One more thing I forgot to add. There is a new Marvel Select Thanos being released in July.
>>
>>6945005
Is it different from the original?
>>
>>6945005
Looks like all they did was make the gold shinier.
>>
>>6945008
I believe it's a re-release with better paint, sculpt, etc.
>>
>>6945005
Re-releasing classic Thanos? They just released a modern version of him like a month ago, if that. Damn.
>>
>>6944981
That would have been a QC disaster
>>

That is an old ass figure. I remember when people were buying this to use with Marvel Legends.

yeah that one in the pic is the old one. I'm wondering if they're actually referring to pic related. It's out though. I ordered mine on Disney Store's website and even though they said it was back ordered and it wouldn't ship until the end of the month, I got an UPS tracking number over the weekend with a delivery date of Friday.

It's probably just a re-release without any changes. I might be wrong but I'm pretty sure they've re-released this (as well as a few other MS figures) before.
>>
>>6945157
*in regards to sculpt, that is.

They should’ve fixed Lady Death and added a pretty removable human faced head.

is this wave going to be impossible to find?
>>
>>6945290
I hope not. I at least was able to get Ant Man and Wasp pre-ordered. I only kinda want Thor. I also have the Teen Groot 3-pack pre-ordered but I'm debating getting the single release Thor too for Stormbreaker and because that shot of him, Rocket, and Groot, porting to earth and smashing Thanos' army was fucking awesome.
>>
>>6945290
No. In 6 months they will be all over the place.
>>
>>6945290
I don't think it will be impossible but it might be a little harder to get right now. There's also the question of if its even technically out right now. Some stores put stuff out early which is why some waves seem impossible to find, then suddenly are everywhere after you've already managed to get the whole wave for a mark up from a third party seller online.
>>
>>6945296
>>6945298
>>6945304
When do they come out?

Widow and Thor are the only ones that interest me at the moment.

The new production photos look way better than the teaser shots they released earlier. Especially for Widow
>>
>>6945315
those teaser glams they do are horrible
>>
>>6945315
"Officially" that wave comes out in June. They'll show up here and there early, and will probably be clogging shelves by July-August.

Bought my first figurine for myself

how did I do?

only started because I have been buying my nephew's random marvel legends and was getting massive nostalgia bombs of the 90s marvel cartoons when I saw some X-Men figures.

main aim is to get the 90s style X-Men and maybe different variations of cyclops (who was my fav as a kid)

think it's do able? and how do you guys limit yourself so it doesn't get out of hand

right now I'm thinking of getting that whole apocalypse baf set lol

I also bought this cos I thought it looked cool but I'll probably give it to my nephew since I don't know much about deadpool

does anyone know if DC have a similar range to the marvel legends range in terms of scale and style.

I'm thinking of getting my brother's son marvel shit and my sisters son DC cral
>>
>>6945406
DC has a line labeled "Multiverse" that's to scale with marvel stuff, but not as articulated.

Only one, I can think of that's on par with Hasbro's Marvel articulation is Blue Beetle.

But that said, some of DC line isn't bad.
>>
>>6945290
Just found a fresh case on pegs at wally world in the Atlanta area. Antman and Wasp are double packed. Saw a case of Deadpool, but have the enitre line already.

>>6945406
DC Collectibles made better figures and depending on the figure, they're in scale or close to it, what with Hasbro's MLs suffering from scalecreep and this line being new.

Figures like this Batman is actually supposed to be Dick Grayson's design, and it is to scale because it is Dick, but who wants a manlet Batman?

Anyway, Mattel's DCUC crap is actually really off scale as well, as theyre actually bigger than MLs. Like, in width too. Basically every DCUC is Superman cosplaying as different characters.
>>
>>6945564
Those torsos look off, like streched.
>>
>>6945847
Great, now that's bugging me too.
I think it looks off because of the upper torso being wider than the lower part. Never really noticed it before, but i guess it's there and not that noticeable when not seen in a grid like that, which is why Batdick doesn't look like he has that issue with his cape being the background instead of teh grid.
>>
>>6945847
>>6945857

The fuckery probably comes from two different ab crunches. What the fuck.
>>
I'm looking to use ML figures as golems/summons/giants/enemies for my 1/18 fantasy hacks figures.

Which one works best? A repaint of the new thing figure would make for an amazing golem
>>
>>6944981
There would be no way to break up the chrome at the joints without it looking horrible. And keeping the joints chrome would guarantee chipping even from careful posing, even if you wore gloves and shit .
>>
>>6945157
They did. The first time he had a red glow around his eyes (which made it look like he was blushing) while the second time omitted that.
>>
>>6945400
>maybe different variations of cyclops (who was my fav as a kid)
The price for Cyclops aint coming down anytime soon, so might as well bite the bullet and snatch him. If you give up on the hobby you can always sell him and people would pay extra
>>
>>6945053
>>6945230
That face sculpt makes him look like a Jamie Hewlett character.
>>
>>6945290
Widow was double packed in a revision of Winter Soldier wave 2 and she was still impossible to find. I don't see the Infinity War version ever hitting shelves around here.
>>
>>6945282
I think that's a pic of the original release version, but death is just obscured in the picture. See the twisty tie wrapped around something black underneath the outstretched Infinity Gauntlet hand? That's her.
>>
>>6945005
Why is he blushing so much?
>>
>>6944975

proportion is really bad despite the nice sculpt on the individual parts... the thighs are too long... the arms are ok if they were on a different figure... but in this case the thigh + leg being really long + the torso being also extra long... these are really weirdly proportioned figures.
>>
>>6945406

It's an okay figure. No major flaws, it's pretty much what you'd expect. Although, I kinda wish I had bought the Mafex figure for the brighter colors and the magnet feet.

And while we're on the topic any new promo shots for the other figures?
>>
>>6946207
The only thing we've got is his description on most sites he's available on mentions optional parts in addition to the alternate hands we know he comes with. I'd assume that means the shields, but we haven't been shown anything yet and at this rate we might not until people start getting him in-hand.

Rumored second ML Vintage wave is
Ant-Man
Wasp
Black Panther
Vision
Hawkeye
Scarlet Spider
Sounds a bit too good to be true to me, but they'd probably all be so half assed they might as well not have bothered. But I am aching for updated classic Avengers

I lucked out on Deadpool and found it at a TRU (woo, discount) but haven't seen one figure anywhere of the Lizard wave. I'm resorting to Amazon for that. I just hope Mysterio goes down in price.
>>

I kind of wanted Lizard and a lot of the figures int he wave looked like ones I would like, but not for mark up.

No, Ben historically has been 5'11-6' in rocky form. It was an important character feature to play up during his famous classic romps with the Hulk, who was often portrayed at the time as roughly 7'. Then the late 90s and 00s came and that went out the window because consistent characterization is a lost art.

Movie studios will get merch sales because they're using copywrited designs made especially for the movies. It's called "royalty fees"
So even PAramount got royalties from the movie GI Joe toys despite Hasbro owning all the rights.

Also, this is why Azrael toys didn't really exist ever since Joe Quesadilla started his mocking of DC as EiC at Marvel.

>>
>>6947283

I have 3 one:12 figures and they are all great.

Pose-ability: Mild limitation if the character wears a jacket otherwise fabric tends to stretch a bit. Thor only looks to have cloth pants also.

Part-swapping: A non-issue with all 3 of my figures. The pieces had no issues switching.

Stands: Just as sturdy as any sh figuart or figma stand

Durability: They are sturdy figures. Think Hot Toys, but smaller. Hot Toys are big/chunky/tough figures for being high-end collectibles and you pay for every bit of it.

Quality: I would say expect to be impressed especially if it's your first one

New to this toy collecting stuff.

what's a good site to see what's going to be coming out so I know how to plan my purchases. and how do you guys limit yourself because I feel this can get really autistic and out of hand with wanting to complete the build a figures.

what suit is this magneto from? and the mohawk storm in the same set. I've never seen them before.

oh and what do girls think when they find out you collect toys and stuff. does it come off as being pretty gay
>>
>>6947723

another thing, how much do you need to know about a characters lore and shit to feel like you "deserve" owning it.

is it considered poser to own figures purely because you think it looks cool even though you don't even know what their story is or where they are from

Stay mad and in denial. Figures of different heights with shoulders at different points, necks of different lengths, thighs and calves of different sizes, despite being similar... Superhero toys from different companies apparently are all the same proportion so anyone who likes one line can't criticize the other..? Hilarious how someone who can't spot proportions actually get so mad about someone criticizing ONE line and accuse others of hating EVERY superhero toy line.

What's wrong with you man? I mean I know this is 4chan and all but damn, you sound like a really unstable person.

That's the suit Magneto started wearing when everything relaunched after Secret Wars, when he started leading the X-Men.

And the Storm figure from that wave is based on her 80's look when they scrapped her old design and made her look punk.

It depends on the girl, but a lot of them are going to think it's weird. It will definitely be a dealbreaker for some, but if a harmless hobby is enough to scare someone off then you're not missing out on much.

As for knowing the lore and whether you "deserve" to own a figure, that really depends on how you feel. For the most part nobody else cares how or why you collect what you do.

>>6947744
It's Corvus Glaive's spear, but there's no detailing or paint, and it's actually not a very accurate interpretation of it overall.
>>
>>6947761
there you go. It's your money. If it's not creating a hardship for you then there's no reason to avoid buying a toy you're interested in. You need no other justification than that.

Most girls i know find my toy collection to be "geeky and interesting", my gf even gives me figures as gifts from time to time, never had a problem with that.
With that said, A: i only really talk about It with people who like the topic, other people just know about it, you don't tell everything about your favorite band to someone who doesn't like that genre, do you?
And B: if someone has a problem with stuff i like i'm always open to discuss it, hell , maybe they will have a point, but If it's a deal breaker for them, i probably don't want a relationship with them either.

As long as you don't collect things from popular girl's franchises you should be good on that front.

I had uncapped cable broadband speeds in 1998.
I was internet gaming already.
There were thousands of internet communities and belonged to a great many good ones.
Sharing opinions was far more civil.
Probably the only thing better today than it was yesterdecades ago was videos weren't a thing, thanks to bandwidth and hosting being super expensive. However, music was super easy to find.
Basically, there's no real big changes, except all the smaller sites shut down and everyone only uses the major sites now.

Maybe in your shit country or state, it was worse back then, but here it was great.

But that's moot, since good shit still holds up, except for some kids who just dislike things because they're old.
Good sculpts were always praised and didn't really need paint, because the detail stood out all by themselves. Hasbro got sloppy with the eyes sometime in 2012 or 2013, and that basically ruined a lot of great figures.

Sucks for you that your undeveloped country/state that barely entered 1990s internet quality, which to make the proper analogy is like comparing a Mattel figure to Hasbro's efforts. Completely different ballpark because of your substandard third world quality life.

I'd classify them as forgivable. They're definitely smaller than Legends, noticeably so when standing side by side as you can see with >>6948614 But it gets harder to notice the size differences when they're posed and not right next to each other in a display. And of course you can fudge the scale a bit for certain characters. Someone like Thor might look strange at the smaller figuarts scale, but characters like Strange and Spidey probably aren't going to be noticeably out of place standing next to beefier Legends characters.

is it summer already?
Fucking newfags need to go back where they came from, especially since you think a common style of posting that's been around since telegraphs comes from that place you came from.

Toys should have better paint jobs if they're going to cost $50 fucking bucks or more. Clean colored plastic is for Hasbro and Mattel tier toys.
I miss Toy Biz. Fucking top tier paint jobs almost always for the price of Hasbro figures.

What do you guys think of my MCU collection so far? I've got Falcon on the way, found him for like $25 online, the Vision Scarlett Witch two pack on pre order since all the TRUs around me closed, and some infinity war guys coming. Oh yeah and I pre ordered SHF Dr Strange since I don't like the MLs cloak. I hope to get him soon. What do you guys think so far?
>>

>Those gorilla arms on the ML

Is any kind of illusion or magic trick?
>>
>>6949056
Not bad, dude! Which one is your favorite so far?
>>
>>6949059
They don't look bad when they're properly posed. The ML MCU Doctor Strange is an alright figure, especially considering the figuarts one is tiny.
>>
>>6948822
Holy shit, I'm most certainly grabbing this. The legends Carnage certainly leaves something to be desired.
>>
>>6948754
Yeah, I noticed but it was too late for delete, sorry.
>>
>>6948723
What Ghost Rider is that?
>>
>>6949056
Since there's at least 2/3 figures that exist for each MCU character (or in Iron Man & Cap's case, like 10 each), it's always fun to see which combos people have for their own MCU collections.

>Civil War Rhodey
>Battle Damaged Cap & Iron Man
>AoU Black Widow
>Civil War Spidey
>2018 Black Panther

Pretty fun, anon. Keep it up!

Damn. Looks nice. I wish figuarts would be some figures for the Netflix characters sometime.
>>
>>6949056
I'm really glad they're improving their faces lately. We desperately need a new Clint, Loki, and Thor since they don't have any better import alternatives. Hoping they do a new figure of Loki's Avengers design with the ten years series. Also you should grab Starlord since the Ego two-pack is on clearance pretty much everywhere.
>>
>>6949103
Don't know about his netflix appearance, but I'm loving that Mafex randomly chose to do Gwenpool. Makes me hopeful that they'll hit some other random comic choices.

I forgot to add I already have all the GotG including that Ego two pack. I had the comic versions of the Avengers but I didn't want to pay for that GotG set so I stuck with the MCU versions for them.

Since Infinty War was so good I felt the need to get some Avengers. I also got AoU Iron Man and Infinty War Cap on the way. Just to add some variation. I thought about AoU Cap for a complete team from that movie but his suit in Civil War is basically the same. I wanna get the new Thor from Infinity War too.
>>
>>6949230
I think it looks better than the new MS one.

I came across Ant-Man and Malektih from the Cul-Obsidian wave at Gamestop today. Malekith was pretty tight, and had some nice matte red paint. Ant-Man was kind of a disaster if you're only after the Rudd head. The print was way off, and made him kind of look like Sloth from the Goonies. This does not bode well.

I got it from the revoltech Jigen. It's attached to his hand but the glue on there was pretty light.
It has a small divot in the handle but it's unnoticeable when he holds it.
He also comes with an opened cylinder one which is great.

Honestly he's pretty meh. I got him a while ago before they announced the new one. The new one is so much better. Same with Deadpool. The accessories on the old one were better, an alt head, swords, handguns, bazooka, and taco. The new one only comes with two swords but honestly it's a much better figure.

I'm not a Shartimus fan but I like that at the end of the video he always puts up scale comparisons with other figures. It's nice to see how a new figure compares to the rest of the wave as well as older figures of the one he is reviewing. So basically I just skip to the end of his videos.

I just went full autism and bought this Deadpool and cable, that toys r us dark phoenix+cyclops pack and pic related set as my first figurines

should I open them or leave them in the box? I want to take them out but I have this dread like i would have this big feeling of guilt if I do. I don't even think I would even be selling/scalping them. i just want the main 90s style X-Men (cyclops, yellow wolverine, Jean Grey/Phoenix, rogue, gambit, beast, white suit storm, colossus, bishop, morph) and just give away ones I dont want to nephew's and nieces.

not even sure if I want bad guys but I definitely want a magneto and juggernaut and possibly sabertooth.
>>
>>6950698
Good choices with the Cable and Deadpool. Both are awesome. You did pretty good with the figures you chose. That Cyke especially is hard to come by unless you buy the whole wave like you did. Also open those fuckers up. They're Marvel Legends. They're not going to exponentially increase in price except for maybe one or two hard to find figures like Cyclops. Open em up, pose them, play with them, enjoy them. Welcome to /toy/ my friend. You're here forever.

As far as I know, soft pvc can't really be chromed. Never seen or heard of it being done.
