What is /lg/'s opinion on the Exo-Force theme? Specifically the first year.
I think they were absolutely awesome.
>>
>>6942920
Interesting idea, neat hairpieces, stickers/prints and robo figures and pieces, liked the industrial or more 'serious machinery' and asian inspired designs.
Was let down by the skeletal/flimsy and unfinished feeling of the robos, the often oddball articulation and the weird western how 2draw animu faces.
Never owned any myself or played with the actionfeatures.
>>
>>6942923
>the often oddball articulation
I kind of liked the stiff joints, made them feel like real mechs.
They switched to ball joints the next year, which greatly improved mobility and playability, but sacrificed that robotic feeling.
>>
>>6942920
Loved the good guy mechs. Collected just about all of them. IIRC they introduced the click joints in that line, which were great for customs. Even if you didn’t like the mechs the sets were a decent source of parts for space ships with their use of slopes, wings, and windshields. The bad guys were underwhelming.

I'm moving next month and just started to pack my Lego sets. Any tips before I go too crazy with this?

I got Assembly Square that I separated and bagged each floor, and managed to fit it all into the original box with extra stuff cushioning the sides. Honestly I want to redo that and recycle the original box so it's easier to move.

Haven't taken serious interest in toys for a while, so I just discovered this. Looks like a real goldmine. Some of the sets go for less then they cost originally.
Are the sellers there trustworthy?
>>
I can’t wait to get this set. But I just bought the lightning jet and the ice tank so I need to at least wait till my next paycheck
>>
>>6942946
Interesting, when it comes to aesthetics, I actually preferred year 1 bad guys.
>>
>>6943554
Sellers are overwhelmingly trustworthy, but there is no vetting process. If you are super worried, go with your gut. If something is priced way too low from a new seller with no feed back you're taking a gamble. Also make sure to read everything posted. You will find some sets below MSRP because the seller is only selling the main build, or it doesn't come with minifigures, or is "mostly complete". you can filter searches for new in box, but those tend to cost closer to, or well above MSRP depending on rarity and demand.
>>
>>6943554
>Are the sellers there trustworthy?

check feedback

But I've got just over 100 orders and the worst that ever happened is a seller didn't include all the parts, so either sent out a new packet or gave me a refund.
>>
>>6943555

>>
>>6943198
Never tried it myself, but many many people do this. I have heard of people where the yellowing returns fast and who were cautios about it, but those have been a small minority. I watched Jangbricks video about whitening bricks with hydrogenperoxide baths, and since he has advanced engineering autism i'll take his word and method for it.
http://i.4cdn.org/toy/1526218857591.jpg

>>6943207
Man this is is cute af

>>6943708
An OG dark gray one, a green one and four orange ones.
I plan on gifting two orange ones to this flaky friend who might be getting back into Lego again.

Maybe i'm just doing it wrong, but two on top of eachother for removing two flush stuck plates doesn't work for me that well with the newer style mold. The crossaxle kinda studs movement for me when you pinch the two together.
So i always use the OG one without crossaxle at the bottom and a newer on top.
>>
>>6943755
>Never tried it myself, but many many people do this. I have heard of people where the yellowing returns fast
The yellow returns quickly because the treatment only affects the molecules on the piece's outer surface, so as soon as the bromine in them starts to break down again, the piece turns yellow again.
>>
>>6943684
holy shit, the docks are supposed to be 3553 pieces. Did they build it from 1x1 plates or what?
>>
>>6943760
>so as soon as the bromine in them starts to break down again, the piece turns yellow again.
But also at a very increased rate? I don't remember him mentioning any numbers, but not sure if they'll return to yellowed in a matter of weeks months or years when properly stored.
>>
>>6943708
An old gray one, an old green one and a shit ton (~60?) of the orange ones
>>
You can see it next to city set in top right corner
>>
>>6943770
The entire surface of the water sort of is. The wooden planks and stone pavement probably also have a way higher piece count than it looks like from a glance.
It probably also looks 'smaller' thanks to it being more wide without an imposing towering height using thin support struts.
>>
>>6943337

Lol. I plan on subbing some of it for the red brick pattern 1x2. I have it somewhere here. I build in solid colors and then substitute after. This way I get a feel of how the building is going to look height wise etc. Then I go back in and sub stuff in. Maybe not the best way to build but easier for me then do all this detail and then tear it all out.

I always hear about people finding crazy Lego stuff at thrift stores, like barely used monorials and whatnot, but realistically, if I went around my local thift stores how likely do you think I'll be in finding vintage/cheap lego?
>>
>>6945570
depends on your area- definitely check facebook marketplace and craigslist too! I've found some pretty good deals over the years.
>>
>>6945570
There's probably tons of people doing the same, unless you live in the middle of nowhere. I check whenever I'm in one, 95% of the time there's absolutely nothing but once I got the monster fighters hearse minus the vampire for 6 bucks, so every once in awhile you beat the pros..
>>
>>6945570

>>
>>6945570
you gotta go regularly, people find stuff because they look. If you go once a year then yeah you're not gonna find shit most likely.

I find lego at my local thrift stores pretty consistently, it's just stupid priced.

It's often a bag or box that's been taped up, with a partially built model inside going for maybe 5% off RRP when it was out. Or it's bags of poorly looked after bricks, with visible grime and aging.

I've found a couple of decent deals in thrift stores, but I don't buy every lego-thing I come across.

You have two options. If you want to sell them now, you should put them on ebay for either half their BL price, or whatever the last one sold for on ebay.

Lego should just do more licensed Minifigs instead of trying to be Funko Pop. That's practically what Minifigs are, and way better.
>>
>>6946094
At least SW is out of the picture as long as Hasbro exists. They have exclusive license to single packed action figures, and CMF count as those. But I wouldn't completely disregard other themes. Disney and Batman CMF were well received, and HP will sell like hotcakes.

I'm officially ending my Lego hiatus that I've been on since 2009 and have a few questions:

>What's the current best Marvel or Star Wars set out right now? I have a discount coupon for a site I use that I'd like to use (currently interested in the Han Basedlo speeder)
>Are the Knights of The Old Republic sets worth the price? I really like the EU aesthetic of Star Wars
>Thoughts on the Tron Ideas, UCS Hulkbuster and UCS Millennium Falcon that just came out?

It was a dream come true for me. Lego mechs with evil robots? Especially the gundam-esque designs and the weapon designs were awesome.

>>6946322 (checked)
Absolutely worth it. Building original brickheadz models really puts your SNOT-fu to test, and even if you hate the line, the set is an excellent parts pack for the price. it even comes with a sticker sheet that may be of use for other projects.

My main issue with Brickheadz (other than that they are a way of Lego to get that sweet Funko dough and they're ugly to boot) are actually the printed pieces. Not the stuff like eyes, but actual bricks. Even if I were to buy that GB set for parts, I'd have literally zero uses for parts that make up Venkman's chest and stomach. They're just too specific
>>
>>6946497
Some are a tad too specific for other uses, but others prints are great. Off the top of my head I can think of Belle's dress print, Captain A's Belt, Jack's tassel, Salazar's forehead, and Aquaman's chest that would be easy to build into custom things.
>>
>>6946485
Nah crocodiles are just vicious carnivores mindlessly preying on scientists and newly escaped criminals, they're not nearly as sophisticated and well versed in economics as bears.
>>
>>6946506
