To those in the previous thread about my Ogre post: thanks.

>As soon as you stop having fun, use a better team. In a game about minimizing your need for luck, ogres require you to roll golden dice for an entire game.

Never read a better summary of the team. It definately made me realize how in their own way, the gobs and flings are better in many ways.

I think I will try them again but unlike the other two who have great stars and inducements to help them scale, ogres seem to fall flat at a certain point.
>>
>>55273484

Good luck with them. Just try other team soon. Nothing will up your skills quite as much as playing each style a bit and doing analysis of your own games.

Signups list at the moment, we're going all Rookies again this season.
>>
>>55273591

8 or 16 team playoffs?
>>
>>55273647

8 at the moment, 16 from 22/24 seems a lot
>>
>>55273675

What i really wish is that teams that didnt make it into 2nd round of playoffs played a short 2-game round of exhibition matches, to avoid the slippery slope where the strongest teams get into playoffs, play 3-4 extra games and become even stronger as result.
>>
>>55273762
Wish for getting gud skrub
>>
>>55273762

That's not a bad shout, particularly in Vets (if we ever see one again).

In Rookies though I imagine a lot of people who don't make the cut would probably just discard the team anyway.

The Rebbit League (RIP) was trash, but they gave fresh teams a 3 game pre-season. Only problem was it was split geographically not by TV, so it didn't make much difference against the 1800TV teams they then played in the season.
>>
>>55273531
Thanks. I hope this round goes better. I was thinking Vampires or Norse next. That said on

>As soon as you stop having fun, use a better team.

I did. I went Goblins and won 3/5 games. Drew the other two. Was lucky of course (Ripper helped phenomelly) but was a weight off my shoulders using them

>that feel when Nuffle drops trou and sends a steady stream of Unclean Ones down your throat all game
The number of double 1/skulls I got was unreal, which was especially frustrating since I was up against Lizardmen with a fresh Skaven team so not being able to roll a block against skinks meant I was totally screwed.
>>
>>55274154
Use your stormvermin to hunt skinks.
>>
>>55274219
When I got the opportunity I did, it was just Push,Trip, Skull all the way. Should've just conceded after my catcher rolled 4 1's in a row trying to catch and then pick up the ball turn 1.
>>
>>55274287
Sounds rough. Lizards though are brutal to fight at the start so thats expected. Keep on trucking man.
>>
>>55274643
Had another real bad game against Norse after that but Nuffle finally threw me a bone and put me up against a few Vamp and EU teams in quick succession. Nice, fragile teams for my RO, SVs, and a couple lucky linemen to rank up on. There was a Chaos Dwarfs game that could've gone poorly but I got super lucky and injured nearly all of his Hobgoblins in the first half while only suffering a single knockout in turn.
>>
>>55274780
Nice but

>rat ogre
I see what may be contributing to your problem. Granted Norse are a tough team for most. The rat ogre is generally seen as too expensive for his cost. In my view you are better having 3 linerats as insurrance when your team is getting trounced. Which as skaven is expected.
>>
I know this has probably been asked a fuck ton already but I don't wanna sift through the last thread.

Should I get BB1 legendary edition or wait until BB2 is on sale? What's the difference between them, anyway?
>>
>>55274886
bb2 le
>>
>>55274883
Oh I knew he was a poor investment, much like Chaos's Minotaur he's just not worth the cost given the risk he presents. I just tend to turn every team I play into an at least partially bashy team anyway, so if I was gonna hamstring a heavy runner team like that might as well do it right.

>>55274886
BB2 is shinier, has some annoying camera options, and doesn't have Khorne Daemons. Also I think it is kinda on sale atm for 40$ from 45.
>>
>>55274886
Bb2 le has more players, superior league functions, better graphics, a large and active playerbase and a fun little story mode. Its tutorial is better than bb 1 le too. The core game is the same but in bb1 you will only be playing the AI.

Id recommend Bb2 le.

>>
>>55275705
They are both bad for various reasons. Really Stupid is only better because the players with it are better on their teams as opposed to WA players being useless on their teams.

Having to block or blitz to move isn't good, but having to keep two players on top of each other also isn't good. However, keeping tackle zones is very nice.
>>
>>55273875
Ha, you are taking the slow slope up to good teams. Not that that's a bad thing. Learn all you can and maybe you'll be a beast with tier 1 teams.

Right, last call.

Going to start the League tonight, currently we're at 25 confirmed, and I'd like an even number.

In the case I don't get any more PM's, chopa will be in.

I don't mind him trying to help me out by acting as a filler when we have two divisions, but he said this whilst not having a fresh team in the League at the moment for me to enter. At the time of him saying this I rolled a d25 on the Create Team page and will expect him to play with Dark Elves.
>>
>>55274886
BB1 is barely viable as a network game these days - you go into the lobby and the same 8 or so whales are sitting there, with their 69% win ratio and 1,000s of matches to their name. So you won't have much fun playing against them.

The differences are a couple of teams (BB2 has Brets and Kislev; BB1 has Khorne), and graphics. BB1 plays waaaaay faster, however.
>>
>>55275076
Chaos mino isn't mandatory, but he is a powerful addition around the 1250-1300 TV range. By then you have a few skills on warriors, and the minotaur basically lets you parachute in an additional, pre-built kill piece to deal with your opponent's better skilled pieces.

After TV1700, if he dies I won't replace him; if he's still alive at tv1850, I give him the boot. That TV drop, at that stage, is when your chaos becomes genuinely competitive.

So what are your Chaos Renegade "essentials"? I'd think the Orc and the Elf, certainly, but is the goblin worth it for the TTM potential, or is his gold best saved towards more big bastards?
Which non-humans do you guys typically favor?
>>
>>55319685
Hell naw. Give him either orcs, norse or humans.
>>
>>55319685
Chaos is a very straightforward team, and the lack of skills may make it seem useful for learning the basics of moving, blocking and passing, but since the skills are such a huge part of the game anyway, I'd consider learning how to use a player's skills as part of "the basics". I mean, you look at the skills Human and Orc teams start with, and they're all skills people typically level into anyway.
Besides that, the horns make it easy to get careless with your blocks, since a +1 Str on the blitz is a fairly significant bonus.
As a Chaos player, I'd say Orcs are a better learning team. Just gotta have him bear in mind that linemen aren't completely incompetent at a positional's job and that anyone can fill any role in a pinch, which will be important to remember when players start hitting the medic's tent.
>>
>>55319813
>>55319710
Thanks for hat help. I'll keep him to Orcs, just in our practice game, I killed a lineorc, maimed a blitzer and crippled a Black Orc (-1 Str) so was considering alternatives. I got insanely lucky though but still.

>>55319692
It depends. Some people tend to just go the Chaos linemen, dark elf, and maybe one big guy. Two at a pinch. The Line Orc would be an excellent addition now to the roster. If you're going to go the Goblin, he technically comes with the Troll to get bang for your buck so that's 140k. I'd suggest taking Ogre or Troll for being tanky, or Minotaur for offensiveness. Two if you want some extra muscle but not sure on the roster variation on that.
>>
>>55319998
>If you're going to go the Goblin, he technically comes with the Troll to get bang for your buck so that's 140k
In which version? In DZ2, they're separate players. Gob's 40k and Troll's 110k

Right now, my starting build is Ogre, Orc, Goblin, Delf and 8 Humans, with 3 rerolls, a doc, 2 cheerleaders and 2 assistant coaches because I don't have a spare Mino or Troll laying around
>>
>>55320070
Cut the cheerleaders and coaches.
>>
>>55320070
Oh I didn't mean literally but more so the Goblin himself is mainly used for TTM. For some reason I forgot the Ogre can throw him too, so ignore what I said previously.

That roster looks fine actually, just be careful of managing the Goblin.

I would suggest dropping cheerleader and assistant coaches and bank that for a Doctor after the first game.

Most Pact teams don't run every positional. The Dark Elf is probably a must, and at least one Big Guy: most people take the Ogre for sure, but there's debate on whether the Troll is a better choice than Mino or not.

From Blood Bowl Compendium
Did you know..
Skeleton Freeboter Ricardo Ferminelli, once of the Pergamo Pastas, made it his ambition to play for every NAF league team once he turned Undead following a five-player gang-up block. Oddly enough, he claime to prefer working with live teammates. He made it through the AFC in 5 seasons, then started on the NFC. Just 3 teams short of his goal, he was tragically buried by a Westside Werewolf. The world is still waiting for him to reappear.

I knew about this thanks to the Both Down Podcast, and really love the idea of having a Skeleton as one of the 0-16/0-12 guys

And I'm clueless on how to make Skaven Ricardo and a Orc Ricardo because (for the moment) that's are all the teams I have, Human, Chaos Chosen, Orcs, skaven (not build yet) and Chaos Renegades (because the challenge on how to make look so many different miniatures like they are from one team is really like it )

Pic related vanilla Ricardo
>>
>>55322035
For what I read, this is true, but my idea is to make a Complete Team with every positional I may use.
I'm thinking on get some human linemen and put chaos marauder heads and (more) spikes on them or maybe buy a box of marauders and began to also build a Norse team

As for the elf I was thinking on get a single witch elf or the dark eldar succubus or dark elf supreme sorceress, any other alternative?

I think just go with the Succubus. Nice change, could do some green stuff to make a cool facial mask for her too.

blood bowl legendary edition is really fun, I like the vs ai mode, a pity the ai is garbage they actually made it worse
>>

Yeah, they sure love buying trash star players with the massive amounts of free cash they get from you never losing a match. Honestly unless you're as unlucky as me you'll probably never have trouble as most teams.
>>
>>55328758
I've only had one draw vs the ai, if you play a mixed team and join a cup that has mixed teams the ai is EVEN WORSE because they don't know how to make mixed teams (they take random shit, so they'll take vampires without thralls) and because the players are mixed they don't know how to use their pieces
>>
>>55328864
They're awful with vamps in general. Even when they've got a thrall in range they'll ignore it to get closer to the ball half the time.

If this current game I'm in wasn't in a knockout league it'd be a draw, I've lost 9 turns to rolling skulls so far.

I think they'd more than likely favor a kit made from lighter-weight materials for ease of movement. Yes they're wearing a full suit, but it could just as easily be dyed leather or thinner sheets of metal rather than the bulkier stuff other teams wear. Maybe it's some ultra-light artificial material that can only stand up to as many hits as the average elf expects he'll fail to dodge away from.
>>

Good point. I guess that would make since since Pro Elf teams are dirt broke compared to their High Elven cousins.

>can teams from the old edition be played with the new edition?
Depends on your group, but generally yes. GW's released a "Teams of Legend" PDF that contains rules for teams not yet released in a Death Zone supplement. Almost nobody's gonna care if you use ancient minis or non-GW minis either.

>How does one make their own OC team
Are you talking about flavor-wise, or rules-wise? Flavor's easy. Pick a race you like, think up some player names and imagine a bit about what each one's like, what their play style's like, what their fans are like, etc... Almost nobody uses stock GW teams like the Reavers or Gouged Eye. Making your own team background is half the fun.
If you're talking rules-wise, best avoided. There's plenty of teams to pick from already, so no shortage of variation. If you REALLY need to, make a team with a similar feel to an existing team, and use the existing team's rules. Basically what the new BB2 expansion did when they used the Slaan team rules to make their Kislev Circus team. Best one I've seen was a team of gnomes piloting giant robots that used the rules for the Ogre team.
("These are my fox-morphs, the Steel Donuts, but rules-wise, they count as dark elves")

>and star players?
If you really, REALLY need to make an OC star player, do the same thing with the counts-as team. Make a cool miniature, give it a bit of backstory, and give him the same stats as somebody already in the book. ("This is star player Lord Edge, playing for the Steel Donuts, but rules-wise he counts as Eldril Sidewinder")
>>
>>55345990
Yeah I was talking fluff wise
>>
>>55346113
Blood Bowl's really a pretty "anything goes" kind of place, and there's not a lot of concrete details about the setting, so by all means get creative. If you want an example, here's the fluff for my team.

>Formerly known as the Blood Drinkers, the team was forced to disband after the "Yopo incident", where several players consumed illicit substances brought in by Amazon team, the Coral Snakes and proceeded to fly into a violent, drug-fueled frenzy during the match, injuring, killing and cannibalizing several opposing players, referees, spectators and teammates before even kicking off. While many former Blood Drinkers received a permanent ban from professional play, a handful of the original players still remain in the new team, the Black Forest Bonebreakers.
>The major condition for the league allowing the team to reform was that their head coach was not allowed to have a monotheistic worship of Khorne on the team. This led their coach, bray shaman Old White, to seek out a former rival. A Warrior of note from the Twisted Claw, Aximand dal Narbath, and disciple of Tzeentch and Nuffle, decided to sign on with the Breakers as assistant coach on the condition that he be allowed to play as well. Now "Affirmative Aximand" helps lead the team on and off the pitch, his razor-sharp cunning turning the thuggish aggression of the team in a more constructive direction.

Having positionals that are competitively unavailable or useless until you win MANY games (or never at all) is a part of the game.

looneys is basically a better goblin that doesn't get kicked out for cheating.

What anon said is true.

Always dodge out of tackle zones, always.

Cage up, but not if the enemy is all tied down on the midfield and they can't reach you when your ball carrier breaks away.
>>
>>55365474
What teams are you using him against? The Looney is not so hot vs Av9, at least when blitzing with him. Vs av7 he is a straight up murder.

However he is best used as a safety on both offense and defense. As in, keep him at the rear and wait for a break through or a big threat (with low or medium AV), then smack him with the saw. Ideally wait for the opponent to expose their ball carrier then smack him with the saw.

Also what you can do is risk blitzing with the Looney and if he knocks over the opponent, cover him with two goblins to tackle zone/screen him off from retaliation.

I prefer using him as a deterrant more so than go buzz crazy unless its an AV7. Vs av9, if you really want you can knock over someone and with 3 assists, try to foul them.

Aight its fucking salt time, boy.

How do you enjoy this game when the other coach rolls pows, gets injuries and removals and generally just rolls 6?

The dice log makes it horribly obvious when you looking at some fuck ton of pushes and minimal pows/stumbles and they've joined the yellow gravy train.

Have i got blood bowl wrong? i read the guide and it say its a game of risk and the better coach wins but you dont need to be a good fucking coach if i have only 6 mens alive, you dont need to be a good coach if you roll 6s on a retarded play, what the fuck?

But on a serious note, is playing to win a stupid thing in this game? have i got it wrong?
>>
>>55373242

You can play to win, but you absolutely have to accept that the dice gods are real and full of caprice.

The only thing you can do is put as many roadblocks in your opponents way and pray for him to finally roll that 1 or double 1. But sometimes you just have games where you finish a half with 3 of your rerolls remaining unspent.
And you started the game with 2.
There are still hard limits to an opponents turn you can maximise though. He can only make one blitz being the main one. So restrict his block options. Take a step back if you can.

Otherwise, turn this game of fantasy-american football into fantasy Basketball and get into a high speed TD race and hope your dice and skills don't give out before his does.
>>
>>55373242

Blood Bowl's a game about leagues and tournaments, like in sporting seasons. The better coach won't win every game because of variation, but they will win more games overall and not be so fucked over by luck as a new player would be.

On another level, Blood Bowl's a parody game where brutal injuries and horribly unfair matchups are played for comedy value. The game hands you teams like Halflings and Ogres, unapologetically tells you that they are shit, and invites you to see if your skill and the luck of the dice can let you pull off a win with them. The game is deliberately designed so that you can spend months or years building up a player IRL only to have him killed by a thrown rock while setting up a game. In Blood Bowl someone's always going to get fucked in the end, and it'll be brutal, and sometimes it'll be them and sometimes it'll be you. You won't enjoy it if you don't appreciate the humour.

I play Khemri because I find the idea of a bunch of skeletal American football players fumbling for the ball and fucking up hilarious. I also play Dark Elves because I think their positionals are cool, their edgy designs are funny and because I sometimes like to win games.
>>
>>55372945
sorry i meant when youre playing bloodbowl in a skillful enviroment, should have assumed you're a bb2 baby where every game ends in a concession once you get one armor break. ogres probably work really well in that environment
>>
>>55373242
the vast majority of games you lose are not because of dice. sure you can get diced every once in a while, but bloodbowl's all about positioning, and rolling as few dice as possible while forcing your opponent to roll as many dice as possible. if you have 6 guys dead then you're probably a squishy team or against a cpomb stack, in which case you only give him the 1 blitz a turn by dodging, blocking out, or not standing up.

Few important questions anon

- Who are you using?
- How long have you been playing?
- Are you using the best lineup for your team?
- Are you keeping your men in tackle zones?

Playing to win isn't bad at all, part of Blood Bowl is having fun and/or thinking very hard about risk, reward and potentially making a hard call which could pay off hugely with one or two critical dice rolls.

Positioning is also huge to influence or reduce potential disasters which may happen to you. I've gone through winning 9/10 games as rookie Chaos before so its plausible to try to win. It just takes time to adjust.
>>
>>55373931
av9 thick skull =/= base constantly if you don't need to. never ever base someone unless it accomplishes something important. if you're just going to stand up and get knocked down again av9 will break eventually. obviously this rule doesn't apply against some teams like rookie lizards or if you're basing a big guy and keeping him out of the game but yeah

they are. they're the toughest team to hurt, but if you're constantly giving away blocks any team will lose players. you lost 4 players in 1 game but if you played like that with pretty much any other team you'd have lost many more. you generally don't want to go big dick manmark with dwarfs until you have a lot of guard on longbeards
>>
>>55362755
It doesn't seem that bad to me - you're not really supposed to get all the good stuff right away. There's no big-guy option, and the team could get away w/ only 3 warriors to start if someone really wanted to run 2 demagogues and the flamer instead.

Let's say 4 Warriors @ 120k/ea = 480, 1 Demagogue (M5 hobgoblin) @ 60, 7 Cultists (hobgoblins) @ 40 = 280, and 3 re-rolls @ 60/ea = 1,000.

Alternatively, if rerolls are 70/ea, we could take 2 and upgrade a cultist to a 2nd demagogue or start w/ an apothecary to protect the warriors.

I'm a little stumped on the stats and cost of the Flamer - perhaps a +S +AV Goblin Bombardier @ 100k?

How do you play Elven Union properly?

2 turn touchdown with nos catchers, elf screen, only give 1 block a turn, wish you were playing woodies.

I'd have to check, but we've lost most matches. Which I expect, a bashy chaos team isn't good until it has the right skills.
>>
>>55379905
Alright I checked, 3 wins 3 draws 17 losses. I suck
>>
>>55373921

agreed, totally.

I have a lot to learn when it comes to positioning, mainly how to stop easy 2 dice but i do count squares and hide shiny people ect.

That said, i was given easy 2 dice blocks which resulted in pushes but the other guy was consistently powing blodgers and the injuries racked up.

>- Who are you using?
Some sort of elves, trying out union currently

>- How long have you been playing?
BB2 is my first blood, haven't played constantly.

>- Are you using the best lineup for your team?
Dunno bout 2 blitzers, 2 catchers, 1 thrower and 3 rerolls sounds about right?

>- Are you keeping your men in tackle zones?
If i'm trying to get the ball, i might base a bit too much but generally no unless doges fail.
If its early into drive, i'll eat the hits but if its turn 4+ ill reroll to hopefully let some other guys escape.

>Playing to win isn't bad at all, part of Blood Bowl is having fun and/or thinking very hard about risk, reward and potentially making a hard call which could pay off hugely with one or two critical dice rolls.
The game last night was a draw, my last turn was to score a TD on a 2+ throw (with pass) and a 3+ catch (due to basing) with a team RR. of course the pass was intercepted on a 6, the guy made some blocks, passed on a 3+, caught on a 3+ scored.
>>
Whats the best team for con pick up games? Thinking of throwing 1 in my bag when going to conventions. any suggestions?
>>
Is it really worth it to field a armor 7 or even 8 teams ? I'm starting to think that it's not and it's best to stick to long lasting teams like Nurgle or Dwarfs
>>
>>55382061
skaven, and woodelves are both top tier teams. norse and zons are top tier at low tv. av7 really doesn't matter all that much if you don't give up pows all the time honestly.
>>
>>55382108
you are right that they are great it's just that seeing your best dudes get rekt and receive permanent damage/death breaks my heart and with AV 7 it can easily happen.

Anon went to GW shareholder meeting, relevant for BB here:

>the success of BB caught them by surprise, which is why there was a fairly big gap between gobbos and elves. The latter are the first team designed entirely since release, they intend to continue releasing about one team per quarter

You're fine. Chaos is hard to adjust to unless you were playing a worse team before. You may want to look at potential formations on defence. Something which I also try as any team is to start off as kicker. A good defense can win games far more than a good offense. Though a good offense helps a lot.

>>55381092
Thanks for answering my questions. Ya Elves are pretty good to start with but I can see why things may seem a bit skewered, especially for a squishy team like the Elven Union.

Your lineup is fine, but I am going to guess that maybe you're basing is being a bit too aggro, or at least too aggro for the Elven union guys. Rule of thumb would be to stay out of tackle zones full stop on defence, only really man mark on offense when you're bolting for the end zone and need to trash mark potential interceptors.

Also while I doubt you were in a situation that the opponent couldn't not try to intercept, its best to try to position so there are a number of options you can commit to than try to put all your eggs in one basket. Good luck though.

>Also want to appeal more to female gamers

Amazons soon
>>
>>55383354
Not once is female gamers mentioned in the thread. Would be a clever stunt though, explains the pro elves.
>>
>>55383449

AGManon here, there's a bit about female gamers in one of my first posts in the thread. Someone at the meeting said that their demographic was pretty monocultural and asked if the company was doing anything to attract the other 50% of the population. They said it was something they were aware of and working on, but they didn't want to do at the expense of alienating their existing customers or as tokenism or cliched sexy women. Essentially a kind of 'watch this space' answer.

This was in relation to GW in general rather than BB though. I didn't get anything on the teams that they have lined up after elves.
>>
>>55383524

Yeah, when I read that my first ideas were Amazons for BB, and new Codexes and a few new plastic kits for Sisters and Nids.
Necromunda is getting Eschers right out of the box, and when/if Mordheim get's redone I could see Sisters fo Sigmar if not in the starter then one of the first warbands done. Certainly they never got a plastic kit previously.

Has anyone ever worked out just what it is with Tyranids and female players?
>>
>>55383524
GW should be smart enough to realise that women and men don't like the same things. The only lap they have is for completely different reasons. That's why men like action films and women like romantic comedies. When they try to appeal to women they will just destroy anything the men like.

>>55383626
Women relate to a universe wide plague the consumes everything it touches.
>>
>>55383524

See >>55384108
>>
>>55383626

A lot of the concept work for escher has been done by a woman, apparently, so there's an awareness that they need to avoid tokenism. They're including female stormcast in several of the upcoming AoS releases, and we can probably expect to see the occasional female model in factions where it makes sense.

>>55383698

Yawn. Nobody wants to trash the games or the setting to appease SJW types, just play up the elements that already exist in the setting that can have a broader appeal. It's the same crowd of unpleasant neckbeards that put off women, new players, and socially adjusted types who decide to get back in to the hobby that they used to like as a kid. A small group of grognards who think they 'own' the hobby are of little use to anyone.
>>
>>55384248
If you don't defend the hobby then you will lose the hobby.

Think of it like playing Soccer. If you really like playing Soccer then what happens if all the new people who join your sports group like playing Rugby? There's only so much time and space you can play it. How long until you're the minority who doesn't want to pick up the game and not everyone just wants to play Rugby?

You have to gate keep or what you had becomes something you don't want. Just look at the oldhammer community and how after 3rd editions switch to be "more mainstream" and more Americanised they got completely side lined. It took them nearly 20 years to recover any sort of real community.
>>
>>55384355
Just to chime in here anon, there is genuine concerns of an outside demograph invading your hobby or industry, which in some cases is partially legit like western comic books and the 1/100th area of video games.

But tabletop games? That's a bit sensational. Even in the western comics here its sensationalized. Because we're on 4chan. So its easy for us to only see the absolute worst and ONLY the worst examples of SJW appeal.

The poster has already said that they aren't aiming to alienate their current customer base so don't go overboard with the whole "WE MUST DEFEND OUR HOBBY BEFORE THEY TAKE IT AWAY!"

Just hysterical.
>>
>>55384382
Did you play Dead Rising 4? They claimed they brought Frank back for the original fan base and how the game totally went back to the original DR while being more accessible. Then they gutted the game from top to bottom and made Frank into a hipster douchebag.

It's not about being hysterical it's about being aware of an oncoming storm. You have to prepare for it or you will get steam rolled by it.

Or are you one of those people who think Will Wheaton and his band of hipsters are a good representative for tabletop gaming?
>>
>>55384420
I don't even follow Will Wheaton or have played Dead Rising 4. But I do keep my ear to the ground. You are just proving my point about the echo chamber.

I saw E3 and its "diverse" characters. It was creatively bankrupt but nothing to put a trench helmet on me or start screaming the world is falling.

Just chill man. I mean, we're in BLOOD BOWL general. We're a niche of an already extremely niche hobby.
>>
>>55384442
I never said the sky was falling, you're adding hyperbole where it doesn't belong. What I'm saying is if you don't gate keep then you will lose your hobby to those most passionate about changing it.
>>
>>55384473
My bad. I misunderstood. I understand your point but goddamn. If we were to look at hobbies currently under the eyesight of the "diversity" crowd as a dart board, we're literally at the very edge of the damn thing. There is nothing to worry about.

And 100%, god forbid worst case we do get hit with the bat? There are plenty of other hobbies and there is nothing stopping you playing with your friends still.
>>
>>55384509
We're actually being targeted now. Tabletop games are growing and the likes of X wing are bringing attention to it. I would expect 5 years max before we see "Gamers are dead" type articles coming at us. The ground work is already laid and as you said video games are now negroid simulators at E3. There's not much more to push in vidya so they will move to the next hobby. Games like Malifaux already have a SJW community, they just aren't big enough for any one to care about.

I don't think you can say "there's always other hobbies". How many hobbies must you flee before you run out of things you enjoy? Some of us only have 2-3 hobbies and are dedicated to them.
>>
>>55384550
>5 years

I swear to god anon if I am still mega involved in this hobby, either I've done very well for myself or I haven't budged at all.

I can't really add much to what you're saying besides I think you're blowing it out of proportion. Cause we aren't going to convince the other I am afraid I can only agree to disagree at best.
>>
>>55384593
Some of us have been in this hobby for decades made. We're not here for a few games of blood bowl and then off to the next fad. We're looking at long term community changes
>>
To try and drag this back to the subject of Blood Bowl, let's talk about Slaan.

Taking the subject of Kislev Circus aside for a moment: How would you bring the Slaan, or a Slaan like team, back into Bloodbowl?

Chaos God team? (Tzeentch? Slaanesh?)
Skaven Eshin Clan (replace the Krox with the Rat Ogre, rename the Blitzers something other than that, because they just aren't etc)

Personally? I'd go for an entire team of Night Goblin Squig Hoppers and Pogo-ers.
>>
>>55384667
Makes two of us.

>>55384952
Maybe bring back the fat slann?
>>
>>55384952
Slaanesh would be agile beast men. get cheaper cheerleaders. Maybe give them demonettes who can amp gaze people.

tzeench? Doesn't have an identity beyond "I cast duh spells". No way to make them interesting. Default Chaos is basically a Tzeench team.

>Has anyone ever worked out just what it is with Tyranids and female players?
I think it's got something to do with the 'nids obvious homage to Alien, thus linking 'nids and women by way of phallic symbolism and rape fantasy.
>>
>>55385422

Best idea for Slaanesh was basically Chaos Elves. Agi4 but with mutation access. Daemonettes with Claw (MAYBE Hypnogaze, but it would amp up their cost and probably restrict them to 0-2 only) replace Pestigor/Beastmen, with some kind of Slaanesh Warrior who trades armour for speed maybe? Av8-7 in return for MA7-8? Then have some kind of basic cultist (Jesters?) with generic Lineman stats and AV7 in return for GAM basic skill access.

Have a Fiend of Slaanesh with Claws, Disturbing Prescence, Foul Appearance, No Hands, Wild Animal as the big guy.

As for Tzeentch, yeah, short of giving them an entire team of Horrors that can split apart which would be hilarious, but expensive in real world terms I've got nothing.
Flamers acting as Bombardiers? Maybe have Tzeentch warriors all have Pro? Cheaper Wizards (50k instead of 150k, this would be for LRB6 obvs)
I dunno, it's hard to get a hook on them. Maybe have a Spawn as a big guy. Maybe not even bother with a big guy at all, but give the other positionals decent all round stats?
>>
>>55385795
Slaanesh has always had a strong connection to beast men, dropping them would be a mistake. The whole fertile bull thing is just too close to them.

You could include a fiend. instead of a minotaur but I like the bull theme. Maybe even drop the warriors entirely. Beastmen become the brawlers and demonette runners.
>>
>>55385906

Honestly, it sounds like you more want a dedicated Beastman BB team. Which I wouldn't be unopposed to.

Consider the following:
Centigors in as AV8 AG3 Bull Centaurs
Normal Beastmen Blitzers
Minotaur
Ungors as goblins with horns for Linos
>>
>>55385795

Could give Tzeench a low stat runner with a limited ability to teleport/avoid block zones.
>>
>>55386231
Nah. I just think the fertile bull image works best with Slaanesh.
>>
Hey there, im a pretty new player to all this and I was wondering if there was any point to playing amazons?
I really like them in concept, an agility focused glass canon type team(+ Tall girl is best girl) but it seems like they lose any and all advantages in the late game. It seems like I'd be better off playing normal humies or something, thoughts?
>>
>>55386231

This was a Beastmen team from the 90's
>>
>>55388704

Since most leagues work at low team value, Amazons are great. For longer development Humans ARE better, but if you want a good agility team with some bash that's good at higher team value would be Dark Elves.
>>
>>55388819
