No, not really. Anyone else hate how the new Pokémon games put too much focus on being based on a real life location? Because it's Pokemon you retard. It's going to sell regardless of what they do just off of brand name alone. This isn't evidence that there ISN'T appeal for innovation or open world gameplay. It would sell just as well if not even more.

>>6700592
Definitely repairable, here's how I'd do it:
Get yourself a pin vise if you don't already have one.
Get a standard wire shirt hanger, and a pair of pliers with wirecutters.
Using your pin vise, select a drill bit the same diameter or slightly larger than your hanger's wire diameter, and drill a hole into the tail, and into the body, where the tail attaches.
Cut a section of wire from the hanger to fit in both holes.
Preferably using a clear-drying glue, glue the wire into the two holes, mating the tail with the body.

Violin.
>>
>>6700859
what about removing the glue residue stuck to the tail?
>>
>>6700611
Link please.
>>
>>6700914
Acetone (nail polish remover) is a solvent of super glue, but it is probably also a solvent of the paint. If the glue stain is unbearable, could be worth a shot to use a very very small amount to just rub off the top layer of glue and try to avoid taking any of the paint.

Might also try washing with dish soap several times first.

Pokemon definitely shouldn't ditch the battle system, but becoming more open is a natural progression. After all, it's a series about exploring and capturing monsters. I don't really see why anyone would be against more freedom and exploration, it's not like it would hurt the paper thin narrative or non existant difficulty level.

As for "fans hate the idea" I don't buy it at all. INTERNET fans caught in a perpetual circle jerk might, sure, but these are the same people who hated the addition of the fairy type, the physical/special split, dont want the series to move to the Switch and constantly cry about nostalgia pandering while clamouring for remakes every second year. They'll complain about every and any change, but then enjoy it when we actually get it.

>complaining about the lack of yokai watch KO design

Ultra beasts, the monsters so horribly designed they actually felt shame in calling them pokemon, are single handedly the worst thing to happen to this franchise. And this is in a world where we've had megas, z moves, and luchalitten.
>>

Ultra Beasts are just "one-off/legendaries" with the option to be easily captured by a specific ball.

Ultra Beasts are great specifically because they're allowed to push the boundaries of traditional pokemon design without worrying about being too bizarre or complex. PKMNcollectors drama is the funniest shit.

Honestly, the only (notable) person I didn't like there was Gin. Her Pokemon center pick ups were a complete ripoff. Everyone thought she was the shit, but she was actually a greedy cunt who sold everything double the retail price. Ironically, she quit/ stopped posting right around the time the US online store opened.

The community feels like it's almost dead at this point compared to 4 years ago. I don't know if it has to do with her stepping down or just people growing up and moving on.

>>
>>6703162
In general it seems like a friendly community. Is there any decent drama worth hearing about?
I do wish I was collecting back when it was in it's prime. It seems like it had more quality sales posts with a lot more figures being sold.

>>
>>6703172
I can't think of much. The only thing I can recall is some lugia collector harassing people who had the giant tomy plush. I drift in and out so I'm sure other things that have happened. Most people there are very friendly, I've been there since 2013 and nobody has ever been mean or scammed me.

>It seems like it had more quality sales posts with a lot more figures being sold

Yeah, the sales posts used to be way better, you could actually get cool/ rare merch. Now it's just the same big sales posts over and over mixed in with a few dinky ones.
>>
something I was doing for a lark was thinking up a line for Pokemon that would do figures for every single Pokemon and do them all in their game sizes but scaled down, the issue that came up is that it just doesn't seem possible to find a scale that would allow the smallest Pokemon(several different ones at 4 inches) and the largest(Wailord) to be both in an accurate scale to each other and not have the issue of either the former group being too small, or Wailord being too big(and thus cost prohibitive), but I'll fully admit I suck at math, so maybe someone can sort this out for me?

>Ironically, she quit/ stopped posting right around the time the US online store opened.
She's in cahoots with pokeshopper to pimp her shop, either helps run it or offers them a kickback. Ironically her prices have gone up even more since the past, despite every one and their mom having lower prices than her.

My main beef with her was her constant drama stirring on her private livejournal page, and then getting acting like a victim when it made it onto the comm.

>The community feels like it's almost dead at this point compared to 4 years ago. I don't know if it has to do with her stepping down or just people growing up and moving on.

It has to do with two things; one is the changes livejournal made to their posting format. You used to be able to post to someone very easily from the front page, and that's why earlier years had 30-40 comments every single gets post. As soon as they changed things it went down to 5.

And second is pkmncollectors used to be the only place to get stuff, and the US pokemoncenter made that absolete. Now even Amazon has competitive prices and people don't have to put up with irritating sellers or fickle competition from other members to get the plush they need.

So winter WonFes is just a few weeks away now. We've had a pretty good year for Pokémon nendoroids and figma announcements. Probably the most we've ever gotten (Lillie, Ash, Lana, Giovanni, Red rerelease, Red and Selene figma). We've been spoiled and I hope they continue on spoiling us…

So who/what are you hoping to see next month at WonFes?

For me, it's the original best girl. Now that we've had Ash I'm hoping she's high on the list.

How are the pokemon shf figures? I've been tempted to get them but I think I prefer figma red.
>>
>>6704361

Honestly I'm only interested in what these Wicked Cool toys people will do with the main poke line. nendos don't interest me and figmas release so glacially we'll be happy to see two total in 2018 from Pokemon (and we already know Selene is one of them).
>>
>>6704383
Considering Ash and Red are different characters, why not get both?
>>
>>6704383

Don't even touch SHF's pokemon figures. They're trash and look extremely cheap.

Figma Red on the other hand is god-tier even though he only comes with angry faces.
>>
>>6704393
They fill an almost identical role on my shelf, and if one is definitely a better figure than I don't feel the need to get both.

>>6704406
Does that include the pokemon themselves or just the humans? I know pikachu is garbage but I was eyeing charizard at some point.
>>
>>6704421
Red has been a hit with most people who've got him. I've seen anons admit their initial criticisms were wrong. Don't have Ash myself, but I'd agree he looks a bit cheap and trash.

I do have the D-Arts starters and I love them. Some people hate things like Charizard's segmented tail for example, but I'm willing to look past that because he's the best 'zard figure available. Also, if you're in to correct scale, Red is slightly shorter than Ash and so scales better (almost correctly) with the D-Arts.
>>
>>6704383

Red is solid. Get the regular version since the exclusive one only comes with an extra Pikachu which is a waste of money considering the millions of pikachus out there. Be warned that the figma pokemon starters aren't the greatest with their weird sculpt and fragile plastic, but those can also easily be replaced.

But the figure itself is great. Doesn't look like he'll be in that much demand either since he's still available this long after release.
>>
>>6704421
>Does that include the pokemon themselves or just the humans?

Do you mean the D-arts or the pokemon pack-ins? The G1 starters are amazing and highly recommended. Same with Mewtwo who is easily the best release for the character. Mega Blaziken is meh only because they did a mega version rather than regular firecock.Lucario is alright but way too fucking huge to display with any figma or figuarts humans, if that bothers you. The big pikachu looks terrible and is horribly out of scale. Only get that if you want a huge pikachu for a Smash shelf.

The Team Rocket Meowth is alright, but nothing great. Ash's pikachu is terrible, but that's the easiest fucking pokemon to find a good figure of, so w/e.

Haven't been on /toy/ in years what is the best set of pokemon figures? Things I am prioritizing: scale and number of pokemon. I want literally one of each pokemon to put in pokedex order and I want them to be accurately scaled.
>>
>>6704477
Lol you're fucked.
>>
>>6704477

Doesn't exist.

Start collecting MonColles.
>>
>>6704383
Fairly solid, though not quite as good as the Figma Red. Basically just depends on whether you want game or anime characters though.

>>6704361
I'm not counting on more Figmas. As others have said, Red seems to be in low demand, so the chances of getting more characters passed Selene are slim and the SHF anime characters seem to have completely bombed. It's the same problem the original D-Arts had, people seem to want them, but no one actually bought them when they were first released.

Nendoroids will likely continue though. Misty is likely, assuming enough people cared about Ash and I'm still sure we'll see Mallow after they've done Lana. If they're going back to older trainers, maybe Dawn as she's one of the most popular
>>
>>6701940
Just fucking glue it. Why is this such a big deal?
>>
>>6704491
The MonColle figures are as close as you're going to get, but they're absolutely not in scale. Most of the smaller ones look fine together and work great for Figma Red/SHF Ash, but you're out of luck for anything aside from first-middle evolutions or any of the larger monsters.

The old D-Arts released the Charizard, Mewtwo, Blastoiseand Mega Blaziken, which are all at least close to being accurately sized (as well as Venusaur, Pikachu and Lucario who are way off) and Tomy USA has released some bigger articulated guys like Greninja, Machamp and Snorlax who aren't bad.
>>
>>6704506

Oh yeah that's what I meant.

Jakks has some nice mid-range figures
>>
>>6704501
Because Figma's quality continues to drop.
>>
>>6704497
Nendoroids do seem to be the most popular, which is good news for me as they're the main Pokemon figures I collect. I think it helps that they're cute and popular with regular people too. They also have a mix and match element. I see less of that in the figma community.
>>
>>6704533

It's a bit of both. Nendos have smaller production numbers than a lot of Figmas and as you said they are collected by people who aren't fans of the specific franchises who just like the chibi style.

Figma Red isn't doing badly, it's just way overproduced and it's a male figure, so waifufags won't buy it unless they're also pokemon fans.

>>6705312
Of the 3 starters he seems to obviously be the best in terms of action figures. I feel like they could have done a bit more for Primarina. Decidueye looks good, given his design.
>>
so if Tomy lost the license, who's taking it over?
>>
>>6705531
Wicked Cool Toys. They've made nothing notable. Interesting part is that the Pokemon Company bought a large part of the company so that hopefully means what we'll get is quality. Mainly hoping they have an action figure line going like Tomy's ~5" figures. These are the best Pokemon figures domestically have ever been with the scale line, in my opinion, so it'd be unfortunate to lose that progress. Expanding and improving the scale line would be my preference of what they would do.
>>
>>6705534
>Mainly hoping they have an action figure line going like Tomy's ~5" figures.

I can dream but its probably gonna be more plush garbage since that stuff sells like hotcakes at nintendo world
>>
>>6704009
>deoxys up against the wall

how do you think tomy would combat this if it was a figure mad today? Would they give it a stand?
>>
>>6705553
Maybe. Maybe peg holes at the bottom of his "feet" that could have little round transluscent bases peg in.
>>
>>6705548
Plush is a foregone conclusion, of course any company with the license is going to do plush if possible. It's what they do for toys in addition to that, because there is definitely a toyline of some kind, that matters for our purposes.
>>
>>6705548
Oh I'm sure there will be plushes too, and that's great. Like you said they sell well so obviously people want them and thus retailers want them. I feel like an action figure line in some capacity is a given, my main hope is for there to be a line with articulated Pokemon figures. Ever since I was a kid I've wanted an articulated Hitmonlee (being obviously hopeful, but ball pegs at each segment of his legs for super poseable legs) and others, so it was great for Tomy to get going on their line and continue to improve through each wave. I guess we'll find out the general direction of Wicked Cool's toy line come Toy Fair.
>>
>>6705312

Both are far superior to Samurott, but I've never quite understood the Primarina hate. Is it just because it's more feminine than most? A singer/mermaid is a very original idea and its design is fairly cute. Incineroar on the other hand the typical homogenised fire starter. Not terrible, but obviously designed to appeal to 12 year old edgelords.

It's probably a rare fake and there will be some people actually collect these so could be worth something.
Could be worth asking >>>/tg/ They're the more card board

Are there any in-scale legendary or mythic pokemon apart from Mewtwo, Groudon and Kyogre?

This. I have no idea why they decided to just jump ahead to the worst gen ever made with the worst starters. It's going to fucking flop hard now and we're going to get screwed out of any good trainers.

>I don't like it so I can't comprehend how anyone else would! Why would they ride off hype and relevancy instead of trying to pander to nostalgia which may or may not work!

I wish someone would tell them they don't need to include 3 pokemon with every figma. I would prefer 1 poke and some other accessories. If they really want to make some money they need to make evil team bosses and gym leaders/trial captains.

Found them here: http://siroganedo.blog.fc2.com/blog-entry-118.html
Reverse image searching doesn't show me anything else though. Bit of a bummer; they look like they know what they're doing and it would be cool to see process shots.

I disagree. Collectors usually obsess over waifus and gen 7 is full of them. GSC is ticking all the boxes at the moment. I think they'll sell less by focusing on some obscure team bosses or trial captains, unless they're really popular. I agree more accessories would be nice, but Red and Chickenchan are player characters, so they HAVE to come with 3 starters.

Money is on the female characters which is what waifu fags and Pokémon fans will both buy.

Look at the Kotobukiya line. Only male character made was Red. Rest have been female protagonists.

How are the happy meal toys that are out now in the UK? It looks like a different assortment to what was available in the US last year, and am I right that there's no Grubbin?
