You clearly haven't been to Japan post COVID. It's full of jeets now. Even my gf was wondering why there were so many. Better to visit Korea, China or Vietnam.

They tightened the visa rules recently, just like Thailand. Expect less jeets in the future.

Your pedohysteria is purely performative and impresses nobody. It will earn you nothing. All your fake outrage represents is your projection of your own insecurity in the face of what you believe to be changing social norms.

You understand and are attracted to youth and beauty, but being a coward, you are terrified by the sudden swing of neopuritan sentiment towards it, and so you make your gay little performance whenever you can.

But know this: you fool nobody.

There is also nothing wrong with finding young women beautiful. Stop embarrassing yourself.

So what's the theory anons? I find it a little hard to believe that this nordic just went into the woods and killed himself after an argument with his family. Could there be foul play involved? Maybe some browns who jumped him or some kind of /x/ shit? Why doesn't the police want to disclose the cause of death?

He went in alone at night to a place he hadn't been before with little to no planning and there may have been bad weather. Accident happen.

Things can get bad fast if you make a small mistake in bad conditions. My friend and I were walking in Cappadocia and went off trail for a minute, the ground ended up crumbling underneath both of us and we went skidding down a steep slope. It was hard to crawl back up because the soil was super dry and brittle, and it ended up being no big deal, but many people have died doing shit like that

Bears are rampaging through cities now. Tourists don't realize how bad it is and think it's like their own country.
>just shout and the bear will run away bro
>just don't get near the mama bear's cubs and it won't bother you bro
The bears here have no fear of humans and see them as prey. People are being killed in towns by bears. They look small, but they're roided up hungry pitbulls with massive claws. Hiking is increasingly dangerous because bear populations are exploding and there isn't enough food for them. Going into a forest alone with nobody else around is even worse. Going into a forest alone at night is basically begging to be killed.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZQ5Qbq6qthE

Just look at these crazy fuckers.

Though if it was a bear, they probably would've reported it as a bear death. If it wasn't suicide, slipping and falling just the wrong way is more likely. Especially considering the weather. Even locals slip and die all the time. Young people hiking in groups too. The mountains in Japan are shorter than many American and European mountains, but the inclines are more intense. If you misstep or are walking around at night and can't see where you're stepping, you're sliding down 100 feet until you whack your head on a tree. On casual American and European hiking trails, I could walk off a trail any time and just wander around. Even the most casual Japanese hiking paths have steep inclines.

Going to Gdańsk for a weekend. What can you do there?

It's always like this. Bunch of young American wehrboos seething on behalf of the people who knew better than to hold pointless grudges.
My family was originally from what is now Western Ukraine, so they got the whole Stalin's package tour deal (exile to Siberia -> permitted to move to Kazakhstan -> resettled in Western Poland). My great-grandfather took over a remote farmstead near the Neisse. One day an old German couple rolled up in a car and said it used to be their home and they were curious to see what it looks like today. So he took them on a tour of the place, opened a bottle of vodka and invited them to dinner. They visited him a couple times afterwards and mailed each other occasional letters until they all eventually died.
People understood it was a war and all the misfortune that had happened to them was largely out of control of anyone who didn't end up in history books.

Nice and Cannes are pretty great if you want to chill. Monacco is also a pretty sweet day trip. I grabbed a bottle of wine and some snacks from a grocery store and sat my ass down by the round about outside the Casino Montecarlo and watched the most ridiculous super cars coming in and out all afternoon. Then hiked up to the fortress and fondled some cannons. Would do again.
>>
>>2887918
>Nice and Cannes are pretty great if you want to chill
yeah, there's a reason why the french riviera is consistently in the most desirable / visited places in Europe in the last 100y

didn't want to discredit it
just wouldn't go there during peak summer (June, July, August)
way too busy
and you'll pay double for your accommodation (or don't find anything decent in the first place)
you can partly get around this by camping, which feels far less crowded, but there's still a peak season surcharge and it still will be comparatively full

if you don't care about the beach / going swimming, I'd go in March/April/October
otherwise go in early September or late August, usually still warm enough, but a lot less people
peak season typically ends mid August and crowds gradually slow after (French school begins like 1st September, Italian schools late August to early September and Germany ones usually somewhere in August)

Im near 40 and finally got my passport for the first time in the US. I'm thinking Japan and London as my first trip. Any international travel tips?

>>
>>2886075
Nah, they're ruined by hordes of tourists from London. You'd be better going to rural Norfolk or Cambridgeshire to look at small towns than Cotswolds.

>>2887506
My opinion at least is that Japan doesn't have over-tourism, it's very similar to the UK in that the touristy places are over-crowded. It's like going to Cambridge in the peak of the summer and complaining about all the Asian students visiting. I also think some of it is just Japanese people being quite conservative or intolerant privately and this leaks out onto the internet with the whole "muh honibru" culture and Western fetishists treating Japan like it's some kind of special glass sculpture which needs careful handling.

>>2887516
That's the majority of tourists in every country. I grew up near Cambridge in the UK, it's full of Asian tourists taking the same selfies, buying Uni or Harry Potter merch (go to any touristy city in the UK you will see HP merch shops). What makes Japan so special that this behaviour is so frowned upon?

>absolute shitholes you will not feel safe
Some of the safest countries on the planet btw. Actually global crime rates generally are so low you're extremely unlikely to get hurt in even "dangerous" countries. Watching fewer clickbaiting youtubers and experiencing more might give you a less paranoid view of the world.
>>
>>2887833
>England, France Belgium or Germany, absolute shitholes you will not feel safe
what the fuck are you yapping about
these are among the safest places in the world regarding violent crimes
and they all have working, non-corrupt justice systems with competent police

the worst thing that's gonna happen there if you visit
is getting pickpocketed in Paris, London or Brussels if you're too stupid to pay attention to your surroundings

rural France or Germany are incredible safe
like "people let their young kids play outside after dark without a second thought" safe
there are very few places on earth where this is the case

I am OP. I have now been in Seoul for a few days, and I must admit that the city is growing on me. It’s true that it’s smelly, dilapidated, visually unappealing, and Koreans are terrible drivers, but beyond all that Koreans do cozy vibes pretty well and things are quite affordable. In some ways I think korea mogs Japan: the people are friendlier and less autistic, everything is more spacious, and their public spaces are well-designed and full of benches and garbage cans, making it much more inviting for humans to chill. Japanese public spaces are like their zen gardens: nice to look at but not meant to be used, only appreciated.
Koreans appear to be the most phone addicted people in the world. I count people on sidewalks and about 80% of people here walk around while hunched over looking at their phone. They also love their little diabetes inducing microplastic drinks, it’s rare to see someone not holding a plastic cup with a straw. A nice older couple gave me a pouch with a handwritten bible verse and some candies.
>>
>>2887982
>rare to see someone not holding a plastic cup with a straw
it's slowly changing
in some places you can bring your own cup and even get a discount
near universities (like in Daehangno) you'll see this more often

>nice older couple gave me a pouch with a handwritten bible verse and some candies
that's a cult
literally anything religious that is not Buddhism in Korea will be a cult
and not of the good kind, some of them make Scientology look reasonable

Nah, I'm an Anglo-Germanic white with blue eyes.

Closest thing to Indian in me is that my great, great, great, great grandfather was born in a musician's family in Mulhouse (France), had a professional musical career in Britain and ended up organising operas in Mumbai for the Brits in the 1840s. His children all returned to Britain after he died before my g.g.g. grandfather shipped out for Australia shortly after that.

You are an ooga booga ape to the Chinese high rollers. Bet they won't refuse you if you show up in a proper car with a luxury hotel booking instead of all sweaty with a huge backpack saying "let me in to your kingdom of pleasures, mafiasan, and uhh, do you have a hotel for like ten dollars here?".

Besides, what money are you going to play with? Chinese yuan? You don't even have any. No, they don't want your sweaty limp American dollars. Nor do they want Lao kip. Thai baht is the only acceptable currency a foreign visitor can play with.

I never had a better time in my life there with a dollar bungalow and a fan on the river side with a hammock and a book. Wandering down to a tiny little bar/restaurant to drink beers and play cards with randoms. Wake up in the morning and rent a bike and peddle around the countryside amongst ruins of temples, the Khmer, and French colonial squalor. Maybe swim in a waterfall and play a game of pick up footy with some kids. Tuck in to some fresh laap while some lady kick a water buffalo around a field. Then peace and quiet. Back to my hammock and a book.

I still think about that girl I met at a hostel in Germany

There was a Polish girl a couple bunks away who approached me. We talked for 1-2 hours a day after we did our own separate traveling for the day and returned to the hostel at night. She indirectly complemented how I looked, asked to exchange social media, and asked if I wanted to go to the train station with her before she left the next day. Said she never had a boyfriend before.

I wanted her so badly, but I was already with a girl back home. Kept mentioning I have a girlfriend, she kept approaching to talk. In an effort to be loyal, I left early the next day so we couldn't go together, removed her on social media, and told my girlfriend about it.

I don't know if I'd ever been so attracted to someone in my life. The extended eye contact made blood rush to my face. I wanted her so badly but wanted to stay loyal. Sometimes I wonder what could have happened.

Summer season is now on!

>What is this thread? Why are there two generals?
/rcg/ was initially created as a way for the roller coaster enthusiasts on here to discuss all things roller coasters and theme parks. While roller coasters are the main focus of these threads (and the title of the general) there is also discussion on other theme parks, their rides, as well as the parks themselves and trip planning too. That's where /tpg/ comes in.
>Can I talk about Disney/Universal parks in this thread?
Absolutely! Disney/Universal discussion of all sorts including rides/resorts/dining/trip planning is OK.

General Rules:
1. Talk about Theme Parks and Rollercoasters.
2. There is no second rule.
