Come join us to discuss the awesome world of Mega Construx and the ordeal it is to get any news or any new stuff at stores.

Previous thread here >>6446632
>>
I don't know about you guys but i remove the front pegs on the Call of duty figures armor because they get in the way of posing.
>>
>>6468429
The figures in the first post are the Mega Construx Heroes. They should be released on September, for 4.99 each. No sets are planned right now, bit rumor has it it depends on sales.
>>
>>6468429
Holy fuck, Skeletor. Local Walmart has all the Kubros marked down to $5, but he's the only one missins from their case. Hyped to finally get my hands on a Lego-compatible bone daddy
>>
>>6468448
>No sets are planned right now, bit rumor has it it depends on sales.

>Aliens and Marines mass army buildable
>So is the Borg
>Hypetrain for MOTUfigs
>Matty/Mega Construx distribution

We're never going to see these but on YouTube review vids and no sets because these "didn't sell" despite all the money we'd throw at it.
>>
>>6468481
Don't worry anon, they'll show up on Amazon and Mexico as all thing Mega tend to do.
>>
Wait so are we still getting MOTU sets or not?
>>
>>6468510
>are we still

No one ever said we were in the first place. No one knows anything and all mega says is "none are planned", but according to people who spoke with mega at sdcc, they said " depends on mega constreux heroes sales".
>>
>>6468510
Only the two Minifigures, Skeletor and He-Man, are it at the moment.
>>
>>6468429
For now, I'd just be more than happy if the Mega Construx Heroes line continues. Maybe we could get more different franchises, continue the one's we're getting (more He-Man characters for example). Actual articulated Power Rangers, Pokemon trainers, etc, could be cool.
>>
>>6468526
>more He-Man characters for example

Horde Trooper battle pack pleeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaseee
>>
>>6468529

Imagine an assortment with that, a Snake-Men pack and a Eternian Guard pack.
>>
>>6468429
These figures are almost exactly 2 inches tall, which means they are not the same scale as CoD and Destiny, but rather the smaller scale of Halo and Ass Creed.

Significantly less enthused.
>>
>>6469122
Yup. Tiny he-man and tiny skeletor. I really hoped they would be cod scale. At least the alien seems taller and the colonial marine parts can be swapped with the cod guys.
>>
>>6469158
The Xeno probably uses something similar to the parts that the fallen captains use, just adjusted to the smaller scale
>>
>>6469122
Huh, had no idea they were smaller. I have a few Destiny figs and they're just a tiny bit smaller than the Halo ones I have. I guess it isn't a big deal to so I haven't noticed that they were meant to be scaled differently.

Here's a size comparison. Left to right:

Tmnt classics, ass cred, terminator, halo, tmnt movie, cod and destiny.

Mega Construx Heroes will be in between halo and tmnt movie in size.
>>

>>6469250

Here's another with the animated TMNT (but not the human figures sadly)
>>
>>6469250
That's not so bad. Too late to lower the size of the CoD guys, but if they were to equalize the human heights then have Destiny characters and Spartans and the like slightly larger that would work well. Either way, they're close enough that I don't mind. He-Man and other characters from that universe being a bit bigger would have been a plus though. They're certainly bigger than the average human.
>>
>>6469451
Lol, I'm the guy that took this pic>>6469250 and I took this pic>>6469451 last year. Nice to see someone saved it.

What do you mean no "human" figures? Like no human nick tmnt figures? If that's so, I only ever got leo.
>>
>>6469250
>>6469451
I wonder why there is a height discrepancy at all, especially between lines like CoD and Halo. Seems odd.
>>
>>6469262
I want to know how the tail works personalty
>>
>>6469481
I don't know, but my theory is that they didn't want to alienate old Halo fans with the new figs.

So, the old Halo figs were pretty small. They introduced CoD with better articulation and slightly larger figures. I guess the figures were larger to acommodate things like pouches and magazines and whatnot. Of course they were going to move Halo to the new articulation, but if they changed the size to CoD, most of the old sets would not be usable with the new figures ( I remember people saying they wouldn't buy any new articulated figures or sets, as it would not match the hundred of minis they already had), so they just added the articulation but kept the smaller size. The fact that tmnt, terminator, star trek and asscred are Halo sized makes me think that's the "correct" size, and cod and destiny are outliers.

Then again, maybe it's different designers and mega just doesn't give a fuck.
>>
>>6469437
holy shit, that's a nice deal.
>>
>>6469507
I think it has to do with legally competing with Lego. Like lego has modular figures that are the same across the board. and in order to not get in trouble for taking lego designs they have to have different variations in size and the way they work so it doesnt step over Lego's modular toy man design
>>
>>6469582
Then how do you explain Playmobil? I don't see mega making any publicity on mixing and matching figures, though. Also, lego has already sued Mega, but since lego is in itself a copy, the case was dismissed (I think, I don't remeber the details, only that lego sued and mega won).
>>
How would you feel if Mega acquired the Star Wars license?
>>
>>6469595
I'd be kinda disappointed

This is gonna sound stupid but even if I'm not especially into building toys anymore and am mostly into Mega for the figures, Star Wars Lego is just classic. Mega or any of the other block brands getting it instead would feel wrong.
>>
>>6469606
I'm also mostly in Mega for the figs, but even though I don't buy Legos it seems that Star Wars Legos are going down the drain. Classic early 2000s SW Legos are where it's at, but nowadays...
>>
>>6469451
Which figure (COD I'm guessing) is that next to Nick Leo?
>>
>>6469617

>How would you feel if Mega acquired the Star Wars license?
Theoretically stoked, IF they focused on "war" sets or even videogame-themed sets.

I would worry about them doing too much with the cartoonier shit - but they could theoretically do two lines like they do with Ninja Turtles, and it could work.

I would love CoD-style semi-realistic -troopers and soldiers and jedi and aliens.

How about we talk in actually possible hypotheticals, like Mega Constructs Elder Scrolls.
>>
>>6469850
This would be pretty cool. It would work well in the Mega style, and it would be fun to army build COG soldiers and the Locust. Hopefully they don't focus on the super cartoony GOW 4.

We should put a "thread challenge" in the OP like the lego gens to encourage people to post new pics of figs/sets
>>
>>6469262
You know i dont know if they are owned by the same people but whenever i see anything Aliens you never really see Predators far behind, hope they come out in the next wave?
>>
>>6469262
>xeno had the mega construx girl arm molds
>>
>>6470027
They're both Fox properties. Alien vs. Predator as a franchise basically exists because Fox licensed both franchises to Darkhorse, and some Darkhorse execs had the idea of combining them.

Predators would definitely be cool in a future wave. Going by what they've done so far it would likely be two figures, one Predator and one human. So probably the Jungle Hunter and Dutch.

Hopefully we get more Alien figures, too. I want a Ripley more than I'd say I want Colonial Marines, though I do understand making them as they can be army built.
>>
>>6470117

With the Marines, you could do a Smart Gunner, then like a female marine (torso and head change) etc.

I'd like to see them sneak in figures like April O'Neil from the Classic Party van, or the canceled Assassin's Creed Knights.

Oh and pump out every MotU they can.
>>
>>6469898
The figures look better... but there's never been any improvement. Imagine having Mega Construx clones and droids, that would be amazing.
>>

>bought up all the good, cheap sets locally
>new Destiny sets haven't shown up yet

I've got the need, the need to build.
Also, local Wal-Mart's are resetting their toys for Christmas and the planograms I looked at didn't have a spot for the Destiny sets. I'm hoping it's just these stores leaving them out.
>>
>>6470164
I have never seen walmart ever stock the destiny sets.
the only toys r us I've seen stock them was a "Supercentre" not connected to a mall or any surrounding buildings.
>>
>>6470175
All the stores around me carried them (walmart, target, tru, etc.) But they might not have sold well enough for walmart cuz a bunch of the wave 1 stuff went on clearance at all 5 around me
>>
>>6470207
Only 2 walmart carried them here (out of 7 walmarts), and they still have a bunch of stuff. None of the other stores carries them.
>>
>>6470209
I got my first wave at a Big k-mart.
Its closing now.
>Tears
>>
>>6469468

Yeah no human figures from the tmnt animated line. Oh, and thanks for the pic. I don't know if I ever said it when it was first posted.
>>
I can see them repackaging the T-800 and rebellion soldier for the Heroes line.
>>
>>6470264
Now this is something possible and that I'd love to see. I didn't get any exoskeletons, so I would get a bunch. Nice one!

>>6470254
No problem! The height question came up a lot last year. I'll do an updated one with the mega construx heroes (we need an abreviation for that, mch?) when I get them.

The last couple times I've requested parts there's been no email, before that I had a couple requests where I got an email saying they'd mailed me the part when I'd already received it by then, been years since the system worked more or less correctly in that aspect. Maybe when Mattel took over they figured rather than fix it they'll just mail the parts and not bother with emails.
>>
The more I think about it, the more I think they'll repackage older figures in the heroes line. A colored Eastman Leonardo and Shredder (or Casey Jones) would fit nicely in the line.

>Oh! I should pick up the minimates apc. They're cheap.

That's what I just did. Considering the MB minifigs are slightly smaller than the Minimates, it should work perfectly.
I just hope we get more characters and sculpts eventually like Gorman or Vasquez.

Anyone know if there's a way to get replacement pieces for an oldish set? I got the TMNT Rocksteady villain pack on clearance, and one of the ball joints on one the Foot Ninja's hip pieces is too small to pop the leg on. Tried Mega Bloks customer support it said I didnt have a valid product number or some shit.
>>
>>6477013
Sometimes you have to enter the number 3-4 times before it goes through, happened to me with my last request. I tried the number for the Rocksteady pack just now (DMW28), got the error message 3 times and it reset all the info sections but after the 3rd time it retained the info and went through on the 4th.

It's a bad parenting day as i just sent my kids off to play on their tablets for like 6 hours while my wife and i watch orphan black and i build this. >>6479037

>>
>>6479037
It really is. I'd suggest GIJoe, with Hasbro trying to bring it back, to be at a similar scale. I feel like the collectability and smaller scale vehicles would just lend itself very well to that property. Huge armies, bases, vehicles, I think it'd have some good potential. Only issue would be those who'd take offense with the size. Though the 4" ones could still continue too, for that greater deal of articulation and sculpt.
>>
I can't wait to see how the new scale Acid Rain stuff looks with the Mega stuff.
>>
>>6479082
I have hundreds of mega sets, from old halo, cod, destiny, terminator, etc. I just bought this blackout ops set and it dawned on me; this is the stuff I dreamed of as a kid. Shitloads of soldiers, past present and future, bumch of water, land and air vehicles, interchangeable parts, customizable weapons, I mean, holy shit. I am also very drunk, but I don't think that takes away from the greatness of what mega is doing.

Now, in a few weeks, we'll be able to go to the store and get compatible aliens and he man figures. With this awesome articulation, I mean, for fuck's sake, this guys have more articulation that basic star wars figures. I really feel like whoever designs this guys really does it because they like it, not just to put another toy on the shelves.

Anyway, yeah, the blackout ops, highly recommended. I hope more sets have the laser attachment in the future. It looks really good.
>>
>>6479096

The guns are great although I wish there were some 3rd party manufacturers as well.
- sort of like Brik Arms etc.
I've lost a few bits of weapons and wish there was another source.
Hell, I wish "stock over-runs" of the CoD figures were showing up on Chinese and Japanese websites. Ali-express has some stuff for army building Halo but for CoD all the decent sized figures aren't really common around me and on Amazon (.ca) the prices are batshit.
>>
>>6479082
I woudl be happy if HASBRO inclenched their greedy jew fingers and let this happen.
I've pretty much given up in Joes and gone to a lot of 3rd party stuff (which I'm completely happy with) but more small-scale stuff would be great. - too bad for the gripers who still piss and moan that Joe isn't 6 inches. - which is a useless scale for any sort of large amount of vehicles. But thry and tell those useless whiners at Piss Tank.

See, I don't see how you can do that.
I mean if this is a big part of your life - or at least a significant part, don't you want someone who shares or at least tolerates your interests?
I mean I collect comics, zombie, noir and sf movies , far too many books, rpgs, play video games and both joes, lego and mega. (and the occasional weirdness) how do you hide that?
I might be a man-child but should I hide that? Could I even hide that?
It's easier to find someone who shares at least *some* of that and tolerates the rest.
- even if their system has more RAM and a better graphics card than mine.
>>
>>6479069

Don't do that. I had girls broke up with me because of toys, so I learned the best thing is jut be straightforward right away. I like toys, I like videogames, going to cons, talk about this stuff in online forums, etc. Of course she said "yeah, I support you, blah, blah, blah", but I had to really drill down that this was not something that was ever going to change. Do it seem like you could put the armor & helmet onto a COD body, though? If so, I'll just buy the marines for the armor & guns and draft several of my COD guys into the Colonial Marines.
>>
>>6481652
September apparently, but unknown if there's a street date on these.
>>
>>6481674
The COD legs are much nicer anyway
>>
>>6481674
The Marine armor fits the CoD figure just fine. The helmet uses a peg to plug into the Marine's bald-ass head, so it won't swap on to the CoD figure I have.
>>
>>6481613
I'm Mexican, living in Mexico and 5'11. People refer to me as very tall.
>>
>>6481674
I've got a bunch of CoD figs from the first trooper packs where they still have whites in their eyes so they're bodies are definitely getting co-opted into marines.
>>
>>6481633
That marine is way too short. Damn. At least the armor is swappable and the alien looks good enough in size.
>>
>>6481748
i live in Houston myself and yeah the girls are super short.

I'm like a foot taller than my Mexican dad, too now that i think about it lol

The heroes are nice but I hope they don't steal resources other B-lines like destiny
>>
>>6481820
In any case Destiny is taking resources from the other lines, considering it's the only line to have a signature series this year.
>>
>>6481842
I wish it was produced in the level of the CoD or Halo sets, though I know it's not realistic. I'm in my feels about it, anon. Good memories of catcalling my college friends for not supporting new monaechy
>>
>>6481712
Won't his whole bald head with helmet swap onto a CoD body? If I can move over the head and armor, then everything should be a-ok
>>
So this is pretty much the most active Mega discussion on the internet, these generals?

Marine head/helmet and armor on the CoD figure. I'd say you're good to go.
>>
>>6481942
Well, there's the 2 forums, which have good info sometimes but they're mostly dead. There's also a bunch of mega groups on facebook too. The official mega construx forums is populated by autists and not even functional like us, so yeah, I'd say this is the most active mega community.
>>
>>6481963
Anon you're the best.
>>
>>6481963
Fucking nice.

>>6481969
And yeah, this general is one of main reasons I even come here. It's also one of the nicest generals on this board which is cool. I appreciate all of you guys.
>>
>>6481972
Thanks, I do try.
As an aside, I just tried the Terminator leg they used on the TMNT blind bag series 3 robot body Krang, and it works on the Marine if you want to go cybernetic enhancement/prosthesis route.
>>
>>6481942
Yep, thats why I try to contribute often. The thread has picked up as mega has gotten better over time
>>
>>6481942
Im curious the general opinion in a discord server for the thread. Makes posting and general conversation easier but its hard to balance a server and keeping the thread alive.
>>
>>6482009
Not interested imo. This thread is picking up speed and is finally a viable option for daily monitoring. Would be worse to split the posters and contributions
>>
>>6481969
As someone who tried to make a Table top game for Mega stuff and tried to have some interaction between me and everyone else i can attest to this statement.

It is in recent times, back when Mega was first starting to git gud with the Halo Wars line the threads were few and far between, It wasn't until CoD started up that threads would actually cap and move on to a new one.
>>
>>6482009
I think splintering off would kill the thread. It's picking up, but not newrly enough.

>>6482110
I have to say I started with CoD too. Never played Halo or CoD or Destiny, I'm in it for the toys, not the franchises. I do know that's not the general sentiment, though, and most mega collectors are Halo fans.
>>
>>6482110
CoD is Mega's primary line, though they don't realize it yet.

Getting Halo Mega Construx stuff in Germany is not too usual but I picked up four Foxtrot blind bags for 3€ each today. The last ones I bought are from five years ago or so, but I wanted to get some newer figures as they improved over the time. Pic related is what I got. I'll head back to the store tomorrow and grab the rest of them I think.
