run 'em through ffmpeg to convert them to video for windows .avis, works like a treat
it'd take ages on an actual late-486/early-Pentium 1 era Windows 95 machine, but it'd work (just convert it on a newer computer)

ffmpeg.exe -y -i %1 -acodec pcm_u8 -vcodec msvideo1 -filter:v scale=320:240 -ar 11025 -r 15 "C:\Video Output\outhq15.avi"
remove the -r 15 if you don't need to save space (alternatively, lower 320:240 to something smaller if you need to save space, msvideo1 kinda sucks with file sizes)
can't remember how to bake subs in with ffmpeg though

there's probably a better format you could use too, but the best thing to do is just burn the episodes to CDs if you really needed to watch them on an old win95 machine with a fast 486 or better (and lots of RAM, like 32MB or so) and ignore the huge space problem and just convert them at 640:480

"C:\Program Files (x86)\WinFF\ffmpeg.exe" -y -i c:/doremi.mkv -acodec pcm_u8 -vcodec msvideo1 -b:a 192k -b:v 1100k -vf "scale=320:240,subtitles=c\\:/doremi.mkv" -ar 11025 "c:/doremi-vfw.avi"

here we go, here's a good command to do this with subs
came out to 146MB, quality isn't amazing but it's entirely watchable
would need to actually put it on a CD image to view it there, since there's two 250MB drives in the emulated system (max size) and there's only ~50MB free on each

okay, I put it on a disc image and it works like a charm in pcem
kind of wish I had an actual old Win95 machine to try this on now, because I know that CD read/seek times aren't emulated, but if you had a vaguely fast (6x? I'm just guessing, I can't be arsed to do the math) CD drive, it should work

because even an old Multimedia PC™ should be able to enjoy Doremi!!!
you could probably do it on Windows 3.1 if you had Video for Windows installed, but I already got rid of the converted file in a desperate bid to reclaim my minuscule disk space and can't be arsed to re-convert it just to try it there
>>
>>5917203
an old Multimedia PC™ can just install a modern os tbh
>>
>>5917274
I mean, you could, it'd just run slow as dirt. There's no reason to not just run 95 on an older machine like that, other than it being too new to have drivers.

shit, just updating to Windows 98 on a mid-90s computer will quarter its performance compared to just running 95 (just like how 95 was fat as hell compared to running Windows 3.1 and DOS on an early-90s machine), so you'd need a new computer (it'd be too slow to play the video probably)
With my commands, you could probably do the conversion on a phone (if you've got Android, I'm actually entirely serious) and just use your old computer.
dunno if anyone bothered writing a CD burner program for a phone for you to write it to CDs with an external CD burner over an OTG cable though (probably not), but I think someone wrote a USB driver for 95, so you could put it on a flash drive and copy it over
>>

s4s experts is it possible get screen burn on a cell phone abd how would that even happen
>>
>>5917470
wew yes
having a phone with an OLED screen will burn in things like the status bar at the top or whatever software home/back/whatever buttons after some time

happened on my S3 a little bit and it's happening on my S7 a lot (top's loads brighter than the rest because that area's black most of the time)
