I really liked their Bludgeon and I absolutely love the colors and new sculpted details on Banzaitron. I got pretty lucky with my Bludgeon and amazingly didn't end up with ANY of the QC problems other folks have been having with their figures so if they're actually making improvements to make sure those QC issues don't crop up again, then this guys is a guaranteed buy for me. Sure, he'll effectively be the same figure but uggghhhhhh those colors are so obnoxiously sexy.

>Nothing redeemable
I dunno man, I actually dig it. Alt mode is a little slim and I would have preferred a more Earth-centric look to it but that's not really MMC's thing so it's still pretty solid overall. It looks like a far better representation of the character than their Whirl was.

>>6556382
Ugh, was there seriously no way they could fold that tail up into the legs? I appreciate that it can come off but it's still partsforming. It will probably be usable as a weapon like the Classics figure but let's be honest here, that "weapon" was fucking stupid. Also, his sword looks so fucking tiny and pathetic. I don't care if it's like that to be able to store cleanly in alt mode or some shit. Grimlock needs a big imposing sword and that looks like a glorified knife.

>>
>>6556437
If you play along with the mass shifting game and fudge things like the cartoon always did, they work pretty well for MP replacements. Laserbeak and Buzzsaw are a little big but Ravage looks absolutely fantastic next to MP Soundwave and if >>6556440 is anything to go by, so will Frenzy and Rumble. Not to mention, they really are pretty neat in general, even as standalone pieces. My only major complaint so far is that I wish SOMETHING could have been done about the label tampos being so crooked on the birds.
>>
>>6556479
I don't see why it wouldn't. The hands are a little smaller on the OS Classics Prime so it may be a little loose but it should at least fit over them and work just fine for display purposes.

I wouldn't know personally, but probably not considering MP10's axe is molded to friction fit over his balled fist.

You could probably cut it or add some kind of filler to the axe hole to make it fit on kibble prime's hands, but I don't know why you'd buy an MP10V for the axe instead of buying it and then throwing out your kibble prime.

The short version is this. Some Japanese dude did 2 volumes of fan-art a few years back for transformers characters turning into robotic animals called T-Beast. Some were from Beast Wars and some were G1 characters but all were reimaginings of the characters.

GT eventually decided to pick up his designs and turn them into figures without contacting him. He ultimately didn't care about the idea of them using his designs and technically didn't have any way to stop them if he wanted to but his designs being produced as toys to be sold for profit did cause a few problems for him.

For starters, he had to contact one of his friends at Takara as well as several other colleagues immediately to clear the air and make it known that he had absolutely no involvement with these IP infringing figures just so he could legally protect himself and protect his reputation as an artist. The other problem is that he was attacked by autistic HasTak white knights over twitter who just assumed he was working directly with GT and lashed out at him for infringing on poor helpless HasTak's IP for profit when, in reality, he has no involvement and isn't seeing an ounce of credit or compensation. Ultimately, the white knight fanboys wouldn't listen to reason and he decided he would never do TF fanart again because this incident ruined it for him. He still ultimately doesn't care about the theft of his designs but he suffered some fallout over the whole debacle. He's not crying over it but there are still some other folks who get mad for him over the whole thing and are now bitching about GT and calling for boycotts despite the dude saying he doesn't care that much.

>>6556496
Because the original design had them.
>>
My TFcon loot.
>>
>>6556525
Everything you said is accurate except that he did come out on his twitter and state that he was initially upset that they used his designs without contacting him first- so that part is incorrect, but he did state later he no longer cared about any of it after being attacked by all the faggots and just wanted out of the whole mess.
>>

>The OTHER Thundercracker figure never
>>
>>6556524

>>
>>6556513
The MP/G1 six shot is being made by FT and he's only 150 USD.
The only MP Overlord is the FansHobby one and he's 16' tall and will probably be over 200 USD.

Are you trying to do an MP or IDW crew?
>>
>>6556506
>One of these toys is well made.png
I dunno bro, both of them look pretty sweet to me. MMC's Carnifex was great but I wasn't feeling Hexatron. GCreation's take on him honestly looks better and the fact that they're using Carnifex for comparison shots tells me there's no bad blood between the two companies over it and that GC intends for them to work on a shelf together.

>>6556534
Never heard ANY of this. Care to give some details and a source?

>>6556530
>he did come out on his twitter and state that he was initially upset that they used his designs without contacting him first
He did? I thought the real reason he was upset was more to do with having to suddenly cover his ass and contact everyone he knew in the industry to make it clear he wasn't involved. That post mostly just seemed like he was upset at the situation and not about the designs. I can still see it though because they were his designs. Still, it's honestly best for him this way anyway. If he did get formal credit or compensation or even gave consent in the first place, HasTak could have easily come after him since he's within their legal borders. Not to mention, it gives him an excuse to get away from the TF fandom because, admittedly, it's a pretty shitty community. There's plenty of decent folks in it but between twitter, TFW, and the boards here, there's enough loud whiny crybabies to really ruin the experience and make you feel embarrassed for being associated with it. We, as a fandom, seem completely incapable of letting people enjoy things.

>>
>>6556570
I'm a little confused here because from everything I'm reading in those threads is pointing to two guys behind the figure, TGPing and YourReflection, neither of which (as far as I'm aware of) are the artist behind T-Beast. I attempted to look up both and from what I did find of either, their art didn't look particularly similar and from what I gathered in the threads, neither of them was Japanese which the artist behind T-Beast IS. Plus, unless I'm pulling the wrong name here, doesn't the T-Beast artist go by the name of Kuramochi Zukan or something like that? Or is that just what he labels all of his works as?

The information in those threads also points to there being proof that the money paid for the production of the figure was actually refunded to the con organizer and then mods closed the thread immediately after that was stated, so it leads back to the organizer being the real problem.

Then again, reading those threads is not exactly the clearest presentation of the information because nobody is willing to state a clear connection and the discussion bounces between multiple threads. I also don't know exactly who most of these people are because I don't pay attention to the big names in the fandom.

Anybody with a clearer understanding of the situation care to shed some light on it? All I'm getting out of this is that it doesn't actually appear to be the same artist and he paid back the money anyway.

>Is it really that hard?
Yes, very obviously so. G1 could do it because they were bricks and CW barely managed it at the expensive of having everything use recycled engineering. Scramble city is more trouble than it's worth when you could just do away with it completely and actually get well engineered, solid characters.
>>
>>6556667
Honestly I like Scramble City. CW/UW proved that it can be done, and in all honesty if an enterprising 3P company used similar technology (albeit with increased budget and partscount) it'd work well.

Honestly I wish someone would make CW-compatible 3P combiners. They'd be CHUG scale (Deluxe limbs and Voyager torso) with the same ports and pegs, and a similar basic limb transformation (Robot legs form forearm, hands and feet peg in separately) but the higher budget would let them be less hollow and better articulated. Plus, if you liked, for example, CW Swindle better than the 3P Swindle, because of the same ports you could mix-and-match official and 3P components to make your perfect combiner.

These look really cool. I got to handle one and it was really cool.
>>
>>6556706
I wish I had pre-ordered kanedas bike.
>>
>>6556691
But how?
You could make the combiner pegs smaller if hiding them and getting in the way of other parts is an issue, parts count is not a concern for third party releases anyway, and if these new Assailing Malta guys turn out to be good it would disprove the need for partsforming on combiners.

I don't think there's a good reason for most combiner design-related myths other than it allowing for babby-mode on the designers.
>>
Wei Jiang Rendsora and Motorman Sleuth.

What are your thoughts? I got both today. Rendsora actually has diecast in him which is impressive and they gave him wrist swivels.

I hope they get around to upscaling Nitro Zeus at some point.
>>
>>6556696
The handlebars were just too damn small. MT's plastic quality is top-notch but something that fucking thin on a transforming toy that has to combine is going to break no matter how good the plastic. And hey, at least they actually made replacements- I don't see HasTak offering replacement parts.

As for how that guy managed to break the torso I have no idea. That thing is a plank of solid metal. He either deliberately broke it or is far too stupid to be allowed near a Tonka toy, let alone a high-end figure.
>>
>>6556718
How about this, I don't want to give them an excuse to jack up the price per figure because a insignificant number of people think Vortex looks better as a foot.
>>

3rd party bots are already heavier and more complex than scramble capable mainline bots. Adding more engineering complexity via scramble and trying to minimize partsforming you end up with compromise. CW/UW was nothing but compromise;the toyline for this reason. Shin modes were basically blocks while arms were just limbless robot torsos with plugged in fists. I don't want basic bitch shit in my line.

While Bruticus himself was only shown using the one combination, both Battle Gaia and Baldigus/Ruination made a point of using the limb swapping to give themselves different forms with different strengths.
>>
>>6557133

The FH one isn't out yet, and the MMC Roadbuster has kind of shitty articulation on his arms (the shoulder pads are a real problem and severely restrict his arm motion). It's not a bad figure beyond that.

Also the FH one will be MP sized most likely, so if you don't like that, well, there it is. It will probably be the best Roadbuster when it comes out, however. FH makes good stuff, I've got two of their releases so far, really good stuff.

>>
>>6557184
Maketoys is top of the game right now. Best articulation, good engineering and great plastic.

Their Galaxy Force Starscream was initially $120 but was dropped down to $99.

Depending on the size of this guy (seeing as its Masterpiece Scale) he could be any where from $150-$200

Prices on 3p in general have been stabilizing a bit and trending down. While MT may have charged $150 for something like their Gentoo Battle Sentinel figure in the past nowadays that would be more of an $80 purchase.
>>
>>6557178
All their "april fools jokes" are just teasers for future toys.
>>
>>6556487
>then throwing out your kibble prime
What is with the retroactive hate meme on Classics Prime? It shows its age but it's still a solid enough toy and is still a far better CHUG Prime than CW or TR Prime.

$400 is what you would expect to pay for a city bot or a combiner, Pretty sure we can expect much cheaper for Galaxy Force Prime. Especially since Galaxy Meteor was so low to begin with.

>>6556382
>>6556450
We really need to start rethinking the Grimlock transformation if his alt mode is gonna keep evolving into a more "realistic" T-rex like this. Like, the alt mode actually looks pretty solid, save for the garbage neck joint, but because it's clearly still trying to adhere to the basic principles of the G1 transformation, it suffers in a few places to facilitate it, as does the robot mode which kinda suffers EVERYWHERE for it, especially the partsforming tail and the giant chunks of foot kibble hanging off his wrists. I get it. Grimlock's transformation has become iconic and changing that up feels like taking away a part of what makes him Grimlock but it's not an important enough part to sacrifice the rest of the design for to stick to.
>>
>>6557042
>>6557117
Fansproject's Warbot line had Rift shot and Recoiler. Repaints of their Revolver, each had special equipment that could be worn by them individually in both modes or by Revolver both at once in both modes.

Yes and no. It stated off as a Japanese only toy line under Takara but none of the toys existed as we know them today. When Hasbro brought them to the US is when they were changed into the designs we know today and given a fiction to coincide with their release. Basically, yes, they were already toys before the Transformers fiction but they weren't Transformers toys. Transformers fiction still came before Transformers toys.

Can any of you give me your honest thoughts on this guy? I keep hearing about shoulder issues etc with this guy but can't find shit about it in any of the video reviews(possibly cause paid off). But I'm thinking of making him my first Third Party purchase, but I don't want my first experience to be shit. As it stands right now it's either him, Mastermind Creations Tarn or Iron Factory Legends Sixshot. Or if anyone has any other good recommendations? I'd preferably like to only spend the $50, but if it's cool I'd go for the $100-$120 price point. I'm just leaning between those three at the moment.
>>
>>6558067
I was the first guy initially bitching in these threads about him. I returned mine, have kept a finger on the pulse with regards to his QC issues, and honestly? It seems like a majority of people have issues with theirs, and the people that get acceptable ones are few and far between. Out of the ones you listed, I'd highly advise Tarn over the alternatives, as his only real issue is his blocky cannon restricting articulation. A simple transformation and imposing figure are all fantastic, but Susanoo is a shitshow on SO many levels, even if you have a perfect copy. His hip ratchets will scrape the ever-living-fuck out of his tread-skirt, and he's surprisingly restricted in posing given his legs can't fucking go backwards at all (no running pose or any serious movement whatsofuckingever, just a lot of arm flailing and spreading of legs, and the illusion of movement if you pivot him forward and balance him on one leg with METAL ON METAL JOINTS, WEW).

Overall I really like him, but his legs kind of suck. They're a complete pain in the ass to transform, and his knees are a pinned joint into (what I'm pretty sure are) die-cast thighs, so they've always been a little loose.

Overall though he looks great, and he's got way above average posability for a MP-alike. Maketoys seems to have made it their mission to throw an ab crunch into everything they make, and I'm onboard.

>>
>>6558067
I may just be an exception to the rule but from what I've been hearing, I've been astoundingly lucky with mine in that he suffers from almost none of the QC issues others have been reporting. Everything tabs in where it's supposed to, everything lines up correctly, and all of the parts are there and assembled correctly. The only real "QC issue" he has is that his turret doesn't hold nearly as strong as the test shot reviews (like Vangelus's) would have you believe. You can't pick him up by his turret and have it hold like the test shot could, HOWEVER, it's also not as loose on mine as many have been reporting. It holds tightly enough that it doesn't pop off just from looking at it funny. Take my experience with a grain of salt however because like I said, I seem to have been lucky and got a near perfect copy.

That all being said, if you do manage to get a perfect copy, he still has some problems inherent to his design but to what degree those problems bother you kinda depends on what you go in expecting. It all stems from his sheer complexity. He has so many small moving pieces that you need to contend with while posing, playing with, or transforming that he can be a bit of a bear to handle. None of his kibble actually inhibits his articulation, it's just that you need to be patient with anything you're doing and learn how each joint moves in tandem with each other to figure out how to avoid making his kibble collide with other pieces. Trust me, any pose you could practically want this guy in IS achievable. You just need learn how everything moves first. Likewise, when posing him, it's still pretty easy to knock something you already posed out of position while trying to get something else where you want it.

Transformation from alt mode to robot mode is actually pretty straightforward for the most part. Going back to alt mode is another story, however as folding everything up and lining it all up correctly is easier said than done.
>>
Terrible showing for MMC at this con.
>>
>>6558261
I assume this isnt the final version and the mustard yellow will be a metallic gold and the blue on the target master will be black or grey.
>>
>>6558303 cont.
All in all, I really like him but I doubt I would have if he suffered the same QC problems so many others have had so buy at your own risk. For most people, he makes a much better display piece than an actual toy but if you're into dexterity puzzles, you may find his more complicated transformation process to be enjoyable and cathartic. If not, you'll likely be frustrated with it. I also got mine as part of the first run that includes the bonus, more skeletal face, which was a boon for me because I honestly don't like his stock face.

One thing that does annoy me about him though is his feet. I don't understand why so much extra engineering needed to be put into them to make them extend and shit. When you fully extend his feet, they look way too wide, but if you leave his toe piece retracted, they look unfinished. I honestly think his feet would have looked better if they weren't as wide and were just a solid piece. It would have also meant one less thing to go wrong, as I hear a lot of folks have been having problems with his feet thanks to those extension joints. I'm honestly too lazy to take pictures to demonstrate what I mean here but if you look up any transformation videos of him, you'll see what I'm talking about.

Thinking of throwing money at BBTS (because I have problems) for Warbot Revolver and Function X Browning. Any words that would steer me clear from that path?
>>
>>6558311
...are they ok? They had an abysmal showing at TFCon Toronto too, it's looking kinda bad on them.
>>
>>6558376
Nothing? It looks exactly like the comic art and I'm super hype for all three. If all their current releases looked that close to the source material they'd have alot more of my money.
>>
>>6557997
Yet they already have a prototype for the Pet that they couldn't have been finalised prior to that reveal in the comics yet they still haven't shown a prototype for Helex who was designed far earlier? Yeah, something doesn't feel right about that.
>>
>>6558408
X-Transbots still looks the best but it's Keith so fuck that.

Looks like FansToys wins the Springer war.

I'm waiting to hear in hand reports but I want him.
Alien Attacks Mirage has my attention as well.

Really, I'd be down for most of the movie cast in 3p MP figures. Jazz, Ironhide, Ratchet in both color schemes, Crosshairs, Drift, TLK Hound, Sideswipe.

I can only dream of perfect movie figures (and an actual decent one from the same universe/aesthetic). Jazz would be easy since the HA exists. Ironhide would be a tough nugget if one were to do him without partsforming the weapons. The focus on Crosshairs would be about his trench coat, Sideswipe on being standable and having snikt blades.

I'd still be hell of a lot more interested on the Decepticons. At least Bonecrusher's getting worked on.

I'm interested in cons but size is a issue for me. Starscream has a perfect release already. I'd be down for Barricade, TLK form preferably. Stinger. Mainly the cars. Really, I'd love Megatron in Rotf and DotM modes, but I'd love to see dotm Megs as just his cab.
Galvatron would be nice as well.
>>
>>6558423
This image shows really well how tiny their legs are compared to the comic art. The shoulders aren't too big, the calves are just way too small. I'm gonna wait for GCreation's.

Probably one of the very few 3P product TT won't be able to top. Look, quality and engineering, everything is there. The knees are a little too high on the legs but it's almost guarantee that an official one would be like this too.
>>
wow, who is this supposed to be?

Considering the quality of their recent releases I'm hyped to see what they can do when they don't have to work around combiner engineering

I still would like some of the DW WWII designs as toys.

Armada demolishor's scratching that itch atm, but the more I see of 3P the more I realise how much better it can be done.

>>

Not defending it because it's fucking stupid they made them hollow on a 3P figure, but because the wings are always facing front in both modes, they did it to save a few nickles on plastic.

So what the hell are these little dudes? Are they going to be replacements for Titan Masters? Or are they just tiny, articulated robots for the hell of it?
>>
>>6559238
Nope. I'd buy a good version of that Optimus, though.
>>
>>6558400
I didn't care for Lockdown's movie design, at all. Boring. But how the hell this toy manages to go from a deluxe car to an actual legitimate sized voyager (not the lanky look of the Lockdown toys) has my very interesting. I hope it's well made.

>Really, I'd be down for most of the movie cast in 3p MP figures. Jazz, Ironhide, Ratchet in both color schemes, Crosshairs, Drift, TLK Hound, Sideswipe.
I would kill for a 3p MP Sideswipe, the ROTF design.

I really hope so. The Titans Masters are alright headmasters but you can't do anything with them besides sitting them on cockpits.

If he is then I'm sold. Give me a military mode Prime who is well articulated and not fuck huge and I'm pleased.
>>

The original ROLLIN' THUNDAH was over THREE FEET of solid American military cock in molded plastic form, though. I think this thing is gonna be MP-sized or something at least.
>>
>>6559428

>>
>>6559428
Seems like they're mostly just proof of concept tiny dudes who will be the basis for any other super teeny transformable guys they need to make. I certainly wouldn't discount Titan Master replacements as a possibility. They'll have a bit of a gab between the legs when folded into Head mode but I'd happily take that sacrifice for the sake of meaningful articulation.
>>
Fuck you. Scramble ruins combiners. Integrated combiner parts is godly. Partsforming kills the legitimacy for many of us.
>>
>>6559628
>"many of us"
who's "us". it's not the fault of everyone else that (you) miss the point of the gimmick-line, and (you) can't handle taking shit apart. what, are (you) some kind of inept fool who expects to lose shit? take care of (you)r toys, faggot.

and I have to pity fags like (you) who can't appreciate the designs of various combiners from the Brave franchise.

I've seen far more combiners/etc trashed by trying to cater to faggots who can't accept accessories being accessories than I'd like to count, so yeah, fuck (you) even without scramble-change gimmicks being considered.

i think they are stacking alot of it in his chest, you can see his legs form the sides of the car and there's 3 or 4 colors you can see in the chest side view
