I'm surprised at how off the white elbows look to me, heh. Just too used to seeing grey elbows for Gundams. The white hips joints are a huge improvement, though.

Overall though, an absolutely gorgeous figure. Excellent articulation and everything simply feels solid and weighty. I can definitely understand the criticism of the MB Astrays now; the mostly unpainted Astrays definitely seem less premium than the 00's matte painted finish.

No problem! :)

Honestly it is a little tricky simply because it puts so much weight forward that you have to be wary of tipping the Tyrant over. I'm sure on the "real" thing this would be counterbalanced by the heavy engine in the rear. In any case the RD's arm joints were plenty strong enough for the job.

Are you asking about the Hi-Metal 35th Anniversary VF-1? If so, that one is scheduled for release on September 30th.

>>6538236
I totally get you on the fixed number markings. I would be much more eager to double up on Destroids if they had different unit numbers. I could see Bandai releasing different units as web exclusives, heh.

Another IBO rd owner here, on 3 different instances of me owning barbatos and kimaris, the hands don't snap onto the wrist pegs so they fall out very easily. I thought mine were just a bad batch, so I rebought them and it happened again, after the third time I just didn't bother with them.

They really phoned it in with the IBO robot spirits.

I got the anime RX-78 and love it. Takes me back to the fun of the old MSIA line; those were some of my favorite figures when I was young. I've always been curious about this line but never dipped in until now.

Is the Mk-II any good?
>>
>>6546330
MK-II is alright but I'd personally wait for a maybe potential ANIME MK-2 or something. The old one's not really worth it unless you can find it for $25 or cheaper.
>>
>>6546330
It's pretty lackluster by RD standards, but if you like the lanky proportions and can find it cheap then go for it.
>>
>>6546330
Just stick with the ANIME line and don't diverge.

Focus, focus and focus. You will get full lineup of mobile suits from 1979 to 1984 with consistent scaling, aesthetics, engineering and weapons compatibility.
>>
>>6546330
It's good, I like the thinner proportions on it.

If you want the ultimate MK-II toy and money is no problem, get the Ka Signature Full Armor MK-II. It is amazing, I bought it and I love it.

Surprisingly, an ebay retailer had it for a decent price. On top of that, ebay was running a flash sale ($15 off $75 purchase) and that brought it down to just 4 bucks above MSRP.

>>6546010
Glad to hear you're enjoying it thus far! Definitely an imperfect release (though I do feel the battroid is pretty much perfect!), but still a great addition to a collection. The transformation has some unique steps, so I'm excited for you to transform it the first time, haha.

It seriously does. I still like my Astrays and think they're great toys on their own, but when you get them next to the 00, the 00 is much more immediately impressive. The Astrays' gloss finish works great for the black areas, but the white areas definitely could have used some matte coating. Would have made a nice contrast between the gloss/matte areas too.

The 00's greatness has me extra excited for Qan[T] now, though.

It seems like Okawara designs from the First Gundam and MSV are the ones with the most number of different distinction renditions.

Things from Zeta and onwards don't have too many distinct versions. I could only recognise generic(MG ver. 2.0 etc?) vs Katoki.

The RD Gundam Mk-II, Zeta Gundam and Hyakushiki all share the the same designer, supposedly the same one who did the SCM EX line. Similarly, the early RD Zaku II and Gouf Custom might be so too.

He collects Gundam but I know that they're hard to find/expensive here in Australia.
What is the best thing I could bring back for him under 25k yen, and where should I be looking once I'm there?
>>
>>6547355
Which Gundam does he like? If he likes 0079 then get an A.N.I.M.E figure.
>>
>>6547355
Has he ever built gunpla? Gunpla might be nice. If not metal fix figuration Origin RX-78-2 is cool and should be in your budget
>>
>>6547355
>What is the best thing I could bring back for him under 25k yen

You can get a whole range of things for 25k yen. Does he collect figures or plamo? You could get him a Metal Build figure which would be a nice gift.

>where should I be looking once I'm there?

Akihabara if you're going to Tokyo.

Get him a Perfect Grade kit if he prefers model kits, if you don't mind carrying a rather large box with you back home.
>>
>>6547376
no, that hidden feature feature is still there.
>>
>>6547355
Buy him a Gundam animation cel. Visit Nakano Broadway.

Though, most good Gundam animation cels are at least 10k each.

I am suggesting cels because they are unique and can't be mass produced. You brother in law has means of accessing model kits himself, so buy him something that he can't access.

Any issues with the Zeta or Shining RDs? Was considering grabbing one of those two.

The Zeta might end up getting some kind of ANIME version, but if the one that's been released is good I'll go ahead and grab it.

If they had made the Kimaris Trooper, I'd have coughed up whatever money they'd wanted. I saw the RD in person and the finish looks a bit underwhelming. With some basic gunpla skills, the HG Kimaris kit is a way more tempting toy to get. I'm sure the RD is sturdier than the HG will ever be but it's also pricey for just an okay looking RD.

Shining's solid and well articulated. Totally recommend it.

I'd rather have an ANIME Zeta that's solid and looks great than one that transforms.
>>
>>6547786
As far as I can tell there has never been a good transformable Zeta, so I'd prefer both in one neat package. Bandai's been getting pretty good at this sort of thing if Xabungle and the HMR Valkyries are anything to go by.
>>
im getting gm cannon tomorrow, keep peeled
>>
>>6547065

Yeah I'm going to try and transform it into both Gerwalk and Battroid form soon, and then display it in Gerwalk (that's my favorite form second to just them being in Flight mode). What makes it an imperfect release though, in your opinion?

GM Cannon is not as good as the Zaku Cannon in inheriting traits from their base model.

The GM Cannon's right arm is hindered by the base of the cannon, much like how FA Gundam's armor obstructed the joints. The neck could only rotate to the right due to the head antennas and the cannon clashing, while the knees are only single jointed and the feet has no toe joint.
>>
>>6547724
God that entire image is one visual mess.
>>
>>6547809
>there has never been a good transformable Zeta

There are reasons for that. (Though, honestly, the HCMPro version was really impressive for it's size.)

>Bandai's been getting pretty good at this sort of thing if Xabungle and the HMR Valkyries are anything to go by.

It's the way HMR Xabungle has turned out that makes me wish they'd not try with Zeta. My desire for a robust robot toy is just way the fuck greater than my desire for the transformation.
>>
>>6548480
>The GM Cannon's right arm is hindered by the base of the cannon, much like how FA Gundam's armor obstructed the joints. The neck could only rotate to the right due to the head antennas and the cannon clashing

Wtf were you expecting?
>>
>>6548480
>>6548680
Yeah, if you weren't expecting some hindered articulation on this, you were setting yourself up for failure.

The knees don't look all that bad. Seems it can still pull off a decent kneeling pose.

The head rotation was something I hadn't thought about, but it makes sense. Bit of a downside, but you can't do much about it with the design.

The right arm though; I knew that was gonna be fucked off the bat. It's still the only figure representation of the suit, and I'm still excited for it. I'll get mine Wednesday.

Seems that way. I know a promo shot on Bandai's webshop shows the African Front barrel using the beam effect.

Minor gripe, I was hoping the normal barrel would support the FA Gundam's cannon effect...

On an unrelated note, out of curiosity, what do you all suspect the A.N.I.M.E. line to do for the upcoming year? I'm curious because the exclusive Gelgoog threw me for a loop, and I fear they're trying to finish the 0079 run earlier than I expected.

Seems my hopes for an A.N.I.M.E. MSV Juaggu have been dashed...

Actually flicking through this book reminds me just how much MSV stuff they could make if they really wanted to push it.
That said. Gyan, Zeong, Zock and Ball are the 4 that stand out to me from the main show minus Big Zam that I can't recall if they have shown anything off yet, but the ones I'd not be surprised to see them announce at the very least.

Would love Shin and Johnny Zakus along with countless other MSV variants.

Oh yeah, they could go nuts if they wanted to. My MSV wishlist comes down to Gouf Flight Test Type, Juaggu, and Zogok. If they're being generous, a Dom Tropical Test Type would be nice too, but not something I need desperately. Heh.

Zeong is a given, and I wouldn't be surprised about Gyan either (hell, I loved the MSiA Gyan. Serve it up). Zock and Ball SHOULD be made, but I always wonder about Bandai's thinking, so it wouldn't surprise me if they skipped them for some dumb reason. That being said, we've yet to see any prototypes of any of them yet.

I could see them doing a Char's Gelgoog mass release and an Elmeth exclusive too. Way too major of a plot point to pass up those figures.

I'd kind of like them to keep the ball rolling and move onto Zeta after they finish knocking out the major ones. I get the desire to have obscura that matches the rest of the A.N.I.M.E. line, but I'm afraid they'll jinx it or something if it's too prolonged.

Though I don't know if Zeta's designs in the anime are distinct enough from what we've got already to justify it. The MkII is, but I'm not sure about the Zeta Gundam. Either way I'd like to see what they do.

Aw yeah, Gerwalk is my favorite mode too! As to the VF-19's imperfection, part of it is the gaps in fighter mode as >>6548188 mentioned. Probably the biggest thing for me is how the super part boosters attach, particularly in fighter mode. Most VF-19s seem to have difficulty getting at least one of the boosters to attach securely; you can get it in the right spot and it'll stay, but it won't lock in as it should. Worst part though is attaching the boosters in fighter mode; you have to unpeg the wings from the fuselage in order to attach the boosters in fighter. It's not the hugest deal, but in a shady move, Bandai straight up photoshopped all the pre-release/promo images of the fighter mode to hide that fact.

That's probably my only real complaint. Overall it's a fantastic valk (pinpoint shield punch effect? too cool!), only the booster attachment could have been done better.

>>6548237
>>6549829
It's great! Just as good as the VF-25 Renewals. In terms of which is best, they're really all pretty much the same. The only significant difference is with the very, very first YF-29 Alto release; later 29 models (including the Alto reissues) added in an extra support bar to make the gerwalk mode more secure. I have one of the Alto reissues so I can't say from experience what difference it makes, but I've read that it wasn't really necessary. So if Alto's scheme is your bag, try to get one of the reissues, but generally you're gonna be good with any of the 29s.

Someone pointed out earlier that we do not have any RDs from 0080 or 0083, so perhaps they will be doing those in the ANIME line next? Its very odd Bandai has not touched either of those in the RD line, and chronilogically they are the next big Gundam stories after 0079

How do you guys pack metal robots and metal builds for moving? Also, I think I've got to stop collecting RDs. Just found a bunch I put away and then completely forgot about. Ingram, Belial, and a Laevatein. Not to mention ones I had in another room basically hidden away.
>>
>>6552227
The ideal way to do it would be to re-use their original packaging, since it's designed for safely transporting the figure without it getting damaged. Otherwise I guess you'd want to wrap each individual limb to prevent any sort of paint rubbing for the larger ones, wrap the whole figure, and put it in an appropriately sized box.
>>
>>6552162
I like the Enhanced version too, it looks cooler, but definitley got some serious thickness on the lower half of the figure.

I don't even plug in the wings on my Dunbine figures I dunno what Bandai was thinking with those sockets.
>>
>>6553027
I'm talking about the EX-S, Sirbine, and Metal Build F91's VSBRs. I guess the Epyon too but the wings on mine are so loose I had to put tape on the sockets.
>>
>>6551966
The Zeta is pretty nice, no problems with mine. I would suggest getting a Stage 5 display base made for RDs, the Zeta really takes advantage of it and you can get some nice dynamic poses with it.

Aura Phantasm is sort of like an MSV artbook so nothing really. I know Sirbine did get some story at some point outside of the OVA, but I don't know if it was in the original book. Stuff like Sirbine's powered up form Sirbest came from something later I think. Aura Phantasm does have equivalents to most of the Aura Battlers from the TV series though.

I hate how the waist just floats over the top of the legs. It looks so weird. I think the thing Gundam mastered is skirts. No matter what there's always something to obscure that unusual gap, keeps things nice and pretty. Even if it's small like Exia's it's elegant in keeping the body continuous.

We could call them Izubuchi's sophisticated renditions of the regular characters. Or call them MSV variants. The Bellvine is known to just be an adaptation of the Billbine, much like what the Hi Nu was to the Nu Gundam.

There are actual MSVs for the Drumlo like the Masaragu, Gadram and Gashim. The Playstation video game featured a few of the MSVs along with Selbine, the mass production Billbine.

However, the Bellvine for the RD has been heavily simplified to match the aesthetics of the rest of the RD aura battlers.

But of course, putting the Aura Phantasm(Sirbine and Zwauth included) guys in a separate shelf is also a valid idea.

Even the Gundam MSV stuff, are usually represented in sophicated Okawara lineart adorned with decals etc and the TV series guys like the GM are Zaku should have more realistic colours(white GM, olive Zaku) when coexisting with the MSV variants.

However, we did have anime styled lineart for the Gundam MSV variants.

http://yaplog.jp/tokinokaze/archive/1013

The above site has proper Dunbine MSVs that made it into the Playstation game. The game has a similar engine to the Getter Robo, Gundam Perfect One Year War and PS2 Seed Destiny games.

Yeah, I think the Bellvine is an interpretation, or more specifically, an apology design to replace the toyetic bird transforming Billbine.

So Billbine and Bellvine can't coexist.

Judging from their simplified design, I don't think we will get Aura Phantasm ver of the TV characters. My Vierres is gorgeous enough already and a simplified Aura Phantasm ver will just be the same.

I checked the Bellvine description in the Aura Phantasm book which was very brief. It didn't say much except that it followed the Dunbine speed orientated machine lineage which also included the Virunvee. The Drumlo on the otherhand led to the development of the Leprechaun and Zwarth which were heavy firepower oriented.

Got my 35th Anniversary HMR VF-1S on the way from HLJ, along with the Mafex 2001 figures.

Has something happened to HLJ? First they forced me to enter a Paypal billing agreement with them, and applied it retroactively to my old orders - meaning I found my account nearly £70 light for the Mafex figures and didn't receive any notification as to why until the next day. Then there's that new inline currency converter bullshit that you need to set back to yen in order to not get overcharged on every purchase. And finally, when I put my order together for shipping there was no longer an RSAL option - just FedEx, DHL and EMS. Opted for FedEx because it was the cheapest but now I'm 100% guaranteed to get a fat £40+ customs and handling charge on the package.

I've used HLJ for something like 15 years, but I think the Metal Robot Strike Freedom will be the absolute last thing I ever order with them.

>>
>>6556060
Yeah... I was thinking the same thing. I already checked prices at a few places and told myself if it didn't pop up this week I'd preorder elsewhere...

I'm a bit concerned about the US P-Bandai at this point. They haven't updated with any new products lately, as well as how they've skipped some options like the red version of the Ex-S. I have a feeling it's not going to last, or rather, it's actually already done...
>>

since US-P Bandai worked by HK and SG it would seem like the most recent GFFMC Wing gundam overloaded them. since both of their own locations are limited to 1 per customer while the US is limited to 6. They probably had tons of complaint emails.

The lack of update could be Bandai working out the details of an official US team.

Sutherland is a web exclusive due to be shipped in April. Price is 6912 yen incl tax.

i am surprised that even the Sutherland has breached the 6000 yen mark.

In terms of default prices, Gundam and GM were 5000 yen, Zaku and Z'Gok were 5500. Dunbine stuff are generally 8000 yen.

Budget TRI line seems to be dead as there are no current mecha shows. We will have to wait and see how it goes with the two Silhouette Knights from Knight's and Magic.
>>
>>6558451
Its alright for what it is, and you don't really have a better option short of building the MG. I would get the nano skin version though because there is a real lack of detail on the older RDs and the silver helps cover some of that up.

Does anyone think the ANIME line is the be all and end all of Gundam figures?

To me it is for First Gundam as it even includes obscure MSVs. I won't expect a similar line in 15 years or ever again, and at the same time Okawara and co won't be around by then.

We live in interesting times as the pioneering robot titles are 35-45 years old already. Once their creators go, the traditional take on them will disappear.

Of course, toy designers don't need the original designers to approve things. The toy designers themselves are also fans of the shows back in the day, and the generation after will probably see more modern styling as the benchmark.

Heads up! HLJ has preorders for the Hi-Metal VF-2SS open again:

https://hlj.com/product/BANN17742

As other anons have discussed, HLJ is changing their payment system. In short, it appears you're no longer going to have the option to receive a payment link when an item is in-stock. Instead, once an item is in-stock, you'll automatically be charged either by credit card or via Paypal.

Can't say I'm a fan of this change myself, but hopefully this new credit card processor is as good as HLJ claims. More info:

https://support.hlj.com/hc/en-us/articles/115000288473

>>6557115
Looking good, I didn't realize it came with the snazzy Anniversary stand either. Gonna hold off on it as I've got plenty of VF-1s as it is, but if it's still around during the sale season I'll grab one for sure.

Finally got around to opening Z'Gok. Fantastic RD, very clean lines and I love the plethora of stuff it comes with. Very interesting method for moving the monoeye, with the eye being a separate piece that you can slot into different positions.

Agreed! I wasn't planning to pick up the upcoming Guren, but having Sutherlands for the Guren to fight suddenly makes it a lot more appealing.

The trick with HLJ is to order with the Paypal agreement and then cancel the agreement from your Paypal account before you expect any payment notice.

It is annoying as it is reactivated when you want to order something.

>>
>>6558840
Fuck this shit. Do not like it one bit. Sounds like I will have to pay the exchange rate their payment processor wants to charge me instead of my card rate which is 0%. This is going to cost me a lot of extra money.

Going back to AmiAmi.
>>
>>6558851
If you cancel the agreement do your orders get canceled too?
>>
>>6558843
What really makes the SUtherland a truly amazing RD is the cockpit block.

The ejection is fucking amazing.
>>
>>6558861
No, you will be safe. I do it all the time and receive the 3 day payment window when an item is in stock. I would laugh if they cancel all our orders :)
>>
>>6558864
So what happens exactly? They send an e-mail saying your payment didn't go through and then tell you to add some other source?

I just don't want to get slammed with unexpected charges from some mystery release date (Japan has a LOT of them) and then have to wait for an actual refund on my card if I don't want that item or can't afford it at that specific date. So if what you said will work out then I will keep using them.
>>
>>6558851
>The trick with HLJ is to order with the Paypal agreement and then cancel the agreement from your Paypal account before you expect any payment notice.
>>6558864
>No, you will be safe. I do it all the time and receive the 3 day payment window when an item is in stock. I would laugh if they cancel all our orders :)

My question is...when you do this can you pick the payment source AND if it's converted via PayPal or the credit card? I have a no fee card and I certainly don't want to re-enable the billing agreement when it comes time to pay then have it charge me PayPal's shitty ass rates instead. That's why i'm fundamentally against auto-pay in the first place because PayPal keeps defaulting back to it's currency exchange rate even when I tell it not to.
>>
>>6558875
Well that just means you don't have enough on your card/paypal and that you need to add in more. You can ask them for a payment delay, they will happily oblige.
>>
>>6558877
I have no Paypal balance, my Paypal is linked to my 0 exchange rate fee credit card.
>>
>>6558840
Meh I always have money when what I ordered is due.

Only poor people need that extra day or so a payment link offers :^)
>>
>>6558886
Yeah but when you pay does it just go through automatically with no further input? Right now with the e-mail invoices you basically have to log in, it gives you an amount AND you choose right there whether you want to use PayPal's exchange rate or the card issuer.

When you set up a billing agreement can you do the same thing?
>>
>>6558856
Looks like you can opt to be charged in yen. Which would be how I'd prefer to do it, because my creditcard also owns with its lack of fees and good exchange rates.

That metallic swirled plastic make them look pretty cheap, which I guess they are. Get the feeling Bandai made these to sell internationally, hence the much-reduced prices and cheaper finishing.

It sounds like the film is going to be terrible by all accounts anyway, so at least they're doing Chogokins of the original Jaegers.
>>
>>6559126
I'm amused that Gypsy will be larger than my other RD and hopefully in-scale with the SoC - as far as I know Avenger is smaller than Danger.

I asked them when the Gelgoog was going up and this is what they sent me:

"Hello! Thank you for your interest in Premium Bandai America.

With regards to your inquiry about "Robot Spirits ANIME MS-14A Gelgoog ", we regret to inform you that it is temporary out of stock and we have not receive an information when it will be re-offered."

Don't know what that means.
>>
>>6559126
Economies of scale are probably also reducing the price. I would guess that being sold internationally the number made out of the molds will be way higher. The variable manufacturing costs were probably kept to a minimum too though.

Same reason Gundam stuff is less expensive than Dunbine. They can print more units and expect to sell them so they can afford to charge lower prices to attract more people. I am assuming that the molds, plastic, and assembly cost roughly the same though and they probably do.
>>
>>6558927

I've always just been using Paypal and paying in Yen like usual. I know on Nippon-Yasan you can save money by checking out in Yen but I'm not sure what to do on HLJ now anymore.
>>
>>6559294
It means they don't have any in stock and they have no information about if they ever will have any to sell to Americans.

Aka you have to go through the old routes to get it.
>>
>>6559309
I've been doing the same with Paypal, yes. Paypal makes it a bit more of a bitch to set that up admittedly.

Am I the only one that wanted an RD of the Dragoon?
>>
>>6561702
I would like to army build them, but too bad the Obari Dragonars didn't take off and neither did Vifam.

The only successful 80s lines are Dunbine and L Gaim. Patlabor to follow hopefully.
>>
>>6561763
Both Dragonar and Vifam lack compelling designs for the villains. I think Dragonar actually put out all the characters most fans would buy including that SPEC Gilgazamune. The only thing Vifam had left that had any popularity was Dilfam and even that was pretty iffy. I think Patlabor will have the same problem soon. Griffon and Peacemaker are the only things left that most people will give a shit about.

I actually think they've pretty much exhausted popular 80s stuff without redoing characters who already had relatively recent Tamashii figures like Layzner.
>>
>>6561763 It would of been great, Oddly I think its a really good MP unit, Im surprised they didnt pull a fast one like with the Dragonar SOC line. I think they should have gone with a katoki/okawara style (Like the Dragoon posted)
>>6562267 Thats kinda true, I still found a handful of grunt units in Dragonar interesting notably the Schwalg. (Which I kinda found kinda cute but like how Acguy is seen as a cute mech)

Got my VF-1S in the other day, my god does it look stunning. That black paint really pops in fighter mode, so crisp.
Unfortunately there was a slight paint scuff on the heat shield on mine, not noticeable in fighter or gerwalk mode since that part isn't used. I don't know if my shite phone camera picked it up too well here

What's it gonna take for Banda to make RDs of:

Kaempfer
Hi-Zack
Matsunaga's Zaku II Hi-Mobility

I'd also kill for a Dom Troppen or Zaku II F-2 from 0083.
>>
Anons, is there any chance of the RD Geara Zulu being reissued??
>>
>>6562778
Zaku II F2 or Zaku II Kai would be great. Also considering the Izubuchi aesthetics on the Patlabor line, I think it can be easily done.

Its possible that the ANIME line will continue into 0080 and 0083 since Bandai has mysteriously avoided making RDs of mobile suits from those series

Got some HMR/robot damashii/AGP questions.

>Will they do macross delta jets in hmr?
I'm tempted by the 1/60 monsters but considering I got enough valks to start a small fleet I decided to ditch my plans to get that web exclusive vf31a, I also never seen macross delta yet but I dig the designs enough to want a hmr of one
>Is the RD signature FAZZ just a retool of the RD full armor zz
I don't know shit, I can't make out shit
>AGP FAZZ's face options
From what I can make out she has a winking face, a smile and open mouth, any yandere faces like the mk2 agp?

Those dead eyes would make her an instant buy as she murders someone, as well as invalidate the need for the RD signature FAZZ
>>
>>6565310
No idea about the last 2 but Delta jets in HMR seems unlikely for the foreseeable future I'd say. The VF-31 and the SV-262 have fairly complicated transformations, they might be able to do the 31 but the Draken seems too complicated to work at HMR scale without being fragile as fuck or very expensive.
I also doubt they'd want to make them now while the main 5 Walkure Valk lineup still isn't completed and take potential sales away from the DX Chogokin line, maybe in 5 years or so who knows.
Now where the fuck's my HMR VF-19 Bandai, the old one's a mess.
>>
>>6565327
I guess no vf30+ for me then, the price is too great for something I'm not invested in yet (from what I seen of the show there is along of singing...) and a nice design alone isn't enough to pay for something that should be a holy grail, its a shame really.

>other valks in hmr
I welcome this but after getting all these vf1's I'll just be getting the leads, no chasing every variant like I am for the vf1's
>>
Just received my 35th Anniversary VF-1S. "Messer" turned out to be a sadly appropriate name, as it's a bit of a mess.

Battroid looks decent, but the paint job isn't clean enough to hold together in fighter and gerwalk modes - paint on some panels doesn't run all the way to the edge, bleeds, etc. Chipped paint off the pegs on the inner calves first transformation out, something that's never happened on the others. Also I suspect the mould might finally be dying as it's nowhere near as solid or smooth to transform as the mass production VF-1A. Also the packaging art is just a photomanipulation of the toy, not actual Tenjin work. A lazy release, but the 35th anniversary base is alright at least. I'm certainly not going to complain about lack of paint in future if this is the best Bandai can do.
>>

That sounds like the hmr, been reading on a macross forum that he was ok, maybe they didn't handle him much.
