played 4 NFC teams that made the playoffs and beat 3 of them, including the 3 and 4 seeds, only losing(on the road) to Carolina. also played a bunch of teams that were in the playoff race till the end(Ravens, Lions, Packers) and went 4-1 against those. I've seen a lot of articles and posts saying the Eagles are done. That we're not good enough. That we can't win a playoff game. Is that true? Yeah probably- Absolutely fucking not. Just look at the facts. Look at the numbers. We can beat anyone, and here's why:
>The Vikings - Have Sam Bradford
>The Rams - Already took the L to us. - They have like 3 fans. - QB looks like a Dollar Tree Ryan Gosling.
>The Saints - Can't get crucial kick returns when Sproles isn't there. - They could never just march into Philly and beat Big Dick Nick like that. - Lost to Tampa. Sad.
>The Panthers - Don't respect women. - Pete Morelli's a bitch. - Weakness is a QB with a dying career with a sweet defense. Checkmate.
>The Falcons - 28-3 - ???
So now you're thinking Alright, maybe you're right. But how do you know Brady will even be in the Super Bowl? Just kidding. No one's thinking that. The AFC is as competitive as 6-year-old teeball. But you are thinking how could we ever beat him? It's simple.
>Nick Foles - Large penis. - Threw 7 touchdowns against the Raiders once. - Beat the Giants. - Resembles the protagonist of a classic film. - Doesn't throw up on the sideline.
>Tom Brady - Unknown penis size. - DID NOT throw 7 touchdowns against the Raiders once. - Can't beat the Giants. - Looks like a murderer sometimes. - Only has beaten Eagles QBs in the Super Bowl that throw up on the sidelines.
The facts are there. The odds are clear. Stop doubting and open your eyes. This thing is in our favor. Go Birds.

>I'm convinced this is Coughlin's work and the Jags played some god-tier 4D chess knowing Fournette is nearly unstoppable running behind Bohanon

Considering they lost to two teams which on paper were inferior to close the season I doubt that very much. The Bills are the underdogs in the match up but it is still a very winnable game for Buffalo if they executors and rattle Bortles early, even the best RB in the league won't be able to win you a game if the passing game is a god awful liability.

If the Bills and Jags swapped QBs then the Bills chances to win would drop like a fucking rock, Tyrod has flaws in his game but he protects the ball so damn well. The reason the turnover battle is the Bills best chance to win this game is they generally are near perfect at it unless Peterman is under center.

It's Luck's fault that he plays like shit missing passes and throwing awful interceptions for three quarters in every game he's ever in and has them down 20 points in the 4th desperately trying to come back.

This is the story of Luck's career. Sometimes he makes the comeback and everyone praises him, sometimes he doesn't. But he plays awful most of these games and puts his team in a big hole.

I don't know why but I really hope that SB week is extremely cold. like -20 tier. My local company has direct ties to this SB so we might actually be financially hurt if the Vikes make the SB, but they are literally planning on having concerts outside during that week from what I've heard. According to the NFL's Next Gen Stats, in 2016 Ezekiel Elliot faced 8+ men in the box 29% of his rushing attempts per game. So I did a little math. In 2016 Zeke had 21.5 rushing attempts per game. At this mass, Zeke only rushed against 8+ man in the box ~5 times a game (most likely Goal line and 3rd & short scenarios). Interestingly, for how effective of a rusher he is, Dak attempted more passes per game at 28.7 in 2016. The two rookies combined for 50.2 all purpose attempts a game. Supposing opponents put 8+ men in the box 5 times a game (as shown above), Dak threw the vast majority of his passes into tight passing coverage. Was /nfl/ wrong about the 8 men in the box narrative?

This is just my opinion and I realize this but hear me out. I believe the most important stat to determine how good a team is is net points. If you only look at offense you'll think Rams will win the Super Bowl because they have the most points for. If you only look at defense you go the Vikings will win the super bowl because they have the least points against. You need to look at net points because it takes both offensive and defensive ability of a team into account. Just to prove how important this stat is 10 out of the top 12 teams in the league with the highest net points are in the playoffs. This is why I believe the Patriots will win the Super Bowl. They have net points of 162, tied for the most net points in the league with the Eagles who I would be arguing for them to win if not for the fact that they now have Foles instead of Wentz. The team with the most points for, the Rams, are tied for 2nd or 3rd however you want to look at it with the Jags at 149. Vikings are 5th with 130. I do not believe the Vikings stand much of a chance because they do not have a quality offense and their defense has carried them this high on the list. They're the only team in the top 7 net points with less than 400 points for.
>>
>>80691020
point differential is a worthless stat. the 2011 Giants won the owl with a negative point differential

sprained ankles and shoulder injuries are something you can push through during the playoffs. its mainly practice and repetition that makes them worse.
>>
>>80691045
outliers exist this is true

net points is still the best measure of a team as a whole as it doesn't only look at offense nor only defense. It takes both into account. Even special teams.
>>
>>80691091
2015 Broncos were 10th in point differential. 2012 Ravens were 11th. I don't even have to go back that far to find outliers.
>>
>>80687877
False.
>>
>>80691136

>>
>>80691045
Think the fact that the giants are the only one in nfl history to do that suggests they are the exception not the rule
>>
>>80691158
most playoff teams are gonna be in the top 12 because there are 12 teams. in fact the team that's been #1 in point differential since 2010 has only won twice, and both times it was the Patriots, who lead or almost lead the league in point differential every year

>>80691077
You aren't a vikings fan, fuck off

>>
>>80691175
2011 was a complete and total shitshow, anyway. It genuinely felt like neither the Patriots nor the Giants were the most talented teams in their conferences that year. In the AFC it was probably the Ravens, while in the NFC both the Saints and the 49ers were better than the Giants. Fuck, if the Saints had won that game at Candlestick the Giants probably don't even make the Owl.
>>
>>80689207
is it funny because the saints lost this game???
>>
>>80691214
"good team wins a lot" isn't breaking news. the Pats also led the league in point differential in 2010 only to get bounced in the first round. and the #1 team in point differential in 2013 and 2015 got beat in the Super Bowl by the league's top defense, so following this the Pats will lose the Super Bowl to the Vikings

FUN FACT: the Minnesota Vikings at home have allowed only 8 offensive touchdowns all season long. Let's break them each down.

WEEK 1: Saints: Brees to Fleener, 8 yards. Garbage time, 2 minutes left in the game with the Vikings up 17 points. Worthless.
WEEK 3: Bucs: Winston to Brate, 15 yards. Bucs in desperation mode down 25. Game not quite over but well in hand.
WEEK 3: Bucs: Winston to Jackson, 25 yards. Bucs down 21 with one quarter left to go. Game well in hand for the Vikings.
WEEK 4: Lions: Abdullah rush, 3 yards. The only worthwhile TD the Vikings gave up at home so far. It was also off a recovery of a Dalvin Cook fumble on the play he tore his ACL.
WEEK 6: Packers: Hundley to Adams, 14 yards. Tied the game. This one was a result of a Jerick McKinnon fumble.
WEEK 7: Ravens: Flacco to Moore, 13 yards. Allowed with 0:00 left on the clock, Ravens still lose by 8. Garbage time. Worthless.
WEEK 11: Rams: Gurley rush, 6 yards. Very nicely scripted drive by the top offense in the NFL. The only worthwhile TD scored on the Vikings on a drive that started in the opponent's own territory.
WEEK 15: Bengals: Bernard rush, 2 yards. Result of a Teddy Bridgewater INT off his receiver's hands. Garbage time, though, therefore worthless.

If you're keeping count, that's 3 garbage time touchdowns, 2 desperation touchdowns, 2 touchdowns off turnovers that allowed the opposing offense to start in Vikings territory, and one off a scripted drive by the best offense in the league.

the Bucs remain the only team to score two TDs against the Vikings at home and it was all desperation from being down huge

>>80691668
18-1
>>
>>80691674
Say the line, anon!
>>
>>80691665
Jordan whitehead is super talented and really young like 21
>>
>>80691503
You lost 14-7 at home to Detroit faggot. That nullifies that wall of text you posted.
>>
>>80691628
I watched an even more talented set of teams with hall of famers on both sides of the ball lose a game they had every advantage in 4 different times. If they couldn't get it done with Fran Tarkenton and the Purple People Eaters in 4 shots, then they'll never get it. I watched the North Stars get BTFO so bad they moved to Dallas. I watched the Twins shit the bed against the Yankees every time they met in the postseason. I watched Goldy Gopher hang himself off the uprights after Minny shit the bed yet again. You think you've seen it all. You know nothing about Minnesota's misery.

maybe they will just knock out everyone first

or this shit again because the NFL actively hates the vikings:

>>80691674
the thing I like most is the D's consistency at home. even in their worst 3 games they've allowed only 19-17-16 points. I can live with that
>>
>>80691692
only took a rookie blowing out his knee for it to happen. you wanna count on that again, be my guest

This
Minnesota is a suburb of Cleveland
>>
>>80691714
I like the Saints more so i'm ok with this
>>
I want to see a Brees vs Brady old man bowl.
>>
>>80691708
Vikings were only favored to win in one of their Super Bowls and that was IV, and with the benefit of hindsight they really shouldn't have been
>>
>>80691723
referring to Dalvin cook as just another rookie is pretty disingenuous the guy could have been rookie of the year if he didn't get injured
>>
>>80691714
If I wasn’t a Vikings fan and was officiating that game I would’ve refballed too in all honesty
I would not want to be in NO after who dat lost the conference and was looking for blood
>>
>>80691774
missing the point is what's disingenuous. so is putting words in my mouth like "just another rookie"
>>
>>80691757
>blatant, obvious, refball is ok
why even play the game

maybe if minneapolis was below sea level and a bunch of morons died because they were too lazy to evacuate they would be handed a katrina feel good bowl too i guess.
>>
>>80691794
imagine being this butthurt after 9 years

I would unironically accept that if the league wasn’t too blatant about it

What if they beat everyone?

why didn't he get a flag?
>>
>>80691714
>snowniggers think the vikes wouldn't have been raped in the Owl by the colts anyway

Saints > Colts >>>>>>>>> everyone else that year, there was a huge drop off. Vikes played their absolute best and Saints played their worst and it still wasn't enough.

like I said I like the saints more than the Vikings. As long as the team I want to win a game wins i'm happy. I get pissed off at right calls and refuse to accept them as the right call because they go against the team I was cheering for in that game. I pick a team to win every game I don't have a favorite team.
>>
>>80691829
And this is what happens when you faggots make multiple threads
>>
>>80691829
>old news
nope
>>
>>80691714
they cheated the vikings that year, saints only won because of muh katrina
>>
>>80691805
my father passed away from leukemia a few months later, I didn't even care much for football then but he did, so I watched the game with him.
he never got to see his favorite team go to the bowl because of blatant bullshit.
yes, i am still butthurt.
>>80691811
like carrying a team on your back all the way down the field with nonsense calls?
>>
>>80687881

Is there a newer version of this map? it would be cool to see which teams are getting bandwagon'd and which are losing their relevance.
>>
>>80691814
fuck if i know, the announcers never said anything either, nobody talked about it at all aside from a AM radio.
LA is a more important market than MN i guess.
>>
>>80688860
You really are a fucking faggot dude. You are probably someone who hates it when the super hero wins at the end of the movie. You probably complain about someone’s cooking after they cook you a meal. You are most likely miserable at family holiday parties. You generally hate feel good stories because they are ‘too corny’. You’re girlfriend probably broke up with you because you don’t like to ‘waste money going out’

I hate you so much and I don’t even know you.
>>
>>80691818
>implying i said they would win the bowl
>implying they didn't deserve the chance to lose
>implying those calls didn't play a role in the saints "victory"

you cant look at that and tell me it was a genuine win.

https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/this-buffalo-bills-team-is-worse-than-most-bills-teams-this-century/

>This year’s Bills team finished 9-7, but based on Football Outsiders’ estimated wins and Pythagorean wins metrics,1 it only earned 6.8 and 6.3 wins, respectively. Put another way, an NFL team that gets outscored by 57 points on the year (as the Bills did) mathematically ought to win about six or seven games.

>But it’s not just about wins. Pick a metric of team strength, and the Bills are typically at or below the median: 21st in scoring differential, 15th in FiveThirtyEight’s Elo ratings, 23rd in Simple Rating System, 21st in Defense-adjusted Value Over Average.

;_;

me too thanks
>>
>>80691936
this shit can't be trusted because of the Chargers game. The Bills went full retard and let the bolts score 50 on them. That's why their numbers are so fucked.

>>80691814
because that guy hit him while he was out of bounds. He's the problem not the Rams player
