I don't know why, but I was legit sad when he died. I usually don't get bothered when celebrities pass, but he just seemed like a good dude.

As soon as I started watching this movie I wanted to travel... as far away from this movies as possible.

That movie made me angry in so many ways.

Some dumb broad is tired of her remarkably privileged and easy life, so she goes to India to become more """spiritual""". A more appropriate plot for the movie would have been her getting some sort of parasite from the food and dying slowly in a cave somewhere.

Walter Mitty was criminally underrated, amazing cinematography and a really great plot. It's one of the few movies I can watch with my family where we all enjoy it. I remember back in 2013 I asked my family to go see it in the theater, that was the last time I remember ever asking to see actually go and see a movie. It has an adult plot without the awkward sex scenes or violence. Probably my favorite movie of all time because of how watchable it is, I can literally watch it with anyone and they will like it. It just brings back a lot of good memories, also it has a great message.

tbf the producers were just latching on to the modern notion that the western world and especially europe are bland, boring and cultureless, and that only wiping your arse with your hands and kneeling before zoomorphic, multi-limbed gods can save you from depression
>>
>>1311875

you are watching the wrong one anon. that movie was terrible, this was by far best version:

****

op i’m going with this movie so you get a little sci fi — until the end pf the world:

Tampopo.
It isn't a travel movie, but if you are going to Japan on a budget, it is a movie that helps work up an appetite for fresh ramen.

Agreed. It cemented the "you hate your life, why not?" into my mind more than anything else. Really liked how he didn't give a shit by the end.

Oldie mexican homemade-style road movie. Directed by Alfonso Cuarón (Gravity, Harry Potter 3). It also has Diego Luna (The Terminal, Star Wars Rogue One).
Plot: Two friends from Mexico City plan a trip to a virgin beach, and convince a spanish girl to go with them. During the trip, they witness all the socio-politic tension and manifestations across the country. It is a very simple movie, but it somehow achieves to transmit that natural, backpacker trip feeling. The footage is very simple, no VFX, no cinematography at all, feels very natural, even the stuff they see during the trip are real.
Nominated to an oscar, and an award from Venice Fiml Festival, and 91 on RT. Definetively worth it.

This movie changed my life in the sense that I related so damn hard with the main character and realized that I'm actually a huge asshole and nobody likes to spend time with me because I'm so oblivious to my own self importance. It basically did what a good drug trip is supposed to do.

Quality thread desu
Only a few listed movies aren't reaaaally /trv/ related but that's too subjective and nitpicky to matter

I love the Before * trilogy but I don't see it as /trv/, except that one of the two is an American abroad

>>1312545

/trv/ meets /out/.

Makes me want to leave it all behind. But hopefully not die shitting myself to death in the middle of nowhere.

inb4 people start spouting edgy opinions about how the film is bad because they couldn't handle Chris dying.
>>
>>1313110
I kinda liked it for it. The guys died irl too because he just wasn't good enough to make it out there. It's not as easy as hollywood makes it in most movies

However there was this one guy who lived for 27 years by himself, in the mountains of Maine of all places, which even as a nonamerifat I know has serious winters
Dunno if this was the exact story I read https://www.theguardian.com/news/2017/mar/15/stranger-in-the-woods-christopher-knight-hermit-maine
