I really hope so. That's solid mold and I want a simple Bludgeon to fiddle with at my desk.

Do any of you buy KO figures? I'm seeing some "high quality" versions on Ebay but pictures may be deceiving.
>>
>>6285829
KOs of which figure specifically? TF KOs really have this stunning wide spectrum, from "almost legit quality" to "absolute dogshit," so it really depends on which you're buying. A lot of us bought the MP cars because the KOs were particularly high-quality for example.

I have a KBB MP-10V. Only issue I've had with it was a mismolded bit inside his chest which scratched his bumper before I noticed it and sanded it down. But I haven't heard anyone else complain of this issue, so I assume it was just me.
>>
>>6285848
Interesting, haven't seen that one before. They replaced the hands with jointed ones, huh? Anyway, it looks okay to me, but as with most KOs, what you see isn't always what you get, and you may have to worry about plastic quality/breakages. I looked it up and this thing is like $60. For that price, I might shop around a bit...I got my legit Soundwave for just $85 used. Maybe put up an ad in the BST and try that first?
>>
>>6285848

For Soundwave, aside from the official, there is:
A. What's pictured here, a straight up KO with random improved hands.Tolerances are okay.
B. THF, which comes with all the cassettes. Had some hype going until in hand samples popped up, which suffered from ratchets everywhere that did NOT have a good range, and simplified details.
C. Robot Hero, which like the above will come with all cassettes, but might be the best KO yet. But after the disaster of THF I'd say wait for reviews.
>>
>>6285820

Yeah, I don't buy any of the RID stuff because of the fugly symbols, but I won't be able to pass him up.

Shame, because there are quite a few toys that look pretty good. Red, white, and blue jet guy, Soundwave, Blurr, Starscream...

Bootleg-Skrapnel anon here

Package arrived today, few things:
- plastic bubble was not sealed to the board, held on by single tape
- the grey-metal of his pincers is pretty dull (comparatively though, it's pretty close to CW Bombshell's pelvis grey), and the fat pins holding them on are a bit loose
- arms on Reflector are really loose
- worst thing is that on the back of Skrapnel's forearms, the purple plastic is a bit shitty-looking, it's hard to describe

Anyone had similar experience w/ the first CHUG Insecticon? Each one released between lines, was Thrilling 30 really this brutal, or is this bootleg not indicative of this fig's quality?
>>
>>6286179
I got 2 Skrapnels back then and both got their pincers loose after a couple of weeks, must be a design flaw. the insect legs are a bit gummy and one of my reflectors can't stay transformed because the pin isn't straight, you aren't missing much, hows the yellow on the chest? does it match Bombshells?

>>
>>6286616
You might be able to repaint the new Megs into him, I mean that Prime doesn't have any specific altmode part visible and the new megatron already has a similar shield, just change the head.

You can sort of repurpose submarine mode into boat mode, but you're screwed when it comes to his drill tank mode.

The best you could do is get a third party, or shape ways to replace the nose of the jet with a drill
>>
G2 megs is apparently coming with one of the upcoming box sets. It's going to be the voyager, but since hasbro was fully accurate with their G2 optimus stickers I'm eagerly awaiting the arrival of the BIG STICK.
>>
>>6286670
Where did you even get this info?
>>
>>6286645
>I mean that Prime doesn't have any specific altmode part visible
I think that's what bothers me about it. The design in the first three movies looks very much like an Optimus that turns into a truck; he's just more elaborate and alien looking. Knight Prime looks kind of generic in comparison.
>>
>>6286179
What identifies them as bootlegs? Telltale packaging details? Particularly egregious paint?
>>
>>6286673
Not him, but it seems like a reasonable assumption to make given the existence if Laser Prime.

If I were to make another assumption, it's that we still have two full sets coming, themed after the other two stats on TR collectible cards.

This makes more sense. They also have to come up with 2 more settings for the packs(probably Eukaris/Jungle Planet 2.0, and Camius).
>>
>>6286815
>intelligence
>Nautica was left out
that's pretty funny
But who would BE in the intelligence one? For autobots, I'm thinking
Skyshadow repaint to jetfire?
obviousy the other autobot clone
Maybe a proper nightbeat
and I dunno for the voyager

on the decepticon side I'm guessing
Shockwave out of Galvatron (takes a bit of retooling, but mostly making the legs turn into a handle, and the nosecone become a barrel)
I think we could pretty easily get a deluxe constructicon, hook from Hardhead or Scrapper from Kup.
the other clone, and then for leader, they're reused every mold so far, and a lot are decepticons, so it could be a wild one like reflector remolded out of soundwave/blaster, or it could be something generic like nemesis prime.
>>
>>6286832
the settings don't really seem to matter.
The "chaos on velocitron" had Optimus, who's not a speedster, Nautica, who's from Caminus, quickswitch who could fit any theme, and a clone.
I suspect that the clones are picked to fit the theme, and everything else is just gravy.
We know we have a bird and a jet clone left.
If I had to bet, they picked "velocitron" because it's easy to identify the reason for the planet (speed)
I think the next two are going to be earth and maybe junkion or quintessa.
>>
>>6286839
another thing I just thought of.
the previous 2 sets had a leader Optimus, and a voyager optimus.
I wonder if we'll get a leader megs and a voyager megs for the next 2.
Not sure how we'd get a leader, seeing that they avoid remolding if at all possible, unless they go full retard and make CW megs into a headmaster.

I could understand it if it's something that's only kind of expensive on the aftermarket like Red Alert. I mean he's overpriced but if you really want your box to say "takara" instead of "takasa" that's not the end of the world to pay ~100$ for a carbot.

Soundwave's pre-reissue prices are just nonsense though, going out of your way to get an official one is just being bad with your fucking money. If you don't want to buy a KO you should just not fucking buy one at all until you find a good deal.

Not sure how well the colors will match, but for anyone interested, this is definitely possible with a spare Titanmaster head/ball joint, if you want to try the igear head on future shitpiece. You may have to force it, and you may get a tiny crack in the socket for the ball joint, but it really shouldn't affect the head, structurally.

Even though older deluxes were bigger, their heads were generally smaller, it seems.
>>
people can shit on IDW all they want, giving Kup a cigar was the most obviously genius move ever
>>
>>6287618
If there's one thing I'm glad about the headmater gimmick coming back, is the fact that they have the make heads properly sized again. I hate pinheads on robot toys, I like good proportioned heads and having to transform them is keeping the heads nice and big.
>>
>>6287535
Nah, probably power masters. Can't transform without some stupid "key"
>>
>>6287618
I originally disliked the downsizing/simplification of modern retail TFs, but now I've come to love it. They're making some really fun toys in both modes, and the fact that the Transformations only take like, 30 seconds tops and still manage to be clever is a big plus. They might not be as impressive, but in my mind, that's what MPs are for. Although, with Megatron, they're beginning to go too far in the other direction.

I still like Generations Kup, but mostly for the alt. mode. His bot mode does indeed have a pit of a pinhead, along with some other strange proportions. And his forearm kibble sucks.

This is another thing that current Transformers do that I think is an improvement over the ones we were getting 4-8 years ago. There's a lot less shell-forming going on. Most toys ended up hiding away arms and entire torsos underneath. There were a lot more panels and kibble involved. Nowadays, it's far more likely that arms and torsos are made from integral parts of the alt. mode. While this may require some compromise here and there, I think it results in a much more satisfying toy.
>>
>>6287931
Yeah, my biggest concern nowadays in buying a TF besides looking at the articulation in regards to whatever weapon of fighting style the character has is the paint decor, or waiting for a price drop if the character doesn't sell much to the kids or they overstocked.

It's alsmot certain (at least in the US) that every leader short of the last wave will take a serious dive in discount. Soundwave was under $30 last month and will likely reach that again. I see Black Shadow diving when Overlord hops out. Then again, the films might mess with the system we have had the last 3 years.

I got a CW Armada Megatron the other day from clearance. I was slightly surprised when I learned when it came out; he had been shelfwarming for a long time I guess. Shelfwarmers: Robots No One Buys.

Pretty cool figure, though. In some ways I like it over the G1 version. It's interesting what doesn't sell sometimes.

I'm not surprised it sold significantly less than G1. I'm surprised, after the rest were all bought, it stuck around for as long as it did.

Guess I'm the weirdo then, but I hated this era with a passion. I even liked it better when the robots were drawn based on their toy forms, rather than the animation. It was typically at the start of the series.

The really human-like look was really only pushed by one guy, Andrew Wildman. I grew up with Beast Wars so I missed out on the Marvel comics initially, but the Marvel team from late G1 did a few BW comics for Botcon which I read online. I was initially a bit taken back by the really humanlike look, but now I find it intriguing. Its not my preferred look, but I like how "2000 AD" it feels. Like, I could see these Transformers in a Judge Dredd comic.

Well, shit there goes my plans to sell these at 300% profit later on, thanks for the info.

There are far more serve marks on other sides of the boxes, right now in my country shelves are clogged with starscreams and skywarps, thundercracker who NEVER got an official release here is supposedly quite desirable now as a result (ended up buying him from a different seller, had to use ebay codes to knock him down to the same price as the other 3).

Well, into the seeker pile they go
>>

Well if the toys are in fine condition you could still get a hefty amount for "100% new in perfect condition, box damaged but never opened" on a rare toy assuming the toy is fine.

There's people who just want to buy new toys and people who want to display boxes, you could appease the former with that thundercracker definitely.

I've used them before I found other websites. Customs will fucking destroy your wallet-pussy the moment a shipment exceeds 100cad.

Try ages 3 and up instead, I think they still have megs either in stock or a new shipment coming soon.

Yeah, but I'm getting pretty tired of it. I'd quit but I like my alliance.

I think that issue affects the takara version too, although I've had mine for several months and it hasn't broken yet so I'm not sure

Anon who bought the LG Blaster for 55 on Ebay a while back. The Auction included LG Blaster, LG Rewind with Nightbeat, and Triggerhappy, but not only did he send all this, he also included TR Stripes and CW Shockwave.

Both those toys were in the pictures, but weren't mentioned in the auction, still nice he included them even if I'll probably give them away.

I own 4 of him, 2 normal one's, 2 Action Master one's. I really don't need a fifth.

Is it illegal to dislike CW Shockwave?
I don't really care G1 Shockwave's design though I like the character and I would get the Reflector set if it wasn't that I despise clear plastic with a passion.

No, it's not illegal to dislike anything, man. It's just a toy. Some are nearly universally liked though, like T30 Springer or CW Shockwave.

Nah, you're free to like what you want. Though, the action master colored CW Shockwave uses no clear parts, just so you know.

So I'm guessing you have never gone to TFcon then huh? They are always there every year and they do have a YouTube channel even though I find that Ragin Nation guy there to be annoying.

it's a modded MP Bluestreak to look like a delorean. A dude on ebay makes them and sells them now and then.

Sandstorm has better alt modes but Springer has a better bot mode.

Figures.
>>
>>6289249
I've had my Hasbro version ever since it came out and it's still fine.

Transformed him maybe 10 times total. Thought I'd have way more fun with him, but his wolf mode is really a case of "great articulation, shit posaibility". His paws are huge disappointments in how much they can really move, and his leg armor serves no function other than getting in the way. Not to mention the wolf head that's on a ball joint but it might as well have been a swivel.
>>
>>6288375
I liked both type of art, really. Only real problem with the later art was that they lacked the detail that made them look more distinctively robotic, but that's probably because half of that artists run had them fighting Unicron and its aftermath - so it's more like all the extra detail had been punched off of them (Fort Max fighting Galvatron has this done pretty much panel to panel). Still, you are right, they did look a bit too much like armoured humans.

As much as there was a problem with the art, the writing was 10x shittier, looking back on it now.

I was thinking it would work pretty easily with just new windshield, redone arms, and the sled being made up of two pieces that form up twin blasters or one giant gun.

The only downside is Ratchet being suck with a giant gun.
>>
>>6289460
You know, he has this reputation of being a grumpy old man, but I never recall Kup being that explicitly grouchy, except towards Hot Rod in the movie.

Downside? big guns are an important preventative measure against battlefield injuries.

(also fuck, my Ratchet's right elbow has become loose, it can barely hold his chrome gun. I'll need to figure out a way to tighten it at some point)

Is Robots In Disguise pretty much done as far as new figures/molds go? I heard this year may be the last, but it seems like they never really pushed hard/had any consistency with the Warrior scale toyline.
Which sucks, that show had some cool designs/bots that could've made for fun toys.
>>
>>6289692

It'd honestly be for the better if RiD ended and they put the money being mostly wasted on it, into the Generations line. Of course, even if it does end, that probably won't happen. Hasbro will pocket it.
>>
>>6289691
Maybe in some box set, alongside Ironkup and Kupchet
>>
>>6289723
I honestly found myself enjoying the toyline for the unique/obscure characters, especially the Cons. Thunderhoof, Fracture, Bisk, Scorponok, Parlon, Quillfire, if it weren't for the dumbfuck sticker those all could have been really great(I still enjoy those toys regardless though).
I do agree the toys could be better, but I'm just a bit sick of rehashes of the same characters over and over. I can only hope the next show or toyline continues the trend of more obscure or original Decepticons.

Also holding out hope that the Bludgeon is released relatively soon and isn't shitcanned by retailers in favor of the movie merchandise.
>>
>>6289786
The cons were the reason to buy anything from RiD, they were just better.

They got some pretty creative monster bot modes that worked well with the style, compared to the drab and boring cars.

Hardhead would make a really good deluxe tank Megatron with a little remolding. Give him a new, Megatron-looking chest, a little changed details here and there, a fusion cannon instead of a rifle and a hole on the right arm to peg that fusion canon into. It'd be pretty good.

I have not played but it looks like it's one of those castle building games.

If it is I can understand why it's getting old, I did Age of Empired for a while and eventually everything was an overpriced 24 hour upgrade. There wasn't even a remotely affordable path to pay to play either since $5 basically finished one building.

This week was the Beijing International Film Festival and Paramount Pictures was present at the event, they showed to us an China exclusive trailer,it was like 2:26 minutes long. Now I will describe the all new footage:

The trailer opens with Optimus landing on what it looks like to be Cybertron then we have the Paramount logo, the next shot is narrated by Anthony Hopkins:"It started as a legend, one of the greatest of all" and we see silver knight Optimus Prime and old movie version Megatron ,Optimus has a sword and a shield(the shield looks more like human shield) with the Decepticon logo in "V" and Megatron has a sword and an Decepticon flag, the logo is in "V",they look at each other, then we move on and we see a lot of cybertronian knights, the background looks like Cybertron with green?
Pretty weird, then we get some sort of ship floating in space,it has in his interior the allspark that looks very different,we get some shots of the WW2 and there are transformers too, more knight shots,we see a lot of ships going to Earth, the planet thing that looks like it's uniting? Transforming?
Weget a glimpse of what looks like to be The Fallen,we see Barricade at the Junkyard with other Decepticons,an shot of Hot Rod where he saves Vivian and the trailer ends with Optimus vs Megatron scene from the last trailer but longer.
It was cool,it might be the best one yet.Feel free to ask me any questions.

It would be better to do a full-on G2 homage with a tank-front chest that folds down for tank mode with a new hinge. Unfortunately he'd be too small to scale with anything.
