Heads up, ebay is offering a coupon code for 20% off collectibles, max discount $50.00. US only, code is good through Oct. 9th.

Use code PROMONYCC at checkout.

What's nice about this coupon is that pretty much every mecha toy is in the "collectible" category. My suggestion; use it on a Metal Build 00! There are sellers offering it for around $250.00, so it'd be just $200.00 after discount.

I can never get these codes to work. They only seem good for luggage and blenders from like a select list of sellers. I tried it on a RD Dom and it didn't work.
>>
>>6568017
you are talking about a different code. the one on the front ebay page is PCOLUMBUS2017 , which is the one you are trying to use on TOYS. that one does not work on toys.

Picked it up as well; that low-vis scheme plus unique delta wing design is too good. Also managed to randomly secure a Metal Composite Wing Custom preorder at mykombini. Was going to post it earlier, but it had already switched back to sold out again.

You can pop the head lasers off (the second pair included is for in fighter mode with them pointing forward together, rather than angled apart for battroid) to help with getting the head through if you need to. I actually got mine through just fine by rotating the head in the right direction, angling the lasers to face the same direction, and easing it through.

>>6568298
You're in for what's probably Bandai's best all-around valk/super part release thus far. Excellent paint apps with matte finish for both the valk and its supers, solid and sturdy in wall modes (first DX Chogokin with ratcheting hip joints!), fairly straightforward transformation with no real scary parts, and super parts that attach securely yet remove easily.

Two gripes; first, there tends to be some gapage behind the cockpit in fighter/gerwalk, and second, the articulated hands can't form a fist because they need to lay flat in fighter (of course, you do get a wide selection of swappable fixed-pose hands, including fists).

With the array of things that can go wrong with a valk release, that's a happily small, unimportant list of gripes, haha.

Cheers for the in-hand pics, anon. Paint scheme looks nice, but I definitely feel you on your issues with the valk. While I've generally had good luck QC-wise with my Bandai stuff, I've had a couple issues recently.

Tangentially related, I recently picked up Figuarts Chun-li, and while I love the figure, the quality of the paint apps are subpar. Like the wings on your Messer VF-1, the gold trim along Chun's skirt is pretty sloppy among other small issues with the paint. Not to mention the ding on my Metal Build 00's right thigh, heh. In both cases though, the strength of the base figure is enough for me to overlook those issues. Always sucks when you're not thrilled with something AND it had QC issues.

I'm definitely looking forward to how the Hi-Metal line advances with the VF-2SS's release.

>>6569364
Yeah, if you don't have something specifically in mind, it can be tough to find something that's enticing AND at a fair price. Even for me, I didn't really get a deal as the coupon only saved me from paying the late-tax on Exia, heh.

>>
>>6568570
Seems to be the case. What do we have for the first movie, some shitty NECAs, a model kit from Bandai, and the really expensive Soul of Chogokin. Fuckin' hell, it's 4 main robots and a couple of monsters, it's not like we need a line that's gonna last 3 years.

The best designs are the non-main robots though including Coyote
>>
>>6569466
I have that Chun-Li too and while I do like the figure a lot, I agree the paint could be cleaner. SHFs are really becoming a quality crapshoot right now.

It doesn't entirely come across in the photos of that Valkyrie, but where the airbrake meets the trapdoor for the Battroid mode head, the grey paint isn't masked to the edge on either part AND there's a tolerance issue so that there's always a tiny gap between both - the net effect is there's always a messy band of white breaking up the grey back of the plane. A small detail, but still annoying.

If you're interested, that's the safest move. Web exclusive Macross stuff generally shoots up in price after release. You get some exceptions here and there, but as >>6569657 points out, a design as attractive as the 31A probably won't be one of those exceptions, haha.

>>6569659

Right, gonna need to go backwards after I'm done here with delta but someone tell me, what, exactly is the history behind the vf31a, am I right thinking its a mass production unit aka cannon fodder unit because it ain't as frilly as the other planes I've seen so far.

According to what I could find easily online, roughly 15.3m tall in battroid, roughly 19.3m long in fighter mode. And yes, the 31A is a MP version.

The biggest detractor is her articulation, particularly how shite her legs are due to that skirt but the paint/sculpt is very nice, if you're just getting her to display with your Siegfried's then she'll be fine for you sitting on a shelf since she really is best just for looking at. If you do get Mikumo make sure to get Freyja to go with her, I didn't check to see if she's on sale but she's cute as a button. Honestly I'd have preferred the white/black outfits from the second half of Delta, I feel those lend themselves better to a figure of this scale than the initial Walkure designs, even if I prefer the colours of these ones.

PO'd Guardian Bravo and Saber Athena. Probably been asked before but why are these so cheap?
>>
>>6575219
Probably because BANDAI might cut corner on these line, they look rather cheap on paint side
>>
>>6575219
Despite the repeated fears of them cheaping out on something, it mainly just seems to be them aiming for specific price points for sale in the US and relying on sheer efficiency of scale in production numbers to keep costs down per unit.

Speaking of "why so cheap?!" the TRI stuff seems to have started coming out. According to Nuu the paint didn't actually suffer much. http://blog.livedoor.jp/hacchaka/archives/52013886.html
>>
>>6575295
The TRI stuff looks pretty much fine to me. On par with RDs from before prices started spiraling out of control. Bicep/thigh swivels are the only things I'd care about that it might not have. Awesome, thanks for the lowdown, anon! Freyja does look super cute and I'll look into getting her as well. I actually never finished Delta so I'm not familiar with their second half outfits. Think I googled some; they seem to have black shorts instead of frilly skirts? Would certainly have worked much better for a figure.
>>
the GM Cannon is perhaps the best of all RD's when it comes to kneeling. It is really good at kneeling. In fact it seems to have quite a few advancements in articulation.. likely to make up for the cannon blocking it's ability to turn it's head. For example the cockpit is articulated to allow the right side of the chest to rotate inwards (even more than normal) without the cockpit getting in the way. It also seems to have some gnarly ab crunch..and also a little bit of rotation in the ab area as well.

There's also these trap door style things behind the knees that push inward when bending the knee to give the figure a wider range of motion in the legs.. which is good for kneeling.

I just wish they hadn't put that dumbass trademark info on the small of it's back like they did with the regular GM. It's not even tiny like most of those things are.. it's friggin printed on there in huge letters and is an eyesore.
>>
>>6576048
* that would be right side of the chest from our perspective facing it. From the GM's perspective it's the left side. The side that the cannons not on to make it simple.

As an aside, I'm not as well versed in all this MSV stuff than I should be, why are there two seperate muzzles for the cannon?
>>

>I just wish they hadn't put that dumbass trademark info on the small of it's back like they did with the regular GM.

Magic eraser is your friend, anon.
>>
>>6576057
I'm not super knowledgeable on MSV either, but I think they just changed the cannon design at some point. So they gave both for whatever you prefer.
>>
>>6575219
Mono color, simplified but effective articulation, less need for finish/ thanks to simple designs and color schemes
>>
>>6576057
>>6576144
In MSV there's the standard GM Cannon which they made the RD of, and there's the North American Front version, which has a light grey/smokey blue color scheme and a different muzzle for the cannon with notches in it. Otherwise the designs are the same, so they included the aternate muzzle with the RD.
>>
>>6576255
Whoops, got a little confused. It's actually the North African Front GM Cannon that had the notched-muzzle, and instead a tan and brown color scheme.
>>
>>6576048
>For example the cockpit is articulated to allow the right side of the chest to rotate inwards (even more than normal) without the cockpit getting in the way. It also seems to have some gnarly ab crunch..and also a little bit of rotation in the ab area as well.

That's nothing new. the regular GM has the same features.

>Think I googled some; they seem to have black shorts instead of frilly skirts? Would certainly have worked much better for a figure.
Yeah that's them, I'm not too bothered about those now after seeing these new movie designs. These fucking do things to me.
>>
>>6575470
Not sure on the TRI ones, maybe a little? Could just be due to the designs they chose to start the line with. The Pacific Rim ones are actually taller than normal, if anything. Average size seems to be around 6 and a half inches tall.
>>
>>6576255
>>6576263
Lineart wise, only the North African Front one has the notched muzzle. Merchandise wise, both the 1/14 and MG use the notched one. Even the RD defaults that one in most pics.

Good to hear! I love RDs that are good at taking a knee, and it's particularly handy for support type mecha like the GM Cannon. The Ingrams are some other recent RDs that stood out to me as very good kneelers, though instead of a trapdoor the Ingram has a mechanism where the back of the lower leg depresses to allow more range.

Heck, most of the ANIME line has been quite accomplished at hitting those kneeling poses.

Also, Acguy is looking good/adorable:

Yeah, I was really on the fence about Acguy before I saw the review. Now I'm sold and will probably order one this week. Heh.
>>
>>6578761
Yeah coming out in February, it'll be a retelling of Delta like the Frontier movies so hopefully it'll fix the pacing issues of stretching 13 episodes into 26. Promising new songs and enhanced battle sequences so I'm hoping for better dogfights between the VF-31 and the SV-262.
>>

Is 00 slightly shorter than Exia or is it just me?

Acguy looks great but man the arms are really stubby here. I mean I know that's the design and it's lineart accurate but I think this is one time where I like the MSIA proportions better. also the fact that the extension arm doesn't bend sucks.
>>

Beargguy III ANIME when?
>>
>>6579007
They just look like gunpla now. But with stronger joints.
>>
>>6578827
They're both officially 18.3 meters at head height, but 00 is almost always slightly shorter than Exia in merchandise.
>>
>>6579068
I wouldn't expect it at all, though we might get the agguguy.

>>

Looking it up, the head height for both Gundams is 18.3 meters, so the same height. This might count the OO's V-fin, so maybe its supposed to be slightly shorter than the Exia?

QanT Mo Show, because, well, today is good day here and I would like to contribute with something in this thread. Even with the arrival of Bandai ver, I'm pretty happy to have bought this copy because it's really full of gimmicks.

I don't get why people keep pretending the pacing was the only shitty thing about Delta. It was terrible from the very start.

Nice meme
>>
>>6580273

Nah, it's true. After the first few episodes it went to shit.
>>
>>6580181

you have to be mentally disabled to think Delta was good after 3 episodes
everything was terrible
the only good thing to come out of that mess was the VF-31A thank you very much

here's also a video of an On Hand Experience of Gipsy and NYCC

Now that we know that the arm it has is the listed "Gravity Sling" I'm worried Gipsy wont come with the plasma caster arm

Every time I see this sort of shitpost in response to a natural statement about Delta, it's always from some clueless millennial who hasn't seen the original Macross and outright refuses to because it's "old".

Why are you people even into the mecha genre if you refuse to watch the era where the genre was at its absolute prime?
>>
>>6582830
>Implying
>"muh millenials boogeyman"
Fuck off.
I've seen the original SDF mate, one of my favourite shows.
SDF = DYRL > 7 > Plus > Delta = Zero > Shit > Frontier
I enjoy Delta for Freja and Hayate primarily, the SV-262 is pure sex and it reminds me of 7 which is only second to SDF for me.
It slowed down after the first few episodes but it didn't outright go to shit until episode 11 or so.

Nice projecting. I've seen the original years ago and I still like Delta. It has it's problems but it's not an awful show by any means. Stop pretending it ruined the franchise.
>>
>>6571607
Yes it's cannon fodder. Like the old brown VF1s.
