I picked up Nanachi's scale and went full furfag this month because of it. Picked up this and a garage kit from alice-books.

Other than that, this month's amiami order was the Gourai desktop army set, the MP5 Little Armory kit, and 2 session bases.

These came today, sorry for the bad quality. Two of my subscription boxes came today but there was no figures in them besides a funko and a reptar chocalate bar plush in the other but will show pics if requested.

Of the four SF blind boxes I've gotten, three were Blanka--he's extremely easy to find because he's the heaviest (I was looking for the Hyperfighting variant). He's also the most fun of any of the little dudes I have on my desk right now since his extremely long arms give him a lot of versatility.
Also of note: The Street Fighter figures have knee joints unlike the TMNT, GiJoe, and MOTU releases. The TMNT figures have really nice accessories with working scabbards, super tiny arrows, and good paint apps.

Post pics of Sonico.

I wanted her when she was first announced but 10k for a tiddymonster mascot is too much.
>>
>>6623680

Agreed, 10k was too much, but she’s 8.5k on Mandarake.
>>
>>6623680
I just bought sonico from a fella in the BST a day ago. How is she?
>>
>>6623711
>>6623761

Some first impressions:
She looks great but I’m glad I didn’t pay the full price. The plastic feels cheaper than Figma or SHFiguarts and the articulation isn’t as smooth. She doesn’t have ankle rockers and the tiny hand pegs are terrifying, luckily the hands are rubbery so you probably won’t break them. Trying to het her on her bike holding both handles is almost as frustrating as tryin to put Ripley in the power loader.
>>
>>6623831

Correction: she does have ankle rockers.
>>
>>6617413
That's, uh... that's got a bulge there, anon.
>>
>>6623831
So you think she was worth the 80 bucks? I really think the bike is awesome, too. Hope some of my shf or figma can ride it.
>>
>>6624140

I don’t know that any toy is ever worth that much. On the other hand it’s a set that does consist of a figure and a complex transforming vehicle, so it’s not like 8.5k Yen is crazy.
I’ll say I like having the set in my collection but I would’t pay anything more for it.

First haul I've showed off in a while, mostly because the shit I buy ends up staying boxed due to lack of display space.

Couldn't resist opening Jango, £49.99 well spent.
Picked up a third Mafex Stormtrooper loose on eBay last month. Added the pauldron from the SHF Last Jedi first order trooper (only bought him for the pauldrons) Still haven't opened Mafex Vader.
Also got a bunch more still waiting to see the light of day; Mafex Shore trooper, SHF sand hater Anakin with bonus angery face, and a couple of black series Stormtroopers to bolster my ranks.

Oh wow, how the fuck are you doing conversion? Do you have it set up so that paypal is handling it, or is it your card? Because that conversion lost you about £3.

I let Paypal handle it since I'm pretty sure the one time I didn't it somehow ended up costing more, and my bank charged me a fee for a non-pound sterling transaction. I don't mind paying an extra £3 for my laziness, it's Figma prices that are fucked.

>>6638198
They're good, really good. My problem is buying the same character from different companies (I have four Vaders not including the 40th anniversary Black Series).

The army builders are pretty cheap, Stormtroopers and Clones are usually about 3000-4000 yen which is roughly £20-25, you'd pay that for a Black Series figure in Forbidden Planet.
>>
>>6638661
Jeez bud, you've got to find a better bank, and stop letting Paypal do conversion. They'll always low ball you by several yen, which adds up in our hobby. By the end of the year you're essentially tossing away a full figure's price in low balled conversion rates. Have you tried setting up your card itself as the fund provider, and not the bank account? It might kick back so that Visa (rather than your bank) is the one that handles conversion and uses their rates, which are almost always exactly the current market rates.
>>
>>6638673
>Have you tried setting up your card itself as the fund provider, and not the bank account?

To be honest with you I have no idea how to do any of that.

I don't buy enough figures for it to be a huge deal breaker. And I buy most of my stuff from Jungle and Mandarake so I get it for less than AmiAmi/HLJ prices anyways.
>>
>>6638698
I've been thinking about making an infographic guide to post on /toy/ to help people navigate paypal's labyrinthian bullshit preferences that keep them from finding the options to switch things around; would that help you? It's not discussed very often or even well known, but paypal's whole business model is ripping people off with currency conversion rates. They make millions every year from phantom fee collection and low balled conversion rates that are a joke compared to every other market rate. Most people lose about $3-5 for every $100 spent when they don't have to.
>>
>>6638727
That would be very helpful, especially if it was geared towards Japanese imports.

I've probably spent somewhere close to £1000 on figures this year. (Figma Slan/Conrad, many many many Star Wars releases, a few Hot Toys, Medicom RAH) all of them ordered from Japan.
>>
>>6638772
Shit, now that I read my post again I realise I contradicted myself here >>6638698
>I don't buy enough figures for it to be a huge deal breaker.
I guess I didn't realise until I spelled it out for myself.

It's so addicting. I fucking love the feeling of getting home from work and cracking open a brand new toy.
>>
>>6638772
>>6638776
It does creep up on you. I take inventory of what I buy throughout the year and somehow, mercifully, I kept it well below $1K.

I'll do the infographic at some point soon. It's especially important now that HLJ went with the billing agreement set-up as the only option. It streamlines purchases but also takes away some of your control as a consumer in regards to seeing how the conversion rate is going at the time. Paypal is pretty notorious for defaulting their preferences whenever they update their site or user agreements, so one day you could have it set up so that your card handles conversion but the next day they'll reset it so they handle the funds exchange. I've had that happen several times throughout the years.

That would look awesome. IIRC the only 6" 501st troopers available are in a yank exclusive 4-pack.

You should definitely get on board the SHF/Mafex Star Wars train, Black Series is okay for army builders but the unmasked humans suck in most cases.
>>
>>6642811
Maybe if they start doing Legends characters like the Solo Twins, Kyle Katarn, Darth Revan and maybe even that one stupid sith with a suit made of lightsabers.

Jaina Solo is the only unmasked Black Series figure I've bought so far. Might get the Jango Fett, Commander Gree and Captain Rex next.

Depends how cheap you can get her. I love Berserk and paid the full 12k release price, she definitely wasn't worth that much. Haven't had her out of the box since I took that photo (in July).

If you just want a big tiddy figure there are cheaper alternatives like the Revoltech Queen's Blade line.
>>
Why aren't any of the professional sports figures good? I just picked up a few and they look good but articulation is some 90's WWF figure tier
>>
>>6643036
because sports fans aren't toy fans and want to convince themselves they are buying "statues of my heroes" and not children's toys. They're a market that considers toys to be for children, pedophiles or adult retards.
>>

tl;dr >>6643079
Sports fans are normies.
Normies don't care about action figures/articulation.
>>

It's a shame, I just want a Figma of some NFL guys so I can set up rad scenes to display them
>>
>>6643036
Take it up with Todd.

There are some options, but they're all fighting sports. Neca made a Muhammad Ali figure that moves well enough, there's those Jakks UFC figures that had at least most of what one would consider "modern" articulation, and Storm Collectibles has a Mike Tyson coming out next year that will have Street Fighter-level articulation and scaling plus maybe they'll have Ali at some point, too.

If I'm being totally honest m8, I bought it for the missiles.
I don't really give enough of a crap about Pacific Rim to want figures of the robots or monsters, but I need those missiles for my new figma Samus.

It's only costing me about £25~ which is way cheaper than anywhere else (pic related) and I will probably harvest the parts I need then sell him on.

My last two hauls, with a bit of /g/ content. Most of these were payed for long ago(sent over finally when the middleman cut me off until I had some of my small pile sent over finally), or were late and early gifts.

First and last received items were the '1/72 Reyleonard 04-Alicia White Pearl Ver.' a late(by my doing) Christmas gift from last year. With most recently the 'Robot Spirits Patlabor Ingram Unit-02' a gifted replacement(that I'm scrambling to try and find a way to match) for my original I mistakenly told the middleman to sell off with another two web-exclusive RDs ... Ugh.

Usually don't like to have too many items like this arrive so close to each other, but once in a while like this(I hope) is nice.

Here’s a shot of all of those figures for you, next to a 6”. I’m waiting for Hulk and Thor to come down in price before picking them up. All of these except Deadpool were gotten from Ross, Marshall’s and TJMaxx last month for $14.99-$16.99 each. Really wish I’d held out on Cap since this one has a lopsided A on his head.

Not that anon but go on amazon and type in "motuc mo-larr". What you'll see is a classic Skeletor with all required weapons (i.e. the Havok Staff and purple Power Sword) in a 2-pack for $30, but he has a tooth missing because it's a gag SDCC release tying in to a Robot Chicken episode. You can then get a cheap cast of a Skeletor head on ebay if it bothers you.

I've went to comic conventions were they also sold toys and... it's a bit of both. You can find some cool things that a seller is trying to ged rid of for a small price and awful, clearly chinese plastic that some people are trying to sell as the real deal.

Wew lads. Never had such a mixed bag of a figure before.

The good: great articulation, amazing likeness, love that he can hold his helmet.

The bad: cheap looking glossy plastic used for the majority of his outfit, most noticeable on the arms (looks unpainted to my eye) and his helmet uses that cheap looking sparkly plastic.
No cape included.
The silver paint used on the helmet is extremely dull.
Both neck joints are very loose, and the masked one completely cuts off the articulation point at the base of the neck for seemingly no reason.

I realise I've listed a lot more gripes than praises for this figure but he is still pretty great. Need to get Rey now and old Luke now.
