Especially during modern days with shitty Nexo Knights and Star Wars.

I just have a whole bunch of characters with their own stories and personalities. The whole reason i got into 6-wide twoseaters+ was so they could drive around together in a group or with a friend, something i always thought would be nice as a kid. Several characters have their dedicated vehicles, three car nuts with their cars, a pilot with his fighterjet etc. More often than not they drive around in an outfit or vehicle that isn't fitting because it's funny.
I don't have a maincharacter that gets all the bitches or something either. Most are younger kids and a few have a dedicated boyfriend/girlfriend or husband and wife.

mech is "A large, mobile suit of tank-like armor." operated by human.
that's it
it can have legs or tank threads.
but it should be visible as an armor operated by human.

that mech is visibly human-ish except one wheel
but it has arms and stuff. And even samurai banners on the back which is "robo-armor" enough already

Unfortunately, they use stickers and they peeled off from age because young me was an idiot that din't bag any of my rare minifigs. The heads & helmets are still good though.

Hello /toy/, first time i post here, but maybe you can answer my question.

Today i visited for the first time after 8 years, a lego store out of curiosity, since they were a huge parte of my childhood.

Anyway, the fact is: is it just me or the average price of lego sets has increased a lot? Little ones, big ones like the death star or mindstorms (which i only remember the first edition). Sorry if i am wrong, it just bugs me.

The domes on the engines are actually dark green, the lighting's a bit shit so it looks black. Eventually hope to replace them with normal green, if they ever get made.
Apart from colour swaps, I also covered up the hole where you insert the bombs, but did so in such a way as to easily take it off as needed. See the green stud at the bottom of the curved slop? Push that down and the whole cover pops right off. Also put a 2x4 plate underneath to stop the bombs falling out. So now not only can it carry a full load of bombs, but it can be swooshed without accidental releasing them.

>>6701345
No, my sigfig's a lot better looking then I am.
>>
>>6701846
I found that there just aren't that many small sets anymore.
Especially Star Wars is 30€+ for absolutely everything that isn't a Not-Minifig-Scale model, Funko Pop rip-off or Battlepack. And that's a really weird evolution with all those smaller vehicles that in turn get upscaled to ridiculous proportions.

The 90s and 80s were full of tiny figure-only packs and a wide array of sub 100 part sets. Now every themes sets start at ~100 parts / 10€ and the most expensive stuff did not even reach 400 parts most of the time.

It might also look like you get "less" for your money if you compare a current car to an 80's town set car. Builds now are bigger, more complex and use a lot more pieces.
>>
>>6701846
It's just that there's more liscensed sets nowadays, which up the price quite a lot.

Compare a set with around the same ammount of pieces that is licensed with one that is Lego-original.

So in the movie canon he's just a mutant instead of being cursed, right?

Also where do you get the pajama variant?
>>
>>6701871
Pajamadon was in the CMF series.
>>
>>6701871
You can't trust anything he said, so, no, probably not.
>>
>>6701846
The upper threshold on set size/price has tripled since the year 2000, and it's also true that the lower limit on set size/price has, on average, risen. The $20 set seems to be the new standard, with few and fewer sets below that point.

Having said that, the price per piece of Lego has actually gone down consistently over time, so while you may be spending more money for a smaller set, that smaller set will have more content relative to a similarly priced set in times past.
>>
>>6701875
Well yes but his villany is more of a vice instead of something he can't control in the movie version. Plus he doesn't turn back to a normal human after being redeemed.
>>
>>6701885
He wasn't actually redeemed. At best he made peace with his son, but he wasn't even allowed to join the group hug.

While true, you have to keep in mind that old sets were mainly made up of blocks and bricks, while newer sets have a lot more single stud and other small parts.

Okay okay, we're going off in a tangent. If he was cursed, who did it? There's no Great Devourer or Overlord in the movie universe.

I don't think so.
There actually is black there. The round 4x4 tile that is yellow on the stock standard Y-Wing was replaced with black.
So like I said, if and when Lego makes the dome in green, I'll replace them. I think that will look really good, with the green front domes, backed by a ring of black.

Also, whipped this up last night and might as well share it.
Its an 80s-esq Cyberpunk Tiltrotor Helicopter that uses the gunship/mining craft from Ayesha's Revenge set as a base.

Why assume it was the Overlord? He's been a warlord for ages, obsessed with power and with an entire science division. It COULD be a dark antithesis to the ninjas' powers, especially with the emphasis that green is life, or a number of other things up to and including the version we had in the show. However the movie is pretty far divorced from the show, so as of now I'm leaning more towards some alternate mystical/quest for power shit that jacked him up. Not that that means much.

I really miss the general castle theme from the 90s, i was quite young but i got to play with some of the neat sets at my friend's house. i really like the forestmen theme, and the dark forest theme.

i'd love to have a small generic castle or fort, built with detail despite the small size, a similarly built wizard's cottage or tower, and then a forest with some woodland hideouts and forest bungalows.
>>
>>6702367
Most /pol/ posters are from the U.S., so why would they care about a lack of white representation? It's not like any whites live in America.

If you buy a number of things that were all produced together, made to be played with together, and you display them together then that's a collection my guy.
And I only gave a shit about the cartoon during the more interesting arcs, but they tried to translate the really distinct artstyle into the sets they made which resulted in every minifig and set released during show's run to have said style that set them apart from the pre-Clone Wars prequel sets and the post-Disney prequel sets.

Is that whole thing about Walmart sets being very easy to steal parts/minifigures out of common? I want to get the dragon mech from the NJM line but I'm afraid at this point I'll be met with missing/mismatched bags and minifigures.

Is there a sure way of knowing a box has never been opened?
>>
>>6702457
>its a toys r us exclusive
ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?!?!??!
WHY LEGO DOES THAT?!?!!??!

i already never saw Penguin's Car from lego batman set and never had a chance to buy it because its an amerifat exclusive.
Now it's this shit?
WHY
LEGO
DOES THAT
>>
>>6702458
So long as it has the lego tape with the black markings and no weird looking average joe tape it should be safe.
I never knew Walmart had that reputation but it absolutely happened to me one year when I bought a lego star wars advent calendar and the fucking santa Yoda exclusive figure was gone. I then had to spoil myself on what set or figure was on each and every day just so I could make sure I didn't get a robbed set when I exchanged it, which totally ruined the surprise of it entirely
>>
>>6702459
i think the exclusive only last for a little while then the rest of the stores will get it, i wanted to afterpay it but i couldn't cause you could only buy it in store, i dont really have the room any way i have know idea were im going to put destiny's bounty
>>
>>6702459
i saw the penguin car in kmart
>>
>>6702457
I thought that might be the case, but it doesn't list it as exclusive on their website while it does for other sets? Is that because it's a timed exclusive like >>6702465 suggested?
>>6702459
Can confirm the penguin car was not exclusive to burgerland, I bought it from Target in Kangarooland.
>>
>>6702469
>>6702459
some sets like the ant man and some of the guardians never made it to the land down under, but all of the lego batman movie ones did
>>
>>6701951
I don't know. I had the idea in my head for how the rotors should look and while trying to work out how to do it, saw a pic of the Ninjago NinjaCopter. So I looked that up, found the wheel piece, found that it was available in dark bley and ordered it. Then after that, I saw that they'd used the same design in a Spider-Man set, which is probably where I got the idea from.

>>6701973
I've fiddled with the idea adding removable armour plating to the engines. It makes it look more bulky and less round, but I'll probably will add it in the future when I work out a way of adding similar removable armour to the main body. And when that happens I'll add some green highlights/stripes to it.

>>6702459
>i already never saw Penguin's Car from lego batman set and never had a chance to buy it because its an amerifat exclusive.

I got mine from Big W. I've also seen it in K-mart, Target and Toy World, as well as some other smaller toy stores.

hey true KLOCKI fans.
What is the best early 2018 set of the year?
And why it's picrelated?

1) Lots of Black and transGreen parts. Seriously - this set is so fucking rich with those
2) unique round Eye piece (wish it had 2 of them but that's what bricklink for)
3) TWO villain figures and both of them having 2 different torso prints of villains of this line
4) Macy for those who never had it + her rare Red Rubber Plumage-piece
5) those tech spiders
6) THE PRICE OF IT!
seriously - if you get TWO of these sets just for having 2 round Eye-pieces, you getting a FUCKING INSANE AMOUNT OF SUPER USEFUL PIECES that can be used for mocs this whole 2018 year!
>>

Okay, enough shilling, we get it, Jang.
>>
>>6702380

Clone Wars anniversary sets for this year:
Anakin's Jedi Starfighter
General Grievous Speeder
Super Battle Droid BF
Clone Trooper and Walker BF
Clones and Jedi BP(2 clones,Ki Adi Mundi and Bariss)
Wish we got a Count Dooku and Obi Wan set too. Still no new Ahsoka or Asajj Ventress. :(

Good ST sets:
Anch-To set
Tie Silencer vs A Wing
Millenium Falcon

There are literally SCIENCE-sets for girls. That has girls building robots and doing science-shit.

Do you anons have any lego coming in the post?

I have an order in transit:

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Mighty Micros: Wonder Woman Vs. Doomsday 76070

LEGO Nexo Knights Ultimate General Magmar 70338

LEGO Nexo Knights Ultimate Flama 70339

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Spider-Man: Doc Ock's Tentacle Trap 76059

LEGO Clayface Splat Attack 70904

A neat little haul, all of them were reduced in price, and the website allows for payments over time (with no interest) which I think is great.

I'm not sure what I shall do with the wonder woman minifig, as I bought that little set for the interesting parts of the doomsday minifig and vehicle. I think wonderwoman's vehicle has some neat parts to it as well.
Maybe I could do a figure trade with someone here, idk.

The nexo minifigs come with some items I don't usually see in sets which I am keen to own. The minifigs themselves are going to be exciting to see as I haven't owned ones like that before. I am this anon >>6702369 who likes wizards/rangers/knights and castles/forests/caves/lakes and I think I can use these particular minifigs as fire elementals and cave creatures.

As for the doc oc set, well, I think the white tiger minifig is really unique and interesting and I would like to incorporate it one day in the near future into my fantasy world. The other figs aren't too important to me. The pieces of the set though are quite nice and it looks like a fun and interesting build. I'll incorporate it into my small techo/cyber/space stuff. I think many of the parts will be useful for shuttles, buggies, and other space/cyber vehichles.

Finally, I'm pretty excited about clayface, though not for reasons relating to comics or superheroes. I really like the look of the clayface build and I see some potential for it as a functional earth golem in my fantasy world (a la rock golems from fable video games).

im a lego nub and am not super sure what spyrius is, i just googled it, and a lego wiki page came up, so is the lego plate related to that spyrius group from lego space? coz that sounds pretty great to me

do you have many other mechs or mocs at the moment as well?

>>6702720
what is the temple like? di dyou build it or is it more of a parts pack for you?
>>
>>6702721
Spyrius was a Space sub-theme in the 90s. Pic-related is a popular set.

Basically, I'm going to take one of the 2x2 plates with the techno-pattern that this thing has on its arms and put it on the chest of the battle suit where the dragon logo currently is.

hmm..im thinking. I kind of like those monster figures.
And Nick himself is a meme-enough figure...damn... I think im gonna buy this!!

The 2014 Wheelbike >>6702541 is so much better. The Grievous figure is also identical between the two.

>>6702527
I thought this was about Harry Potter sets, not Potter + Fantastic Beasts. Still neat though.

>>6702606
If it weren't for teal and lavender parts or all the new minifig hairstyles I would want that line just flat out cancelled for all the bullshit normies and butthurt it attracts.

>>6702703
The selling only worked so well because I waited for a good discount on the sets (14,99€ normal price, got them all for 10,40€).
For some reason the recommended retailprice for a battlepack was also changed from 16,99€ to 14,99€ just for the battlepacks released last year and changed back again for the new sets which means the biggest discount will probably end up being 11,99€.

Honestly, I would rather bricklink the troopers alone to save myself the hassle but for some reason white troopers always go for 3-5€ and at that point I might as well buy the whole set.

Another nice way to get Star Wars figures was also the advent calendar of 2016. On discount for 22€, the mini-builds went as one item for 14€. Then also sell some of the less armybuildy figures like Luke, E-3PO and Snow Chewbacca and I believe I ended up with 30 cents per figure last year.
>>
>>6702729

And yeah, I have done something kind of similar before. The chest-plate doesn't come in lime green or light blue, though, so this one is brick-built.

It's not particularly difficult to make these, but I like the design of the battle suits and I find it fun. I'll probably make some for Space-Police, MTron, and the other old space themes too. I also wanted to do one for the Ghostbusters Ectomobile to match the Scooby Doo one.

dunno about set of the year but a few of this wave's nexo sets are pretty good value. that set is $30 and you get a mech that would probably be close to $10 itself, and 2 other figs, one with side build jet thing. That leaves you with the main build chock full of new and rare parts at a very good value. Twinfector isn't bad either. I've been going back and forth on which I want to get a second set of.

And they are new moulds!!!!

Original set descriptions were wrong! The Jurassic world sets are different then originally reported! Biggest set is a mansion with 2 Dinosaur (one being a raptor and the other being a bigger darker raptor). 6 minifigures including Owen and a triceritops skull build. There could be a third dinosaur but it’s a small new mold so it might be a stuff animal dinosaur mold. Next set includes the Dino chasing after Owen in the trailer and a 4 by 4 truck, a gyrosphere, 3 minifigures including Owen and Claire, next is a helicopter that has Owen with a cross bow and 2 other generic figures and the Dino is blu (or another similar raptor). Next is a similar set to raptor escape, comes with dr wu, a generic minifigure and a new Dino mold! It’s the one with the round head!, next is a Jeep and comes with owen and a generic figure and a pterodactyl. For the juniors we get a helicopter and a different color pterodactyl and a volcano, second includes a truck with no top, Owen and a new color raptor .

Fuck that. I want City Mars that involves a human colony city on Mars. Hydroponics farms, mines, solar power farms, Mars police, Mars criminals. Okay, fine, a single alien Mars bear.

MAYBE some Mars sharks. We'll see.

Blacksmith sign is definitely useful. If we're just going on appearance I've always been partial to the blue chameleon.

Are they still doing a wave 2? It's been forever since I heard about it and never saw it in any stores. My local walmart had wave 1 for awhile before clearancing out the lot (sadly only taking 50 cents off of the price, which sucked). They're now at the Five Below, naturally full price.

I'm asking, because I'm concerned that, that's what they'll become; some alien creature that will be overhyped to the point that we're sick of them before the movie even comes out.

The porgs were a decent idea. I was fine with them. Until they started appearing fucking everywhere and shills made a giant deal about them. I now hate the fucking things and I haven't even scene the movie.
I'm asking, because just from these blurry pics of brick based toys, these things look kinda cool, and I'm worried that they'll be overhyped to the point of annoying as well.
