Statting her for DnD 5ebecause somebody has so that anti-DnD guys can have a cloud to yell at.

Except I am lazy so I am just going to say that probably high WIS as to have the mental faculties to not run away from pain and high CON to withstand it. CHA and STR are average, DEX is as low as it gets and INT is debatable to even exist.
>>
>>62415412
Does it actually make her stronger? Does it matter when she can't hit for shit?

Berserker type classes then could work (Battle trance or Bloody berserker from Strike! for example).

Fixed.

>>62415459
I think average intelligence would be fine, though. Comparing her to other characters in the series, that's it.
>>
>>62415468
In D&D she's unstattable as she's technically strong but can't hit for shit, which breaks Strength as the To-Hit-With-Melee-Weapons mechanic.

She's just all Constitution, just a giant ball of Constitution with big constitution tits flopping off it.

>>
>>62415513

This. Konosuba has no illusions about the fact that its characters are terrible people. The comedy comes from their interactions. The plot is almost nonexistent, and is mainly an excuse for these four to still be in contact with each other.

Konosuba can basically be summed up as 'generic isekai protagonist gets sent to fantasy world to kill the demon king, refuses to leave the starting town because its safer there. Does low level adventures for drinking money by teaming up with a couple of other weirdos that no one else wants to deal with.'

Darkness herself is actually, weirdly, the most nuanced character of the bunch. Here you have this high-brow noble lady from a prestigious family who goes into the honorable profession of a lady crusader to hep the people of the realm. She actually takes her job really seriously when other people are in danger, and is perfectly willing to put herself in harms way to save others,
Unfortunately, it turns out that she is a HUGE masochist into pain and degradation. And when there isn't a situation that requires her to put on her serious face, she sort of lets her fantasies run wild to the point that more than one enemy has actually retreated from a fight because Darkness just made this way too weird for them.
One of the best sequences in the show involves her getting demonically possessed, and the demon quickly realizes that their whole plan is fucked sideways because Darkness is so singleminded in her weird obsessions that they keep losing control over her, she actually has more than enough willpower to resist the possession entirely. But they can't leave her and possess someone else because Darkness is so into the idea of being demonically possessed and forced to do stuff 'against her will' that she is actually keeping him from leaving.

Aka: Demon accidentally enters Darkness's magical realm and is unable to claw his way back out.

3.5e Tome of Battle crusaders. They literally get stronger the more you harm them.

Also darkness is strong and cute and she has a nice body and I want to feel her silky smooth, clean and soft armpit pussy.
>>
>>62417587
>>62417686

So, her left is a rerebrace, a little on the small side since it doesnt actually go to the elbow.

Her right is a stylized pauldron of some kind. A little too ornate for my tastes, but considering magic gear is a thing its hard to rely purely on looks for actual defense value.

IIRC, Darkness's armor is actually some kind of adamantine-esq dense supermetal of the setting. Though Im pretty sure she just naturally has enough defense skills that she could tank most stuff naked.

If anyone would put their points into making sure that they can take a lot of punishment naked, its Darkness. Thats not even, like, innuendo or something. Thats just who she is.
>>

>>
>>62415412
look at this fuckin secondary, her stats and skills have nothing to do with her being a huge pervert
>>
>>62415422
It's a parody of the usual "some nobody gets whisked away to a fantasy world, gathers a harem of cute girls who fight for his affection, and becomes a great hero" isekai plot, only in this case the nobody's a pervy teenager with no hidden power or much going for him aside from above average intelligence and a high luck stat, and the girls in the harem aren't actually interested in him, constantly give him shit, and are all varying degrees of "not especially competent."
>>
>>62418592

Not just that, but Kazuma for his part breaks from the mold of the harem lead. Most harem leads are dense as lead about any romantic advance, Kazuma is as you said a huge pervert. However, despite his perversion, he isn't actually interested in any of the main girls.

Aqua is literally too stupid for him to consider in a romantic light even if her body is nice, he compares her to an animal.

Megumin is chunni, which might not be a deal breaker, but also way too young for Kazuma and in his own words even he has standards.

And Darkness is like his idea woman physically, but her kinks are just so over the line for him that while he might fantasize about her the reality of actually doing anything with her is just a terrible idea and he knows it.
>>
>>62418592
>are all varying degrees of "not especially competent."
they're all pretty powerful, they just have something that renders it pointless
>Aqua is probably one of the strongest divine caster in the show so far, but she's an idiot so she's still useless

I also think she and Kazuma would be sweet together.

The whole fight thing to get out of the arranged marriage showed how perfect they were for each other.

And of course that marriage was great, because of her hating the fiancé for being a nice guy, and not the sort of person to mistreat or degrade her.

Let's not forget that when Kazuma ordered a succ wet dream, he wasn't even surprised when Darkness showed up. Other than being fucked in the head, she's Kazuma's ideal woman.
>>
>>62418905

I honestly think that the original plan was for Darkness to grow into the primary love interest role for Kazuma over time, a subversion having the last girl introduced be the romantic lead rather than the first one. She and Kazuma have a lot more meaningful personal interactions early on than the other characters, and at different times Kazuma admits that Darkness is almost his ideal girl and Darkness claims that a trashy person like Kazuma is just what she wants in a husband. And that whole fake marriage thing.

Of course, over time, Megumin gets moved into the main girl role as a result of character popularity.

>a glass cannon warrior who insists on wielding a high-density superpowered hammer rather than something practical; at one point, she launches an immortal and indestructible foe into space.

>>
>>62424617
>12 STR
The big problem with stating Lalatina in D&D is that her melee attacks actually do a ton of damage, she just can't hit anything. So she should have really high Str, just a ton of penalties to her attack rolls. Somehow.
>>
>>62424860
I tried experimenting with a one-shot session where attack rolls were always determined by DEX, and damage rolls were always determined by STR. That way it would give a reason for players to build up both stats instead of focusing entirely on one or the other. It didn't work nearly as well as I had hoped, but I think it could still work with some refinements.
>>
>>62425030
>That way it would give a reason for players to build up both stats
It would also make martials pretty much useless.
Str>Con>Dex
Can do damage and survive okay, but can't actually hit anything
Dex>Con>Str
Can hit stuff but can't do much damage
Dex>Str>Con or Str>Dex>Con
You can hit and do damage but you won't have as many hit points

For 5e GWM would make sense (-5 to hit roll +10 damage), but IIRC her sword is one-handed, in which case I would just homebrew the feat to include one-handed weapons. Give her 20 strength and her attack rolls will be +0 (ignoring proficiency because not sure of her level equivalent) while each hit would do 1d8+15 damage.
>>
>>62424860
Does 5e have anything like the old power attack, which let you boost damage at a reduced chance to hit?
>>
>>62415310
>I'm serious this time guys!!
>No system
>>
>>62415310
Lalatina is actually pretty OP, she's just heavily autistic. When she was mind-controlled by an actually competent demon she was slicing through fucking boulders with her sword and throwing around trained adventurers like toys. She almost broke a man's arms just by squeezing too hard, granted he's a dyel twink but you get the idea. Darkness would be nothing to fuck with if she wasn't so goddamn retarded.
>>
>>62425165
the feat Great Weapon Master allows you to take a -5 penalty to hit in exchange for a +10 bonus to dame with heavy or two-handed weapons, among other things.
>>
>>62424860

Maybe she has the equivalent of an ability that says she is ALWAYS fighting defensively, and cant turn it off? Seems like a Darkness thing to do, -4 attack for a permanent +2 AC.

Combo that with some feats to buff fighting defensively, and you end up with "I cant hit shit, but nothing can hurt me either"

Oh I forgot the most important part.

>Masochistic loli absurdly high constitution wizard Megumin.
>>
>>62431013
>>62431036

While obviously not Megumin, the idea of a caster being actually kind of an awful caster because they keep investing in self-defense buffs instead of spells would be kind of a funny character concept.

"Wizard, we need a fireball to clear out these orcs."

"I can't do that."

"Well, what can you do?"

*Wizard casts Ironskin on himself, followed by Supreme Mage Armor*

"How the fuck does that help, wizard?"

"What are you talking about? Im totally safe right now."

"...fuck you, wizard."
>>
>>62432471
>gets fastball special'd into the middle of the crowd with a ton of TNT tied to him
>>
>>62432487

I mean, if the wizard is still built like Megumin you can basically just carry her around and use her as a yelling, flailing shield.

Dragon breath attack? Hide behind the little girl.
>>
>>62425379
Ah, so she'd definitely have that.

That way she wouldn't even necessarily have a high strength, and if she's a barbarian (zealot?) then she's also got rage for when she's really turned on.

That way she can do a lot of damage, but usually won't be able hit things.
>>
>>62432540

Imagine the possibilities of the Iron MagiLoli.

>as mentioned, use her as a flailing, shouting shield against incoming attacks, because practically anything that hits her just bounces right off
>Need a distraction? Toss her at the town guards/whoever's chasing you while you escape, because it's a safe bet everything will be fine
>go to get her from whatever dungeon she's in a week later, only to find the torturer hung himself in despair after being unable to hurt her in any fashion
>use her as a battering ram because her skull is indestructible - she doesn't need a knock on the head reducing her INT.
>Just toss her into the lake to explore for secret entrances to the castle or whatever you're trying to infiltrate - of course she has water breathing, she's got like 4 STR, she can't friggin' swim, what if something happened?!
>all her points are in CON, because she's actually terrible at magic except for self-buffing her defenses like this
>zero actual pain tolerance due to being Fucking Invincible, so even a mosquito bite against unshielded skin reduces her to rolling on the floor hollering and pitching a fit
>>
>>62415459

D&D 3.5 Crusader Class focused on the Devoted Spirit and White Raven disciplines.

Ask for DM permission to trade out one feat for a permanent effect of the Masochism spell from the Book of Vile Darkness (hah). This grants +1 to most d20 checks in the round after you take damage, scaling at +1 per 10 points of damage.

Crusader also gets a mechanic known as Steely Resolve, allowing them to delay the effect of a certain amount of damage in a round, granting a +1 bonus to attacks and damage in the round after they sink the damage. It starts out delaying 5 points and granting +1 at first level and caps out at 30 points of damage for +6 at Twentieth level.

Overall result, if Darkness hits 20th level and gets smacked with a Harm spell (150 Damage, fort-save for half) she could potentially get +6 from Steely Resolve and +12 from masochism to come out to +18 to fuckup whoever or whatever hit her, assuming she failed her saving throw for half. Alternatively, +6 from Steely Resolve and +7 from Masochism if she makes it.

In addition, the Devoted Spirit discipline of Martial Maneuvers (Weeaboo fightan techniques) is the paladin-ish one that lets you heal and protect your allies (which Darkness was devoted to in principle), while White Raven is usually about trying to charge in, leading the attack, and helping your allies to achieve victory rather than getting the killing blow yourself. You Can use Devoted Spirit to heal yourself as well, turning you into a damage-cycling constitution tank that sinks damage for your allies and draws enemy fire at every opportunity.

After that, nab the bodyguard feats that also help you jump into the path of danger for your allies.

We should come up with an individually crap but together strong set of overspecialists in the vein of Konosuba. No more than 5 people tops, its an adventuring party not a whole goddamn guild.

I think unbreakable witch girl is a shoe-in, considering. The tank that really isn't supposed to be the tank.

Alchemist works as well, and can fill in as the healer role. Cutting edge powerful potions and poisons, but with unreliable side effects and occasional surprises in your coffee.

I feel like we can do something better than the thief, who will just come off as variant darkness, and we need some kind of actual fighter because witch girl is pure defense and alchemist is more utility and heals.

The thief is supposed to be relatively competent, but often gets herself in trouble, and occasionally drags the party down with her. She doesn't play the role of a tank but a beater in combat. The problem with her fighting skills is that she is overly aggressive and reckless due to her addiction to adrenaline. Outside of battle she is used to infiltrate and unlock places, as well as deal with traps and hazards. Some of her methods of disarming traps is to simply let herself get caught in them and escape.

in-universe, Aqua is stated as having "below average intelligence" and is clearly the dumbest member of the party so my guess is Darkness is average
>>

In Konosuba world stats go from 1-100.
Aqua has an especially extreme Int of 2.

Darkness isn't just average, she's somewhat above. She's been highly educated as part of her noble upbringing and there's a couple of scenes where it shows. It would come up more often if she wasn't constantly daydreaming and fantasizing.

I could see that working. Like a ranger who just has 'magical beast' as their favored enemy taken a bajillion times.

If you leave the actual favored enemy a vague term, like magical beast, you open room for comedy as to the particulars of what constitutes a magical beast.

Human? Obviously not a magical beast.

Giant bug? Sadly not a magical beast

Dragon? Okay thats technically not a magical beast sorry guys.

Owlbear? FUCK YEAH THATS A MAGICAL BEAST

Normal bear? Help please someone help

Kaiju? FUCK YEAH THATS A MAGICAL BEAST

And so on.

Huh. It's genuinely hard to make Darkness in D&D, due to the way hitting works. She canonically has insane STR and CON but abysmal DEX, which is why she can't hit anything. But D&D is retarded and makes STR the "hit stuff" stat for most weapons, including the ones she uses.

Yes, I'm aware she's her setting's equivalent of a paladin, but she can't cast spells or invoke divinity, so she counts as a fighter here. In order for this build to work the player must use Great Weapon Master whenever able, making it extremely unlikely that she'll hit anything but the slowest of enemies. They must also make lewd noises whenever the DM rolls damage against them.

Trap-obsessed thief.

They are actually something of a mechanical genius, able to not just detect traps but determine how even the most complex trap functions. They can even build their own. They have more than enough skill to dismantle one.

However, they can't bring themselves to break a 'truly spectacular' trap mechanism. Their respect for the craftsmanship is just too high.

You can probably extend this to them having an incredible knowledge and respect for dungeon design in general, making him useful even outside of trap centric situations.

He might be party leader, it would explain why they keep taking dungeon missions.

Martial Power [Combat]

You are able to instinctively call upon reserves of untapped power within yourself to defend yourself.

Prerequisites: Constitution 13, knowledge of at least one maneuver or stance.

Benefit: You can choose to take a –1 penalty on attack rolls and combat maneuver checks to gain 2 temporary hit points. This bonus is increased by half (50%) when you are using a shield of any kind. When your base attack bonus reaches +3 and every +2 thereafter, the penalty increases by –1 and the temporary hit point bonus increases by 2. You can only choose to use this feat when you declare that you are making an attack or a full-attack action with a melee weapon, or when you are initiating a maneuver. The penalty to attack rolls and temporary hit points gained from use of this feat last until the start of your next turn.

Special: Martial Power can be used in place of Combat Expertise to qualify for a feat, prestige class, or other special ability. You can take both this feat and Combat Expertise.

Darkness has an absurd strength score and is practically unbeatable in unarmed combat (i.e. the only way to beat her, at all, is to make her want to lose because she'll get to enjoy whatever happens next. If she wants to win, she is going to win, full stop).

She can't hit anything with her sword because she traded in all her weapon proficiencies for even more toughness/defenses/resistances.

She keeps using her sword regardless because it's part of the Crusader image, and she thinks people finding out she can wrestle giants and whatnot into submission with her bare hands would make people think she's too masculine.

This is canon and spelled out in the novels eventually.

I mean, she just has a "masochism" flaw that makes her a bit more resilient to pain and suffering, but makes her actively seek it out. Alternatively make it a benefit and have it give her boosts based on how much it hurt. I run a game that has literal torture demons that get bonuses whenever they inflict AND receive damage, so it's not that hard to stat something like that.

>>

Both of the big books of alignment have some things to be salvaged from everything else in there.

The question is what and why. I know a few things to save for humor purposes, but not too much else.
>>
>>62468475
In Vile Darkness there's a neat prestige class for fighters that expands the shit out of your crit range and gives some rust powers, as well as a shape shifting prestige class that I sort of like. Both of those I wouldn't use with the fluff as is since they require demon worshiping in a pretty childish sense.
As for exalted deeds... the parts I like aren't really mechanically sound. Vow of poverty is pretty useless or OP depending on your class (pretty much only good for druids). Some of the alternative animal companion/mount/familiar stuff might be good. I guess the non-lethal feats are okay, but I really dislike that they even have to be feats in the first place. There's an interesting template in there for "saints" or something like that which could potentially salvage a character with a shitty class. That's all I can think of off the top of my head as I haven't read any 3.5 books since 5e was a thing.

How would you konosubafy a Bard?
>>
>>62482009

The bard is literally Tomako. She wanted to be a bard because she thought it would make her popular and charming and have people hanging on her every word. Now she has music powers and the ability to manipulate people with charm magic, but she is just as awkward and self conscious as before so she never never get through a full sentence or blurts out something terrible.

Playing music to buff people? Everyone would be looking at you. What if your music sucks?

Yes, you can Charm that cute boy into being your friend with just a few words, but the first step of that is walking up to a cute boy and talking so thats a plan that crashes and burns pretty much immediately.

While awful at being a team player Bard, she is unintentionally an incredible debuffer. She is so awkward at being a Bard that if she tries to use her magic on someone she can make them feel as depressed and hopeless as she is, which is a hell of a thing to drop on someone in the middle of a fight.

I just realized that the "succubus paladin" archetype would work well in Konosuba. Unlike in most settings, succubi in Konosuba aren't universally feared and/or hated, and they actually provide their own unique brand of services to the men of the starting town (a sort of custom wet-dream service). The only people who actually care about killing them are the extreme zealots like Aqua.
>>
>>62484361

The succubi are still demons, though, and there is an ongoing war with the demon king and his servants. And even by their own admission, the succubi CAN and used to drain people to death. Its just the ones that work for that brothel that do the sustainable farming for sexy dreams thing.

So mistrust of, and persecution of, succubi by others is more or less a reasonable thing to still be going on. That said, I suspect a succubi of all things can hide its demonic appearance if it wants to.

The real question is what would drive a succubus to become a paladin in the first place. Even as a paladin, they still have to drain other people for energy. Its how they eat.
>>
>>62484361
Aqua's religion would accept them. Like as much as Aqua loves killing the undead and demonic, her religion is the one religion that accepts all degenerates. They might hate them, but they'll take em. Aqua is gungho in destruction of undead and demonic, but she can make friends with them. Unlike Eris.

I kinda got the impression that the only ones who really give a shit about the demon war are the gods and some of the demon generals. Hell, the main town in the series has one of the demon generals openly selling magic items to everyone, and hardly anyone bats an eye.

>Even as a paladin, they still have to drain other people for energy. Its how they eat.

That's not a problem in Konosuba-verse, succubus can partially drain folks and only leave them with morning grogginess (that's how their business works). And since they're a paladin, they can use Restoration if they have to take a larger drink.

Perfect.

>Huge battle, Bardako finally works up the courage to play a Resolve song in front of a crowd.
>It's literally epic level, like she's applying a flat -4 to enemy rolls and +4 to allies'.
>Battle becomes super one sided

>ONE random mob enemy near Bardako, like fodder goblin #328, miracle saves.
>Is extremely confused about the thousands inspired/demoralized around him
>"The hell guys, this music ain't that good".
>Bardako overhears, drops her instrument and runs absolutely sobbing to her tent.

not only do they get together, it is now a running gag that something happens everytime they want to be "alone".

Sure, just saying that they still have to do it. Even if its not a big bite, they still have to live off of people to some degree by nature of what they are.

What's the most unusual instrument that a bard could have?
I'm thinking musical triangle.

Someone get's isekai'd, but rather than risk their life fighting demons or whatever they just decide to get by performing random covers of songs they remember from earth and passing them off as their own creation to the new world. Probably relies only on debilitation and illusion spells to get out of dangerous situations and rarely fights anything

>Druid who is obsessed with transforming into animals to the extent that his party members suspects that he might have a fetish that he's not telling anyone about. He also knows every bit of information about all animals, and can even engage in riveting conversations with them
>he's also completely absent-minded and devoid of common sense. This, combined with his general naivety and insensitivity, means that he generally ends up insulting animals by accident and driving them into a murderous rage directed at the party

There was a bard in the Dragon comic Zogonia who used a gong.
As she pointed out, although it wasn't stealthy, no lute is going to offer 3/4 cover.

Log Horizon had a character who did that, due to the world they were trapped in only having the game's sound track for songs. (In fact their term for music translated as 42, the number of songs in the world.)
