For those unaware, WorldTracker.org was a website that hosted a massive set of files- mainly ebooks- providing information on pretty much every subject imaginable. Sadly it went down some time ago, but I've been in contact with a person who had almost all of it mirrored and set up a torrent for it. Enjoy!
magnet:?xt=urn:btih:apctqfwnowubxzoidazgaj2ba6fs6juc&dn=World%20Tracker%20Library&xl=554591660013&fc=36497

Note to those without at least 550GB of available drive space- some torrent clients (such as Tixati) allow you to omit specific folders or files from the download.

Thanks so much for this. I'm hoping you can keep it up for a week or 2, I need some space on my seed box before I can start the d/l. In 3-4 days I should have enough room then I can d/l and seed it for a month or so at 1Gbps. Slow as hell d/l from seedbox to home, so this will most likely stay up on the box for at least a month, maybe more.

what's up bros

question: which program do you use for reading pretty much all ebook files? I love UB Reader on android, do you know of an application/program for PC (win 10) that's as good or better?

have some big ol' tiities for your troubles.
>>
>>735547
On Andoid I paid for Mantano/Bookari ebook reader because in ever other management software like UB, they have algorithms that scale O(nˆ2) with the size of the library which results in huge lags as soon as you add more than a few hundred pds to your library.

On windows I have Alpha Ebook Manager (written in .NET so no Linux port sadly) which is really awesome, reasonably priced and scales well (got 60k files in the DB and no slowdown whatsoever) advantage over Bookari is that you can identify files based on their MD5 hash value or ISBN number, meaning if you have the same book multiple times with a different filename, the program will only insert the book once (and like every file if you click on that entry)
>>
>>734712
THANK YOU, i really love it
>>
>>735594
That sounds pretty good, I'll check them out! Thank you kind anon
>>
>>735594
>>735781
Oh and I forgot for the Alpha ebook:
If you buy it (and really, you should) enter "student" into the reduction voucher field, gives you 50% off, so 10$ instead of 20$
(disclaimer: Its been over a year, so they may have changed the voucher code, although they do target university students with it, so its not probable)

Either your client or your system can't handle the torrent size/file count. Try using an alternate client. If it fails again try one more. If that one fails then its your system.

I dl'd it with little issue using BitComet (yeah I know but the shit works).

I have a Deluge torrent question and I don't want to make an account to ask one question and never use it again. Plus the question I have was asked in their forums about 4 years ago but never got answered. I know this could make it's own thread over at /r/ or /wsr/ but I like my chance here more.

It doesn't work anymore but you would get libgen software get the database, use a search term or category and select .
If I would select more, the software would freeze and while searching it would use a lot of memory.
Usually I would filter a category and get the latest 10000.
>>

The libgen software doesn't work because every link now gets a temporary download key in the browser, the software tries to download using the hash from the database.
You could get the torrents, but it's a lot of random stuff there and a lot of Russian.

Wasn't sure where to ask but I think you lads will have good advice so here goes. If I wanted to share some homemade college textbook pdfs where/how should I do so? Is there anything I should be aware of before attempting to do so? I've never uploaded anything before, just seeded existing torrents so I'm a bit new at this.

I'm just pretty sick of the bullshit college is pushing 2bh. I have a 1 month class that's trying to set me back $150 for a textbook, or $5 a day just because Pearson decided that we totally need a new 5th edition. As such I borrowed a copy, took a photo of every page and merged them into a PDF. The quality is pretty variable (I think 2 of the 400 pages are a blurry illegible mess) but nonetheless I feel like other students might get something out of it.

if I get copies of old books that are never going to be printed again what is the best way to digitize them before putting them up as a torrent when all I've got is a flatbed scanner?

This is going to take forever so I want to do it right.
>>
>>773067
let it die no one wanna read that shit
>>
>>773067
To get even semi-decent scans you'd have to destroy the books - remove the cover and unbind them to the individual pages, then scan those one by one.

To get decent scans without destroying the books, you'd need a dedicated book scanner setup, which can digitize book pages of a normal open book - with a normal flatbed scanner you'd always get blurry parts at the binding.

>To get even semi-decent scans you'd have to destroy the books - remove the cover and unbind them to the individual pages, then scan those one by one.

So if I want to scan a book using a flat bad scanner and still have a physical book afterward I need to have a sacrificial copy and a copy to keep. Gottcha.

>To get decent scans without destroying the books, you'd need a dedicated book scanner setup, which can digitize book pages of a normal open book

how do those work?

If you're going this way, check out some scanning advice sites on how to debind the book without mucking up your iron or getting glue everywhere or burning the pages.

>how do those work?
There's various kinds depending on your budget. Most of them are based around a professional digital camera (at minimum a DSLR with fullsize chip) often with some special lenses as well as lighting systems.

Usually the idea is to not open the book much more than about 90 degrees, and then you take a picture of each page, flipping through the book, then turning it over and flipping back for the opposite pages. Some of the better ones have a glass to put on top that makes the page flatter (which takes some care to avoid reflections and glare). High end ones have a double imaging setup so you can get both open pages at once, i.e. in half the time per book.

If you are crafty you can make one your own as well, see for example https://diybookscanner.org/en/designs.html
And then there's also commercial book scanning services, depending on how many books you have and how much spare time vs. spare money, these may be the more convenient approach.
>>
Why can't I dl this?
>>
>>773582
because you can't read, and so it would be useless to you anyway

Thank you very much.

Also I like how clicking on images of specific book scanning rigs in the showcase takes you to the threads about how they were built. Very clever and useful idea.

People used to put CP in pictures of sinks to get around the censorship regime, so 4chan probably made a filter to get rid of embedded files.

You should all download the torrent, verify the files with your torrent client program, and then seed them, even if you got this from Google Drive or whatever.

Two good reasons for that:

> Keeping this data alive

> Helping the torrent be realistically downloadable

> Verifying for your own sake that you aren't missing something, and data hasn't been tampered with

You--you're kidding, right?

You know there's an index, right? And a list of boards along the top that show you the names on hover?

And a board called "Literature" that shows up in all of them?
>>

Lit is pretty cancerous for discussion, that's like telling a person interested in discussing coding to go to /g/. They will just tell you to install Gentoo and that whatever language you are coding in is wrong.

They may throttle your connection to some degree if it is taxing the system, but that's about it. If the content creators wish they can have your ISP send you a letter telling you to stop downloading copyright stuff. Usually they'll send the letter and that is it.

Well I don't know about scanning but for sharing I recommend having a Linux PC with Transmission, is pretty easy to create and share torrents and if you have a raspi even better because you have a dedicated seedbox. Anyway if you don't have a linux box I think pretty much any client works.
Once you have the torrent just publish the magnet and/or torrent file here on /t/.
