Welcome and join us in discussing Halo, Destiny, Call of Duty, Assassins Creed, Masters of the Universe, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Star Trek, Futurama, Aliens, Terminator, Pokemon, Power Rangers, Warcraft and all the goddamn licenses of the best toyline of all!

No bricklink for mega though.

Oh man I'm so in on Futurama sets

Some good nycc pics here. http://toynewsi.com/ig.php?mode=album&dispsize=600&album=2017-NYCC%2FMegaBloks&start=0&sl=29867

I agree, thicc usually has to do with the thigh muscles and hips being big.

>>6567478
I dunno, I think all of the figures would be pointlessly non-articulated.

>>6567474
wish they would do Wakfu stuff
>>
>has the license for Hellboy

And I've only even seen one once ever. Life isn't fair.
>>
>>6567341
The first guy was clearly making fun of that mindset, and the second guy never mentioned thicc

Also thicc or not fat girls are cute

>>6567500
I still have hope we'll see Hellboy and probably Abe in the Heroes line someday. It is a brand new line that just started and only just now had its second wave shown off. They can't just release everything cool all at once, unfortunately.
>>
I want more aliens, and the beginning of the predators. An alien hive colony, an alien queen, all the Kenner variations. Limitless potential
>>
>>6567517
Yeah these 2 waves have been pretty close together, i'm optimistic they'll get around to using all the IPs at their disposal if they're able

This is the teela they had on display. Mega is pretty different from Hasbro and other Mattel lines, their prototypes match the release product all the time.

A city theme was announced, so hopefully it will be good stuff and not kiddy. Man, mega construction equipment would be fucking amazing.

Retail stores won't allow the word "hell" on toy packages, and as I recall the Hellboy 2 toys, which they branded "HB" to bypass it, sold like crap anyway because i saw 2/3 of that line shelfwarm hard when it was at normal retail. Stores hate the name because MUH JEEZUS and consumers didn't care for it with a rebranding.

Bah....

This kind of royally fucks over anyone who bought the Star Trek sets from discount chains or shelled out big bucks for the bridge set for Spock.

Would have preferred more Next Generation characters personally. Data, Riker, Worf, or Q.

Beast Man/Teela are good, though I'm kind of shocked we are getting Teela before Man At Arms.

Kind of conflicted though on Futurama though. Figures look nice but they don't fit the tone of the line since Futurama is mainly a comedy and not action oriented.

The decent thing is that you could use Kirk's head with Fry's body to create Lucifer from Supernatural, so Picard can have someone to fight in a court of law

Retailers are very weird and extremely prone to selective bias for things like this. One issue is that not only is the main branding halo, not helljumper, but halo toyline was a long established brand for retailers. You can get away with more of that getting past retailers when using a long time brand and it's just one character.

Also there is the context of it obviously having absolutely zero religious connection, versus hellboy being a demon.

But the biggest to me is also their confidence in the product line. They can be again more willing to let things slide if they think it will sell well enough to offset any potential public issues that might arise.

Hello Mega Construx general, do you know if Mega Bloks have the Futurama license, and if so, for how long? I've tried googling but nothing has come up. Thanks.
>>
>>6572047
Yes they have the license. When it will expire though is likely sealed away in whatever office has the paperwork, and likely won't be available to the general public outside a freedom of information request (and even then only by Mega themselves).

Those Hero figure licenses may become full fledged lines but only if the single figures sell.

Nope. Just stuck them in. The gatling guns fit very tight but the flat pegs of the gun barrels are a little loose, but certainly don't seem to want to fall out. If I make any "finished" ones I'd probably glue them in.

Yeah, Lego makes great sets, but the stylized minifigs just don't do a ton for me anymore. The Star Trek and Alien licenses are definitely a step in the right direction, but Star Wars would just be a perfect fit. I wish Sony would go full Shots Fired and give Mega the license for their Marvel stuff.

Got the Thrall attack pack thing today, their legs were fused to their torsos, lots of broken legs.
>>
>>6574193
Yeah, it's a real shame only one company generally has the license to make a certain type of toy. LEGO Star Wars is iconic and I wouldn't want them to lose the license, but seeing official Mega Bloks Star Wars figures at least would be great
>>
>>6574798
Mega's block builds are below Lego's
Their figures and accessories shit on Lego though. I'd rather they got something smaller scale wuit mid size vehicles like Bladerunner or even the Gits movie with Johanson.
>>
>>6574910
I don't know. Scale-issues aside, most mega vehicles kick Lego's ass in terms of detail and looks. True we've not seen a lot of set pieces builds lately, but with the backing of SW I think they would knock it out of the park.
>>
>>6574910
I don't have a problem with mega's builds I like that they aren't afraid to make specific parts that will only be used once maybe a handful of times, and they like packing in tiny details that you'd never see unless you built the set, case in point the engine on the cabal interceptor, or the engine and drive shaft on the wwII jeep. I also don't mind the brick quality I've never had any QC issuse
>>
>>6572461
If you're still here, how long did it take for you to hear back from them? I still haven't heard anything.
>>
>>6574760
I got one coming in the mail, should I be worried?
>>
>>6574979
They stopped replying to requests and just send the parts. Wait a couple of weeks. They used to send a confirmation email, but they’ve stopped and just send the piece. Ass backwards if you ask me.
>>
>>6575066
Just don't mess with the legs if they don't budge. I'll steep the one whose legs are just stuck but not broken in hot water to loosen and post results later tonight. Only one of their legs was pre-broken. I have another one headed my way too, hopefully that one's thrall are ok
>>
>>6574920
I'm not convinced a lego tie fighter would be much improved made out of mega bloks.
Their large builds are ok. But anything small to medium is mostly trash and rubble.
Monster High Megas have great figs but their sets are terrible.
This is where they ought to be making modular rooms to create a dollhouse or something.

>>

Why not 12? And get a fuck ton of black figs
>>
>>6577390
I still wonder why they made the COD line a different scale from their other brands.
>>
>>6570789
Mega has always had a pretty good, original art design even back in their shitty days; I've always felt that their themes had more personality and detail than simply being generic pirate, fantasy, space etc. archetypes.
This only makes it more ironic nowdays that they owe their success to licensed products.

Unfortunately, it does seem that probuilder is the best thing theyve ever had regarding non military themed products (even then most probuilder was military stuff).
That being said, they really fill every niche Lego doesnt. They are quite good for making mocs with; keeping in mind camo colours will restrict you to military/ space builds. Contrary to the stereotype of mega bloks using large premade pieces; mega bloks sets these days come with a ton of small, basic pieces which can be mixed with specialized pieces (only the larger specialized pieces like a vehicle roll cage or a banshee cockpit truly has poor utility) for great effect.
>>
>>6571776
Some Mega Bloks Russian tanks (from the first black ops or something) would be amazing. for some reason, with the Fox and the Land Rover, Mega Bloks have made a couple of UK stuff that were never in the games in the first place. (not complaining though)
>>
>>6577638
It was the line to introduce the new action figures. If anything, it is the original.
>>
>>6577382
I like their white bricks and any white call of duty figures but for everything else, white mega bloks stuff has a weird creamy and bright look.
>>
>>6577678
Then why mae Destiny in the same scale? If anything they should have beefed up the other lines, or scaled down the COD line
>>
>>6577680
They didn't want to change Halo's scale because it would trigger a bunch of autists into boycotting.

Any Aussie folks bothered by the inconsistent stock of mega bloks stuff in stores?

I have also noticed that the larger sets cost just as much as equivalent lego sets. So much for price advantage; at least these larger sets tend to have details more intricate than their lego counterparts.
>>
>>6577770
I've found a place that sells the damn jackrabbits for 6 Aud; needless to say, I bought two of them.
>>
>>6577776
Buy online, works out for most stuff I'm paying retail or just above. Even then barely any of the newer stuff gets shipped our way (at non-scalped-to-shit-prices)
>>
>>6577791
Or most of the available sets for that matter, clicking the international shipping filter on Amazon is just depressing
>>
>>6577791
From what Ive seen online, it either sells out or yes; is scalped to shit. I have seen the anti armour helicopter at an EB games for 120 aud; online it would cost that much without any shipping or taxes ;(
I guess im gonna try and wait it out and get it on a sale.

I have bought the Fox, Arctic jeep and Icarus troopers online for an acceptable price.
>>
>>6577803
I've been buying a ton online, only way I've been able to get my mits on TMNT, Trek and other sets that I haven't seen in Aussie shops

>>
>>6577832
Classic TMNT I should have said, the Nick Turtles sets didn't really grab my interest. Big W is usually alright but I haven't seen anything new, just the same rotation of sets they've had for the past 6 months
>>
