That's why I've not gotten anything from the studio line, why bother if they might get a better figure.
>>
>>6994916
I was done with the movie line long ago, already replaced half the first movie's cast years ago with updates from the first, don't really need or want more at this late stage. We'll see how the BB movie designs are though, AoE couldn't get me to buy jack-shit but I like how chunky Jeep-Bee looks.

>>

Like two threads ago when some mentioned turning new Inferno into him made me get him. For $10 shipped on ebay he was well worth it.

Most of actual transformers from pcc are worth it just as fun little scout classes. Your fun with the actual combiner gimmick will vary though, as some of the better figures make lame torsos and there's no elbows. I think all but the blue car and the Autobot plane are pretty well received. I don't have either of those, but I generally hear bad things. The Dinobots, the boat, the construction equipment ones, the other plane, I think they're all pretty fun.

They're cut right into the surfaces, so an empty square on the tail end of the two leg cars and two on the bottoms of the arms. So basically right where the magnets are. I wish I had them with me, but they're one of the multitude stored away at my parents'.

My only regret was that I had 3 more... that I sold years ago on ebay for 40$ EACH. Sigh... That was the price then. Still, no regrets at all getting rid of my last Serendib, even though it *could* have increased more in value. Only problem is it's now shit in competitive and it's only value is as a collectible. A "played" card is like a G1 toy missing a tiny accessory.

So yeah, going with Ebay value alone, I did more than good. My Apeface and Snapdragon finally have their opponents!

The problem with transformers toys is that Hasbro has basically realized they're selling characters, not toys, and they're exploiting that. This is probably one of the reasons why most figures now are basically their G1 counterparts but with more articulation. They can cut all the corners they want buy as long as they put out a chunk of plastic that looks like a thing from people's childhoods, they will buy it, because most TF collectors are just competitions that need to checklist ever fucking bot ever.

>TR Megatron because he wasn't a headmaster

Titans Returns should have been a stand alone thing. Classic and new characters reimagined as human sized robots who pilot and then combine with their vehicles. Japan would have made a stupid but entertaining cartoon about it. Instead we get weirdly shoe-horned story forced into G1 and the boring as sin Machinima webisode series.

It's still the same side of the coin because Megatron as a triple-changing headmaster was a good toy. Although the Hasbro version was ugly as fuck, the Takara G2 version was based as fuck. It's still the same side of the coin: Geewunners have shit taste. They will buy garbage because it's accurate, and they won't buy good stuff if it's inaccurate.

The joy was there when unpacking and watching. Converting this robot into a vehicle was very difficult for me alone as a father and to be expected by a toddler. Unpacked otherwise, this would send back. Quality not very convincing. No recommendation from us."

I trimmed the tabs on his shoulder pcc pegs so they can rotate all the way into his shoulder pylons and trimmed a small wedge out of his toe hinge so that his foot could rotate forward more giving him a better stance. This is what they should've done:
>Primal transforms using the 10th Ani/cybertron cartwheel transformation
>OpOp bits are the part that form the surfboard, basically an extended Jet mode sans arms
>Peg gorilla into underside of surfboard with arms sticking out and collapses to lock in to form jet
>Extend legs, position Primal's gorilla arms as OpOp's arms and flipdown cockpit and reveal head to form big bot

That reminds me of a Amazon review of CW Leader Megs. A guy bought it for his 7 year old son and said they do not know how to transform it and its tough for his son. Do these newfags not know what an instruction manual is?
>>
>>6996386
It honestly doesn't bother me that much visually. I just wish the gimmick was better integrated into the figures. The fact the base figures aren't very good doesn't help either (though I like the design they went with for Orion Pax's robot mode).

I think it was a cool idea that just didn't come across well with the budget.
>>
>>6996665
while the manual for that megs was fairly straight forward most of the time people have a hard time working out what each image represents, for whatever reason

you know if they wanted to they could just leave a code for a video online or something to cut down on paper and if its a video it'd really save people some grief, plus cost cutting
>>
>>6996670
Transformers instructions can admittedly be pretty vague. The fact joints for transformation quite often overlap with or act as typical articulation can make it difficult, too. Sometimes everything snaps into position in an obvious way, other times correct positioning is only verified by the next step. Then you have stuff like tolerance issues.

CW Megatron is one of the more straightforward ones but it's easy to see why people struggle with some figures. Even I do sometimes.
>>
>>6996670

I can't vouch for any of them but Optimus, but Optimus is great. The forearm armor doesn't like to set into place the way the design wants (though friction does the job; it's not floppy) so on one arm that was slightly worse than the other I whittled off a very thin slice of plastic from the tab. It's better.

The overall build quality and deco are great, though, and it easily holds up to any of the other movie Optimus figures save for the MPM in my opinion. I'm not even much of a fan of the movies but I think the Studio Series is off to a solid if inconsistent start. I'm even a little interested in Brawl despite the movie design being a freakish mess.

Anyway, Defensor is barely posable without falling appart. It's manageable but not easy. Computron is the best to pose. However, anything with the truck torso is bound to fall appart.
>>
>>6997130
Yeah I was gonna say don't all CW combiners have the same level of articulation? The statement here >>6997114 seems like a big lie from someone who never had a CW combiner or considers floppy limbs a minus to articulation.
>>
>>6997139
>Anyway, Defensor is barely posable without falling appart.
Sounds more like a problem with yours cause mine is fine
>>
>>6997140

The point is STABILITY. Sure, bendable things is all fine and good, but can it HOLD the pose? Too often, the limbs separate in two or the combiner's joints cannot hold the weight of the pose and just flop over.

G1 Abominus came from a pure bricks generation so it's posability is leap and bounds above his brothers. Plus I was shaking the table and he held on!

>>6997142
Mine may have looser hips. If I dare trying anything fancy, it end up in pain and tears.

My boy deserves better. Also, fucking CHUG Landill when? Had both as a kid and they were construction bros, now Scoop is all alone.
>>
>>6997148

I once own it and I sold it. He's fun to transform, but he feel very cheap in hand. Plus the Targetmasters suck. They come appart way too easily. Still at 7$ on clearance, it would be madness to pass it up.

I kinda regret selling mine to be honest.....
>>
>>6997148
Nah, he's a perfect Autobot to me, though I understand people who aren't nostalgic for him being lukewarm to him.

I haven't got his feet upgrade yet, but he stays on most poses that doesn't require him to split his crotch, so he isn't very dynamic, but kinda its his Hotspot stoic persona.
>>
>>6997151
If the targetmaster handles weren't so floppy I'd be fine with them, I like how they look Moreno than how they work as guns. Otherwise my only gripe with Scoop is the waist not clicking into place, but it it allows him to look in a more upwards pose so it's hardly an issue.
>>
>>6997163

That's also the best I can do. Now I need to stop being a lazy ass and apply the Reprolabels I bought months ago.

>>6997165
>TM's handles
That's my main gripe too. Scoop himself is pretty solid.

Got them from eBay for a decent price since I'm from the uk. The seller was kind enough to give free dry transfers of the faction symbols. I'll post a link if anyone wants it.
>>
>>6997151
My main gripe is there's no really good place to store his guns in vehicle mode. Like. cmon guys
>>
>>6997200
You plug them in the sides, like the original. Sure it's not good, but it's accurate.
>>
>>6997201
they barely _fit_ there though.
>>
>>6997200

I used to plug them on top of the vehicle, standing up in bot modes. Ridiculous and fun at the same time.
>>
>>6997200
Whats wrong with the rear mudflap ports?

I'm trying shoddily digibashing Shokaract heads into RID guys but I'm not convinced yet.
If possible I'd like to use a tank but I'm also considering the one that kind of looks like a crab.

No those, the ones on the mudflaps
>>
>>6997233
Stick with the tank. It's not like Shokaract/Rampage had claws in robot mode.
>>
>>6997238
I could see making a sci-fi tank from the car but it might be a hassle.

>>6997243
Yeah. I'm feeling kind of indecisive about which version of the mold to pick but I think that it'd be best to use the one with the easily replaceable chest and ass flaps.

What's your beef with PotP Primal? And don't go comparing it to the $100+ PE Beast Gorira. There at 2 widely different price points and are for different types of collectors.
>>

Did I mention that pile of shit? It's an Optimal Optimus toy that's bad enough already, literal nothing alt modes and a shitty robot mode.
>b-but it was fun as a child
>>
>>6997224
Money is the reason. That and they're like 1.5 inches tall. It's hard to bitch about them when Hasbro didn't even fucking do them in the first place. Takara probably had to rush them to even get them ready to be released in a timely fashion, lucky they even happened.

Man, I'm getting really tired of waiting for minor shit like SS Hatchet and POTP Nosecone to be confirmed or POTP Repugnus to be shown.

Also, am I crazy or could a remold of CW Skydive ideally be the best base for Nosecone?
>>
>>6996944
>Should've waited for an updated KO for that.
Not gonna happen +nothing to fix.

>>6997363
I have her, she's adorable. She also comes with a drama cd.
>>
>>6997637

>>
>>6997458
If you think they are minor you probs don't need them. Collecting TFs is not about the money you spend, but the money you save.
>>
>>6997458
>POTP Nosecone

You're funny. He's not coming out over here because they don't give a shit about fixing a boxed set team.

>>
You figure if Primal (as in, the core robot for the POTP figure) had to keep his entire body in that brick configuration for most modes (surf board, combined gorilla, combined bot mode AND jet mode) they would do a better job making it more flush.

>>
>>6997802
Transformer fans are too busy fighting over transformers to give a damn over religious or political affiliation
>>
>>6997656
You don't understand.
I'm calling them minor because I know they are not going to be the poster boys of any line, are not important characters in fiction, and weren't hyped by Hasbro; I haven't even bought a single POTP figure because I'm also waiting for Flywheels to be confirmed.

Completing the Monsterbots and getting the best base for my own personal CW Brawl custom are important only to me. Hasbro wouldn't care even if they knew about me.
