, but it typically just killed the vibes. In a sense, the old limited internet had a thicker skin against taking bullshit seriously.

Yes and I find it hilarious that it's been the main thing demolishing Trump's approval. Live by the bullshit die by the bullshit. He spent his entire career making absurd claims and accusing everyone of conspiring against him, only fitting that his downfall comes from similar nonsense. https://www.mercatornet.com/new-york-times-reporter-admits-on-hidden-camera-that-january-6-is-a-woke-media-beat-up

"It was like, me and two other colleagues who were there [at the Capitol] outside and we were just having fun!" Rosenberg jokes with his female companion, a Project Veritas plant. January 6 is "not a big deal as they [media] are making it, because they were making too big a deal. They were making this an organised thing that it wasn't," he soon adds.

Complaining about younger Times reporters assigned to the story, Rosenberg says, "I know I'm supposed to be traumatised, but like, all these colleagues who were in the [Capitol] building and are like 'Oh my God it was so scary!' - I'm like, 'f*** off! _ dude come on, you were not in any danger'."
Most shockingly, Matthew Rosenberg made these remarks at the same time he was submitting his most recent commentary on January 6 to his editors at the Times.

In that piece, published on the anniversary of the Capitol riot, Rosenberg whined that Trump supporters were in the process of rewriting history: reframing January 6 as "no big deal" or as an event exploited by, among others, "FBI planted agents to stir up the crowd".

That last complaint is key. In the Project Veritas secret recording, Rosenberg unequivocally admits that there were in fact "a ton of FBI informants among the people who attacked the Capitol".

Any wonder that trust in America's national media is at an all-time low? Any wonder the United States is so riven by bickering and division?

To be sure, both left and right have been guilty of massaging the events of January 6 for political gain. But only one side holds the megaphone, wielding unrivalled power in all of the institutions that matter.

Why didn't he release the files as an october surprise to win democrats the election?

Because taxation is evil and eliminating taxation entirely is the only moral position. Republicans aren't perfect but they're much better than democrats.

The feds are paying themselves.

I think the confusion is who are the feds being paid a billion dollars. Is it the feds at the capital who shot Ashley Babbit, or the feds like Ray Epps who were dressed as Trump supporters telling people to storm the capital and otherwise break laws

Ray Epps was given a slap on the wrist in September 2023 after 2.5 years of high profile people like Tucker Carlson asking "Why isn't Ray Epps charged?"
In fact, I remember a high profile exchange between Jamie Raskin & Thomas Massie
https://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2022/09/23/dem_rep_jamie_raskin_you_guys_are_trying_to_make_a_big_deal_about_poor_schmuck_ray_epps.html
Raskin said "trying to make this poor schmuck who showed up to your protest into something a lot bigger than he is".

"He's just trying to survive and he's on your side. You don't have many voters left - you might want to try to hang on to them without demonising and vilifying your own people,"
It seems weird that Republican Thomas Massie was attacking Ray Epps, and that democrat Jamie Raskin was defending Ray Epps. This was one of those exchanges that was prior to his indictment and caused pressure leading to his slap on the wrist
>>
Does anyone unironically care about Trump or Kirk. What's wrong with you
>>
>>84625982
We are talking about 2021, 2022, and 2023. Which would mean the justice department was answering to Joe Biden and Merrick Garland when it came to questions like "How long of a sentence should Ray Epps get?"

Are you familiar with the long march through the institutions?
>The "Long March through the Institutions" (der lange Marsch durch die Institutionen) is a political strategy originally coined by socialist activist Rudi Dutschke in the late 1960s. It advocates for achieving radical societal change by infiltrating, reforming, and taking control of existing cultural and state structures rather than overthrowing them.
It can explain why all the ivy league schools were on the same side of BLM, or COVID-19, or Israel-Palestine.
>This creates ideological consistency because the institutions self-select and socialize people toward shared progressive frameworks (e.g., identity, equity, systemic critique). The "rainbow coalition" - originally Jesse Jackson's 1980s vision of a multiracial, multi-issue progressive alliance of minorities, feminists, LGBTQ+ groups, environmentalists, labor, etc. - becomes manageable. Disparate groups with potentially conflicting interests (e.g., class-based vs. identity-based, or different ethnic priorities) get unified under a common ideological umbrella

Institutions don't just aggregate public opinion democratically; they manufacture and enforce consensus by:

Framing issues in aligned ways (e.g., through academic theory, media narratives, NGO advocacy).
Marginalizing dissent as immoral or ignorant.
Socializing elites and gatekeeping entry.

hese institutions have been repurposed to manufacture consent (echoing Chomsky/Herman's propaganda model, but applied differently here) and align disparate groups into a stable progressive bloc. This manages democracy's tensions - keeping the coalition cohesive, legitimizing elite preferences, and containing populist or majoritarian impulses that might disrupt it
>>
>>84625273
We were all against it because Trump is a wicked and corrupt man.
>erm both sides are hypocrites

>they voted for it therefore caused it
One. No voting doesnt seem to matter anyway.
Two. They did not vote for this in particular either and holding an entire group accountable for the actions of a few is how you justify things like a mass killing.

If you support mass killings then just say so just say you support mass killings. If that is how you really feel why hide it?

I still remember when they were talking about Charlottesville, people like Richard Spencer saying "Jews will not replace us". It turns out the only problem was they were white. If it was Muslims or Palestinians saying "Jews will not replace us" it wouldn't be antisemitism, it would be progressive

There is a large portion of /pol/ that gave up on Trump years ago because of his betrayal and support for Israel. /pol/ was against Israel long before Trump ever ran for president. This has not changed and it is nothing new.

>>
>>84626714
I am very left vs right, but it's not because I think the Republican Party is run well by people I respect. But people on the right don't want to murder me like people on the left do. The left and right are not two groups of people with the same goals just getting there differently. The things leftists want are evil. They are fundamentally bad people.
>>
>>84626784
I think that's fair and I would tend to agree with that. I think the average boomer conservative or miga is more retarted than they are harmful. I do think the actual politicians, and the people who own the politicaians though are just as evil and hate you just as much. Most of it is a show and they all view you as cattle.
>>
>>84626950
I'm sure, and there's a lot that Trump has done this term that infuriates me. But I will keep voting for Republicans because the idea of the left gaining more power terrifies me.
