>>6560217

From the looks of things a weakness of the design is no waist swivel. The generic A-stance every photo has of him looks like there's some sort of leg limitation. The paint only picks out the details and there doesn't look to be a black finish on the thing. Still to get from A to B and look as clean as that is a novelty in and of itself and so long as the Q/C holds up I'm on board.

Those are them. The diecast they have are in their feet, and in the case of Shrapnel, his bug legs too. They're nice, but not without issues. The most glaring is Shrapnel who has a panel on the underside of his arm that folds down so the hands can fold in. After one switch back and forth the pegged portions near his elbow had basically lost most of their tension and his arm has the habit now of flopping down. I've tried getting a little capillary action with floor polish, but it's not entirely fixed.

L I T E R A L L Y U N P L A Y A B L E

Seriously though, does anyone have anecdotes about Unique Toys? My only experiences with 3p so far have been DX9 War in Pocket and Toyworld's Hegemon. If UT doesn't produce QC gamble tripe this is going on preorder. The only things that are scaring me engineering wise are those teeny tiny balljointed fingers, and clear tabs holding his waist together.

Either way I doubt he can be much worse than MPM Prime and I fell for that meme so...
>>
>>6561046
UT is pretty much new, so there's not much that can be said about them until we get their stuff in hand. Their Bruticus is looking pretty good too though.

Ball jointed hands aren't typically a problem if the plastic is good, but clear tabs holding stuff together can be iffy.

Can't be assed to open up the link on normiebook, do they partsform as in he can't go into robot mode with them on, or are they just removable?

I can live with the former, I think. The car looks weird with mirrors anyway, >>6560503 is the first time I ever saw them on.

also
>mfw I got an MPM4 that tabs in pretty much perfectly in either mode
The only problem I have with mine is I can't get all 6 wheels to roll together, but whenever they're plastic wheels that's kind of a given anyway.
>>
>>6561141
>Can't be assed to open up the link on normiebook, do they partsform as in he can't go into robot mode with them on, or are they just removable?

If you've seen the pictures with them as his pinkie toes, that's where they go if you don't take them off. If you don't like them there you can take them off and plug them into his shoulders.

I feel like there was probably enough room to make them fold up into the feet, but whatever.

>>
>>6561675
Same reason Megatron isn't green: it's in the color it's supposed to be and no, it's doesn't hold like garbage. You sound like you haven't handled chromed figures since Beast Wars or something.
>>
>>6561740
>it's doesn't hold like garbage

Tell that to Takara releases lately. I've got 0 confidence in chrome no matter who it comes from. Shit, a thread or two ago an anon here was talking about how his FT Grimlock was getting scuffed up already due to the transformation.
>>
>>6561147
>I feel like there was probably enough room to make them fold up into the feet, but whatever.
Yeah and it's a shame they didn't bother to do this since the rest of the figure is so amazing.
>>
>>6561742
Grinder's Chrome is fine in general, but the wear on his chest is due to how tightly his wings rub up against the chromed surface during transformation. It's just poor design.

The chrome that doesn't rub against anything holds up well, though. It's not like Takara's chrome that just disappears in the box.
>>
why did he skip arm day?
>>
>>6561742
That's bad engineering, replace chrome with colored plastic and you'd still get it scuffed. Anyway, if you don't wanna trust chrome, that's your choice but don't expect any company to make non chromed MP Dinobots, that would be retarded.
>>
>>6561809
Where the hell are his feet??

>implying Takara won't be doing away with all that inaccurate chrome and replacing it with flat yellows and whites when they get to MP dinobots
>implying people won't eat that shit up because it's Takara

I'd say Rager is what a modern Takara Dinobot would look like color-wise, but Takara has been a fan of "white as chrome" with some of their recent releases so don't expect silver paint.

I've actually sold off a lot of third party stuff. Usually not because I hate the toy. Sometimes I was tight for money (Function X headmasters), sometimes I got out of collecting that subline of stuff (got out of WfC/FoC, so I sold off the PX Dinos). Sometimes the fiction soured me on the characters as it went on (DJD).

Fuckin' hell. My MP-11T can't hold that many poses, but at least he looks great in both modes, stands up, and doesn't rattle himself to pieces.
>>
>>6561206
I like how the cockpit chest uses fake parts in conjunction to the real cockpit to achieve the proper look for robot mode.

But yeah, it doesn't seem like a terribly good improvement over MP11. The articulation is much better, but it seems to have just as many problems starting tabbed together and the feet looks pretty much just as bad, with the tilt barely even being there and actually having less of a heel than the MP.

I guess it'll display nicely, but it'll make for an awful desk toy.

Reprolabels are good enough as long as you're using opaque stickers. Transparent stickers always look terrible, that's when you really have no choice but to use some proper decals.

Perfect Effect made targetmaster rumble and frenzies, and all manners of repaints early on. They also have Gorrira jrs.

TFC had 2 packs with Optimus + Rodminus and Megatron + Starscream as targetmaster guns a long while back.

Sidearm and Blesser were standalone kits for FP Protector.

Only Not-Nosecone has a scary transformation.

The only true weak link in the set imo is Not-Lightspeed
>>

I completely forgot about BMOG and I even backed the KS. They were pretty fun.

Honestly if a third party picked up his designs and produced them in normal plastic I'd probably buy almost all of those targetmasters. I especially like the bug guys, but I'm not about that grainy shapeways plastic.

His main flaw is he is very skinny when viewed from the side. Weakest bots are Not-Lightspeed (kibble in inconvenient spots, weakest bot mode) and Not-Nosecone (fiddly as fuck) but the other three are all aces. Not-Scattershot and Not-Strafe are both aces and Not-Afterburner is aight.

Articulation is okay, nothing groundbreaking but then it's an older figure at this point. Where he really comes through is how big he feels when viewed from the front. As far as combiners go these days, he's not particularly large but the aesthetic choices made with the sculpt give the impression of size. Very Super Robot, seems like something meant for large scale firepower in space.

Bot Mode Rankings:
Strafe
Scattershot
Nosecone
Afterburner
Lightspeed

Vehicle mode rankings:
Scattershot
Strafe
Afterburner
Lightspeed
Nosecone

If you leave the canon on Scattershot's back, you'll need to attach the combined mode feet to his legs as thrusters to help him balance.

Most solid modes are combined (which feels very cohesive and very much a single, large robot to me) and vehicles. Mileage on robot modes may vary.

I was the guy who was waffling on him a couple weeks about because do I really need another nemesis prime? As it turns out yes I did, he's amazing. The little dude looks great, and he's probably the best tiny prime I've handled. And I thought I was ready for how flexible the combined mode was, but then I found out he could straight up do Chun-li kicks. He's already in my top 5 third party toys.

If I had to start reaching for flaws, I'd say he really could have used a forwards butterfly joint so he could do arms crossing stuff.

Sweet, very hype! Got Thunder Manus on preorder as well.

>MMC Tyrantron and Calidus
>Maketoys Trashtalk and Rearend + Cyclonus replacement head
>KFC Mugan Scope
Consdering SXS Hot Flame. I only buy a few tfs though, because ouch muh wallet. Also thinking of grabbing a Perfect Effect Warden.
>>
Any upcoming or pre-existing 3P Ratchets? With Tyrantron's relase i'm building a little MTMTE shelf, and a Ratchet seems pretty necessary, but I can't find much in the voyager/CHUG kinda scale.

Figure MMC will get to it eventually, but have I got any 3P options? Most non-3P look...eh.

i really enjoy him, he is great to play with an great to pose. my only problems are i feel like i am missing out on half of his engineering because of all the tabs all over him, let alone the weird ass feet heels he has.

Theres going to be a Legends sized-ish one by the people that made THS Soundwave, who was a pretty solid, cheap as fuck Legends-ish sized Soundwave.

Hobo Spookmeyer on Meteor.

Considering the size of the Hot Soldiers line, he's gonna look beyond adorable sitting next to the bigger mechs. For the price though, I have zero complaints.

Always thought it was weird how few non-rid Ratchet toys are hanging around, and especially how the TR line just had a repainted First Aid. Isn't he still a popular character?

Yeah, I'm really liking the THS Soundwave. Also works great as a boombox (yeah, I know he's not a boombox) for 1/12 stuff too.

He's looking damned good, not perfect but no deal breakers. The way the cockpit transforms is absolute genius.
>>

He’s amazing but I’m actually not so hot on the trailer in Alt mode. The tiny Manus is excellent and fits right in with my iron factory crew though.

Payed almost 50 bucks for these guys and they're leaking plasty-whatever and the paint is sloppy. I should have went 3P for legends seekers. DX9s look great. I hope they make slightly OS Kos...

But I got a sweet lil Waspinator so I got that going for me which is nice

Also got this guy in today and had no idea it came with bonus pink energon cubes. Then I opened ot to find bonus purple cubes. Feels good man.

One complaint is Ironhide and Ratchet are undersized. They're about a head shorter than THS Soundwave. Bumblebee is gonna be TINY.

N-nani!? I need pics of those. Who did you order from that you got those? I didn't hear anything about that.

Plasticizer leakage. One problem that can occur keeping toys sealed in packaging for too long.

Here are the teenie-tiny cubes. I ordered from BBTS. Pink ones came separately like in previous pic. I just randomly found them in my pile of loot. Checked the site and they don't mention the bonus.

Opened the Irontin box and found the purple ones inside. Yet they aren't mentioned anywhere on the box or the instructions. DOUBLE BONUS.

Triple if you count the extra unpainted Ratchet siren that was also included for some reason...
>>
>>6567624
Yeah, what >>6567628 said. I didnt know how to spell it. It's like a slightly sticky residue. Its only on the softer plastics though, the tailfins and the nosecone. Thundercracker looks the worst because the parts are black. Starscream is the best which is ironic considering he's the oldest. Maybe the used a different plastic?
>>
>>6567643

Daaamn. I've been wanting tiny energon cubes for a while. I hope they all come with this.

Where did you order from? I've got one on preorder from BBTS
>>
>>6567997
He's not canceled. He had a price drop to encourage more pre-orders to make it worth a damn to maketoys unless he got canceled a 2nd time.
>>
>>6568009
I bought it from a guy on facebook who picked it up at TFcon. He had to get rid of his tfcon haul because someone screwed him on ebay or something.
>>
>>6568015
Dang. Grats though! How is he? From the reviews I've seen he's fucking amazing.
>>
>>6568016
I wish his hips weren't soft ratchets, and that the ratchets connected to the shoulder-pod sword things were not so tight, but honestly those are totally subjective things. Objectively he's one of the best, if not the best figure I've ever had the pleasure to own.
>>
Just ordered both Meteors.

his crunch isn't strong enough to muster a pelvic thrust relying solely on that joint which is a bummer. But these are transformers, not SAS Jojo figures.

So much damn balance you can stick him on the wall.

Aw, that sucks. Can you at least show how deep it can go?

it's only about 15 degrees of a bend forward. It's enough for what it needs to be, but can't do anything extreme with it.

I find it funny that most people think that MMC was a good company that started releasing shit only recently while in facts, they have been shitty since the very beginning with only a very few lucky figures here and there.
