Post here your 90s PC games.

I'm on a kick for these types of games, since I'm on third shift and have a lot of time to kill. Bonus points for RPG and repeatability. I'm kinda on the hunt for the older CIV games cause I just found out about the never-ending war and it fascinated me.

I'll start it slow:

I have no mouth, and I must scream
Based on the short story. Read it, (you can find it easily) feel your face melting away, then play the point and click game that will ruin your life.

https://thepiratebay.org/torrent/8883282/I__Have__No__Mouth__and__I__Must__Scream__GOG

Fallout 2 mod:
http://falloutmods.wikia.com/wiki/Killap%27s_Fallout_2_Restoration_Project

It removes the need for the disc, and makes it oh so much better.

BONERUS: I run a Macbook while I'm on the go, so this has been invaluable to me, even though I have to dual boot to play games on Win 7. For anyone in my predicament, the following program will activate your Win 7 for you. It's a lifesaver for anyone that needs to dual boot or run a VM to play games:
http://daz7activator.com/
It's a bitch to finally get to the download link, but when you do, save the .exe. It hasn't failed me since.

My contributes suck, post better ones.

ok, so not exactly a torrent, but a good place to kick off:
http://www.old-games.com/
the site is stuck in the 90's, and you can download maximum 2 games per day at something ridiculous like 15kbps, BUT, they almost always come prepackaged with dosbox configuration (and even Win3.1 install at times) if they're not modern windows compatible and, well, the selection is just good.

Some faves:
http://www.old-games.com/download/6089/exile-3-ruined-world -childhood classic. Huge world to explore.
http://www.old-games.com/download/1146/bad-blood - p.fun zelda-esque action-rpg in post-nuclear wasteland. The twist is, YOU are the mutant!

ALSO YES, the site has some blatantly pirated shit aside from the abandonware, which is why I would advise against supporting them. Some of the stuff on the site, on the other hand is also avaible through GOG, so actually torrenting them is often a better option than waiting for the abysmally slow transfer to complete.

Also, try Ultima, OP.

This has some 90s games such as Age of Empires, Fallout, Half Life, in addition to others (mostly not 90s)

Thanks for that link OP. My perhaps favourite computer game ever is "Hellbender". On the Windows 95 CD there was a trial level you could play for free. When I first discovered it when I got my first computer in '95 I spent hours and hours flying around the cave systems and blowing shit up, it was sheer awesomeness. A couple of years ago I bought the original game used on a CD and finally played it all the way through, that was an incredibly satisfying feeling, like a closure of some sort. I bougt a new notebook with Windows 10 some days ago, I really need to see if the game will still run on it. I never managed to get the video sequences to run on my Windows 7 machine.

I had pretty much the same experience but with Fury3 (Hellbender's predecessor), came on a Microsoft Home sampler disk for Win95 IIRC. God it felt good getting to play the entire game of not only that but all those mid-late 90's demo disc games I never got to play until years later. Yeah like you said, a feeling of closure or some sort. Anyway just letting you know Windows 10 has terrible compatibility issues for old games. You'll either have to run a virtual machine or get lucky with DOSBOX, or uninstall W10 and revert to 7.

find it funny that even in spite of rampant pirating and all that, GOG still makes it just fine as a business
>>
>>801942
Not particulary funny or surprising, the old "piracy equals lost sales" hypothesis has never been verified after all, and I know I'd never pay for any DRM content. Because if it has DRM I'll never own it in any meaningful way, I'm just renting it for as long as they allow me to use it. You'd give them money and receive nothing but a promise.

For being a thread on /t/, there are disappointingly few actual torrents here.

When my fiancée and I were younger, our parents were rather restrictive avout our computer access, and would only let us play educational or other (mostly) kid-friendly stuff. We still have a few original CDs of these games, or at least we've found some copies floating around the Internet. Most of these torrents are ripped from our own collection. As a result, this list is going to be a bit eclectic.

What promise? Most EULAs make it explicit that you don't even have that. It stops working when it stops working, and all you can do is cry and bitch about (or simply pirate it if you're not retarded).

i find it funny that the owners of GoG are the same company that sent out blackmail letters to pirates of Witcher 2 in Germany.

for anyone not remembering: they threatened gamers to pay a high fee to them OR ELSE they would take them to court for an even higher fee + legal costs. they said they did this only to those they were 100% sure had pirated their games, except it's really impossible to know for certain who is using a connection. they sent out hundreds if not thousands of these blackmails.

CD Projekt (owners of GoG and the devs of the Witcher series) has redeemed themselves with GoG in my eyes however I think it's strange how many have forgotten that they once sent out blackmail letters to many people.

However I do not like at all that CD Projekt actually got a trademark for the term "cyberpunk". That's just an evil thing to do no matter how you look at it. GoG is good but they can't do many more evil things just because of GoG.
