Thread archived.
You cannot reply anymore.

It's Da Curated Archive™!
Get ready to stuff your hard drive like a cosplay hooker at a con!

STEP 0:
Please exhibit good manners. Threads start sliding off the board after a certain number of posts. More posts wasted on being rude means fewer posts available for sharing.

STEP 1:
Go to the last thread if you haven't looked at it. >>62370993 There is lots of stuff, including filled requests posted directly to the board.
Files posted directly to 4chan are not added to Da Archive, so go grab them now.
More archived threads can be found here: http://archive.4plebs.org/tg/search/subject/PDF%20share/

STEP 2:
Grab your documents. Da Curated Archive, Da Archive, and Da Archive Annex comprise the collected efforts of countless contributing anons and are attatched to the first three posts.

STEP 3:
Get comfortable and browse through the blasted things! Use CTRL+F to search for a keyword. If you're too specific, it may not register. The first several pages of Da Archive list massive personal collections. These are also useful, and if you decide to ignore them, you'll be missing 7,654 PDFs. Spelunking is often half the fun!

Remember, we are better than all of the rest of the horrible internet and good manners ALWAYS gets more results. Wise up, or please go elsewhere.

Extra Special Thanks to the Anon Brigade who do ALL of the digging, loading, and posting.
>>
Please ONLY POST OPEN SOURCE PDFS DIRECTLY IN THIS THREAD. Link the others from elsewhere. Excessive infractions could cause TPTB to remove the ability to post any pdfs at all. Check for copyrights before you post anything directly.

Please be patient with the Irrepressible Urchins™ who request without looking first. They are always a regular feature here. They help bump the thread, and they want to look at something that's not porn. They might even read it. You don't have to answer them, although that also bumps the thread. I understand your frustration (they used to drive me crazy), but you don't kick a puppy for not being housebroken. If they upset you, punch a teddy bear or something.

Please give as much information as you can when you make a request. The more information you give (cover, a link to product, name of designer/writer/publisher) the more chances someone might recognize it and upload it.

Please post dead links and I will remove them to keep the archives up to date. Be specific - include a page number. There are dozens of copies of some PDFs.

Please be respectful and don't belittle others' requests because you dislike the game. Imagine the horrific RPGs I've run across; 'Dragon Dildo Warriors', ‘Cheeto Fingered Gods of Angst’, and 'We're All Little Girls (Frilly Dresses Are Mandatory At the Table)' spring to mind.

If you have a fancy pdf that has unwanted clutter on it, you can leave it with one of our resident Transmutation Wizards for cleaning here:
$nip<d0t>li /donate
$nip<d0t>li /nergal-cleaners
cityofcarse<at>gmail
Please don't drop the same file in more than one location.

CityofCarse is responsible for many recent scans from private collections. If you have a rare or obscure book, he may be willing to convert your dead tree into digital bits. His contact info is listed above.

Why 1337 5p34k?
A Paraphrased Message from TheWiz!:
To guard against rapid takedowns by bots, we suggest encoding links thusly:

M3G4<dot>EnZee
/#F!UvhUBQJA!GZqCZtCEGiGpJAGm8QVxWw

The above link is easy to decode but does not show up as a working link to the lurking T-888's. Obfuscation becomes most important when filling requests. Posting a full link right out of a large Trove/Collection risks the whole thing. Just post a page reference for Da Archive or Da Annex, with a short instruction and let the document do the job of guarding the links.

|-|0\/\/ †0 1337 5|O34|<?
NonAnon says:
I only do 1 to 3 letters - usually A (@), S ($) and E (3), along with "." as <dot>. It's not that hard to figure out.

Where to upload?
$end$p@ce for small fills, and m3g4 for large collections are the most frequent choices. U$er$cl0ud, m3di@fir3, and z!ppy$h@re are also common. Protonmail is a free and easy disposable anon email.

If you're interested in joining the tirelessly dedicated team of trove maintainers, sites like m3g4, pcl0ud, @ll$ync, y@nd3x, and even m3di@fir3 can be used. Pick one that works for you, and start uploading! Using a URL shortner like $nipli<dot>com to create a custom link is a neat way of making your collection easy to remember and visit again (note that it's safe practice to share a mirror of a private backup). Overall it's pretty simple. And chicks dig pirates.

$nip<d0t>li, s00<d0t>gd, and h1v3<d0t>@m links are cAsE sEnSeTiVe.

v0l@file<d0t>org/r/ works great, but files expire in 48 hours. Get 'em while they're hot! A list of v0l@s can be found in the file attached to this post.

Some games draw more attention than others and will not be added to Da Archive. A handful of the most prolific examples are:

Anything by:
Lame Mage Productions (Microscope/Explorer, Kingdom, Follow)
Daniel Fox (Zweihander)
Heart of the Deernicorn (Fall of Magic)
Dan Coleman (Ebonclad)
BrightShield (Izzy's Slightly Used Airships)
Precis Intermedia/P!G

Ten Candles
A Sundered World (or Dungeons and Delvers primer)

This is not an exhaustive list of titles often deemed "no share." If something you request is indicated (hopefully politely) as being too hot to handle, you'll probably find it faster looking elsewhere.

Still can't find what you're looking for? Anything might be available on IRC. Try it out!

server: irc.dejatoons.net
channel: #rpg-books
"@find GameYou'reLookingForGoesHere" should net you plenty of DCC responses to sift through.

Just do the text. If you use mIRC, you're going to have to go into your options and turn off the option that denies a whole bunch of file formats, as well as the check box that turns them on again after a couple of minutes (genius design there). HexChat is sometimes recommended above mIRC for this reason, and IceChat 9 has been touted as another easy alternative.

Example of finding things on IRC:

Awesome, thanks a lot! You're great!
It took 16 years and a whole city to get a play- and good readable copy. :D

I did a rescan of some of the LOR box-contents to get a better quality copy of them:

- the "Adventure Map" (4 segmented US Letter pages (no gaps) and 1 fullsize page)

- the "Playing Pieces" (highres scan)

- the "Middle-earth PBM sheet" (just for completion)

Added the "MERP ICE#2008 Campaign Map of NW Middle-earth" (in 150 and 300 dpi resolution) on top, which also was part of the box-content and deposited all at the "Cavern of Carse" at vola (/r/nqacax5m).

For anyone who hoards/troves Ars Magica, I upgraded 4 old scans in the Atlas Games trove with the "digital editions" on warehouse23 from Atlas.

Lion of the North
Return of the Stormrider
Ultima Thule - Mythic Scandinavia
Triamore

(I also put these up on innertemple)

The first two are the biggest improvements. The other two are only marginally better but they are actually OCRed now instead of just being images and...OCD.

There's still 10 or 12 old scans that aren't the real "digital edition" from Atlas. But the quality of those is pretty good so I'm not sure if I'll bother upgrading those or not.

Unfortunately none of the Eberron/Embers of the Last War Adventurer's League stuff has been shared yet, I believe. Probably because the first adventure in the series got such a rough reception at first. That said, it looks like an effort's been made to incorporate people's corrections, and the other adventurers seem fine.

I'd be interested in the Eberron AL modules too. Links so far:

>>
>>62431106
Seconding this.
>>
>>62433046
Because then it looks transparently like "buy this for me", which is a bit gauche
>>
>>62433080
Just to shout off that is out and if someone wants to share...
>>
>>62433080
Be real, most requests are a "buy this for me", aren't they? It's how it goes.
>>
>>62431679
Not many personal photocopiers in the early 80s
>>
>>62421234

>>
>>62433127
Sure...but just from a "what is effective" perspective (I'm an anonymous coward who contributes a lot...), if someone comes across as "hey, here's a thing I heard about, it sounds nifty, does anyone have it" I'm much more likely to buy it and share it cause hey we're all one big happy sharing family here. If someone comes across as "I'm a fanatic who knows the moment new content is released but doesn't want to pay for it because (insert bullshit reasons)" then I'm much less likely to share because hey you're a cheap asshole with OCD who could totally buy that stuff if you ate one less hamburger a week.

From my experience running dozens of troves, there's actually a surprisingly very small number of people who actually buy and share things. And they basically already know what gets released (it isn't hard...rpgnow has a list every day....) For new systems, I agree, a bit of "shout out" is fine, helps me find new systems. But for existing systems? I'm just not convinced that shout outs really do anything; everyone who cares enough to buy it knows there's a new release (or will know in a few hours/days).

Anyway, that was totally off topic for requests. So here's a request.

Purgatory House sounds like a cool horror one-shot system (what's up with those blackjack rules?) and I haven't seen in shared before. Anyone have that?
>>
>>62425664
Do you have any of the other parts of the AP?
>>
>>62433535
shoutouts do help, especially if they people post links.

I've bought and donated stuff I'd never noticed before after checking out the link. I've seen others say the same too.
>>
>>62433080
well... as long as it isn't main gauche, anon
>>
>>62431038
True enough..... :-)
>>
>>62433566

You're agreeing with him there. He says it does help, but mostly for less well known stuff. But stuff like "this week's new DDAL release?" Everybody likely to buy it already knows that it's coming out, it's not helpful.
>>
>>62434168
People can ask, people will ask. Talking abut this is all moot.
>>
>>62426551
Hello,
Thank you very much for these scans.
You do have one mistake though, in your pre 4th ed Ars stuff, your ag0802 is wrong. ag0802 is 3rd edition stormrider, what you have is 2nd edition stormrider.
Sadly I don't have 3rd ed one so I can't send it to you.
>>
>>62432631
>>62432709
Plus those fonts are just an eyesore.
>>
>>62434550
This is also true.

All in all, it's a fucking trainwreck of a cover.
>>
>>62434375
Yeah. The list is based on Atlas Games's site. Which I've since discovered is wrong. Lots of things they say are for 4th are actually for 3rd ed. It is on my to-do list to go back and fix it all up. I don't know why they list it like they've done.

The main problem with this is the curve at the spine which distorts the text. This issue gets worse as the book gets thicker and the book is progressed/scanned through. Destroying a book gives a much high scan and, if OCRed, more reliable results when using a flatbed scanner.

An inexpensive frame along the lines of the one below would use plexi-glass to hold the pages flat.

I actually brought something up like this before but was attacked by fucking idiotic dank cave trolls who were too stupid to comprehend why this was a better solution to the destruction issue. Having posted this, and commented on the retarded cave trolls, I am sure they will surface again and lash out once more (lets all watch and see).

What are you talking about? I uploaded that myself and it's clean. I ripped it off of scribd, which is a bitch to download from if you don't have an account or know a website that create a link for you. I checked the archives and couldn't find it anywhere so I threw it up before deleting it because I didn't think much of the system after reading through about a third of it.

Does anybody recall what day in October that DriveThru/DM'sGuild starts their Halloween Sale?

I think it's around 20-33% many titles - often select or thematic titles to Halloween.

Hey, I am all about saving some books, anons. However, building a DIY rig costs money. And my current financial situation allows for very few extras if any. So. Unless someone would like to donate such a rig?

Again, saving books = good. No disposable income = bad.

Looking for Grain into Gold by Boardgame Enterprises. Trying to make some realistic prices and figure out currency rewards for players but can't seem to find it in any of the troves.

Carse, having problems connecting to my mail from work.

I didn’t get your reply to the reply I sent this morning.

I looked at the image you sent earlier in week with the outline of the map pieces you needed redone from me.

I brought botj olio/Gazeteer in Folio pac. In any event I zoomed on your map and saw the fold line near volcanoes and compared to both maps and found the match to be the one I rescanned.

Did you mean to tell me I in fact did not scan right map?

Or did you need something else of either map. Have both with me again today. Also, if you need me to redo the one I sent by accident as PDF, let me know.

The one I did months ago hopefully was also 600dpi. Let me know what needs rescanning.

And yet, I have photocopies of a couple of my HS papers (graduated at start of 80s) taken at the Library.

But yeah, for some reason he didn’t think of it even though it was a work of his creation (assuming C was contacting author?) or he wanted to give a “polite no” more likely.

>"Demonic raisins, I rebuke you!"
now THAT would be an impressive skill...
I wonder if you could broaden it to rebuke other produce?

Freelance authors don’t usually invest in stuff like that
The thing is most writing you only get initial sales money and rarely get reprints

Oh.

I just read to the bottom of the thread. The message you posted about mixing up maps wasn’t directed at me in your email. You were just copying it to give me the links I guess.

I can’t wait to DL your finished product when return. That said, if any of it you want redone - I have it on me at work and can redo.

I meant, I walked to the library to pay my nickels to make copies of a “cool” (it wasn’t really, but I was 16) paper to apply for an advanced English class that I wrote since after giving to my teach I might never see it again.

I meant the author, if he liked his work or knew it would be limited in print would probably want a record of his work. Of course if it was for cash and he was embarrassed or couldn’t give a turd, yeah - why bother.

But I don’t know the guy. It could simple never occurred to him or was not close to a library or any other of myriad reasons. Or he lied.

Did any of the Free RPG Day pdfs ever come out that we expected in the following month?

Specifically, I was interested in the TLG one that the title now slips my memory but I wrote it down at home.

You think this was the only thing he wrote at the time? Most writers have one or 2 copies at most of their published work sent to them - and in the 80s uk libraries were very hot in copyright so they wouldn’t let someone pop along and photocopy a whole book and maps etc
>>
>>62451556

Seeing as there's no copyright on it, people tend to just post it directly rather than putting it up on an archive site.
>>
