Will be my guess. You can make him muscular looking and still be modern enough.
Maybe they want to wait until Bandai gets done with their Iron Man rush.
>>
So how often have they updated the actual revoljoints? I know from people complaining that they were REAL shitty back around the queens blade stuff, but I just swapped out the hips and knees on my eva 08 with the new spares that came with an assemble borg because I noticed they have about twice as many clicks.
>>
>>6574646
She could happen the same way they did Gwen. Nobody really knows who she is but she's clearly a female version of Spider-Man. They'll for sure make a Hulk, then potentially make She-Hulk because all you need to know is she's a female Hulk and that could be enough for a good enough sale.
>>
i wanna get venom but he looks kinda clunky
>>
>>6574658
How often? Technically the 6mm ones have 4 versions, the bigger single ones 2 versions, 8mm double never changed, and for 4mm you could say 2 if you include the joints from Revol Mini. But that makes thing even more complicated haha.

Current, increased ratchets versions started during the Legacy run, at about Black Getter release, whenever that was.
>>
>>6574658
For when it was, I'm pretty sure the first was with AB Nexus when it was just on Kaiyodo's store. Then with the Legacy series around end of 2014, 2015 for sure. For the current increased ratchet joints that is. Which are being replaced more and more with ratchetless Revol Mini joints anyways.

>>
>>6574867
For the future, where do you order them from? All I know are Amazon and bbts.
>>
>>6574881

I usually use HLJ if I need something Japanese. Never tried amiami, but some people use them. I always shop around though, never stick to just one site. Sometimes you can find shit for cheaper on Amazon or something, so never disregard them, but generally, for a newly released figure thats Japanese, you're gonna have to import it yourself.

Biggest exception to that rule I've seen lately is the SHF wrestling figures. The Rock and Stone Cold have both hit like $20 at times on Amazon since release, and usually bounce between $20-35 or so.
>>
>>6574879
You could buy one of the Assemble Borgs and get some spare 6mm joints. Or buy one of the ball/sphere joints pack made by Hobby Base. No clicks but the dimensions are the same as Revolver joints.
>>
>>6574881
Always check amiami, and hobby link japan for new stuff. Mandarake for "second hand stuff" second hand usually means the box has a minor imperfection. There are other stores of course but most people here shop on the first two I mentioned. Personally I've used amiami and mandarake.

None of the poses are utilizing the moving side pieces of the body. Using them effectively can make things better, but they probably didn't do that for the sake of keeping the chest all lined up nicely.
>>
>>6575321
Thanks!

Are there any other methods that don't involve removing the straps?
>>
>>6574622
Thiccccccccc
>>
>>6575341
You can probably heat and reshape/pinch them a bit. I think you'd still have to trim some plastic off the hip sockets though; that was the main thing keeping them from going completely straight down
>>
>>6575019
Fuck, not this again.

>>6575057
>>6575321
No No No. DO NOT CUT THE STRAPS!

Yes the strap are not the problem at all. They are soft enough not to interfere with the actual posing. You can get about that close with no modification, just the right positioning.

THE ACTUAL ISSUE is the thick hip pegs of the ball joint hitting the outer ridge of the leg sockets. >>6575321 Has the right idea you need to change the socket and or peg.

>>6575019
Again, DO NOT CUT STRAPS. All that does is damaging a perfectly good revoltech.

Two things you can try. Posing it better. Twist the thigh pieces outwads, then the shines back to forward position. That can look like the legs are closer, you might have to bend the knee joint one click to look straight.

Another way is to enlarge the socket ridge of the leg that hits the ball joint's poll. Do that either by warping plastic with heat, squeeze the legs closer. Or cut chunks out. But be careful not to lose too much that the hip tension becomes poor and loose.

Straps are not the problem!
And even then the best you can do is like legs straight down before it looks stupid.
>>
>>6575341
Don't cut anything!

>>6575353
Yes that's the better way, learn from your mistake.Your pic is doable without any actual modifications.
>>
>>6575361
how do I remove the straps? I can't figure out to remove the legs.
>>
>>6575371
What? what part of don't cut straps didn't go through?

You don't need to remove straps.

The legs, you need to pop them out. Heat it up with hair dryer to make it softer for that.

Try the posing method, thighs outward shines back inwards. You can make the legs look straight that way.

If You don't like that try heating then squeezing the legs closer to warp the sockets.
>>
>>6575354
>>6575377
I don't know why I keep putting e in there.

>>
>>6575354
>Another way is to enlarge the socket ridge of the leg that hits the ball joint's poll. Do that either by warping plastic with heat, squeeze the legs closer. Or cut chunks out. But be careful not to lose too much that the hip tension becomes poor and loose.

look m8, i appreciate your trying to help but can you spell a bit better? I'm more confused than anything.

So is this what you're saying?:

>Enlarge the socket ridge of the leg that hits the ball joint's POLE. This is achieved by either warping the plastic with heat then squeezing the legs closer, or by cutting out chunks of plastic (trimming? Shaving?). But be careful not to lose too much that the hip tension (friction?? tension??) becomes poor and (the leg becomes?) loose.

Oh, yeah. I love my two Snakes. I just wish that Raiden was in scale with them.
>>
>>6575407
I see what you mean now. I tried that but the lower legs won't face forward properly.

Do you think heating up the straps and pushing them closer together and/or shaving part of the thigh would help?

Also, while we're talking about modifications, how can I make his gun hand tighter? I know about heating it up but when I try that on other figures it just goes back to normal when it cools.
>>
>>6575415
lol yeah all good. Tension does imply something other than friction though. Although it probably only stood out to me that much due to currently working in a lab. Tensile strength is normally what is referred to when saying 'tension' - bending, stretching etc. Friction is when two surfaces shear against each other.
>>
>>6575428
The knee joints have to be positioned in a odd way to get it right. Like almost sideways, with a few clicks of bending.

Yeah try heating and getting the straps in a way that they aren't hitting anything. I'm just not a fan of cutting pieces off due to a point of no return mistake. And I haven't tried it myself.

The hand, squeeze after heating and try keeping it that way for a while.

The trick is when putting the gun in the hand. Try it just with the separate hand piece, not connected to the wrist joint and arm.

Find that sweet spot that the hand just slides into the right position without stretching the fingers open. That way the hand can maintain a firm grip.

>>6575450

yeah the wrists and toes are definitely a weak point of this figure (literally, too). Would have liked to see MGS2 raiden in this scale too.
>>
>>6575446
Mmm hard to say or show without a video perhaps.

With the separated hand piece, slide the grip into the open space between the fingers and the thumb. From the bottom. Now you should have the hand all the way up the grip, but the wrist hole is on the wrong side of the ammo clip. Fiddle the hand around until you find the right position that the entire hand can slide over to the other side of the clip, wrist hole on the outer side of the clip, where it needs to be.

This way you're not forcing anything and the fingers can stay closed and have a firm hold.

I like watching those "Stuff you may not know about Japan" Youtube videos. Because I have the other reaction of people don't know that?

Depends a bit where you're going, assuming it's Tokyo. Speaking English right away to ask some random person for help will get their defense up. They don't want to screw up speaking English and get nervous, conversation goes nowhere. Try speaking simple Japanese words first to ease them in, then simple slow words.

Just bow, don't put your hands together like you're praying because no one does that.

Avoid rush hours. Hands visible and up at all times in trains because of the slight chance some bitch says you groped her. Not joking better safe than sorry. Keep wallet and phone safe though. Get a skim card thing to protect your cards from getting scanned. You never know.

Watch those Youtube videos they're fun to watch. Enjoy all the toy shopping.

I think they charge you way too much for shipping. I bought manga a few times and it was not worth it. I think they don't have SAL options at all, has to be EMS. More articulation is always fun though. Do you hate fun? And the amount of movement in an actual space suit would be much greater than a chunky figure so having some creativity to increase articulation only brings the figure closer to how it should be.

its target demographic is dedicated fans, they're not expecting to ship and sell the usual amount of an average figure so less of them are produced and the price needs to be higher
>>

Yeah it's like twice as much as regular figures of their scales. Simple calculation they made half as many? Is that how it works?

It feels risky being so strong on a mascot character for a game still years away from release. But with this price they only need to sell very few of them I suppose.

Yeah I hope that shit face or character choice didn't discourage future heroines. Kaiyodo is usually good at hearing the voice of their customers. Well when the CEO doesn't go off into his own hobbies.

Actually retarded. While Silk and Anya don't have that well know street cred, much less in Japan where they are fucked on TL's but you can fuck right off if you think Black Cat wouldn't sell more. Especially in comparison to a meme character from one of the worst Spidey events since one more day.
Spidey's most iconic female villain/anti-villains wouldn't sell as well in comparison, sure.

>>
>>6576557
I don't see Black Cat selling outside of fans who knows anything about the comics. Design wise there's nothing there, just some lady with white hair, fur and black suit. She shows off her cleavage. Without the name you don't really get the cat theme. It wont catch the eyes of the average toy collector when there are several female action figures that are in black skin tight suit.

I too think a classic Spider-Woman would've been better, but I can't fault Kaiyodo for going for Gwen instead.

It's the same reason why I don't want to see Black Widow released to fill the female slot of the Avengers. Visually I think it's boring, not enough there to warrant making a Revo.
>>
>>6576160
It's $61 BEFORE shipping senpai
Minimum shipping is like, 10 bucks
>>
>>6576590
I think it would've been cool, for sure, but then I also remember that Black Cat's had a couple of costumes and that same fact put a lotta folk on the fence over Wolverine recently. Gwen was a pretty safe choice seeing as she's mostly known for one pretty sweet costume.
Like, if we got an AY that takes after Black Cat's current look I probably wouldn't be a fan.
>>
>>6576592
I think you can only homage something that's, um, iconic? Big, well know, beloved, a classic? Raiden is not quite there.

I only find it interesting. Not mad about it or something like that.
>>
>>6576628
>I think you can only homage something that's, um, iconic? Big, well know, beloved, a classic?
hom·age : special honor or respect shown publicly

Your whole "iconic" thing is your own weird hangup. Homages don't have inherent rules attached. I can do a drawing that includes a nod to some obscure Norwiegan series that never made it past the pilot, and that still counts as an homage.

Also, Raiden IS quite well known in the gaming world--first for being hated, then the shocking reveal as a cyborg, and eventually for being the protag of an excellent and well-loved action game.
>>
>>6575548
It scales well, but doesnt fit very securely in his hands.

>>
>>6576478

>>
>>6576640
I mean to homage something and get away with it as respecting the source that source should be big, or they said they did it knowingly.
Otherwise it's going into that poor imitation, unoriginal design territory. Copying other's works and pushing it as their own. If everyone sees it, Raiden is well known enough, then there's no real problem.

I think they could've changed some design elements to make it a bit more original if all they want is a cyborg ninja, that's all.

It would've been funny if somehow they got Yamaguchi to sculpt that figma.

Same Anon from earlier asking about Venom Snake.

I did the hairdryer mods for the hand and strap.

The hand was a resounding success, works perfectly.

The waist was mixed.

On one hand, the closed straps work perfectly. He can stand with his legs perfectly closed, no issue. On the other hand, the uper thigh swivel is a bit lose. Since it won't open, I don't know what kind of joint it is so I can't get in. What kind of joint am I dealing with, and how can I tighten it back up to create the perfect Venom?
>>
>>6576688
>but Gwen was the logical thing to do because she's currently on the public eye and Marvel definitely said that they wanted her over any other

I won't doubt she was pushed by Marvel, but if she was pushed by Marvel, why her and not Marvel's poster girl for unwanted female characters that no one cares about: Carol Danvers? Or were they somehow lucid enough, just this once, to realize not a single person on this planet gives a shit about her and went for a character that could at least serve as waifu bait?
>>
>>6576688
Logical choice wasn't the best choice. Black Cat is a classic character and would have been a safer choice. You're just concentrating on current Marvel and completely forgetting it's history. If they were just concentrating on current runs we would've gotten an X-23 Wolverine, and while I would like to see that, I know for a fact that she wouldn't sell as well as Logan. The classics are classics for a reason, Spider-Gwen was just flavor of the month and they bought into the meme.

>>
Would the revoltech wolverine fit in with jim lee x-men characters like the Toybiz ML cyclops? Or should I rather wait for the new ML tiger stripe wolverine?
>>
>>6574631
Literally if they would leave the mouth in the same tone as the entire face like Wolverine, it would be infinitely better. Now it looks like he just ate ass and is embarassed by it.
>>
>>6577765
They tend to go easier on the paint for the final mass produced version. Because I believe these product photos use a special version of the figure that some painters at Kaiyodo painted themselves. I think it will be like Wolverine for the paint job of the final product. It's another matter if you don't like the sculpt of the mouth.

What the fuck do you even mean by this? Define meme, because it seems like your understanding of the word is that it's some vague catch-all term for internet jokes

You could probably make a custom out of venom

The helicopter one really stuck with me. Along with a shotgun one.
Remember my friend printing out a ton of pictures from there and bringing them to school, definitely a weird moment.

Matt?

Pretty good if you're just looking for a really posable robot. the one thing that bothers me is that he doesn't have an independent head joint. You can't pitch his head without moving his whole neck, which means he can't bend down too far and still look up naturally.
>>
>>6577463
What? I barely read capeshit and even I know Deadpool started as an excuse for Rob Liefeld to keep making Deathstroke comics.

Man, should the release version of this have the basic head with such a shitty line on the mouth, what would be the best way to remove it?

I really like the rest of this figure, but man the basic head being gimped that bad is pretty good deterrent. The unmasked head is one of my favorite parts of this particular AY, but I wouldn't want to act as the primary I have to use becausw the regular head looks a comedic alternative faceplate rather than the main head. I'd argue this is worse when toy companies make the basic face of a figure one that is stuck looking off into a certain direction rather than straight forward. At least, at the end of the day, you can work with that.
>>
>>6576590
Not really.
First off Yamaguchi can't into human faces.
Just look at Cap for example.
Second off Black Cat is visually dull.
I like the character but visually she just reads as slutty lady and as an AY figure she would be a deformed slutty lady.
She also wouldn't sell well since most casuals probably don't know who she is in the SJW era.
>>
>>6574631
the more i look at this the shittier the non screaming heads look because of the shit stained mouth
>>
>>6577424
Movie casuals.
I would love things like Taskmaster, Nova, Annihilus, and plenty of other B/C-listers but it's not gonna happen unless they play a major part in a movie.
>>
>>6577706
I'd love to but I'm going to be away from my collection until next Friday. Ask again then.

If you want to try yourself in the meantime than please do. Just remember, when heating up the legs only heat up the strap. Heating the leg joints is what loosened up mine I think. Nothing floor polish can't fix, but save yourself the trouble. Once you heat up the strap, Hold the legs tightly together with a monkey wrench and pet it cool in a refrigerator. When it's done, the straps will stick together and you won't be restricted by them anymore. If you want to do the hand, heat it until it is hot and malleable, then put a heavy hard and flat object on top of the bottom 3 fingers and let it cool in the refrigerator.

Hope this helps.

The ‘Legacy of Revoltech’ reissues have better joints.

You could also just buy new Revoltech joints to replace the bad ones.

Cattleya has a Legacy, so long as you get that version her joints will be fine. It's the non-Legacy ones that'll probably have shit joints, as the QB line was around half over (or more) before they started using their new joints. So some of the original QB's do have new ones, but never the earlier ones in the line unless it's a Legacy re-release.

Sigui, for example, has the newer joints (or should, anyway) as she was released after the change over to the better joints, but Menace never would as she was an early release AND never got a Legacy.

If you wanna get super technical there were some reissues of QB before Legacy which shit joints ones got the better 2 piece hinge 6mm joints. But it's impossible now to tell when buying those QB which edition they are.

Spide-Gwen's body is pretty lewd too, if you don't care about having a (good) face. Good curves and crotch-and-ass-tech. Might be the cheapest option right now.

My Guver 3 is probably the tallest figma I have ever handled and definitely one of the tallest in the entire line, and he's still looks like a short twinkboy next to Revo DP. And Revo spidey is around same height.

As a parody of Deathstroke, hence the over the top violence and jokes which are basically meme incarnate.

Even Gwenpool at least has an explanation for the fourth wall breaking.
>>
>>6579353
Deadpool when he first appeared didn't really have any of that. He was literally just a generic mercenary who existed to allow Liefeld to keep drawing Deathstroke.

He gradually grew into the parody he's known for over time, but it's not like he started out in New Mutants 98 memeing and breaking the fourth wall.
>>
>>6579318
I thought they might reissue him because Movie Revo is one of the 5 brands included in their Revoltech Reboot idea. To reissue revoltechs in their "catalog" constantly.

But it doesn't look like it happened the way I thought, or how they described it. They have reissued at least one item per brand in someway except for Movie Revo, so there might be hope. I think it's stupid not to bring Ultron back now.
>>
>>6579339
They're more expensive because everything are more expensive.

Some are slightly different with contents. 13 has parts previously included with 08b. I think the orbit equipment 02b will have the correct arms included this time. Basically option parts that were spread across different Evas will be packaged with the correct Evas.

Does Kaiyodo offer a parts-replacement service similar to what GSC has? This is because my Wolverine's claws came pre-shortened right out of the box. Not broken, but actual molding defects that made some claws shorter than they should've been.

I don't think they have one setup for international customers since they only have a phone number to call. You should try contacting the store you bought it from and let them deal with it.
