So how far will the horror One:12s go?
Mezco's got the license for Hellraiser, I wonder if we'll get some cenobites. I hope they can get obscure with it and fill in the gaps that NECA leaves.

A quick rundown
He's basically the same as green arrow accessory wise, with:
Bow
Triple arrow
Grapple arrow
Normal arrow
Bomb arrow
Blunt arrow
Block of arrows
Knife (which wasn't shown in the promo pics)
10 different hands
Stand with arm
Fancy metal box

I just got Arsenal too. I don't have a green arrow to compare him to, but this guy has a few more QC issues than any other mezco I've got so far. One of his elbow joints looks all fucked up, one of his biceps has a gap, and his shoulders are so tight they want to break. He's dope looking but I hate feeling like I'm paying too much and that's how I feel with every figure in this line. Arsenal is the closest I've come to buyers remorse in this line

I don't mean to be a downer, I love these figures in just always wanting more
>>
>>6489647
I kind of feel the same, I'm pretty fucking picky about this line.

DKR Batman
Superman
Black suit Spidey
Ash are going to be, so far, my only figures.
I'm interested in a lot of character but price is a turn off.

I've been playing with 3A accessories for my Commander Rogers, just to spice him up a little since he's pretty bland. At first, I had a simple belt with pouches from a Zombot on him, along with a few grenades from Winter Bleak, but I just got in a belt from a Medic Grunt. The additional red really helps make this figure more attractive, and the canister grenades are pretty fun to fill the pouches with. Additionally, wrist pegs take 3A hands pretty well, so it's easy to give him a trigger hand if necessary.
I'll probably wash some of the weathering off of this belt and pick up a bundle of Kyuuketsuki grenades to really fill out the pouches next. I'm just hesitant to cut off his original belt, even though it's in the way of the Medic belt.
>>
Just received an email that my Black Adam per-order was canceled, what a load of shit, had it done since May.

Its probbaly the best Daredevil figure, but I prefer the recent Marvel Legends because its closer to the actual comic costume. I think its worth it but I use it more for my Mezco display than my main Marvel one.

Thanks for the Comicave feedback. Wound up going with a D&D 5e players handbook instead.

I've got two bootlegs on order now, so I'll just be content with them. Not expecting much at all here. The one solid review I found said the bodies were fine, the clothes were OK and the paint was ok, but my experience with SHF bootlegs has me expecting incomplete or sloppy paint, ill-fitting garments, and some joint issues. Supposed to both arrive next Saturday, but Harvey may have impacted that date.

>>
>>6514757

>>6517605
I plan to, yeah. Punisher is on schedule, but Cap got delayed about a week. If these work out, I may pick up Reverse Flash, but I'm going to continue avoiding BvS Batman due to how bad it looks.
>>6517621
eBay. Cap was a bid, and I'd just set myself a reminder to jump in and snipe. Came in under-budget on that one. Punisher was actually $47. Veilspark has options on the listing for either the full figure and accessories boxed ($47), the figure and accessories alone ($42, I think), and accessories or figure alone. The $19.99 price is just for the bootleg trench coat alone, which looks pretty assy.
>>
Stealth or regular flavor Deathstroke?

I've been wanting to jump in on this line and DS seems like a good one.

Also, are there any concerns about the rubber printing on some of the cloth suits? I worry about it cracking over time.
>>
>>6518752
I'm curious about this, too. The only figure with a printed suit I've got is Rogers. Cracking would seem to be likely if you wash the suit repeatedly and expose it to a mix of cold and high heat, or if you put sharp creases in it or handle it frequently. Think of it like a graphic t-shirt. Peeling would be another issue--when I look at the classic and regular Caps, they appear to have very slight peels right out of the package.

Are these glued down applications? Are they screen prints? Is it fixed on with heat?
>>
>>6518752
Personally went with Stealth since it reminded me of Teen Titans cartoon and we already have a lot of comic-inspired Deathstrokes.
>>
>>6518752
>>6518782
There is lots of problems with cracking and peeling. The only ones I don't have an issue with are stripes on deadpool and bvs batman. Any large vinyl application is going to eventually crack with stretching and bending. All the scales on my cap's shoulders are cracked and split. The markings on miles morales are definitely going to be an issue over time
>>
>>6518752
Why bother? It's never coming out. The regular has been delayed since June. Stealth version will probably be delayed till 2019 because they have six different spidermen coming out.
>>
>>6518752
all mine are still good. As for Deathstroke i have both preordered. Gonna sell whichever one i like less in hand and pretty much get my money back

Got my KO Frank in. I opted for the full package--box, guns, all in.
$45 total, shipped from China. Took 8 days to arrive.

First off: Shipping. This is as good as it gets for China packaging. The "Mezco" box was bubble wrapped and a very tight box was put over it. It got crunched a little. Given the frailty of most knockoffs, I'm glad that I went with the version that came in retail packaging.
>>
File: frank2.jpg (437 KB, 2000x1208)
437 KB
437 KB JPG
>>6520807
Retail packaging:
The difference between this and a legit Mezco product is evident. No slipcase, the box is printed on flimsy cardstock, there's no matte/gloss contrast to the finish, and there are no magnets to hold the flap down--just two pieces of velcro.
The plastic tray is really thin plastic--I could tear it easily just by putting some shear force on it if I wanted. The top tray was taped down to the bottom trays with a double-layer of shipping tape wrapped all around.
Guns are taped down with the thinnest tape possible.
The coat was stuck to the underside with two guns in a baggie.
As soon as I turned it all over, the flight stand literally flew out from its tray. The skull logo is printed on, but if looks and feels like a really thin sticker. No foot peg was included--only the flight stand and base. And the stand could be tightened up a little.

Accessories!
Look at all of this shit!
Molding: The hands look great, the heads are probably 80% authentic, and the guns are about 60% spot-on.
I'm going to have to heat and pop the hands to get the fists off of their pegs. When I tried to take them off, they came right out of his forearms.
The heads need heating and resetting, too. Only the neutral expression fits on his neck right now, since the other two are way too tight.
The magazines do not stay in any of the guns. They're going to require some work shaving down.
The muzzle flash also will not fit into any of the guns, so I'm going to use a pin vice to drill out the barrels a little.
And the little gun that I've blown up? Lots of mold flash around the barrel, and no hole for the muzzle flash piece.
But the grenade launcher is tight and nice. The grenades are a little loose, but that's fine.
His knife barely fits into his belt, and the sheath strap will not close.

Paint: Where applicable, the paint could definitely use some work. All of his heads are flush with rage--he's way too red. The hairlines are way better than I expected, with only minor touchups needed. Gun paint is pretty good where applicable--but the clips/magazines are pretty sloppy.

Frank himself:
The figure has all of the articulation I'd expect from an authentic Mezco figure. Every piece that should move does. the body is made of a rigid plastic that feels good in-hand, and I don't notice any mold problems by feeling around.
Problem spots:
The left hip on mine is scary tight and creaks when I move it. I'm going to have to strip the figure and loosen that joint a bit.
As mentioned, the alternate heads will not currently fit, and the wrist pegs came out with the pre-assembled fists.
His right boot is a little loose. The boots themselves seem to be made of a softer plastic that's almost rubbery. This is fine, but weird.

As for the coat: Awful. It's such thin fabric that when I put it on and moved his arms up, it ripped. Not even at the seam! This was a gentle maneuver, too. No pushing or abnormal force used. When he's got it on, he kind of looks like a shitty teenager from the 90's.

Final thoughts:
Not worth $45. $40 without the box, maybe. $30 for just the figure and a couple of guns, sure. But I'm not really disappointed, and I'm glad to have this around to fiddle with, repaint, put doll clothes on, or whatever. Fixing the issues will certainly keep my hands busy in the evenings. It satisfies whatever need I might have had for a Mezco Frank, or any Punisher figure.

Cap should be another week or so out. Now that I've got my expectations set, I'll know how to handle the fabric when the figure arrives.

>>6520856
Forgot to mention: The two rifles at the bottom of the top-left image here are obviously some kind of re-molded CORPS guns or from some other line. These are the guns that came packed with the coat. They're pretty bad, and are even a different plastic than the other guns, with no paint.

Something felt odd as I was moving his legs and torso around, so I popped the stitching on the back of his shirt to see what was up. One of the pieces inside of the torso was inserted backwards, I'm assuming, because I can't get him to bend back--only really far forward. And his legs are on the wrong sides. Nothing some boiling and popping shouldn't fix. But the leg that's on the left side of this image--wow--the knee bends really far forward. That'll make for a good "broken knee" pose along with the screaming face.

>>6523971
It's hard to find the official one at retail anymore, it's like $120+ now. It looks like you have to pay at least $45 to get the knock off with any guns that don't suck absolute dick. The next lowest price, $38 only comes with the two shittiest guns that aren't even from the original and the coat that tears instantly. In that case from the pictures the guy posted here it looks like you're getting a figure that's about a third as good for a third of the current price of the original. If it doesn't bother you just purely to have a knock off and it doesn't bother you to have a way shittier version you can save some money at least.

Yeah, I don't have the legit Punisher, but my others are official.
The big differences are that the KO has: inferior plastic quality (at every level), inferior paint apps, inferior stitching, poor execution of fabric patterns, inferior print application on the fabric.... Its just noticeably poor compared to a legit Mezco. If you don't own a Mezco yet, don't start with a KO. Get a cheaper figure like the Cage Spock or Commander Rogers to start with (they've both been cheap on Amazon) and use that experience to decide if you want to continue in with a KO.

The suit is a onesie like all/most Mezco suits. It stitches up the back and snugs around the calf pegs so that it doesn't go anywhere.
The belt and armor have simple pegs just like any MOTU or Marvel Legends pieces.

>>
>>6529912
What's stupid is not selling this version at retail.
>>
>>6529921
Second time they've put the most iconic version of a character as an exclusive.

I keep saying it, but Mezco is going to run the line in to the ground by playing games like this. They are making the line only attractive to customers with deep wallets and huge free time and scalpers.
>>
>>6529922
I couldn't agree more, but I got my preorder in so I'm not mad.

This company makes one half baked decision after another. It's like they want scalper to eat their lunch
>>
>>6529927
They're smarter than you give them credit for.

Shit like this is why even the lacklustre standard releases keep selling out. The perception these stunts create is that the line is super-popular and you'd better preorder, buy the instant a new figure is released, or miss out entirely.

Problem with that approach is eventually people get completely burned out by it. They should have waited longer after Punisher to try it again.
>>
>>6529927
They definitely want their product to be SUPER HOT SO DESIRABLE WOW and see scalpers as a useful tool to that end.

That doesn't work at all for long term health of the product line, though, and I'm glad that in just six months this went from everyone sucking mezco's dick on social media to people constantly telling them how fucking stupid they are.
>>
>>6529938
>>6529939
They're totally encouraging bootleggers to step up to fill the void, too. Should have had the most iconic Wolverine be standard retail and done something like this for the exclusive.
>>
Is this the hottest toy line there is right now? Where is this company from? Their figures are dope. They deserve the hype. Unfortunately I don't think the base price of 60-80 bucks on these is going to last. I bet you by this same time next year retail price is 120

I don't think Mezco is allowed to sell regular releases in stores though. The fact they keep making comic designs exclusive kinda shows that their license is limited.
Only DKR Batman got a regular release and that was very specific to an 80s design vs this wolverine or classic punisher. Plus, the DC license could be different from Marvel's.

>>6529959
Mezco has been around for decades. They got popular with the Hellboy line in the mid-00s and are very popular with doll groups since the 90s with their Living Dead dolls.
Now they're really popular with collectors for their One:12 line, after disappearing for a couple of years from making mainstream action figures.

Also, they've only gone up in price $10 since the DKR. So it seems they set up a buffer to keep their prices before $100 for a long while unless something really bad happens.

How do you know this?
It could be the same thing like NECA not being able to sell their TMNT except as exclusives, because as mentioned, almost all their normal releases are their own designs for Marvel characters. Comic specific ones have been exclusive.
Again, look at their DC releases on how they're able to release the comic designs like normal.

it points toward there being a difference with the licenses they have.
>>
>>6530034
Because almost all of their exclusives can still be ordered in by specialty shops.

NECAs problem is that they don't have the general release license for TMNT products at that scale. Mezco actually avoids the same issue that NECA has despite similar scales because
a) Not for mass retail release, just specialty shops
b) The cloth goods actually differentiate the licenses.

There's also the whole issue of them choosing to limit the production numbers at their own discretion.
>>
>>6530027
When you work late it's fucking horrid.

If they just did noon east coast nine west coast nobody would complain. As it is though, it's way way way easier to get these if you are on the east coast. They also did some at 5 am west coast time, too, so it can be worse from them.
>>
>>6530039
also to add, they have PLENTY of comic designs that are regular releases.
>>
>>6530039
Wait, if Mezco is selling these to specialty shops, why are you crying about them being exclusive then?
I don't have to cry about today's sold out Wolverine because i can just buy it later at my local comic shop?
>>
>>6530050
Because some, like this one and classic punisher, aren't sold to specialty shops.

Those are only on Mezco's site, and for wolverine a small amount at new york comic con.

Note that almost all, and just "all" are not the same thing.
>>

Now that the design is proven to be based on wally west's comic design, which according to other posters was a combination of totally different costumes, it's now there's a squabble over vague unspecified detail.

Somenoe made the claim that because Mezco chose to make the emblem more tactile that that means its not accurate, despite the fact that some of the most accurate toys ever made use these same techniques all the time.

All these shitty arguments made, just to deny the fact that Mezco is probably restricted from making comic book accurate figures with their Marvel license and can only release them as exclusives, while making their own designs as the standard release.

>>6530518
whatever dude, point is still made and is valid. they sculpted in the lines, yet its considered an accurate sculpt despite that.

That's cool how you want to pretend it's my fault people want to derail my point by talking about how if superman isn't accurate, it somehow makes everything else false.

No matter what, you guys are still crying over the sold out exclusive Wolverine because it looks like the one from the comic and dislike Mezco's own design isn't excusive.
Your own bitter tears shows that you want the comic ones which have been all exclusive.
Same shit with the white booty feet and gloved punisher.
>>
>>6530569
>Remembering what I said about one thing is the same as trying to derail my point about another thing!

This is literally attempted deflection.
>>
You guys are so fucking autistic and you can't even see it.
>>
>>6530596
oh, i see it, but I'm entertained that people would rather argue that the comic versions aren't comic versions, despite them wanting them for being comic versions and thus far they're all exclusive on the Marvel side, almost like their license doesn't allow the comic versions to be sold through normal means.
>>
>ITT newfags run into subjectautist for the first time
Jesus christ guys, i know you newbies all flew in from /co/ but could you at least learn to not bite bait as easily as the posters there do?

The guy you're arguing with doesn't care at all what your point is and what you say, they literally just shitpost on /toy/ all day hoping to get (you)s.
>>
>>6530703
>doesn't care at all what your point is
This is a flat out lie.
I care and why i directly say why their point is false.

Here's the claims
>The perception these stunts create is that the line is super-popular and you'd better preorder, buy the instant a new figure is released, or miss out entirely.
This is nothing but a conspiracy shitty.
Considering nearly every Marvel exclusive so far is based on the comic designs, it points toward their license preventing them from making those designs the standard release.

>>They could sell these in specialty shops all day long with the license they have.
Which is plain ol fucking stupid when he goes on to say this:
>Because almost all of their exclusives can still be ordered in by specialty shops.
WTF. Again, if this was true, that means anyone can just preorder the exclusive at their local comic shop?
Scalping ≠ not exclusive.
And scalping is only detrimental toward ANY company, as it upsets fans themselves and creates unrealistic demand, both which hurts Mezco's future sales.

The fact that people want to argue over how 3d emblems aren't comic accurate, just shows how little they care about their own points, especially when they were crying how everyone wants the Wolverine that looks like he came out of the comic.
They forget their own arguments and their whines only supports my own point.

Is MezKO dude around?

Dude, do you think taking apart the boots at the ankle is difficult? I ordered a couple Punishers to make customs and I need to repaint the boots.

Is it a ball joint I can just pop out or is it more complicated than that? Thanks in advance for your answer.
>>
>>6534916
The feet are on a short, ribbed peg. They pop off pretty easily, but getting the other end out of the boot might require heat and something to give you a strong grip. Pliers with a dishrag between them and the object has been my go-to.
>>
I really want to get into the mezco one 12 line. but I'm a bit hamhanded (broke a few revoltech joints) Are these aciton figures (especially the cloth) more durable or less durable compared to other toylines?

>>
>>6535573
The figures are genuinely sturdy, but the wrists and shoulder should be handled with some delicacy. The wrists are mostly exposed so you can see the joint and that should help you handle them properly, but the shoulders are usually hidden and have a pretty funky method for the butterfly joint so you should use reference photos and feel things out when you move them the first few times. The cloth covering shoulder joints could also be a concern if you're manhandling them.

But this begs the question: how are you handling your figures? Are you just grabbing them and blindly manipulating them? If you take hold of anything and apply pressure in the opposite or perpendicular direction, you're going to wind up with problems.

In many ways, I wonder if Mezco's 1:12 Collective action figure line has exceeded their expectations in terms of sales and demand. Companies such as NECA seem to mostly stay on track when it comes to following and adhering to delivery dates for new products. However, the detail of Mezco's One:12 Collective figures, (including real fabric clothes) could possibly present behind-the-scenes challenges they don't verbalize and we don't see on the consumer end. By no means is this an excuse for not meeting release dates, but I often suspect that this line grew much quicker than Mezco ever would've anticipated.

One thing is missing dates, what Mezco does is fucking outrageous at this point, they have no fucking respect for the costumer. Superman was expected to release in January.
They will release the classic Wolverine and I bet the Superman won't be shipping by that time
They choose what to release and when disregarding the dates they themselves put up, this is not a factory thing obviously, this guys are assholes

You're dumb, dude.

You're pretending that every figure is the same, but they're made differently from one another and each figure needs to be approved by the licensor, so who knows what's going on behind the scenes.
If they can't release something, it's not that they are fucking you over. It's that something is going on that is making them delay it. They're as affected by these delays as you are.

Stop treating delays as personal insults to you.
>>
>>6537283
>Mezco apologist
Of course.
It's been two years since they showed the Superman and more than a year since the pre-orders started they had plenty of time to solve whatever excuse you're giving them, if they can't get out product out, a product that's it's reaching a year of delay but they have readily available products for cons, their site and shit they solicited months after the first batch of pre-orders, it's obvious that they don't care about the people that pre-order the initial stuff
A year since this anon pre-ordered and no sings of anything >>6537251

Welcome to the nightmare that is keeping Judge Fear's mask attached to his face.

I don't know why 3A won't even try doing deeper tabs on that kind of stuff, it's always just shallow enough that a stiff breeze can blow things off.
>>
>>6541453
I'm going to add a dab of white glue and that's about it. I actually had a lot of trouble trying to get it out though.

I'll be adding glue to Deadpool's clipazines on one of his pistols, because it doesn't wanna be snug inside it.

White glue dries clear so there's usually no problem even if i add it to outside areas. And since it's just white glue, it comes off pretty easily. Just a firm pull will break it.
I've done this a lot with various GI Joe and MGR accessories.

Other than the faceplate (and the same problem with the helmet wings falling off which i forgot to mention earlier) he's actually pretty great, i think definitely the best Dark Judge so far. Good mail day today. Got my authentic Punisher and am in the process of turning it over to >>6541008
I also got my bootleg Cap, so here's a review.

Packaging is much better than the bootleg Punisher I'd gotten. There were styrofoam inserts that kept everthing nice and sharp in the shipper.
The retail box got the full treatment with a slipcase, magnets on the window box, and a high quality finish.
They still used a low-res image for the back panel, but whatever. The cardstock feels sturdy, and the plastics feel decent.
Everything was as you'd expect of a Mezco product with the exception of the back panel image being upside down and the use of tape to hold accessories in place. It even came with a One:12 ziplock baggie.

The figure and accessories are pretty obviously bootlegs.
The plastic is soft and feels cheap. The joints are slightly springy, indicating a soft plastic. The hands simply rest on the wrist joints (which stay in the forearms very well).
Paint apps aren't great. There's an obvious difference happening with the shield stripes compared to the mold. The faces are a little soft on details. The hands, boots, and belt accessories are really sloppy.
Soft goods quality is a big difference compared to the authentic product, but it's spot-on to what the bootleggers show in their listings.
Strangely, the screen printed diamond pattern is really rubbery and I don't feel like I have to worry about it cracking or peeling. Still, there are loose threads and doubled-over seams that look thick and out of place.
The red and white stripes are interesting--not a thick application, but like the fabric was dyed. The pants are just a touch too small and keep his legs from pulling tight poses.
Overall, the soft goods are pretty assy, but I didn't buy this for the clothes.
The boots are also just a little too large, and there is no slot to insert the knife.

The figure under the fabric is in way better shape than Punisher was, even with the softer plastic on the joints.
There're only two frozen joints here, and they're the butterfly joints in the shoulders. Everything else is fully mobile, and the legs are on the correct sides. Oddly, he's got the same issue Frank had where his left leg is longer than his right.
The grenades hold on well, even though they're very soft.
The shield is actually terrific--there are even magnets in the shield, harness, and forearms just like in the genuine figure. I was really worried about this.

Overall, for a parts figure or for something to fuck around with, it's great. Especially for under $40. I primarily got this for the hands, shield, and masked head. I'll figure out how to fix the knife slot, repaint the boots, trade the tops of them out with Frank, and then figure out how to use the rest of the figure as a work in progress that I'll likely never finish.

Don't kill yourself because you have to wait a few extra months for some figures. It would be one thing if nothing was coming out that you could enjoy, but there are a ton of rad toys coming out all the time these days and even ONE:12 has great figures coming out. More notes on KO Cap just in case anyone cares:
The leg length and hand issue were easily fixed by popping his boots off and boiling all of the items. The boots went back on and his legs are the correct length now, and after cooling, his hands stay on pretty well. However, this did leech some color from the boots somehow. They're now a very faded light--almost like acid wash jeans, but red and brown.
The boot's sheath was actually there, too, just hiding behind some flash that gave way instantly when I poked a drill bit through. The Capwolf head also looks pretty OK on this body, too.
