The Autopsy of Jane Doe -

Thought this movie was good, not really horror but suspenseful and supernatural, decent jump scares.

They keep talking about a remake, but I doubt it'll happen any time soon.

There's also a comic series written by Clive Barker and it's outstanding as well. I read the entire series in one sitting.

Put simply, Barker is a brilliant writer, especially when it comes to the horror genre. Any attempt to remake Hellraiser will result in wasted resources, a lame excuse for a film. Just as each of the sequels were and, excepting an arguable few, remakes in general.

Foreign? As in the type of horror you only hear of, but never see or productions created in a far off land? If the former, you'll need to be somewhat more specific and if the latter, you'll need to be somewhat more specific.

So, turns out my ocpd will not allow me to post without offering a little something. Add to that a guess as to what flavor of "foreign" you might be referring to and presto-ala-kazzamm! Up popped the following Aussie flick.

There is one particular (((group))) in charge of what is given to the public as entertainment and they would be happy as shit if the white race truly could be bred out of existence. Do your research and use your brain.

Holy shit, the Korean ballerina horror movie. I used to have a DVD of that! The pacing is a little slow in parts, but it's surprisingly good in spite of that.

R-Point is another pretty good one--it's basically Apocalypse Now, only if the main guys were Korean, Kurtz was a ghost, and instead of Cambodia the 'heart of darkness' is a legitimately haunted forest. Oh, and the Americans in it sound completely wrong in every sense (language, acting, etc), so be forewarned. Still, spooky as shit. (cover attached.)

Audition is a Japanese movie that's almost half rom-com, but veers a little bit off-course part-way through. No real jump-scares, but it's EXTREMELY fucking unsettling.

Not sure where you'd find these (aside from a video store in Chinatown), but I'm sure you could find it with some digging.

Oh, speaking of, if you like classic horror, the old Masters of Horror series has some pretty solid stuff. They gave a group of horror directors from the 90s a significant budget and complete free reign to do whatever they wanted for an hour, so you've got episodes from pretty big names in American horror (the guys behind The Re-Animator, Phantasm, Gremlins, Halloween, May (which is another under-rated one), The Stuff, and more) as well as some of the titans from overseas (Italian master of gore-heavy 'giallo' movies Dario Argento and Japanese master of making your skin crawl off of your bones Takashi Miike, who also did Audition, mentioned earlier).

TL/DR: A handful of meh, but some pretty solid stuff.

are you aware that all the abrahamic holy texts are filled with horrible shit? i used to be a christian and i'm a layman but i've seen equally bad stuff in the Koran and the bible. Some of my favorite tibits from the qoran are how it explicitly states that white people are better than black people and how satan looks like a black person, the bible also gives specific instructions on not only how to go about beating your slaves, but also how to enslave FELLOW JEWS,(and lets not get started about the general acceptance of rape in all those books)

also it doesn't say anywhere that "white people must be destroyed" it talks about non-jews. guys like you only care about "muh white genocide" because you want to build a victim narrative

at the most this propaganda your posting is more suited with showing how religion in general is bad, i'm sure there are jews who believe that crap but there are just as many atheistic jews who acknowledged it's bullshit

also what about the "white men fucking apes"? how come black men don't freak out when they see stuff like that?
http://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=everything+everything&&view=detail&mid=B5A631A26A996E6B898FB5A631A26A996E6B898F&FORM=VRDGAR

your self inserting WAY to much, porn is one thing but if you can't keep from putting yourself in every artistic medium you see than your a lost cause

>U wot m8
yeah, i guess i should elaborate

the more widespread term would be "Moderate Jew" (but i feel that atheistic jew is more accurate.)

a "Moderate Jew" is a person of jewish decent who identifies with all the accomplishments, achievements and culture that jews hold but they don't actually believe in the religious dogma.

Long build up, but it kept me interested. Original too. When the shit hit the fan it seemed like a fairly standard horror set up but it was a satisfying watch.

Also recommended if youre a necrophile.

Going from "providing no sources at all" to "providing sources that easily allow people to see you're making shit up" was not quite the tactical masterstroke you regarded it as. The third time isn't going to be a charm here. GB2/pol/.

Back on topic, I keep hearing rave reviews and great things about Goksung/"The Wailing". K-horror flick. I checked it out and by the end I was just confused. Not necessarily in the "this film just makes no sense" way, but in the "I have to be missing something here" way. Can anyone who's seen it reasonably explain what the fuck was going on? I want to like it as much as it seems like most people did, but I just ended up perplexed. Maybe that's all there is to it.
>>
>>771265
Not made up at all. You can look up each of those Talmud verses.
>>
>>770632
it's out on download sites on may 23rd, torrent expected after that.
>>
>>771270
Which is exactly why it's so easy to tell it's made up. There isn't even anything that could be abbreviated to "gad. shas." in the Talmud for example, let alone that says anything like that. I'm not sure if you were just gambling on people swallowing this without checking or if you just never bothered to check for yourself, but you've lost either way. There's no point in holding a conversation with someone who either doesn't know or doesn't care whether anything they're saying is true. So, back to the scary movies.

>>
>>768934
I loved that one, because it plays with your expectations. It has multiple mini twists and each alters the situation in a way that suggests that the movie is going to follow one of the stereotypical horror storylines. It keeps playing with you like that - letting you think that you know what sort of horror film you are watching. The less you know about its plot the more likely it is that the story will feel surprising and truly unique.

I guess I was bit aggressive with that, my bad.

What quality did you see in it personally? I thought the effects held it back quite a bit especially how front and center they were.

Also the plot wasn't too surprising or interesting, it just felt fairly generic with in the horror genre; especially given the expertise of tension shown in the Korean thriller genre.

This is a tv show and its more thriller on most episodes. But episode 2 and the last 2 episodes of season 3 alone make really good horror short films.

Black Mirror is a show kind of like the twilight zone bu more futuristic and really quality made.

GREAT movie love event horizon. It has a great campyish 80s 90s sci fi feel to it to which is awesome. It is also totally scary and has an original plot. And morpheus is in it.

>Lake Bodom
Don't bother. Watched it online. My bar for horror movies is really low, as I get entertained easely just with some teenagers getting murdered as long as the bad guy is short of badass.

This movie was ridiculous from start to finish, full of plot holes and absurd scenes that break the mood if there was any. The only thrill or suspense in the entire movie is wether or not you'll ever get to see those magnificent knockers of the size of a beach ball (spoiler alert: you don't).

The worst part is the double plot twist of the movie. The first one you don't expect because it basically makes no sense and derails the movie into a series of goofy fuck ups and a loooong and unnecessary slow-mo sequence that lasts several minutes that explains what you could figure in 10 seconds. Then the second plot twist comes along and it's just exactly what you were expecting from the very beginning but ends up being highly anticlimatic and adds nothing to the movie.

Man Vs.

A survival tv star finds himself less alone than intended in the woods.

This one is probably the best budget movie I've seen in awhile. Clearly shot with a budget less than my monthly book budget, there isn't much glitz and glamour to this one but 7t I really enjoyed it nonetheless. Worth your time even if it won't break into your top 10.

I wasn't a fan. I thought the show was really morally preachy and the episode with the pedophile who was like 16-17 really turned me off of the show. Why did he deserve what happened at the end? He didn't molest kids, he didn't do shit but jerk off in the privacy of his goddamn home. Never saw the screen, for all we know it was a cartoon or something.
>>
>>784854

Check the intro again:
>Luke 24:38-- “‘Why are you troubled,’ Jesus asked, ‘and why do doubts arise in your hearts? Look at my hands and my feet. It is I myself. Touch me and see — for a spirit does not have flesh and bones, as you see I have.'”

The whole story is about divine and evil figures struggling for the villagers' belief. Plenty of foreshadowing and subliminal clues, even in the first scene where the Japanese dude was fishing. The film takes many references from the Bible and Japanese folklore.

Remember that the Devil is always claiming that he's the good guy, and his greatest device is deception. This confuses the believers, because the divine figures also preaches the same. It's like that riddle where there's two guys: one is a liar and one tells the truth, and you can only ask one of them to show the way.

Sorry for the samefag but I really want more people to appreciate the writing, albeit too cryptic for many.
For those wondering where to get the subs to the intro quote, I don't remember where I watched it. But I looked at the numbers at the end of the quote
>24...37-39
and looked up the Bible and found the verse. It's exactly what the Devil said at the end of the story when he takes pictures of the Priest.. except that the quote is from Jesus, This is the whole point of the story.
>>
>>787430
no i think your theory has gaps; like the Shaman was clearly not on the Devil's side until the ritual was stopped as the ritual was clearly working and clearly was killing the Devil, however despite being told not to interupt the ritual and being told bad things would happen if done so, the dad stopped the whole thing and from there I believe the Devil gained influence/posession of the shaman.
The monk/Japanese guy/Devil I believe is a victim struggling to remain control but when he is "killed" he loses all that control and the Devil takes complete control.

There's actually at least 3 sets of theories that I find >90% plausible but I'll stick with the one I liked most first.

If you check again, when the Devil was puking blood, at the same time the girl was approaching his house. The director intentionally juxtaposed the Devil puking blood with the family interrupting the ritual to confuse the audience.
>the Shaman knows true human nature so therefore exploited human weakness and told them not to do the very thing they would do in that situation
>the Devil is puking an insane amount of blood and any human would have died as a result indicating that he was never human
>also when first confronted by the dad/police, the Devil said he's here for Youko which in weaboo history term is the nine-tailed fox demon, so any audience familiar with Japanese folklore terms would assume he's the good guy, and that the girl is the fox demon
>however if you go back to the Bible, you can refer pic related and realize that the girl has thrown stones at the dad and also touched him and made physical contact, which validates this passage and the first one I posted (flesh and blood)

The second set of theory is that people from different background of belief always think theirs is the right one and reject anyone else's. If you check again all the characters are interchangeable according to the set of belief (Christianity/Japanese Buddhism?)
>the Japanese guy (Devil/Buddhist monk who was later possessed by the Tengu)
>the girl (a spirit of Jesus or something/a girl who was possessed by the Youko)
>the Shaman (the Devil's tool/mountain monks who worship the Tengu, called the Yamabushi I think)
>>
>>788087
The 3rd set is the simplest of them all. It's 100% secular.
>during the first crime scene you noticed a funky looking freak mushroom and some of them was eaten
>basically the people who've turned to freaks are infected by some kind of extreme new disease from the mushroom
>the villagers being rural and can't science for shit of course turns to supernatural assumptions as is their way since the olden days

So basically if you consider everything, the writer is just fucking with us for our own close-mindedness and stupidity. This is why I really love The Wailing.
>>
>>788088>>788087

Please also ignore the namefagging
>>
>>788087
Your first theory cannot be true the Shaman looked truly horrified and shocked to the core when the dad interupted the ritual; he new the consequences were about to be very grave.
The Devil is full of crap he just wants to feed and spread misery.

The girl is the village spirit/guardian I can't see how she represents Christianity at all infact Christianity seems powerless in this film.
>>
>>788088
That theory doesn't explain everybody having the same visions of the same naked guy eating people, it also doesn't explain how the Japanese guy survived being threw of cliff.

fun movie with some really bad acting but enjoyable jump scares. horror not so much though. plot was kinda vague at times and the concept that each character "experienced" their own youth trauma was so horribly acted that I didn't enjoy that part.

>>
>>783895
I've seen it today. It's not a horror movie, but a psychological thriller. The film's marketing is very misleading. It's nothing like its trailers.

I think it's OK, but nothing special. It pretends to be smarter than it really is. Some things are left unexplained, but instead of being mysterious and having many possible causes, it feels that they are unexplained because the writer didn't know how to explain them in a plausible way. [SPOILER] What was the dog barking at? Who knows? The point is, it needed to escape into the woods to come back infected later and move the story forward]

>>783895
I had high expectations with this, but was a complete waste of time.
