The Wild Liger, Gannontoise, and Gabrigator look amazing. Gabrigator in particular blew my mind, it looks really natural.

The scorpion, dinosaur, and beetle guys are really underwhelming, though.

Mild hype, but honestly I would have opted for something more like the HMM series, or at least the zoid equivalent of an HG kit. Motorized movement just doesn't interest me like good posability
>>
>>7007288
It's because toy manufacturers are the retailers'(Walmart's) bitch in the west. Retailers expect the manufacturers to market their own brand and based on this brand recognition is privileged to be on the retailer's shelves. The retailers know that as long as they play it safe, that their stock will almost always sell within expectations. This is because of the ubiquity of the retailers' name in American/Western society. I suspect that retailers are not so monopolistic in Japan. Due to this, Japanese retailers must make their product appealing to every set of eyes that walks into their store to maximize sales.

The look nice, but seem a bit pricier than older Zoid kits. Might spring for a Gannontoise later.

Zoids Wild kits, yes. HMMs will of course still be on sprues.

>>
>>7007766
It was... a while go since I last bought them, but I remember getting the bigger kids like Saberfang and Shield Liger for 30 bucks. But after watching the videos they aren't that small so the price seems more acceptable now.

>>7007709
>Mild hype, but honestly I would have opted for something more like the HMM series, or at least the zoid equivalent of an HG kit. Motorized movement just doesn't interest me like good posability
honestly I find it annoying less because of how it hinders articulation(although it is a good reason), but more because it's blatantly being done so they put the prices up about 500 to 1000 yen higher than they'd otherwise be
>>
>>7007810
These would be more expensive if they were on the level of HMMs though.
>>
>>7007832
doesn't have to be anywhere near that level, just something along the line of the Blox or Bio Zoids would be fine, less even would be fine if the price dropped down enough, these should be sold for the price you can buy the average HG Gundam kit for

Amiami already ran out of the new turtle zoid. I hope they get more in August.
>>
>>7007777
Extremely strong post number aside, those kits were 30 bucks in 2001 bucks, 17 years ago. These are CRAZILY well-priced for what is honestly slightly higher quality than an HG kit for a roughly equal to slightly lower size- in addition, they have MUCH better gimmicks than previous zoids.
>>
>>7007709
Kotobukiya ones are real model kits anon, these are toys, so it's a huge difference. Tomy is trying to sell toys, just look at the new show, it's aimed at 10-14 yr old kids

Model Kits are all just toys you put together, this is a fact that cannot be denied. The sooner you accept you own toys, the better. There is nothing wrong with an adult owning toys, but to feel so insecure about it that you have to tell yourself they aren't, that is a problem.

These are model kits, there are a fair amount of pieces, you put them together. GGNoReEZPZ

It's funny how wrong you are. Gunpla in particular runs about the same price if not cheaper than similarly sized action figures/toys, but you get to actually experience putting them together instead of just breathing heavily when it arrives at your house and sticking it on a shelf for eternity.
>>
>>7011750
Yeah, but they feel like shit in your hand. Gunpla is so fucking dumb and fragile, I don't understand the appeal. You might as well just built it for that "experience" and then toss it right into the trash.
>>
>>7011750
Funny thing is I recently discovered a Gundam guide book from the early 2000s that listed the prices of the MSIA and kits during the time. Interesting the prices for HG and MG kits have stayed pretty much the same
>>
They seem fun and that's all I care about.
Just paid for my Liger, now waiting to ship it with other stuff

Hopefully this line survives, and we get some of the classic zoid designs in the same style.
>>
>>7007283
You couldn't do that shit in the US. Kids and niggers would try to touch and take that many loose toys, even if they're attached to the display. We had people lift up the glass on our SH Figuarts display at Toys R US and try and take figures, resulting in them breaking them, since they were attached to the case.

It seems the differentiation point between "toys" and "model kits" (erroneous as it may be) is that model kits are not necessarily tough enough to stand up to rough play. But Zoids kits are designed to be built tough enough to be thrown across the living room. Compare the metal claws of the OG Blade Liger to the HMM where the legs fall if you look at 'em wrong.

Now I want the turtle, crocodile and the giant dinosaur as well but they are sold out everywhere
>>
This is a dangerous, I've always wanted Zoids as a kid but being in a third world country, I found out about them late into their life cycle, and they were pretty pricey.

Now I have a job and a means to access these kits and my hands are itching. How are the $10 Beetle/Scorpion Zoids?

I want these so bad, I'm kicking myself for not ordering them.

Any word on if the anime will be streaming anywhere in the US?
>>
>>7020712
None yet, but I'm sure somebody will sub it on /m/. Zoids is one of those pedigree mecha shows.
>>
>>7020712
It doesn't really look like the anime will be worth watching for older fans. It seems like they are going full Digimon: Appli Monsters where its purely targeting children.
>>
Yeah, character designs scream modern Beyblade and those designs are terrible.
>>
>>7020752
Appmon was good though, some of the later fights were top tier. This anime should be great for the fact we'll be seeing some personality in the zoids.
>>
>>7020836
Did it get any better? I just lost interest when the Witch Appmon evolves and gets destroyed almost immediately after her gimmick is beaten.
>>
>>7020860
It does, actually, and not far after that. Besides, it's not as if a lot of bosses from the original show weren't beaten the second there was a digivolution.

Yeah, but she was the main boss for half the show. It was just bizarre how easy it was. Main arc bosses always put up a good fight in Digimon shows.

Yeah it's a kids mass-release toyline, there'll be restocks in the next few months. It's also likely they'll have an international release. Those Tomica Drivehead toys got SEA and East Asian releases like 2~3 months ago, which is like a year after its Japanese launch.

This is Zoids Wild, these are wild Zoids. In the old Zoids series what they did was hunt down wild zoids, and ripped the core(which was basically that zoids being) out of them, then made a pilotable body for themselves that they put the core into and added weapons to them. These Zoids have full control of themselves and are not piloted, instead they are tamed and become partners with their rider.

>In the old Zoids series what they did was hunt down wild zoids, and ripped the core(which was basically that zoids being) out of them, then made a pilotable body for themselves
Are you fucking serious? That's ghastly. So they're basically riding gutted animal corpses in the old series? Was this ever discussed in-show as being like...as horrifying as it sounds, or were people just cool with it?
>>
>>7025260
Man you could have brought up the original battle-story but you when with a game no one has fucking heard of. Low energy. The franchise for the vast majority of it has never embraced 'gritty realism'. I would love it if they did, but it's really not been a design by-line for the series for a long long time.
>>
>>7025522
Technically the Zoids were still alive, you can sometimes see Zoids showing personality in the old shows. You just don't see it a whole lot because humans have control over the body for the most part.

Where did you buy your Zoids from and how much was shipping? I feel like I'm being jewed for $60 + $20 in import fees for shipping for 5 zoids via Amazon JP.
>>
>>7025996
So, maybe I'm reading this wrong but are you saying the shipping total is $20? Or $80? Whichever it is, you're not being "jewed". Depends on the Zoid/s. Have you never imported before?
>>
>>7025522
No, they're piloting animal shaped war machines with the heart and soul of a living creature inside of it.
>>
>>7026046
I'm just surprised, that's all. I've imported the first four Amazing Yamaguchi figures and the shipping was $40 with Ami.

I might be miscalculating how heavy the damn things are, but $80 (60 shipping + 20 import) is pretty steep, I think.
>>
>>7026231
Box size is a large factor, too.
>>
>>7025996
Model kit boxes are big. Use HLJ's cart to calculate shipping prices.
>>
>>7026231
I've imported one Zoid that cost $50 total to ship, so $80 for 5 is perfectly fine. Don't worry. Gojulas the Ogre's shipping is about $200 as another example.
>>
>>7025996
Does amazon JP still have the kits?
>>
>>7026503
You're talking HMMs though. HMMs have a ton of tiny little pieces that need to be spread out on sprues, so their boxes are gigantic. An average HG-sized HMM has a box the size of a MG, a MG-sized one has a box damn near the size of a PG, and so on and so forth.

I haven't got my Wild kits in yet, but I'm assuming they need less box space since the parts are just bagged and not on sprues.

>>7039160
Because they're usually cheaper and have far better customer service than AmiAmi.
>>
ANYONE THAT WAS HOLDING OUT ON AN HLJ RESTOCK, EVERYTHING BUT WILD LIGER AND GRACHIOSAURUS ARE BACK UP FOR ORDER. GOGOGO.
I ALSO RECOMMEND GETTING THOSE IMAGING FIGURES
>>
>>7040111
I've heard this many times, but my experience with Amiami customer service has been very pleasant. You only need to send pics of issues and type everything up in the simplest wording possible.

HLJ on the other hand, blamed me for their mistake, then told me to get fucked.
>>
>>7040815
Yeah but grachio when?
>>
>>7038843
Just use amazon.jp. They're getting a restock of everything on the 16th.
>>
>>7040815
>I ALSO RECOMMEND GETTING THOSE IMAGING FIGURES
Why? What's so special about them?
>>
>>7040832
Nice try, Amiami customer rep.
>>
>>7041222
I wish I was joking.
>>
>>7041232
Uhuh...
>>
>>7040832
I'm sorry for your bad experience, but the fact remains that the majority of people have poor to bad experiences with Amiami CS and relatively good experiences with HLJ's. Some outliers will always exist, you are unfortunately one of them.
>>
>>7041351
Ok, I'm in the minority. In any case, the issue I had with HLJ was probably the worst I've ever had in any site or store. They essentially doubled my order, then had me pay double that cost even when they admit this was their fault, it was disgusting. That was over 900 dollars due to that fuck up, and it was only thanks to paypal that I managed to fix that situation.
>>
>>7041357
Damn, that IS bad. Sorry to hear it bro.
>>
>>7040995
They look nice, what other reason would there be?
>>
How's Wild Liger look without paint? And is anyone else's CDJ order in limbo?
>>
>>7041562
Most of the pics and videos have them without paints
>>
They're back in stock in AmiAmi.

Hoping that my payment deadline can reach the Brachiosaur Zoid.

Any ETA for Wave 2? I need to start saving up hue.
>>
>>7040815
But Wild Liger is the only one I want.
>>
>>7043394
Grachio and Kuwaga are Wave 2- they come out July 23rd.
>>
>>7043542
Do you think there will be more than just pre-order availability?
I really need my long dicked dinosaur friend.
>>
>>7043542
Sorry, the 28th.
>>
>>7043557
There might be, but unfortunately even Amazon JP is only selling it from third-parties, at prices 20-30 dollars over MSRP. Don't worry though- this line is insanely popular, and it will get restocked.
>>
Anyone missing out on and wanting Wild Liger, while if you want this one definitely go for it. It is great. I love mine. You can also consider waiting because there will be a DX version releasing in a few months with pearl and chrome parts.
>>
>>7043735
>I literally just bought mine
>DX version already

GODDAMN IT REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Where do you keep up with the news for this toyline?
>>
>>7043773
I just look at the official twitters, and the #. For this though, I was looking at figsoku for other stuff, and was surprised to see it was posted there out of no where. Shows the DX Wild Liger, and other new kits coming. http://figsoku.net/blog-entry-116133.html
>>
>>7043806
Damn. I wanna cancel my wild liger order and wait for this but what if this is exclusive to a specific retailer?
>>
>>7044414
It wouldn't be. It's specifically labeled ZW15, rather than something like ZW01 DX, or ZW01+ or something. So it's definitely a normal release.
It's a lot later on the schedule than the others though. You'll be waiting until November for it.
So don't worry about not being able to get it, if you can wait until then.
>>
>>7043735
Any pictures of the DX one? Didn't see it in any of my feeds.
>>
>>7044849
The link here >>7043806 has all the new stuff
>>
>>7044854
Gracias
>>
>>7006581
Hmm kits when? As much as i like ol windup gimmick. This kits have great posing posibilities.
>>
>>7045302
Aggressive figures, when?
>>
>>7043806
>The ZW kits don't use sprues
>They are perfect for plated kit
Can't wait to get the Wild Liger DX and give it the blue caps
>>
>>7006581

Any clue of which kind of plastic they are made of? Or is it safe to assume that painting them with paint made for model kits will work?

I'm still sort of salty about hexa gears using pvc.
>>
>>7045592
Eh they probably use sprues just that they are precut for you.

>>
HLJ, you fucks! Restock Wild Liger!
>>
>>7052674
Gannontoise just straight up says discontinued now. Bummer, I didn't have the cash handy when it was up.
>>
>>7053963

>>
>>7055023
And HLJ. THAT ANON IS A LYING CUNT.
>>

Blade Liger Aggressive rerelease when?
>>
>>7060724
You already got one.
>>
>>7060760
Fuck, when? I guess I missed it again and it's stupid expensive on the aftermarket.
>>
>>7018195
China is even worse than the US when it comes to this.
>>
I feel like I built my Wild Liger wrong. Is it always supposed to be tilted? It's never "up straight", it's either leaning to the left or to the right.
