>Yahoo Japan Auctions, Suruga-ya - you'll need a proxy if youre not in Japan.
>Taobao - some shops ship international now, so you might not need a proxy.

Please respond: Do you top coat your FAG's?
Matte? Semi? Gloss?

Why?
>>
>>6657012
If they want to make dosh off recolours, they should release a recolour of the Gourai/Stylet unarmoured body from the BDs, but call it a new character with different colours so as to not step on the toes of people who bought the BDs.

Call it their daughter Styrai or something.
>>
>>6657045
Yes, I top-coat.
I use different levels of glossy for different girls, depending on how I want them to look.

The top-coats protect the paint, make the plastic looks less like plastic, and give the completed model a more uniform look.

Matte coat also helps hide imperfections in the construction process.
You should top-coat your FAGs.
>>
>>6657046

Does KotoUSA do replacement runners? If so, whats the right way to order them? I want one part of a frame arm to use with my FAG, but don't want the whole kit.
>>
>>6657080
1. No
2. You need a middleman service.
3. You need the original parts replacement form meaning you have to buy the whole kit or find someone that has the form and send it to you.

>>6657209

Build then, friends. Even if you mess up, they'll still love you. Even if you break parts, they'll still love you. Mistakes only lead to improvement, and the more you build, the better you'll get.

And your girls will always love you no matter what, but they can't love you if you don't build them.

Building little plastic robot girls is easy! It's painting and modifying is where you fuck everything up.
>>
>>6657351
That's super sweet. Please write it.

>>6657363
It's okay! They know you're doing your best even if you have to dunk them in thinner three times before you end up with a passable paint job.

I like to think they show the same amount of care toward you that you show toward them. Even if you've got the shakiest hands in the world and give up on painting after turning one into an abomination, as long as you genuinely tried your best, I'm sure they'll still love you.

By that same token, I doubt they'd be very appreciative if you slathered on a lazy, quick, and thick paint job and called it a day. Where's the love in that?

They will also quickly grow to despise those masters who intentionally abuse them.

Planelegs, I know you're out there somewhere, you scum. Your girls deserve a better home.

That's what happens when your delivery guys live in an urban area. They tend to be lazy dumbfarts.

In the country where I live, postmen who live in rural areas crosses 3 hills just to deliver a package to a customer while postmen who are in living in the city are lazy as hell. Not to mention that sometimes you have to go to post office to claim your damaged package.

I've been painting for years and I'd still kind of like one of these just because Koto's joints and connections on these are so tight it causes massive paint scrape and sanding all the areas down first is a massive pain. Plus I'd rather be able to mess around with my charger-kuns and if I don't have several layers of paint on them I don't have to worry about it. Charger-kuns are too silly to just pose and leave as a display piece.
>>
>>6659498
From my experience, the proble is not so much with the individual delivery guys being lazy, as much as the system being so broken the workers are encouraged to cut corners. In many cities the delivery people have the enitre day tightly scheduled, sometimes down to the minute. You can get in trouble if you don't finish your rounds for the day in time and some companies will even call you mid-day if the system catches you're falling behind. This leads to delivery guys having more reason to cheat the system.
Rural mailmen not only have the advantage of lower number of customers, they also benefit from more lax enforcement of company policies.

Not to say there aren't lazy-ass postmen who just want to half-ass their jobs, but the systems they work under greatly exacervate the problem.
>>
>>6659566
I wish they had another waist joint and better hip joints. I know the Chargers are well articulated chairs more than poorly articulated humanoids but that'd still be nice.

I decided to include the scope found on my reference material because the gun is way too unwieldy to take it into CC. I'll probably have to add a sling as well. Judging by the model, she'd sorely need it to shoot this one from the shoulder.

What's not visible in this shot is the breech, which is open towards the top, so I had to build an aproximation of it. I'm going to cover the rear and glue the ejection chute door shut down though, fuck that.

All this greeble already makes this side of the gun way too busy, IMO, so I think I'll leave the headrest cushion off.
>>
>>6659952
how did you make all those small discs? did you cut them off a solid plastic rod or something?
>>
>>6659969
A pair of rotary hole punch pliers is what I use. I punch these disks out of plasticard.

People ususally use punch dies for the job and for anything below 2mm in diameter, you can't use any other tool anyway, but I couldn't be arsed to order one of those yet.

>>
>>6657849
Why do you scribble all over your kits in marker?
>>
>>6660006
I scribble around the nubs. That way, I know exactly when they're flush and I also get instant visual cues when I'm not sanding, filing, cutting or scratching perpendicular to the surfarce. It's helpful, reduces damage to the surfarce and absolutely minimizes the work I have to put into each nub. Also makes work faster as I can safely start with my needle files bare.

So do lots of disinfectants. The stuff's actually pretty similar to the liquid stitches you get in hospitals sometimes, I wasn't being entirely facetious.
>>
Can you use super glue on deep cuts? It's been like 11 hours since this happened. At work now, got bandaids on. Hasn't bled since I changed it earlier.
>>
>>6660480
That doesn't look too bad, just clean it up good and slap a bandaid on

>>

I wouldn't suggest actual superglue as it can be an irritant. See if you can find Dermabond or some other liquid bandage at your local drug store/grocery store.

That's what I figured earlier but my brother was freaking out when I showed him that picture. Kinda made me nervous. Once I get my break, I'll rinse it and slap a fresh bandaid on.

Are parts openers worth the five bucks, or do they do just as much damage as trying to force it open the old fashioned way?
>>
>>6659664
Personally, I wish they had better hands. Having one static pose for the hands is very limiting and they're not compatible with standard FA architect hands. A simple set of fists, open, and grabbing hands would go a long way for charger-kun.
>>
>>6660986
Because they're metal, there's still the possibility of casing some damage, but I've done it considerably less than when using a blade.
>>
>>6658724
Is there a tamiya alternative?
>>
>>6660988
Conveniently enough, Koto sells spare hands. Their Wild Hands seems about perfect for a Charger-kun.
>>
>>6661012
The "quick setting" extra thin cement is the closest but it evaporates/sets too quickly to be useful.

You are going to have to get MrCement S.
>>
>>6660986
>Are parts openers worth the five bucks
Chink ones are most certainly NOT because they are dull and you WILL damage the parts trying to force the dull blade in between them.

I haven't started mine but I don't think she needs much paint, if any. Only tools needed are a hobby knife and side cutters. Can't make any promises on sweat and tears.

It only took them a whole year to reprint them

I work at a japanese food court that also has a small section that sells japanese pens, stationary, model kits and weebshit. I didn't expect to find these mecha girl figures amongst the robot kits and popular anime merch, but there they were.

And I've still yet to make mine.

Please forgive my noobishness, but which model is this? The legs/feet are pulling me in

Innocentia.

>>6669117
I still have to check the parts to see if I can recast some of them so I can have both girls.

Guess I'll be ordering a couple of more blanks

I didn't expect fitting tracks to be quite this much work, goes to show that I never completed a tank plamo before. But I can/must cheat a bit anyway.

Maybe I'll save up my shekels and make myself a fire team.

Some people are getting pretty creative with the extra parts.
>>
So has anyone tried combining Cu-Poche and FAG parts to make a shortstack figure haha

asking for a friend

This is awesome. I like robo-girls with the mechanical parts exposed.
>>

The best part is that the tubes act as polycaps.

>>6669621
Yes, I think folks already tried, somebody posted images of headswaps a while ago.

I'm going to have the flesh parts left over as I'm only interested in the robot body. Debating if I want the unmasked head.
>>
Is there a gallery of these things somewhere? Mostly interested in FAGs but I'd like to see an entire lineup.

So how are the DA girls? They look neat but are they super basic and shitty? Or are they actually pretty decent?
>>
>>6670389
Depends on the ones you get. They keep improving them per wave. Gourai and Millenia are probably the two best ones out right now.

Not complete, but lots of pics covering everything important. Also they're OOB builds so they're pretty much how yours will look

LOL keep us updated. Ordered a figma from those bastards and made a mistake on the address. Tried to contact them via:

>Email
>Phone
>Social media

Never heard from them.

>They ship the figma a week later
>My post office updates tracking, warning of address error
>Pick up from post office at the last moment.

Fuck Kirin hobby

How tall is that box anyways?
I haven't had a cigar in my life, I don't even know if they differ in size by region.

Looks like the Gourai Kai cupoche is up.

Yeah I love not getting what I ordered because HLJ oversold their pre-orders.
>>
>>6670659
Never had a problem with them so if you don't like them, then go ahead and skip them.
It's not my fault you guys order late. (No, I'm not saying hlj's right on overselling.)
>>
>>6670659
If you can't get one anywhere else there's at least the chance you'll get something from HLJ. You've got nothing to lose by placing the order in this situation.

I'm planning to seamweld and top coat my first FAG tomorrow. Are there good instruction videos for this?
Any tips?
>>
>>6670880
When you apply the plastic cement, wait a couple seconds after applying it on both sides to soften the plactic, then push them together.
After seam welding, wait till the plastic fully cures before sanding it
>>
>>6670891
Do I need to push them together with stronk or softly?
Long ago I read here that one should wash the parts before using chems. Is that true?
>>
>>6670925
Strong enough so the pieces bond together without any gaps. I never use any chemical cleaners on a plastic kit. I've only cleaned pieces after stripping paint off or working with a resin kits.
>>
>>6670891
another anon here, should I join the two pieces together but leave a gap, and then apply cement in the gap and push them together? or is the method where you apply cement on 2 seperate pieces and then press them together better.
>>
>>6670925
You wash pieces with dish washing liquid after assembly and before painting to clean off any mold release, skin oil, sanding dust, regular dust etc. before you prime.
>>
>>6670940
Not that guy, but do you mean it's ok to just paint an already built kit? I thought you keep it disassembled until the varnishing stage at least

They are super basic and shitty, but that's why I like them. Cute little capsule robot girls. But yeah, they're definitely improving with each wave. Keep an eye on the thread, I might sell a couple of my old ones. I guess I don't need every single DA girl from every single wave.

You could always have the thing be a gift from a family member or friend. PoorFag does not need to have bought the FAG necessarily
