So are those actual shinki/fags or is it all hogwash?
>>
>>6694808
It's from a shitty gacha game Konami is releasing. We'll probably get the most popular designs but that's about it.
>>
>>6694810
Is that confirmed or just (admittedly plausible) speculation?
>>

What else would it be, coming from Konami?

Its the most likely scenario based on who is involved yes, but I was just wondering if there was any official confirmation.

Copy-pasted from the last thread because I'm an idiot.
>It's understandable to be pessimistic given the history, but it's pretty obvious that if it was cash-in gacha they would put most of the focus on pre-existing designs since the whole point of a licensed gacha is to attract people based on characters they already like.
If this was a gacha or similar, the video would have been intercut with art of a lot of the old shinkis.

Basically, VOLUME of characters is the core of gachas. 7 new designs and 2 returning ones wouldn't be how you announce a gacha game.
>>
>>6694860
at this point it's reasonable to adopt a "wait and see" mindset instead of getting excited and planning purchases, but people seem to be doing mental gymnastics to justify not getting worked up, and it's not like you really NEED to justify it given konmai's history these past several years.

everybody should just sit back and chill with whatever robogirls they have filling the void. even if konmai cocks up the works further with the busoushinki name, it's not like there won't be anything filling the niche like when they did it the last time.
>>
you know it now it makes sense why Koto couldn't release the model line right away. Konami actually saw potential for money when the massive hype got built up upon the reveal for the revival of the line. So they told Koto they needed to delay the release until they whatever money grabbing product they have planned ready to come out to further hype the product up since they are probably intelligent enough to know the product on its own may not get attention with the shit they been pulling.
>>
>>6694860
>7
There's gonna be more than 7, man.
>>
>>6694942
I think he was speaking more in terms of the content of the ad itself, in which only 7 new designs and 2 returning ones were shown, when showing every single past Shinki would have been a better advertisement should the intent be to promote a gacha game.

Is there even a point at all to being concerned about how Konami is potentially going to handle the brand? Since its a "re-boot" these things are pretty much Busou Shinki in-name-only. They might as well be a completely new line of unrelated model kits a la FAGs and MDs, especially since the seven they've shown look pretty lackluster compared to the majority of the OG Shinki figures.

Its probably better to give up on any notion that this is a "revival" of Shinki figures and just treat it like just another attempt to fill the gap left behind by the death of the original series like all the others.

Those are some thick artbooks.
>>
>>6696552
If you mean making new boob parts for your own stuff, then yes I have. One cheaty way of doing it is to use the breasts from other figures. This is best if they can be easily removed from the figure like a Shinki, and bonus points for if the chest piece is mostly neutral to be used as a good blank canvas. Make a mold using whatever your prefered molding putty is and then make a cast with some king of putty, simple green, miliput, etc. I say use putty instead of resin because this way you can press your FAG/MD into it so the back conforms to the chest and is still easier to remove then resin.

You can then use scribing tools to add details and panels lines to the piece, as well as sand off any unwanted bits that were copied. Then maybe add some more sculpting putty if you want some raised bits, you get the idea.

After all of that you can make a two sided mold of this piece now, especially if you want resin duplicates

Yes and no. You can actually skip the top coat if you use setter. And it shouldn't hurt the paint as long as it's dried. It's really just water and dish soap.

using another figure's boobs is a good way to help avoid some gross looking proportion issues, especially in the sides where it connectes to the body. too many amateurs go make big tits and they look so fake because they stick out too much, but this can help lower chances of shit like that happening for you.

Should I get Asra Ninja or Archer if I'm picking just 1 up? Why does no one talk about the older ones? They look kinda cool too. Where can one buy them new titties?
>>
>>6697214

Archer isn't out yet.
>>
>>6697214
>Why does no one talk about the older ones?

Because they aren't new and because their faceplates don't have that many expressions.

>Should I get Asra Ninja or Archer if I'm picking just 1 up?

Get whichever one you like best. The differences in architecture are minimal, so it comes down to design. Hornet probably has the most expressive faces though.

Any time HLJ doesn't have a restock order for something, they immediately list it as discontinued even if it's going to get another print run in just a few months. Okay, here are most of the "soft kit" bits I'll have on the kit. Some webpage claimed that the Chinese used bread bags similar to the german models, so I based the pattern on that. I'll just glue it shut, paint the paper and call it a day.

If I made a third scabbard, I could get a perfect result, but I feel that this is good enough for now. General hint in that regarding: Use non-magnetic metal for those. It's so much less stressful.

The gun's slings and straps will be copied from some anti-tank rifle I found good images of.

>>6697647

>>
>>6697630
Sure, if you have the disposable income to handle it. A new girl becomes available roughly four times a year, but if you also get into MDs or any other lines you can expect that to go up to closer to six or seven in a year. How many supporting parts you get for them is also going to be a factor. Each girl is going to be about thirty dollars before shipping, while each typical MSG kit is going to be about five dollars, but you can reduce shipping costs if you use HLJ and you're patient about gathering two months' worth of orders before sending for it.

In total, you should budget somewhere between $300 to $400 of disposable income for your tiny robot girls, or about as much as five to six console games.

Finishing up with my Baslord, the only thing left are the weapon pack.

Is there any the FAG figures that I can swap the legs with? I trying to make a non stocking legs version, but all the other stuff I got used pin-pegs joint in the hips. Or I can just use Gourai/style's legs for that? They used ball/pegs systems.

>>
>>6699904
no offense but kinda stretching pretty hard to find a motif. the only one of those that comes close is Ark Performance, even the propeller blades on the staff look like playing cards. She looks more like a Queen of spades then a Queen of Hearts, but she is definitely a queen at least.

I guess Blades comes mildly closish, only by the fact there is a cat theme to her and pink. There is a lack of anything that could ID it as anything more specific then just a generic cat.

Usually themes were handled on a per creator basis with the shinkis.

I check, it used the same system as Materia. Baselord is the only FAG currently using the pure ball jointed hip thing.

Which makes me sad because I got a pair of bare legs with the red Ginrai exclusive edition.
>>

His girl is interesting to me because it's like another fun way to mess with a certain little quirk in the vast majority of 'bigger chested' shinkis. They almost always came with a default shinki sized bust that served for her 'unarmored' mode. Their bigger assets in armored mode were usually fluffed as being something practical such as extended battery stores, ballasts, etc. Even the infamous titty fish Ianeria came with an 'unarmored mode' flat chest. I say unarmored mode like that because even official product images tend to not show her unarmored with the flat chest, but it's there.

Is having the joints so tight that the pegs snap when moving and you have to get another kit part of Koto's master plan?
>>
>>6701067
i broke my giant hand fingers this way too (joints literally exploded to pieces)
>>
>>6701067
what species of gorilla are you?

maybe remove some of those dam nubs, might be hindering articulation causing your joints to break once you move it
>>
>>6701067
No. You're suppose to test fit the joints and sand the male peg accordingly. Depending on the function of the said joint, you might want to preserve the tightness.
>>
>>6701093
I did test the joint. They did not even want to go in.

After trying out the other joint parts, it seems only the male pegs with holes in them have this problem of being too big for the female peg holes they supposed to go into. None of the non holed male pegs have this problem.
>>
>>6701109
But did you sand down the male peg in order to reduce tightness and a better fit?
>>
Speaking of Kotojoints, what was the recommended alternative? Screen door silicone or something? How badly does it muck up painting?
>>
>>6701123
Not yet, going to.

I am just bit confused at the fact Koto still have problem with this after so many year.

Couldn't they just "borrow" Bandai's new plastic for joints? Those are like borderline perfection.

>>
>>6701153
needing to do work when building a model is not a problem.

and I laugh reading (you)r posts, because I remember my first mastergrade gundam kit, where I had to carve away practically half the material from both halves of both elbows in order to get them to A) fit together , B) fit into the little armor piece they had to be sandwiched in while sandwiched around two polycaps, and C) fit in between the rest of the arm the way they had to.
even bandai has duds.
>>

>>
>>6701228
>>6701153
you say 'problem' like it's something that is just universally a big issue with koto kits but the real issue is that Koto kits are not all the same. Stiff joints are a huge issue for very light kits like the FAGs especially, but heavier kits? Sometimes you even need to THICKEN the joints more because of all the weight so they can hold a pose. A lot of their Zoids kits have this issue for the center torso joint if you ever pose them on a stand due to all the weight being put on that one joint, and of course it's a joint that requires an almost complete dismantling of the entire body sections to reach. And even weightier kits like the berserk Fuhrer needed a GOOD deal of thickening on it's ankles.

You can't exactly get perfection all the time. You are either shaving or thickening joints, and I MUCH rather sand down joints then having to build up numerous layers every time I do a build. So a little on the thick side is better imo

Ok so I want to talk about this. I built my first FAG recently, and it has tight joints. People say xddd sand down the joints, but how the fuck am I supposed to sand evenly around the peg? Some sides of this are so close to other parts I cant even get any sand paper in there to effectively sand (cant put pressure with a finger etc on it.

So how exactly does one sand down a joint correctly?
>>
>>6702069
i take my round file and sand the holes a bit
>>
>>6702070
>>6702073
I mean even before its assembled, some of the joints have plastic near the male peg of the joint. I have tried with a file, but most of mine are too thick to easily remove material evenly from the whole part.

I also have some sanding sticks that are rounded, and I wound up using those on the hole itself instead, but I don't really know how effective that was.

I know she will require some painting to look good. But I already have acrylics, enamels, matte, and gloss finish. Not sure if I have any semi-gloss, but I can always go out and get some if needed.

Might even get 2 to make use of the shipping cost.

I don't if you would like this or not. I use nail filer in nail clip and one of smaller metal ones that come with a nail kit,and only sanding it facing the direction with the yellow lines are at. It works for me. You just have to be careful not to let the filer touch the non peg areas.
>>
>>6702466
Also, some form of stiffness is needed so the legs can carry some weight by friction.
So don't don't go overboard on the sanding, just sand enough for the joint to move smoothly.

Depending on the kit, there will either be a very tight window after release in which you might be able to buy it, or the entire stock will be used on preorders. Ninja was sufficiently popular that she couldn't be bought outside of preorder, Archer will probably be the same.

After the initial print run, it may take somewhere between six to eighteen months for a restock. If you really want one, preordering's the way to go.

You can only get one hair runner so write 1 and it's price next to it and finally the total price.

Could someone explain the difference between the blu-ray bonus Stylet and the regular version? Doesn't it include improved articulation, or joint materials, or something? I have found some blog posts about the kit, but they are mostly photos.
>>
>>6704451
The Blu-Ray bonus kits for Gourai and Stylet are just Innocentias with skirts and new heads, depicting the girls as they appear unarmored in the show. They have better articulation and joints than the actual Gourai/Stylet kits, but you can't put their armor on them. Each also comes with an MSG kit they used in the anime in a custom color scheme.

Gourai Kai, for contrast, is the original Gourai kit with some extra armor parts. This means she has all of the joint problems that the original Gourai does. Blu-Ray Baselard is just regular Baselard in a slightly different palette.
>>
>>6704451
Stylet's is basically just an Innocentia body with Stylet head/hair and some colour-matched MSG weapons, same as Vol. 1 Gourai.
>>
>>6704451
From what I understand, it's a different look based on her "casual" appearance in the show. Basically mix a Materia/Innocentia and bits and pieces of the respective character, and there you go. Even the Youtube series kinda reveals this.

Color pencil guide anon here. I have a few spare blank casts for sale, actually. I've sourced from a few casters and this is the best so far. Good quality casts, great fit, and they're color matched to the common skin tone so no painting required.

I'm selling them at 6.50 ea. Shipping anywhere is $4 with tracking for as many as you want. I've got maybe 4-7 of each type.

Drop me a mail if you guys want any. I'll cover all paypal fees.

Some Japanese posted pics that you can mod them to fit on a FAG.

I've ordered Ball-chan's faceplate set 1 + 2 to try it out.

Here you are. 1k+ hours in paint.net. Real fucking expensive since you can't get them separate from the Blu Ray volumes, but if you understand nip then the purchase is kinda worth it.

You can on Mandarake.

What is the best place to get a FAG? Official Koto website? Amiami? Amazon?

So the actual paint application on this kinda sucks but I love that the orange color pops take it from generic 'storm trooper' to Micro-NASA

I think Ami would be best, if they have any in stock. But if it's already released, I'd compare prices between mandarake.co.jp and amazon.jp.

There's a guy on taobao selling faceplates for 5 yuan (77 cents) each

Get a Megami Device. They come with FAG neck adapters and at least the base ones come with a helmeted and unhelmeted head. Toss the helmet on the MD and the regular head on your FAG. There's also the resin append kits for MD that come with more hair and boobs. Those two kits have gotten me ten different characters.
