Not that anon, but dyscalculia exists.

I'll save you the Google search. Basically, it means your brain is physically incapable of keeping certain types of memory stored. Without these reference points, some one with dyscalculia literally cannot visualize distance, quantity, and in some cases 3d mapping processes such as a person's face. I literally could not tell you the difference between a mile and a foot beyond "one is a lot longer than the other".

It really sucks when trying to play a game like D&D, because with no reference point for what a number represents, math is nearly impossible to do. If I want to add, say, 4 and 5, I need to mentally count out 1, 2, 3, etc. to find the answer because I'm physically incapable of understanding the numbers involved. I fucking hated math class.

Pert is also the unimaginative bastard who thought filling a bigger-than-a-land-raider transport with an Imperial Army gun so large that firing it in said transport would likely break the spine of any unaugmented human on board from the recoil shock was a wonderful idea, because sticking two useful things together is inventing

Perturabo is quite a tragic character, if you think about it.
He's physically imposing, and with some training he could become a fierce, mighty warrior like Russ and Angron. But he's a calm, humble man, at least in the beginning.
So he turns to technology, which he appreciates, as it gives him something to catch onto. The laws of physics don't change, but with his intellect, he could change reality as we know it. If he put his mind into it, maybe he could have helped Vulkan and Ferrus with their workings, perfecting them even. But he sees the workings of Vulkan and Ferrus and passes his interest off as not that useful. So he moves on to pursue other goals.
He sees Guiliman and the Lion, the beloved sons who could build an empire all on their own and their tactics seem flawless (at first), so Perturabo tries it too, and lo and behold: he wins many a battle too! But his victories are thankless tasks, and he ends up bitter and hurt.
What's left for him? Arts and beauty for him, like Sanguinius and Fulgrim? Maybe, he could be a ladies man, fi he didn't wear his ugly armour and cared a bit more for himself. But he doesn't need them anyway, and while he likes art, he has a hard time making something he deems worthwhile.
He will never be as tough as Mortarion, Magnus' knowledge far surpasses anything he could hope to understand. The Khan maybe? Perturabo might find bikes interesting, but he's more comfortable at home. And Dorn, oh Dorn! Beloved and trusted by his father, a real man, hard as adamantium and tough as ferrocrete! Perturabo found some genuine fun in architecture, but Dorn always surpasses him, even insulting him!
He is overshadowed in all fields, even though he is above average in all of them. But he lacks the ambition to make something out of it, instead he becomes hateful and outright cruel. He just ends up micromanaging his toy soldiers without any joybecoming a lifeless husk of a man.

The sad truth is, Perturabo is (you)

This is what I've said in the past. Perturabo and the Iron Warriors have such a large fan base because they a lot of remind fa/tg/uys of themselves. I and no doubt many others can relate to him on so many levels.

>>
>>52786643
Wasn't it straight up said that Perturabo is the most scientifically intelligent of all the Primarchs? And the best inventor?
Also, the reason why he was so bitter was because he sought glory for himself. Dorn was wholly loyal and dedicated to The Emperor, and was thus appreciated. Perturabo was the guy that volunteered for shitty jobs and then threw a bitchfit when you didn't fellate him for it. Dorn was the guy that you knew you could count on to do his best to do any job and not ask for anything in return. Perturabo wasn't tragic, or left behind, or any of that.
>>
>>52820714
partly, i think. Pert sought appreciation, not glory, and mainly wanted to do things that had nothing to do with war, for example building things like the coliseum on Nikaia, yet this was not what the Emperor wanted of his gene-sons. Pert did it because it was his duty to his father, but his father never recognized him or appreciated him, so he became bitter.
>>
>>52820890
He was described as being extremely cold and detached since his youth. His idea of ''appreciation'' was glory and praise. He's a selfish, bitter fuck, who couldn't stand the idea that his brothers (particularly Dorn) were both better then him in various things AND objectively better, humbler people.
>>
>>52820997
"You don't know the things I dream. No one does, no one ever cared enough to find out." Perturabo to Fulgrim before slaying his corporeal form. That sounds neither cold nor detached. That was the facade he presented to shield himself from the horrors of war that ultimately broke him and turned him bitter. Although I agree that Dorn was, objectively, the better person.
>>
>>52821105
Literally his first act upon joining the Great Crusade was brutally massacring his sons. I get where you're coming from, but i find it EXTREMELY hard to sympathize with a Primarch who, on top of being a colossal asshole, mistreated his Legion so badly.
>>
>>52821571
Well, think about his entire life up to that point.
He had waged a successful world conquest, and was trying to overthrow his "father" for forcing Pert to do that fight. He already had an entire lifetime of repressed rage built up inside of him, and when his legion triggered his autism (the Iron warriors were supposed to be HIM, but they didn't have quite as much autism), he let lose with all that repressed rage and anger.

And afterwards, he realized just what he had done. That's the real tragedy of Perturabo, that he does all this chaosy stuff, but unlike literally every other traitor primarch, he knows that what he's doing is wrong.
>>

Boom. Lorgar WAS a mewling, easily manipulated failure right up until corax was unzipping his innards. After that he manned the fuck up and became the primarch he was destined to be.

Of course the blame can be spread here. why exactly DID big E tolerate outright worship for as long as he did? why was more effort not taken to turn lorgar from his path? and why did the most powerful psychic alive not notice the unhealthy influence a certain pair exerted over him?

When Perturabo was being knighted by the Emperor to go on crusade he was smiling and that is described as one of the very few moments when he felt genuine happiness.

Also something to note in this general conversation is Perturabos connection to the eye of terror a.k.a. space hell. Ever since he awoke on Olympia he constantly saw the eye looking at him and no one else, including his brothers, never saw it. The eye of terror plays a roll in Perturabo's character as it is something foreign that is constantly watching him and causes him to feel insecure his very being, as if he might be defective.

No he wasn't, he was seemingly quite content to serve as his father's general and architect-in-chief - he clearly didn't like it all that much, or his foster-father for that matter, and the guy knew it, but he was also well aware just how capable Pert was of fucking him over and basically handled him with incredible care and respect- as much as he could have while Pert was still his vassal.

Which, come to think of it, was probably why Pert was so keen to be warmaster and so annoyed when Horus got the job (and his paranoia, of course)

The thing is, the Emperor has a different perspective from almost any other being (maybe he shared some common ground with the old ones but it's too late to swap notes now so lets move on)

The Emperor genuinely didn't think of the Chaos powers as gods, just as very powerful primordial interdimensional begins.

Lorgar wanted something to believe in so badly, wanted a god, a perfect answer, one who could do no wrong, an ultimate power he wanted it so badly he turned to the chaos gods.

In the Emperor's perspective there were no gods, just very powerful beings.
In Lorgar's perspective there was no difference between a very powerful being and a god. He thought that beings as powerful as the chaos powers were gods by definition.
>>
>>52838260
>In Lorgar's perspective there was no difference between a very powerful being and a god. He thought that beings as powerful as the chaos powers were gods by definition.

Is there really a difference, though? What IS the difference between something primordially powerful almost to the point of being more than we can imagine, and being a literal god? Where is the line?

>Perturabo was the guy that volunteered for shitty jobs and then threw a bitchfit when you didn't fellate him for it
On the contrary, anon
Many Primarchs, most noticeably Russ and Khan, disregarded the petitions of mortals (who are the true un-heralded face of the Great Crusade) and warred wherever they fucking pleased. But Perturabo splintered his legion again and again, all of it for the sake of the human lives history so keenly depicts him as "wasting"
Because despite not really believeing in the Emperor's work, he did his part and then even more. His legion bled the most and did the shitty jobs the others didn't want to do
That's an important thing. Wanting to do things vs Doing your duty
Remember that time when Warmaster Horus issued a DIRECT ORDER to Corax that he should attack Gate 42...and the raven fucker outright said "No"? What nerve! Perturabo accuse him on the spot of the greatest crime of them all, the crime even a Primarch could be court-martialled for: Dereliction of duty
Many legions did what they wanted, but only the Iron Warriors obeyed to the letter, and since they were both the workhorse legion and the one that also could do sieges (which many others couldn't do), it only resulted that the Iron Warriors were ordered to do the most difficult jobs there were. A self-fulfilling fate, like so many other legions.
But a duty they weren't being lauded by.
You know Mortarion.
Almost asocial, but even he recognized a warrior's truth: they need to be shown recognition, you must let them know they're valued. That's why he did the ritual of the Cups and moved the pride of his warriors from medals anyone could give you to scars only you could endure.
But that wasn't the case for Perturabo's lot. Relentless in their duty, peerless in its execution, yet not even a "thank you" was ever given. His legion, misused in every sense of the word
And then he solved a problem the WS & SW together couldn't solve, and yet Perturabo's name was left out. Tragedy.
>>
>>52840475
>and the raven fucker outright said "No"? What nerve!
Horus had ordered a Legion that was specialized in covert ops, sabotage and guerrilla warfare to perform a full frontal assault on heavy fortifications. Corax had every right to call him out on his shit. In hindsight, it was obvious Horus wanted to weaken the Legions that he knew would not be loyal to him.
Perturabo was unpleasant to everyone. Yes, they were dicks to him but he was a MASSIVE dick all around. Dorn and The Fists are berated as the most boring Primarch and Legion, yet they are revered and respected in-universe, despite being very similar to Perturabo, why? Because Dorn wasn't a dick, everything he did he did out of loyalty and he never wanted or expected a ''thank you''. Dorn could have literally never been recorded in history and he would have been fine with that.

>Chaos was eternal, and as much as it is self devouring and self defeating, it is also a font of endless power constantly regurgitating itself
>This cycle of life was writ real in the dismal garden where decay and birth went hand in hand.
>Fungus and maggot, bacteria and scavenger all thrived of the detritus of the previously living. And it was this circular force that robbed Ynnead of his power

>Behind the veil, the scream takes a carnival of forms, riotous and infinite in variety. The frail laws of physics that so coldly govern the material universe have no power – here, those binding codes fracture into their separate fictions. Here, time itself goes to die.

>On and on it plunges, crashing and dissolving and reforming in the endless storm. It ruptures a cloud-burst of other screams that haven’t yet been cried aloud. It punctures the fire-flesh of shrieking ghosts, adding to the torment of those lost and forsaken souls. It knifes through a disease that was rendered extinct by man-made cures twenty-six thousand years before.

>And on. And on. And on. Clashing with moments that haven’t yet happened, that won’t happen for half an eternity. Grinding against events that took place back when the earliest Terran creatures exhaled water and – for the very first time – raked in lungfuls of air.

>Behind the veil, there is no when and then. Everything is now. Always and eternally now, in the shifting tides of an infinite malignance.

-Master of Mankind

Here is a excerpt about Drach'nyen's birth. Notice how time means nothing in the Warp.

So lets run this by you guys. We have eternal beings ruling a source of endless power that makes them essentially omnipotent. They hold dominion over nature and the aspects of reality (and unreality), and life and death.

So explain why these immortal beings of immense power shouldn't be worshipped when their wrath is infinite and their generosity is equally so?

>Chaos has no beginning and no end. It simply is.
That notion is only true in the inmaterium, where time is percieved simultaneously like Dr. Manhattan.
For example, Slaanesh DOES have a very definite beginning in the materium, gestating since M25 and being born in M30, even if in the inmaterium he has always existed in some places and in others he's still yet to be born.
Chaos gods feed on emotions, but apparently are a localized fenomenon tied only to this galaxy, since there are no Bug God daemons despite Tyranids apparently attacking from more than a single galaxy of origin.

Easy. The aformentioned thing with Corrax and his autistic outbursts at Dorn.

Then Horus was playing favorites because otherwise he's a fucking retard. During the Siege of Terra, The Emperor wouldn't allow Corrax to participate because his Legion would be obliterated, even under those desperate circumstances.

>If our galaxy ends, the chaos gods will end as well.

Nah, Chaos won't end.

In fact, Chaos doesn't have a true beginning. HH series makes it clear that the Chaos Gods were hiding within the Warp bidding their time until they present themselves. This was thanks to the pylons that kept them out of the galaxy for too long built during the War of Heaven.

Yes, Chaos daemons were a threat even during the times before and during the War in Heaven that's why Necrons and the Old Ones created World Cages (Traitor's Hate/Angel's Blade and the plot of Dawn of War 3) to contain the daemonic threat. Also we have Be'lakor who has memories of those times. So saying that Slaanesh has the definite beginning in the galaxy is foolish considering that his daemons were running amok long before his "birth" took place.

>but apparently are a localized fenomenon tied only to this galaxy

Nope, picture related.

Chaos is not limited to this galaxy. More than once it's said to be universal.

>since there are no Bug God daemons despite Tyranids apparently attacking from more than a single galaxy of origin.

>So explain why these immortal beings of immense power shouldn't be worshipped when their wrath is infinite and their generosity is equally so?
Because you're a human and to them you're only a plaything, you Monstrous Cuck. The galaxy either doesn't care about you or is actively trying to eat you. Chaos cares only about itself. They pretended to give a fuck about Lorgar because they used him and Horus to destroy the thing that threatened them. The Emperor, their anathema.
The deed is done, and now Abaddon creates eternal war that keeps feeding them, which is a better scenario than total extinction or complete peace. Chaos won that time and isn't losing this time either, while mankind just barely survives, even those on the traitors' side.
That's why, despite chaos' power being nigh-limitless and after telling Lorgar that lie about symbiosis, Gal Vorbak are no more, only shitty possessed.

I thought it was the case that chaotic warp energy was eternal, but chaotic warp energy assembling into a sentient being was absolutely something that was caused by other sentient creatures in real-space, hence Slaanesh being created. If there's nobody in the universe to understand the concept of pleasure and pain then Slaanesh as a thinking entity will cease to exist.
>>
>>52841689
>Slaanesh as a thinking entity will cease to exist

That would require time to affect the Warp when it's established it does not. To the Warp, the end of the universe has already happened paralleling the big bang that birthed it. Everything is happening at the same time in the eyes of the Chaos Gods.
